Beautiful interior, very polite and accommodating staff, great variety for fun service and drinks.

As there was renovation work underway (which we were not made aware of), from 9 to 5 everyday of our stay, there was a loud drilling and banging noise right above us, which made it impossible to stay in the hotel. Had we known about this, we would have booked a different hotel. I think in light of this, compensation in good faith should be given to guests.

I like the location as its walking distance from my place of visit. Plus there are fab Bengali restaurants next door.

That they don't me after regular stays. The shower stall drainage is bad. Water collects.

Wir wohnten im 2. OG. Im ersten OG fand eine Party statt. Laute Musik drang bis in unser Zimmer. Bis 23.30 Uhr hatten wir was davon. Ich empfehle bei der Buchung nachzufragen, ob laute Musik im Zimmer wahrzunehmen ist. Ggf. auf ein Zimmer bestehen, welches weiter von dem Partygeräusch entfernt liegt.

In addition to all the good amenities expected from the hotel, we were glad to get a beautiful baby crib :). Breakfast was also great.

Second time in The Sonnet, second time, my opinion is that the hotel is really great. Great facilities, good food, very friendly service! It is a great alternative to the 5-star hotels in Kolkata. For half the price, you get a comparable quality. Also, I had more time to visit the neighbourhood and found several cool bars and restaurants. Getting more and more into Kolkata ;-) Next time I will also stay in the Sonnet!

Sonnet is perfect for business stay - the staff is extremely courteous and helpful! The room is comfortable and food is delicious. Highly recommend is one is looking for value for money!

Good location, well sized rooms

We had booked executive rooms and were surprised to find they only had twin beds in the rooms instead of a queen or king bed. The room to room intercoms didnt work. Though rooms were newly renovated, there was a musty smell. The staff just stuck to their tasks and no pleasantries. We had a friend come in to meet us at the main lobby and had moved one of the chairs around. The reception staff just walked up and asked us to move the chair back rudely. At the buffet breakfast too, staff had to be asked multiple times to give us our orders.

Location works for me. The fact that I came back to stay within a month was not acknowledged ....the new room was poorer than the first (508). Please note that I will go every month for 3N for next 6 months. So I will expect better next time

The shower stall over flows. Hand towels are not replenished. The breakfast is frugal.

It might have been a 4 star hotel in the 90s. But in 2025 it needs major uplift. Having no AC in the corridors was a disappointment as one feels very hot. Then, the carpet in the corridor psychologically makes one feel hot. Lifts are quite small and one was under maintenance. I had to get the shower stopper repaired as it kept falling off. The towels were really old. The bed cover had strange black dirt on it. House keeping were very prompt in changing the bed linen. On the positive side, the staff were very receptive and took care of all issues reported.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Sonnet, Bidhannagar from December 23, 2024, to January 5, 2025, and my experience was nothing short of outstanding. Their professionalism, courtesy, and attention to detail set the tone for a truly delightful stay. Throughout my time at The Sonnet, I was continually impressed by the impeccable hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make sure every aspect of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Whether it was room service, housekeeping, or the restaurant team, everyone was friendly, efficient, and always eager to help with a smile. The rooms were well-maintained, spacious, and equipped with all modern amenities, providing a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. The food at the in-house restaurant was delicious, offering a variety of choices that catered to different tastes. The quality of service, both in the restaurant and in-room dining, was exemplary. A special mention to the reception team, whose warmth and professionalism truly stood out. They were always available to assist with any queries, from travel arrangements to local recommendations, ensuring that I had a seamless experience. Overall, my stay at The Sonnet was exceptional, thanks to the wonderful staff, top-notch hospitality, and excellent service. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kolkata.

This was our fourth stay at the Sonnet. Clearly, we like the place. I have reviewed the Sonnet on all my previous visits and so there is not much to add. The Sonnet continues to provide good value for money. The location right next to City Centre Mall is great. There is ample parking right outside which is great since parking can often be an issue in Kolkata. The staff are friendly. The breakfast is quite good. We had two rooms with a large double bed, a desk and additional seating. Our room had a large sofa but some rooms have a two-seater couch. I really appreciate the desk since it allows one to do work if one wishes.

Overall. I continue to recommend the Sonnet as good value for money. But I have to say that the property is growing old and there are some wears and tears. In our bathroom (410) the water in the shower did not drain properly flooding the entire floor. We also often had to ask for things like towels. Again, these are minor issues and for those looking for a comfortable stay in the Salt Lake area, The Sonnet continues to offer good value for money. During this particular stay, I stayed at the Ibis and Lynq Aero, both in the general area of Salt Lake New Town and all in the same price range (IBIS was a little more expensive and Lynq Aero a little cheaper); of the three I would probably rate the Sonnet the highest in terms of dollar for dollar comfort.

The In Room Dining facility is absolutely terrible. Infact the hotel was great but the entire room service and reception staff were terrible.

In room Dining service, Room Service in General, Staff of the hotel. Customer service doesnt exist in this place. In fact they harass you as many time in your room not giving you privacy and knocking on the door for unnecessary things even after clear communication to them not to disturb.
