B&B Villa San Marco

Refreshing oasis with spectacular view of archaeological park temples both day and night. Hosts are extremely pleasant. Wish we could have stayed another night.

Salvatore, Peppino y familia regentan un hotel precioso en mitad de la naturaleza, una villa con un gusto impecable y con unas vistas a los templos que parecen de mentira. El desayuno es un poco caro pero merece la pena, abundante y rico. Si no te gustan los animales, el campo, los bichos o los caminos de tierra, no es tu sitio. Para todos los demás, lo recomiendo mucho.

View was outstanding. Food was tasty and the pool and deck were lovely. A/C worked well staff were friendly and the accommodation was clean but basic.

The wasps at breakfast were annoying and the towels could be upgraded.

This was truly just a wonderful place to stay. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we felt so welcome, so looked after and honestly it felt like there's nothing we could've asked that would've been too much. It was comfortable, clean, beautiful and the dinner / breakfast were absolutely delicious. If we ever come back to the area there is nowhere else we'd stay. Thank you so much to this wonderful family!

Posto incantevole che ricorda i fasti passati della meravigliosa Sicilia. La posizione è incredibile: fare il bagno in piscina con vista sui templi non ha prezzo! Ci si perde ad osservare questa meraviglia! La colazione poi è incredibile. Tutto preparato con amore e attenzione. Il cous cous dolce è stata una sorpresa! Il succo di anguria e lo yogurt fatto in casa una vera delizia. Un posto dal quale non vorresti andare via.

Purtroppo, complice anche la carenza d acqua, la struttura non era al massimo delle sue prestazioni in termini di ordine e pulizia. Mi auguro che la famiglia che lo gestisce (persone oltretutto fantastiche e accoglienti!) possa trovare una soluzione perché questa struttura merita di splendere al meglio!

Heel leuk en mooi ingericht terrein: mooie tuin met zitjes, erg mooi gelegen zwembad, erg leuk om dagelijks een paar keer een rondje langs de dieren te lopen. Vriendelijke gastheer, die steeds zeer goed bereikbaar was en snel op vragen reageerde. We hebben er echt genoten. Alles bij elkaar gaf een heerlijk vakantiegevoel.

De inrichting van het appartement. Maar dit is smaak. Hoewel het naar onze smaak wat oubollig is, vonden we ook dat het ook bij de charme van het appartement hoorde. De bedden zijn goed. Wifi werkte niet erg goed bij ons. De hoeveelheid en kwaliteit pannen mag wat hoger, net als hoeveelheid servies.

I liked the rustic vibe of the property.

The rooms were a bit dirty, the pool water was green and over all, the garden area was quite messy and dirty. The house had a lot of dust.

Villa San Marco is a short drive from the Valley of the Temples. After you've spent a few hot hours exploring the site it's a calming oasis to come back to! Vincenzo and Salvatore are great communicators and the directions to find the Villa were perfect. It's a lovely relaxed setting and guests are made to feel welcome to wander about the grounds and see the animals. There's a room in the main house which has an honesty bar for guests for beer, wine, water and soft drinks. The terrace in the front has tables and chairs and a swimming pool for guests to use which was such a treat after the heat of the Temples. From the pool you can see the temples and as the sun sets the view just gets better. Two lovely older dogs wander around or nap in the shade, the majestic peacock struts his stuff and the ginger kitty is super friendly. In the farm area there are chickens, geese, ducks, pigs (and piglets!) and a donkey. Sadly we didn't book breakfast as we had too early a start back to Palermo airport but I caught a glimpse of breakfast being laid out and it looked amazing. Vincenzo kindly made us a delicious coffee to get us on our way.

Sehr freundliche Gastgeber. Die Lage und der Blick auf das Valle dei Templi war großartig. Das Frühstück war unglaublich lecker.

Man merkt, dass sie sich um die Tiere gut kümmern und diese auch kennen. Ein bisschen mehr Sauberkeit hinter dem Haus und in den Anlagen der Tiere wäre aber möglich. Der Weg ist wirklich nicht schön, aber machbar. 😅

La tranquillità e la posizione sono sicuramente i punti di forza di questa struttura, con una vista sul Tempio della Concordia davvero mozzafiato! Il personale è molto accogliente e disponibile a recepire le esigenze degli ospiti.

La struttura ha enormi potenzialità ma l'ho trovata un po' trascurata in termini di manutenzione e cura degli spazi esterni.

pas grand chose. juste faire attention si vous avez une voiture basse pour accéder au lieu. mais on vous prévient à l' avance avec une super communication de la part des hôtes

L'emplacement est exceptionnel. Vue sur la vallée des temples. Dans une villa sicilienne. Le petit déjeuner était exceptionnel avec des produits locaux. Le jardin est fabuleux. La route pour acceder à l'endroit peut paraitre rebutante mais cela n'est pas un problème du tout. Quand on arrive, on se retrouve complètement plongé dans la campagne sicilienne. Au milieu des paons et autres animaux. L'endroit est atypique!

La chambre est un peu vétuste mais cela fait parti du charme du lieu.

Les installations sont vieillissantes et elles manquent d entretiens. La piscine est à rénover, le site est peu entretenu.

Nous venons de passer un séjour absolument merveilleux à la Villa San Marco. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis avec le sourire et une gentillesse exceptionnelle. L’endroit est tout simplement magnifique : un véritable havre de paix, avec une maison décorée dans le plus pur style sicilien, on en prend plein les yeux. Les jardins sont magnifiques. La piscine avec vue sur les temples est incroyable. Et encore plus le soir, lorsque les temples s’illuminent. Le réveil au chant des oiseaux et la visite des animaux.(paon,chat,chien....) Le petit déjeuner mérite une mention toute particulière, atypique avec un petit coup de cœur pour le couscous sucré, une merveilleuse découverte que nous n’oublierons pas ! On se sent réellement comme chez soi, grâce à des hôtes attentionnés et toujours aux petits soins. C’était une expérience inoubliable et nous regrettons de ne pas avoir réservé une nuit supplémentaire pour profiter davantage de ce lieu exceptionnel. Une chose est certaine : nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir. Merci pour tout ! 🌿✨🏛️

The location was perfect, the pool with the view on the tempels. The family that runs the B&B was lovely, you feel the love in everything. We had an amazing breakfast, joined the dinner which was also nice and we had a wonderful chat the morning of our check out.

We really loved our stay. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. We stayed in room no. 4 and it had a lovely open area with a little kitchen and living area. A pheasant said good morning. There was a donkey, baby piglets, dogs, lots of pheasants roaming around a the cutest little kitten. The house and the property are full of character. Salvatore made us feel welcome and gave us a great introduction at check-in. We will never forget the refreshing beautiful pool, which also offers direct views of the Temples as a backdrop; lit in the dark. Our little car had no trouble getting there and we took it for a short drive to the Valley of Temples where had a guided sunset tour. For dinner Margherita, one of the daughters of the house, cooked a fantastic dinner for us. Thank you so much! Just remember you have to book this ahead (30€/person). You get the menu on the day in the morning and then you can decide.

L’emplacement est tout juste incroyable, devant la vallée des temples. La vue de nuit est magnifique. L’établissement est très bien décoré, très typique. On y voit des animaux, il y a une piscine (avec 48 degrés dehors c’est appréciable). Le petit déjeuner est atypique mais excellent. Si l’on vous propose le repas du soir, n’hésitez pas une seconde, c’est parfait 👍.

Une parenthèse enchantée dans la folie humaine o))) La localisation fait rêver et l'installation confirme le plaisir de découvrir le charme d'une maison au cœur d'une site archéologique et d'un jardin magnifique. L'accueil est chaleureux et chacun à à cœur de satisfaire les hôtes. Le réveil au chant des oiseaux : quel bonheur d'être presque en ville sans les inconvénients. Le petit-déjeuner est mémorable ... produits frais et cuisinés sur place. Cerise sur le gâteau : place de parking dans la propriété.

C'est un véritable havre de paix avec une vue incroyable sur les temples..et la.piscine un vrai bonheur!. L'accueil était à l'image du lieu et nous avons très bien mangé le soir. Nous le recommandons aux autres voyageurs!

Il n'y a pas vraiment de mots pour décrire la Villa San Marco. C'est une expérience à vivre, et je l'espère à revivre. C'est un endroit magique, comme on ne peut se l'imaginer. Un lieu qui se mérite (nous nous souviendrons toute notre vie de cette allée 😅), mais quel havre de paix... Le chant des paons et des poules, le soin apporté aux détails, l'accueil exceptionnel de cette famille qui nous reçoit si chaleureusement, le petit déjeuner, la piscine avec vue sur les temples (de jour comme de nuit grâce aux illuminations), le charme inouï de cette demeure, le menu personnalisé du petit déjeuner, les marques de confiance qu'on a presque oubliées de cette époque où les bed and breakfasts étaient appréciés pour cette confiance réciproque qui donne envie de contribuer à l'harmonie du lieu... je me suis sentie envahie par la reconnaissance dans cet endroit qui semblait sortir d'un beau rêve. Un immense merci à Salvatore, à son frère et à leur papa pour cette expérience unique et inoubliable. Nous reviendrons, et cette fois nous resterons une semaine!

L'électricité et le wifi semblaient capricieux. Je ne compterais pas sur cet endroit pour télétravailler par exemple (visio etc). En même temps, la Villa San Marco a l'âme d'une maison de vacances et non d'un bureau à Dubai... et heureusement!

We loved everything

Salvatore was a great host! Room was not ready when we arrived, so he gave us a bottle of excellent Sicilian wine to make up for it. Was fantastic to stay on a working farm, complete with beautiful peacocks. Very convenient to the Valley of the Temples, and the views are amazing. Best breakfast we had in Sicily. Highly recommend. The road is an adventure, but not bad at all.

Die Lage ist ein Traum: mitten in herrlichster Natur, die Tempel von Akragas in Sichtweite, dahinter das Meer. Sehr schön die vielen Tiere. Sehr angenehm: der kleine Pool. Überall viele Sitzgelegenheiten. Totale Ruhe, bis auf die nicht störenden Rufe der frei laufenden Pfauen, Sehr nette, engagierte Familie, die Villa Marco betreibt.

Der Weg zur Villa Marco ist sehr mühsam, 10 Min. durch tiefe Schlaglöcher auf Sandpiste. Das Bad ist arg in die Jahre bekommen, braucht Erneuerung.

I have stayed at many gh/hotels/hostels in 70+ countries and this is one of the best places I have ever stayed at. My kids loved the surroundings with all the animals, and the pool view is just amazing. The staff are very nice and welcoming and I really recommend the homemade breakfast, with a great selection of locally produced food.

La Villa, situada en mitad del valle los templos, en plena naturaleza y fuera del bullicio de la ciudad de Agrigento. Un trato cercano y amabilísimo por parte de la familia que lo gestiona. El apartamento enorme y perfectamente equipado, limpio y cómodo. La cena, cocina casera local, nos encantó. Un placer habernos alojado allí!

Amazingly beautiful property! The gardens, the animals, the views were lovely, I didn’t want to go and see anything else 😁 The room was large and comfortable. The view of the temples was great, especially at night when they were lit. The grounds of the property are extensive, full of flowers and trees, with cats and dogs and peacocks and lizards and other farm animals in their enclosures. The owners served delicious breakfasts and dinners and they were very kind and thoughtfull.

Nos encantó la atención del personal: fue muy familiar. El desayuno estuvo muy bien. Sobre la ubicación, aunque el acceso es un poco difícil, las vistas son excepcionales. Sinceramente creo que presumen poco de su ubicación. Podrían sacarle más partido.

I don't know where to start with this review. It is one of the best experiences in my life. Communication was perfect! The place is just amazing, animals roaming around, clean, beautiful, everyone is so welcoming and kind. I cannot recommend this place more. In the heart of Valle dei Templi. You can chill next to the pool and enjoy the history. Everything you may need is there. I recommend staying there at least a few days as we had a short stay and for sure i will come back. Please note that the road to the place is not suited for a small, low car bit trust me, it is worth it. I am in love with everything there. Thank you for taking such a good care of us!

Felt like being in a family home. The staff was incredibly friendly, especially Salvatore. Margherita made us an fantastic dinner that we will remember for sure.

Predivan pogled i što je smješteno u prirodi (biljke, drveće,...) i suživot sa životinjama (mačke, psi,..). Prava hacienda. Imali smo duplex, svaka soba je imala svoju klimu što je plus u kipućim danima.

Prilazna cesta (naglašeno je da je loša ali sa nešto šljunka bi se trebala poboljšati. I makadamska cesta može biti dobra a ova je puna rupa i kamenja); očekivali smo bolju ponudu za doručak....s obzirom da smo na domaćem gospodarstvu pa smo se veselili nekim domaćim proizvodima za doručak.

What a lovely family run villa! Loved everything about it! The food was so good - don’t hesitate to eat dinner and breakfast! Beautiful setting with views of the Valli de Temples. The animals were fun to see. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. The room was great and we had a large upper patio.

Es un lugar agreste muy auténtico con una vista magnífica y en plena naturaleza. El personal muy agradable. El desayuno me dejó boquiabierta por ser delicioso casero, original y completo degustado en la galería terraza en pleno verdor

We’ve been travelling around Sicily for eight days now, and I can honestly say this was our best experience on the island. An outstanding place, run by a family who has owned the estate for 200 years. Surrounded by nature, animals, breathtaking views, a beautiful main house, and several rooms scattered around the property. It is peaceful, beautiful, rural, and truly unique. A must-visit — and definitely worth staying at for at least one night. The family cooked us traditional Sicilian dishes, which made the whole experience even more special. In a nutshell, this is a unique experience that no hotel can offer, because it feels real: hosted in a proper family home, by the family members themselves.

Trattasi di una villa antica immersa nel verde, per arrivarci bisogna percorrere una strada sterrata ma ne vale la pena perché una volta essere all' interno della residenza, ti ritroverai in un altro mondo! Hands down, the warm welcome and hospitality of Vincenzo, Salvatore and their family! We felt like honoured guests from check-in to check-out. The breakfast is worth the punt and we wish we had taken up the offer for dinner. The communication provided pre-stay was great. You are given fair warning about the state of the road leading up to the property, so be mindful of that when considering your car and its coverage. Great location for the Valley of the Temples!

빌라는 생각 이상으로 넓은 면적이고, 강아지와 고양이 뿐만 아니라 공작새가 빌라 안을 유유히 걸어다니는 상상할수 없는 숙박 장소. 숙소 창밖으로는 멀리 신전이 보이는 다시볼수 없는 환상적인 경험을 하였음. Salvatore를 비롯한 모든 스텝들은 매우 친절하고 환대를 받음. 숙박비에 비해 너무 가치있는 좋은 곳임. 강력 추천.

THIS PLACE WAS OUTSTANDING. A real punch yourself place, once in a lifetime. The location was beyond astounding, the views of the temples were ridiculous. The owners were all a family and couldn't have cared more. There was amazing animals on site, different places to sit and look at the temples. More birds than my bird app could even listen to. The dinner and breakfast were unbelievable and all grown on site. The track is a bit bumpy but do not let this put you off, any rental normal car is fine as long as it's not something low like a Porsche - just take it steady. I will recommend this place over and over and over.

The fact we only booked one night, we were genuinely sad to leave.

Hosts were great felt like part of the family. All the animals were pretty cool. Room was comfortable.

We had such a wonderful time at Villa San Marco. The house is set in countryside overlooking the valley of the temples. Our kids particularly enjoyed the farm animals and swimming pool. Breakfast on site was also delicious! The hosts are a family and were very helpful and generous with their time. Grazie mille!

Excelentes vistas. Las mejores! Anfitriones cálidos, amables y muy atentos. Exquisito desayuno.. un lugar soñado. Lleno de paz, tranquilidad e historia.

Die Aussicht auf die Tempel , die Umgebung, die Freundlichkeit und das Bemühen der Familie. Dafür die Punkte. Mehr gab es leider nicht.

Tiere im Garten wäre ja ok. Tauben, die über dem Frühstücksgeschirr wohnen, ungepflegte Hunde und Katzen am Frühstückstisch und anders Getier überall inklusive der Extremente sind es nicht. Wer sich davor nicht ekelt ist hier richtig. Ein Pfau ist ein schönes Tier, wenn er aber unsere Terasse hinter dem Schlafzimmer dauerhaft bewohnt und auch beschmutzt, mit Weckrufen in der Nacht, dann fällt das Mögen schwer.. Die Bezeichnung Villa erweckt einen falschen Eindruck und die Beschreibung bei Booking.com ist irreführend.. Die Bewertungen sind für mich nur nachvollziehbar, wenn man ein extremer Tierfreund ist und das reicht. Wir haben nach einer Nacht das Gehöft verlassen, die andere haben wir bezahlt, aber woanders wirklich schön übernachtet mit ebenfalls schönem Blick auf die Tempel.

What a unique and charming location! The breakfast (extra fee) was wonderful, the hosts were incredibly welcoming and kind, and the location was stunning. There are amazing views of the Temples of the Valley from the property, and the animals on the property was such a delight, especially for our children. The pool was an added bonus and featured a nesting peacock next to it while we where there. We even got to see an owl hunting at night. So happy we chose to stay here!

We liked everything so much! We had a rental SUV and the road in was no problem at all with that vehicle. In fact, I'd say some of the roads in Agrigento proper were harder to navigate than the road to Villa San Macro. Thanks for such a special stay!

I loved everything about this B&B. Salvatore was amazing the way he made me feel at home and took care of my needs especially finding transport to and from places I was touring. He and his whole family were so warm and I loved the experience of having a home-cooked authentic dinner by his sister. The location is stunning with amazing views of the valley of the temples and what really sold me on this B&B were the animals on the farm and wandering around the property. Plus the breakfast was fantastic!!!!

Las vistas son impresionantes . La amabilidad de los hijos de los dueños es de apkauso ademas de hablar muy buen español . La confianza de ofrecer vino o cerveza y que tu seas quien depisita el precio en un bote es admirable . Lo original de los salones y los rincones del jardin

El aga de la piscina estaba limpisima , pero en los extremos se deberia pasar un poco mas el limpiafondos

Top in allen Belangen! Für uns als Familie war es ein toller Aufenthalt. Es lohnt sich sehr, die etwas anspruchsvollere Anfahrt in Kauf zu nehmen. Super nette Gastgeber, toller Pool, tolle Aussicht, super Essen! Danke für die schöne Zeit in B&B Villa san Marco!
