Great location for Paraparaumu Beach, local shops and eateries. Clean and comfortable with adequate facilities albeit not opulent. Served my needs very satisfactorily. My second stay and will go there again next time I’m that area.

Please use better quality toilet paper. A little thing but annoying!

Location was excellent!!. Shops, bars, cafe's a stones throw away. We were attending a family gathering and our location was perfect.

Thin toilet paper!!! Add another couple of bucks a night and upgrade toilet paper to three ply -- not tissue!!!!

We arrived after a 12 hour drive exhausted, on entering the room we could tell immediately that the room was well below standard, Mouldy curtains, dirt on the cupboards, Insects on the spare blanket, dirty bathroom, the room was noisy we could hear the people next door and the building itself was in desperate need of repair and maintenance. We walked out and found better accommodation for our 3 night stay. I strongly advise you look elsewhere.

The location love it

No net curtains at all for privacy being ground floor. Curtains need replacing. Insulation zero...very, very noisy from upstairs and 2x connecting doors one to office other to uostairs for the permanent rentals.

The bed was comfortable.

The whole apartment was in need of a spruce up. The paint was damaged, the towel hook in the bathroom gone and it was definitely "down at heel" The kitchen equipment was minimal.

Great location. It had everything you needed, plus a spa. Fairly basic, but comfortable.

It was adequte, big TV, comfy bed nixe carpet, spa bath.

A heater, had to go and buy my own. I'm from Brisbane and its freezing down here and I picked up influenza B a few weeks ago, my lungs had been suffering, just wanted to sleep somewhere warm.

The lovely lady ( sorry i didnt get her name) at reception was exceptional, friendly, helpful.

The first time we stayed after getting access to another room we were able to get a plug for the spa bath one we were able to have a spa bath that's what we enjoyed most as the spa bath was the reason we chose to stay here...

It was unclean the first time we stayed, no batteries in smoke alarm, blown plug on the only heater for the room, no plug for the spa bath...we chose to stay here again for our kid free night and to relax in the spa and enjoy time together and to our surprise we booked a room that stated we were getting a room with a spa bath and we were given a room with no spa bath...we rung to ask if they would change us to a room with a spa as that's what we booked we even told them we will pay extra they said no we asked for a refund so we can try get another motel as we couldn't afford to otherwise..they said yes but we have to ring booking.com and that would take 12 working days..even tho on booking.com they were showing they had 2 rooms available with spas like what we booked...maybe change the way we cook what room we are getting as we definitely were disappointed with what we were delt with tonight and won't be back if you can't let us see what room we are actually booking and getting!

I really appreciated the lady that works at reception. What a lovely helpful accommodating employee. Really does make a difference having such a friendly welcoming. Thank-you.

These studios were amazing value and they are comfortable and clean. Staff were lovely and informative.

Large room, heaters on so warm, close to shops, tea and coffee making facilities.

No reception available, online checkin process seeking too much information (even though to room was paid for through booking.com), dark carpark and not easy finding room once lock box system for the key sorted. There are other options nearby where I will stay in future.

Everything is tired, needs extensive repairs and maintenance. TV screen was on the way out.

I felt the room was too extensive for my dog and I.

I didn't like that the main bedroom had no TV. The main big fridge wasn't working. Substantial small fridge was donated, but was dirty and smelt mouldy. The smell put me off eating my food inside.

The lodging provides exceptional quality re. spaciousness, design, and facilities.

Sounds e.g.noise and conversations are very audible. It would be appreciated if guests were requested to be considerate off others in this regard - in particular between 1AM and 2AM.

Great location for cafes and beach. Staff were friendly and the bed was clean and comfy. Towels were replenished each day.

Unit 2 suffers from hearing every person go up and down the stairs and there’s very little sound proofing between rooms. Buses also constantly pull up outside to wait for their allotted route start time. Guests arriving are easily heard in adjacent units as are their tvs and conversations. The bathroom windows don’t close so anyone going up the stairs could see into the shower and bath if they wished.

It was lovely to stay at this property. Sarah was exceptionally friendly and seemed to be everywhere. The stay was comfortable and I loved the spa bath. Coming again.

There was poop on the curtain, black mold in the bathroom, and every wall had black marks on it. Ants were running around everywhere.

The staff were very friendly and they accepted pets. I TOTALLY LIKED THE SPA BATH 👍👍👍

The kitchenette. No sink to do dishes and the extractor (fan) in the bathroom. Each time you walked into the bathroom, or near the bathroom (in the bedroom/kitchenette), its sensors court you and it would go off again. It needs a switch to turn it off and on. I ended up having to close the bathroom door. Because it was giving me a fright when it went off.

It was fantastic that they allowed and accommodated my doggie.

Honestly, can't go past the price. I booked for 3 adults for three nights and only paid $270 odd. Now where else was anywhere close to this. Note though, I have stayed here before and the accommodation is not "up market" by any means. Built in the 1970's, there have been a number of upgrades and face lifts obviously but there is still patches of noticeable wear and tear. Everything is very clean though - the bed was fab, nice little fridge, new carpet! Big wall mounted TV, the usual things you expect to find in accommodation in this day and age - plenty of off street parking. And location - you cant beat the location. Right smack in the middle of a shopping area and less than 5 minutes walk from the beach and a fab kiddies play ground. Decided to walk to Coastlands Shopping Mall. Checked out a route which WAS NOT near main roads. Most of the walk there was through reserve land behind the airport. Beautiful, beautiful, day it was too. Took me 40 minutes one way, 40 minutes back. Plenty of cyclists, walkers and joggers. Oh, and check in and check out was so easy to do on my phone. Even out of office hours. All unit keys have their own lock box outside the main office and you are texted your lock box code before arrival. The other great thing is that I was able to have an early check in time. I did ask about that at the time of booking and the host was very accommodating.

Well, it's always nice to have a bit of luxury when you head off on holiday. U Studios Paraparaumu Beach is not luxury. It is basic and down to earth. But then, I prefer to spend my $$ on doing things and experiencing things and (dare I say it) eating out. I try to view my accommodation as somewhere clean and tidy where I can have a good shower and a great sleep. I don't need all the fancy bells and whistles.

The team rang to discuss online check-in and check-out as the reception wasn't going to be open. Everything went smoothly, and a welcome note was left in our room. Our daughters loved the jacuzzi bath.

As warned by previous reviews the rooms and buildings were a bit tired and could do with a re-paint, but I think this is fairly reflected in the pricing of the hotel. We were using it only for a place to sleep before going onto a new activity, so did not negatively impact our stay.

I loved the old-fashioned building. We had everything we needed including a deck that looked into a courtyard & a little bit of the sea. It was quiet, comfortable, spacious, good little kitchen, a big TV & a very welcoming host.

It was great for us but our apartment was upstairs so no good for anyone with mobility issues, but I think there were also ground floor units with parking close by.

It could accommodate a family of 5 which was great and the studio is centrally located, easy to walk to the shops and to the Beach. It was clean and comfortable.

The outside area and location - pretty weird overall

Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised with the appearance of the unit, which exceeded our expectation. Good water pressure in the shower.

Outward appearance did influence our opinion of the motel. It could do with a good exterior clean and maybe a paint job as well. No that happy with not being able to park our vehicle outside the unit.
