Comfortable and convenient stay. We used the hotel as a base for visiting Sutton Hoo (half an hour's drive) and Colchester (castle museum). Room was spacious and clean, staff were friendly and helpful. No problem re gluten and dairy free for breakfast. Would stay here again.

Just one problem - the hotel is in a very dead spot for phone signal (EE) and on the second night, the hotel wifi router went down. So I couldn't plan our day in Colchester in extra detail until we were away from the hotel. A frustrating issue when we are all so reliant on our phones for planning and navigation.

Hohe Parkgebühr für Gäste . Unzählige Mücken haben mich leider um den Schlaf gebracht und völlig zerstochen - dafür kann die Unterkunft aber ja nichts .

ホテルのせいではないけれど、部屋に蚊がいて刺されました。真夜中に照明をつけて、数匹を仕留めました。夕方、チェックインしたときに窓が開いていたのを知らず、しばらく開けっ放しになっていたのが原因と思われます。日本だと、電子式の蚊取り線香で対応できますが、イギリスでは無理と思い、フロントには連絡しませんでした。

Keuken zou tot 21.00 uur open zijn maar om 20.30 uur toen we aankwamen was de keuken al gesloten. Airco op de kamer was defect en de tweepersoons bedden waren wel erg smal. Voor ons volgende keer een ander hotel

Het was het einde van het seizoen en dat was te merken. Iedereen en alles leek moe te zijn hier.

Facilities were good, and well positioned property. Air conditioning worked which was needed due to the hot weather.

Breakfast was chaotic - not enough people clearing tables so restaurant was full of tables piled with plates and rubbish Parking charges were expensive and unnecessary bearing in mind that this is a hotel on a dual carriageway and no way to stay otherwise. Make sure you are an IHG member (free) and you will get free parking

The beds were extremely uncomfortable if not unsafe. I asked for more pillows which never came. I have tried to speak to the manager and she blamed me.

Ik vond de kamers wat gedateerd. Het betaald parkeren vond ik beschamend. Voor dit geld mag je verwachten dat je kosteloos kunt parkeren.

Following the stay, all colleagues reported multiple bite marks across their bodies. The extent and pattern of the bites were consistent with a suspected bed bug infestation, raising serious concerns regarding the cleanliness and condition of the accommodation provided.

The room was dirty cobwebs everywhere and bed very uncomfortable. Both mornings there was no hot breakfast left and we were in there at 8 am because the receptionist told us we need to go early as they run out of breakfast but still none terrible service

This is a great value, comfortable stop off for us. It would also make a good base for exploring the area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The facilities are good with the restaurant and bar. Food served is lovely. We will be back.

It was extremely busy at breakfast and it was hard to get a table. The staff were doing the best they could but it really was very busy.

Room.had mosquitoes, we went there pretty late as a family for a sleep and kids had mosquito bites over their faces. Since we were in a hurry to checkout we didn't discuss the specifics with the staff.

De kamers waren vies. Chips in bed die wij niet hebben gegeten. Vlekken op de grond. En als excuus te horen gekregen. Ja het was erg druk. Dat is geen excuus. Daar betalen we niet voor. Daarnaast was de dame achter de balie net een robot en stront chagrijnig. Betalen voor het parkeren. Vind ik belachelijk. Dat is bij geen hotel zo.

Lokatie is een half uur rijden vanaf het pont.

Voor het parkeren moet je betalen.

Airco was heel luid en koelde niet Er waren felle.lampen pal voor de slaapkamer op de parkeerplaats. Er werd in de nacht gegild en gescholden op de parkeerplaats. Deuren van de kamers sloten heel luid met gevolg dat er midde in denacht hele harde klappen te horen waren zodra iemand zijn kamer binnen kwamnof verliet. Al met al meer toezicht van de nachtportier, beter en vooral stiller werkende airconditioning, lampen op parkeerplaats anders positioneren en deurdrangers erop zetten.

Ga er niet meer terug. Bed oncomfortabel. Badkamer niet schoon. Ontbijt als je er niet heel vroeg bent gewoon koud. Personeel lui. Staan met 4 man te kletsen terwijl tafels niet afgeruimd en schoon worden gemaakt zowel in morgen en avond. Receptie correct maar niet vriendelijk.

I did not expect to have to pay for parking. My room smelt a little of smoke and the bedside lights did not work. One was even hanging off the fitting, which I felt could be dangerous as it was a room designed for disabled guests ( I wasn't) My room was not cleaned after our 1st night which was little disappointing

The room was not clean. It was a shock to pay £16 for parking when spending £233 for 2 nights! Also appreciate they don’t want people just taking toothbrushes home and stuff but it’s a pain having to go to reception dragging a 3 year old with you. Again, they charged enough for the room!

Very very comfy beds. Was given 2 doubles instead of 1 and a sofa bed for our daughter. Good facilities for what is basically a stopover hotel. Breakfast was great and included in the price. Brilliant bathroom hack...a blue light that you can leave on at night so you can see but not disturb others if you need to use the bathroom in the wee hours. Nearly booked another night just for the beds and the breakfast but...had to get home.

Parking was £8 for the overnight, but that's being picky. Honestly was worth it. I even googled the bed manufacturer it was so comfy.

Quiet, well appointed room (fan. iron & board, tea, coffee & hot choc). Air con was excellent, kept temperature as set, not noisy. Seating area with a sofa. Breakfast was great, good selection, re-stocked at busy times. Lots of parking.

Bedside lights didn't work, but we were only in the room for one night. Used app to park which added a service charge so nearer £10 to park overnight - maybe could have used the machine at the front of the hotel to get the advertised rate of £8? Het feit dat je het parkeren moet betalen. Door onduidelijkheid over de werking van de parkeerautomaat betaalden we zelfs het dubbele bedrag. Bij de receptie deden ze hier niets aan, eventuele terugbetaling zouden we zelf moeten regelen. Je wordt buiten begroet met een bord waarop staat: als je het parkeren niet betaalt krijg je 100 pond boete. Op je kamer hangt een bord met: als je rookt op je kamer krijg je 100 pond boete. We roken niet, maar het klinkt erg onwelkom allemaal. We dachten lekker buiten te kunnen zitten, maar dat bleek alleen voor rokers bestemd te zijn. We konden er wel zitten, maar de tafels waren smerig met afval en volle asbakken.

Once through the fire doors I noticed a change immediately. The carpets were badly worn I nearly tripped over 1time as carpet had lifted away from floor, they were badly stained part way down the corridor a different patch of what I presume was old worn carpet had been laid. Even the carpet in the bedroom had holes and marks on it , I am a single elderly lady and found it disconcerting that I was in an adjoining room. Propped the ironing board between door and my bed as didn’t feel safe. Air conditioning was loud but too hot to turn it off so didn’t sleep much

The bed was a double bed as requested and was okay; the room was okay; Breakfast was fantastic. The only downside was the absence of a fridge in the room, and parking-having to pay for parking is a no-no. My wife and I actually came to Colchester to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Everything else: Polite and helpful staff, great breakfast, aside from the fact that there was no fridge in the room and having to pay for parking was a mark down.

Small print about having to pay for the car park. This should be made clearer. Dogs are not allowed anywhere in the restaurant. There could have been a small dog friendly area as the restaurant was very informal. Alternative places offered to eat breakfast were not suitable.

We had a good night in the hotel. It was a short trip to the harbour in harwich. But unfornutly our daugter forgot on of her plusches in the room. We emaild the hotel two times. Sended a message and tried to call them but didnt get a reply or Someone on the phone to speak to.

De airconditioning werkt niet. Terwijl het heel erg warm was. Gelukkig konden de ramen wel open blijven in de nacht. De locatie zit naast het benzinestation en op een parkeerplaats pal naast de snelweg. Dit had ik niet verwacht en was niet duidelijk omschreven. De slaapbank zou ik niet gebruiken. De veren steken door het matras heen. Is erg oncomfortabel.

To be honest there wasn’t anything to say bad about it

Nettes Personal, Zimmer super angenehm und groß. Dusche mega toll mit viel Platz. Leider muss man den Parkplatz noch extra zahlen aber 8 Pfund am Tag ist ok. War nur eine Nacht also kann ich nicht sagen ob die Lage toll ist. Man hört nichts von den Nachbarn so wie in anderen Hotels.

Das schlafsofa war schon eingelegen oder kaputt.

Hallway carpets need replacing due to wear and tare. Every thing else was great.

Carpets were soiled and dirty. Booked a family room and the fold away bed for child was very uncomfortable. Mattress full of springs had to keep duvet and other clothing on ot to minimise discomfort. Parking fee despite the hotel being in the middle of no where and no demand for spaces. Electric charge point out of order

The airco was very noisy. In automatic mode, we got blasted every so often. On low, it was ineffective and still noisy.

We are returning customers and probably will keep coming back ! It was very busy and girl at reception was doing the bar as well so it took a while, still she kept smiling and gave everyone her best service/attention, excellent ! The rooms are quite big and clean. The breakfast is early enough to get to the Harwich ferry on time !

It seeems the parking is paid now, quite silly, that should be a free service for this room prices !
