Location and hot shower. Easy late check-in. Waimarino is a good base for exploring.

My daughter and I were on a road trip from Auckland we chose this Hotel because it was central to Turoa Ski Resort and Mt Ruapehu WHAKAPAPA Ski Resort we also wanted a hotel that had a Restaurant to dine in breakfast lunch and dinner

Onsite restaurant was great for dinners! Loved the location, close enough to Whakapapa.

the front deskstaff was very accommodating and flexible. We originally booked the family room however, their family rooms were all upstairs and there were unfortunately, no lifts to accommodate our disabled company. They were happy enough to swap our rooms to somewhere more convenient. Luckily enough, there were still some availabilities.

their walls and floorings are so paper thin that when you stay in a room on the ground floor, you hear everything

Good location!

All staff at reception and restaurant were super lovely. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Restaurant and bar is cosy, food was good and drinks prices very reasonable.

Just lacking a few basic things, not enough hooks / rails for towels in bathroom and no vanity to put items on. An empty kettle that doesn't fit in the small hand basin to fill so need to use a glass or cup to fill. Rooms seem well thermally insulated but not well soundproofed, we were on lower floor 1st night with family above, every child's run, adult's footsteps, TV, voices and bathroom could be heard. we didn't quite get the early night we hoped and an earlier rise than expected! We requested a move up a floor for 2nd night, much better.

Convenient location when driving, and close to the mountains. Room was clean and comfortable. It was nice to have the hot tub option (although I didn't use it), and after a rainy day of walking, I really appreciated having a drying room!

Bathroom was surprisingly tiny, and the shower somehow managed to have too high water pressure - not something I remember ever experiencing before, it was kind of uncomfortable and couldn't be adjusted. Having a window that gave to the inner courtyard and was close to the pool made for a somewhat noisy experience, as people kept walking past my room, and I had to keep the curtain closed most of the time because I'd rather not have people staring at me.

Staff were very helpful and made visitors welcome and caring. the rooms were well heated bathroom good size. property is good for the mountains for accommodation. Beautiful views.

Because of the accident that happened in the carpark perhaps more lights in carparking areas it would help.

The communal fireplace in the restaurant bar was fantastic

Only breakfast option was a buffet, and when we questioned staff if there were alternative options they said no. But later discovered there were. Rooms very small.

Very warm and clean room are what we need! Great location to Whakapapa for skiing. Great value for family room. Washing machine and dryer available operate with coin from receptionist. Dryer room available to dry ski clothing over night for free. Hot tub looks fun!

Not sound proof but we're lucky we had understanable neighbour next doors. Not sure about pet friendly, better check with them if you have fur alergy.

Location was perfect for access to the mountains

The room was small for the cost (though that's par for the course given the location), the hotel was a bit tired and the staff were patchy in their customer service.

Place for hanging clothes over too high and challenging over the jug. Footsteps from upstairs all night was disruptive. A second chair would be helpful in a twin room.

Personnel de l'accueil à l'écoute des clients. Le jaccuzi très appréciable après une journée à la station de ski. Petit salon de l'espace commun, proche de la cheminée, très agréable.

Nous sommes arrivés par le train et il n'y a pas de transport prévu entre la gare et l'hôtel, même si l'on contacte l'hôtel avant le départ. La réponse est que l'hôtel est à environ 15 minutes à pied. L'hôtel n'est pas très loin certes mais pas facile d'y aller lorsque vous avez plusieurs bagages. L'air glacial entrait par les fenêtres de la chambre qui n'étaient pas hermétiques...

So noisy. From everywhere. The people upstairs constantly walking from 4am. Kids jumping in the corridor and it’s not their fault. Just really thin walls and you can hear everything.

Les chambres sont malheureusement petites. Il est difficile d'ouvrir 2 valises en même temps.

Il n’y a pas d’isolement entre les chambres, ont entend tout ce qui ce passe dans les autres chambres

L'hotel est confortable et propose une ambiance chaleureuse comme si nous étions dans un chalet au ski. Le restaurant est vraiment succulent, le coin près de la cheminée est superbe, les chambres ne sont pas très grandes mais elles sont propres, bien chauffées, la literie est confortable, tout est suffisant pour un séjour de quelques jours au ski. Le parking est grand, l'entrée de l'hotel est belle et le jacuzzi qui est proposé est aussi très appréciable de même que la salle de la laverie.

Il n'y avait pas de spaghetti bolognese au menu enfant durant tout notre séjour. Certains membres du personnel n'étaient pas très souriants. Le prix de la chambre est légèrement onéreux pour la taille de la pièce.

Easy to check in after hours, including responsive communication and clear instructions. Room was warm and clean. Shower was hot and had good pressure. Spa pools were clean and warm, and available when we wanted to use them.

The bathroom door is the sliding type that doesn't block noise or smell. If you're sleeping on the bottom floor beds (next to this door) and you're a light sleeper, you're likely to have broken sleep. My partner found the bed extremely soft, to the point it was uncomfortable.

Hôtel vraiment bien placé , convivial , le restaurant avec sa cheminée en hiver est un atout exceptionnel de l’établissement que nous avons beaucoup apprécié ! Nous étions en famille avec des enfants . Le chauffage dans les chambres à notre arrivée été très apprécié. Le personnel est charmant, et les repas du dîner un vrai délice pour les adultes et les enfants. Bravo au cuistot ! Un endroit simple avec une ambiance chaleureuse ! Nous y sommes restées 3 nuits pour le ski, même si les chambres sont assez petites , il y a tout le nécessaire pour passer un agréable séjour ! Les 2 jacuzzi ont été très apprécié également . Nothing really

The property was clean and comfortable. We love the comfort vibe it brings. The distance from snow area is great, especially if you have little ones. We love the room that is so comfortable, clean sheets, and the bathroom. Especially soap and shampoo smells amazing. We also love the Spiral Restaurant, and the fireplace.

Food is 5/10. I wish they could do something about the food. It tastes bland, we ordered ribs and it’s too dry. But the chowder is perfect and the garlic bread.

Loved that it was so close to the mountain for skiing. The restaurant was top notch with delicious food and the spa pools were a really nice touch!

Quite tight in the rooms for 4 people but we didn't really spend any time in them due to skiing so it was more than adequate for what we needed as a family.
