Reviewed Sep 3, 2026Everything was perfect the room was well set up with an incredibly comfortable bed, Semi kitchen had everything I needed, bathroom was lovely with a gorgeous rain head shower and the view is beyond exceptional right out across the whole bay. The hosts were as always so awesome to deal with. Great communication.

Travel Insurance is crucial due to unpredictable weather in the Far North. We were unable to receive a refund due to Cyclone weather. We paid for 3 nights but could only stay for 2.

Reviewed Apr 29, 2026Beautiful views over Cable bay. Cable bay beach is lovely. Each room has its own bathroom, Everything needed in the kitchen. Loads of space in bedrooms and lounge.
Was a loud noise in one of the cupboards in one of the bedrooms. Alot of stair climbing between bedrooms with kids.

The apartment was quite small. My fault, I thought there would be cooking facilities, and we bought food to cook. Only a jug and toaster. Should have booked the larger apartments above.

Reviewed Mar 9, 2026The position and the views were stunning. The room so comfy and beautifully clean. So great to be able to sit outside and enjoy a drink with such an amazing Vista infront. It was close to the beach and ideal position for a day trip to Cape Reinga. Our hosts were informative and gave us a very useful card on places to visit on our way up to the cape.

Reviewed Mar 6, 2026We had a great stay! The apartment was beautiful and had the most amazing view of the see! Very clean and comfortable room which had everything we needed. Owner was very friendly and provided us with lots of information on the local area and day trips. We had great fun using the tennis courts, everything is provided, including body boards to use at the sand dunes and beach towels. Would highly recommend!

Reviewed Jan 13, 2026A perfect view from the little patio for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening or nighttime stargazing! Clean, comfortable room, with all amenities. Very friendly, helpful hosts, Jane and Mark. 10 minute walk downhill to the beach. Close to Cable Bay and Cooper’s Beach and 10 minute drive to Mangonui for good restaurants and a fabulous Art Gallery.
You have to walk back uphill from the beach! Ha ha! For the lower studios, there are stairs so not easy for anyone with physical disabilities.

It wasn’t very clean. The lights above the bed had crusty, flaky bits from the corroding metal, the tops of the light switches, microwave, skiting boards and cupboards were dusty/sandy, not from normal dust as the manager tried to tell me, the shower base had some mould and there were lots of black scuffs on the walls and chipped corners of the wardrobe. There were people staying upstairs and every time they went through the top door it slammed shut - day and night. Not their fault. A simple adjustment and better closing mechanism would help. The tennis racquets were very old and only 2 were suitable to use as the others all had too many broken strings.

Reviewed Dec 29, 2025Jeśli ktoś nie byłby zadowolony z noclegu w apartamencie w Doubtless Bay Villas to trudno wyobrazić mi sobie, czego by mu brakowało :) Uważam, że za tą cenę otrzymuje się tutaj dużo: przestronny, świetnie wyposażony, nowoczesny, dwupoziomowy i dobrze utrzymany apartament z oszałamiającym widokiem na ocean, położony zaraz przy plaży. Widok taki, że nie można oderwać oczu. W apartamencie: osobno łazienka z wanną, toaletą i prysznicem, osobno WC. Pralka, suszarka. W kuchni wszystko: mikrofalówka, zmywarka, indukcja, filtrowana woda, różne kawy/herbaty, środki czystości, lodówka z zamrażarką, mnóstwo naczyń, kieliszki etc. Bardzo prosto objaśniony odbiór klucza po godzinach pracy biura. Poza tym podobało nam się, że apartament nie był wypełniony niepotrzebnymi dekoracjami a z zewnątrz dochodził zapach kwitnącego jaśminu.
Dla nas nie był to minus, ale w bezpośredniej okolicy nie ma sklepów spożywczych ani restauracji. Zaopatrz się wcześniej. W Mangonui (6 km od apartamentu) jest za to świetny bar i sklep rybny - Mangonui Fish Shop, który bardzo polecamy, super obsługa i dania rybne. Poza tym, jeśli komuś przeszkadzałby huk fal oceanu podczas spania to tutaj jest on faktycznie głośny :)

Reviewed Dec 27, 2025We were in # 25, 2 bed villa and our entire stay was magical. The space was modern and spacious. Glorious, stunning views. Luxurious carpet. Super comfortable beds and sofa. The best quality hairdryer I have had at an accommodation. Well stocked kitchen. Seamless checkin and checkout. Very friendly, helpful hosts - recommended a fantastic road trip to Cape Reinga and lent us boogie boards for sand surfing at Te Paki.
Not really anything. If I had to be picky, some of the tennis court equipment could be replaced/ updated.

Reviewed Dec 9, 2025The room has as beautiful seaview as from the photo, which is fascinating. The room is super clean and has all the kitchen facility you could think of. The cookware and utensils are in super good condition and easy to use. The host are very friendly.and guide us clearly on logistics issues.
I would recommend the host to install aircon, esp. In the 2nd bedroom, which turns out to be very hot & stuffy. Night curtains are also preferred than the blinds. It is hard to sleep further after the daybreak which is around 7am these days.

A few small maintenance issues need attention. Hotplate is very old and slow. If the property was mine I would insert a grate on balcony gutter. We all slipped in it numerous times.

Take food and drinks with you as really no where to eat out close by.

Mark was very helpful from the very beginning till the end of our stay. A great host. We will definitelly stay there again in the future.
