Temple Tree Resort

Temple Tree is a beautiful resort, our 2 bed house was restored thoughtfully, and the reception area and restaurant were really nice spaces. The pool also was lovely. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, and we ate there a few times and each time the food was great! Location was also good - close enough to town without being in it meaning it was quieter. No issues getting Grabs down to town when we wanted to.

There were aircon units in each of the bedrooms which kept it nice and cool for sleeping but the property would really have benefit from aircon in the lounge. The house was so hot that we were unable to use the lounge at all, which was a shame as it's a nice space. We also had cockroaches in the bathroom but maybe this is to be expected in this climate (and in a property where there are gaps in the walls and floor because it's an old house)

We had a lovely stay. The manager was incredibly welcoming and had a personal approach which made us feel welcome and at home and the staff were all lovely and helpful. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, making it a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature. It's very close to the beach, a 20 minute walk or 5 minutes with a grab. The pool from the resort itself is also an option if you want a swim. Breakfast was plentiful and was a wonderful way to start the day. The airport is 15 minutes away by car so not far at all. As a bonus you'll spot the cutest cats walking around the resort.

Just be aware that this is a tropical, nature-filled environment, so you will naturally encounter some bugs. However, the mosquito net around the bed keeps them well away at night. Overall, a beautiful place with a lovely atmosphere and genuinely warm hospitality.

Staff were all lovely, the whole place is so quaint and picturesque, loved the house cats everywhere, lovely breakfasts and dinners, nice pool.

Only thing I didn't love was that our room was very noisy. Estate house 5 right by the driveway and reception so quite noisy. Nothing that they can do about it but I'd avoid thatcroom in future. Otherwise I'd happily stay there again and again.

A deux pas de l'aéroport et de la plage de Pentai Cenang tout en étant caché dans un écrin de verdure. Nous avons adoré la beauté du jardin, le charme de notre maison malaisienne (Negri), la qualité de la restauration et la gentillesse du personnel. Dommage que ce soit si loin car nous serions revenus avec plaisir.

The total setting, the beautiful old heritage home combined with the modern restaurant, was amazing. The staff were wonderful, especially Miss K.

There was a small miscommunication upon arrival, but they picked it up immediately and handled it perfectly.

Wunderschönes und aussergewöhnliches Hotel mit verschiedenen Kolonialvillen in einem wunderschön angelegten tropischen Garten, mit langem Pool, in dem man auch richtig schwimmen kann. Die Häuser sind sehr geschmackvoll und bequem eingerichtet und entsprechen dem historischen Charm der Häuser. Das Personal ist sehr herzlich und freundlich. Wir haben uns extrem wohl gefühlt. Das Frühstück und Essen ist sehr gut. Vom Flughafen ist nichts zu hören.

Staff were amazing! Breakfast was delicious, the Nasi Lemak is a must try. The grounds and gardens lovely and tranquil. The heritage buildings and decor were beautiful.

We had a leak through the bedroom window during torrential rain due to a gap in the window frame. Luckily it was just resulted in a large puddle on the floor. Staff were helping in cleaning up. The pathways can get flooded during heavy rain, which means you get wet feet but drained really fast after the rain stopped.

Lovely old restored buildings, beautiful gardens, relaxing. Fabulous breakfast in choice, coffee and ambiance. Helpful, friendly and very welcoming staff on the front desk and in the restaurant.

Pool is lovely but has rough edges (have to be careful not to scratch yourself) but very relaxing and beautiful surroundings.

I loved the colonial houses and how peaceful the surrounding area was! There weren’t really any mosquitoes around (that I noticed) but the staff were vigilant with the insect repellent routine especially during turn down service. I also loved the food during my stay! Very yummy

An beautiful hotel. Every house/room is unique with their own story and harvested all over Malaysia and brought to the hotel. Some of the building are over a century old, but with all the modern commodities any traveller would want. We stayed in the plantation 3 and it was ideal for our family with 2 connected rooms and a bathroom. Breakfast is included and it is very generous in quantity and choice. And the staff is as beautiful and welcoming as the hotel itself. We cannot recommended any higher. We will come back for sure. BTW, the photos don’t do justice to the hotel.

There are mosquitos around but the hotel does everything they can for you to be comfortable and to control them

The pool is made of rough granite and not nice to swim at all. The room doors don't close properly with many uncomfortable peeping holes.

Good escape from the normal Langkawi

I had a wonderful stay in Temple Tree. From the moment I checked in, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive to my needs. The room was clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud. The hotel boasts a lovely, peaceful atmosphere with beautiful surroundings including the gardens which was great for unwinding. The food I had for dinner and breakfast was also very tasty!

Location, food, staff, engagement with the staff. Mal was very helpful and gave us tips on sights to see. Special touch was the yoga session in the garden.

Очень красивый отель и виллы, постоянно хотелось фотографировать детали. Прекрасный приветливый персонал, но немного расслабленный, особенно в плане уборки, но на все просьбы реагировали быстро и с улыбкой. Бесплатно выдавали нам ведра льда в номер, в соседнем отеле нам этот лед продавали. Хорошие кондиционер в спальне, чем редко могут похвастаться исторические здания. Хорошее расположение, если у вас машина. До аэропорта 10 минут приятной поездки вдоль берега. Почти напротив пирс, с которого можно доплыть до острова Ребак. Общее впечатление чудесное, однозначно рекомендуем.

Не понравилось всё, что связано с едой в отеле: 1. Завтраки очень скудные, если убрать приготовление омлетов и яичниц на заказ, то есть практически нечего. Читала в отзывах про красную рыбу - не встретили её. В наличии только все виды булок и хлеба, но что делать с этим хлебом при отсутствии ветчины или какого-то другого составляющего для сочетания с хлебом - непонятно. Судя по обилию джемов нужно мазать на хлеб их. Если что-то заканчивается, то без специальной просьбы принести еще не восполнится. Соки все растворимые. 2. Один раз поужинали в ресторане, заказали морскую тарелку на компанию, предварительно спросили на какое количество людей рассчитано блюдо, ответ был на 3-4 человек. В итоге принесли 6 килек в листе пальмы, 6 креветок в кляре и стрипсы в том же количестве. В голове представлялось совсем иное блюдо. Больше в ресторан не ходили. Впечатление не испортило, мы не есть приехали, но факт остается фактом. Для высоких людей максимально странно расположен унитаз в туалете. Коленями в стену. Муж пожелал архитектору всю жизнь пользоваться таким устройством))

This was our third stay at Temple Tree and we love the hotel. The resort has a lot of charm, the pool area is beautiful and the restaurant is great. It's also a super convenient location. They were very accommodating with baggage and access to facilities before and after check-in. The room itself was super clean and well cleaned each day of our stay too.

We always wish there was better attention around the pool area in terms of cleaning up drinks/plates, and offering drinks service. You always have to go up into the restaurant to order - a waiter doing a lap of the pool every half an hour or so would be helpful, and certainly during happy hours would probably result in more sales!

Breakfast was excellent, just little suggestion to put cover on your hot meal items. similarly to your fresh cut fruits.

Beautiful setting, so peaceful and relaxing. We loved having the balcony to sit in each evening and listen to the sounds of nature. The gardens and pool are beautiful and all the buildings are so lovely. The staff are so friendly, food and drinks were good. We were able to walk to the beach or easy to get a Grab.

A stunning little resort with authentic heritage buildings and a beautiful garden. The restaurant had delicious food and great happy hour options. The staff were great and the atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming.

The only problem I encountered was that the AC unit was very loud which made it hard to sleep, even with earplugs.

What’s not to love, it’s a gorgeous boutique hotel thoughtfully curated and every small detail has been considered.

That we had to go home. 😂

距离机场很近。非常有特色的房子，房间都挺大的而且干净。游泳池边上有冰柠檬水提供实在太棒了。餐厅早餐还不错，其他时间段也可以在这里吃，味道总体不错。距离珍南沙滩步行要30分钟，附近有其他餐厅，不过最快也要走16分钟。散养着几只猫，都很可爱。员工服务都很好。

因为是木板建筑，隔音会有点差。这次住的房间的空调制冷效果不太行。

I loved the coziness and history of this property. We moved around different houses (as unfortunately the AC in the house we rented was not working properly so we got upgraded to a nicer house). We ended up extending our stay there by two extra nights. The breakfast and meals we had there waste fantastic as well. We loved the cats roaming around on the hotel ground too.

Maybe offer more toilet paper and get better sinks in the bathroom?

Beautiful place with all kind of different stunning cottages. Fabulous restaurant with the best staff of Langkawi! We loved the food :) and last but not least, really a gorgeous garden with lovely pool!

Wir hatten verschiedene Zimmer und waren 2 Nächte in einem Zimmer, was sehr laut war, da er direkt am Parkplatz war. Etwas nervig sind die einheimischen Besucher im Restaurant, die durch die ganze Anlage laufen und Fotos machen. Am Pool durchaus unangenehm….

Het was veel mooier dan de foto’s! Het restaurant was geweldig, je zit er prachtig en voor de kids kon alles aangepast worden 😊. Het ligt super dicht bij het strand en met grab ben je er echt in 4 minuten voor geen geld.

Als er al was mis gaat helpt de staf je onmiddellijk om het op te lossen en super vriendelijk.

Very charming setting with a wild range of authentic buildings. The pool is beautiful although very warm. Food was very good and Western friendly. The restaurant comes with a stylish bar. The location is convenient for the airport, but doesn’t facilitate direct access to the sea.

Our room/ apt had aircon but the windows are basically open shutters, so it was difficult to cool down.

Each of the accommodation buildings had its charm and truly unique and special to be able to stay in such historical houses. It felt like being back in time.

The afternoon BGM at the restaurant and pool was too much like beach clubs for liking and personally felt that it doesn't suit the beauty of the old charming buildings. Relaxing and calm music such as jazz and classical or retro music, (the type of music playing during breakfast) would add to the experience.

Quiet. Beautiful environment. Great food. Friendly staff. Very nice accommodations.

On the other side of the globe from where I live. Still, I hope to return someday.

The only criticism I have is that (apart from the lovely breakfast) I didn’t think the restaurant food was very good.

Lovely, historic hotel. All the rooms are in different old buildings, which makes them both interesting and individual. The pool is lovely. The staff were really friendly. We are in the hotel one night and the food was great. Location wise it’s really easy to get grab taxis into the town or the beach. The hotel helped us book 3 trips - island hopping and a mangrove tour. Both were good fun but if you only do 1 trip, then make it the mangrove tour.

Nothing! It is close to the airport and you can hear planes but there really aren’t that many of them and it didn’t bother us at all. The buildings are historic so you don’t get sound proofing but it really wasn’t that noisy (occasional traffic) and that would depend which room you go for. We had a fabulous time here & would recommend it.

This boutique hotel was absolutely divine. Extremely tranquil and felt in the heart of nature. We saw lots of wild animals in the trees and of course were surrounded by all the lovely cats and kittens! The buildings were gorgeous and it was great learning about them during our tour of the property. The little leaflet was a lovely touch too. The food was incredible and all the option of soft drinks was great. The staff were so so attentive and lovely. We hired a scooter from here which was also seamless and was given very good reccomendation of things to do in the area.

Nothing really! Our accommodation was plantation and there weren’t proper physical windows - just shutters and curtains so we had mosquito nets for our beds. But this is expected for Asia anyway and we had mozzie spray!

Mükemmel bir konaklamaydı. Çok memnun kaldım.Tek sorun bahçede ve havuzda yeterli zaman geçiremedim otelde. Özellikle Bar çalışanı MAL ve İtalyan müdüre hanıma çok teşekkür ederim. Ama tüm çalışanlar fevkaleydi. Aşçıyı da tebrik ederim herşey çok lezzetliydi. Yediğim sandviçi bile unutamıyorumAsla unutamayacağım bir konaklama. Özellikle konaklama ve odadaki hediyeler mükemmeldi. Tekrar gelmek isterim. otelde kedi olması da bonus. Özellikle Coconat :)

There is nothing to dislike

An unbelievable stay! The staff at Temple Tree were so attentive. Nothing was too much trouble for Mal, Ms K, Roy or Irene, amongst others. Colonial 3 was the room we stayed in and it was magnificent! Beautifully designed and dressed. The pool area was such a relaxing little Malaysian oasis. We'd stay in this place again in a heartbeat.

Tout ! Le jardin luxuriant, les chambres hyper spacieuses aménagées avec goût et élégance le tout chargé d’histoire. L’emplacement de l’hôtel un peu à l’écart des « attrapes touristes » de la plage Le restaurant tout était délicieux avec une carte locale et continentale très variées, les cocktails également au top. Le personnel aux petits soins tout le monde adorable, mention spéciale pour Mal le barman toujours souriant et Ms K le serveur. Le petit déjeuner avec une plage horaire large avec un grand choix. La piscine fabuleuse on n’a pas envie de sortir de ce coin de paradis, havre de paix pour le repos. La gentillesse du personnel qui nous a donné une chambre pour prendre une douche à 15h avant notre vol alors qu’on avait check out à 12h

Rien tout était parfait.

Eine Oase der Ruhe. Die Anlage ist wunderschön und mit Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet. Die Zimmer individuell dekoriert, wir hatten Haus Johor 1, sehr großzügig mit zwei Schlafzimmern, einem Wohnzimmer und einem Bad, außerdem mit einer großen Veranda. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. In der Anlage sind auch einige Katzen zu Hause, an denen wir viel Freude hatten. Bis in den Ort läuft man eine knappe halbe Stunde.

Die Anlage ist super schön, man wohnt quasi in einem sehr gepflegten Park. Die Zimmer (auch Badezimmer) sind riesig und gemütlich und mit allem Erdenklichen ausgestattet. Pool sehr schön, der kleine Spabereich ebenfalls. Frühstück reichhaltig.

Nachts war es durch die Notbeleuchtung im Zimmer etwas hell. Die Zimmer sind auch nach außen hin sehr offen gestaltet, teils mit halb offenen Fenstern, dadurch verbraucht die Klimaanlage recht viel Strom. Und durch den Ramadan wurde man nachts kurzzeitig aus dem Schlaf gerissen, weil der Muezzin laut zu hören war. Mit Ohropax dann aber kein Problem mehr :-)

Location was accessible to main tourist attractions, staff were delightful and pool was fantastic. A great place to relax and unwind would highly recommend if coming to Langwaki.

We had a wonderful stay at Temple Tree Resort. What stood out most were the beautifully restored old houses, renovated with great respect for the cultural heritage of the place. The atmosphere was unique and authentic. We also loved the lovely swimming pool, which was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. The service was fantastic—warm, attentive, and always helpful—and the restaurant served excellent food. Overall, it was a memorable and very enjoyable stay.

Everything was perfect, from the swimming pool to the breakfast. It’s giving White Lotus vibes. Exceptional

Temple Tree, take a bow! For transporting houses from across Malaysia to make a home for travellers. And experience different architectural styles, periods in history, stories behind each one of them reflected in the Peranakan tiles, stained glass doors and windows, wooden rafters, iron grills, red oxide flooring amid a tropical plant paradise with the banyan tree as a centrepiece. We stayed at Colonial 3, a double-storied structure with Arabic and Peranakan influences. The Johor, Straits, Negri Sembilan stand out among the heritage houses, as does the long swimming pool flanked by sunloungers. Every time we returned from long days at the Langkawi beaches, we found Mini at the reception smiling and affable, while Ms K at Paloh wowed us with her passion as much as the nasi lemak pizza, Ipoh hor fun and asam pedas did. The ambience of the resort is matched by the meals it serves. At breakfast, the freshly baked croissants seemed to just fly of the counter. This was a fabulous stay! The rooms/buildings are former plantation houses from around Malaysia that have been dismantled, brought to Langkawi and reassembled. The result is an amazingly charming mix of colonial charm. The gardens too are exotic with birdlife and the pool is possibly one of the best pools I’ve ever had the pleasure of swimming in. The airport runway is nearby but with only a handful of flights per day it was not a negative, I really enjoyed watching the planes! The staff are all lovely and a complimentary later check out time was so much appreciated. Thank you!

The only thing that would have enhanced my stay even more would be a few more gluten free options, maybe some bread or a cake option.

It’s a small hotel with a colonial feel.The rooms were large and we had some outside space. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the coffee was exceptional, probably the best we had in our tour of Asia. Dinner was also good although the menu is quite small. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere and everything works smoothly. The swimming pool is not great but much appreciated as were the sun loungers . Gardens are well maintained. It’s a quiet hotel which we very much enjoy. Easy and cheap to get a Grab car into town.

Could do with some cheap but effective maintenance, e.g. hole in the outside door to then garden. This allows insects to get into the room. It just needs some attention to fix these small issues out. Don’t really understand why they have 1 sun bed in a twin room. The lack of a direct beach area is a little disappointing. Probably the proximity to the airports precludes any development there.

We loved this hotel, small and personal. The rooms are traditional and provide everything that you would need for a comfortable stay. We particularly appreciated their toiletries as they were obviously derived from natural ingredients. The buffet breakfast gave you plenty of choice, we thought the muesli was the best we had ever had! We had our evening meal here each night and thought it was very good value for money. We particularly enjoyed Monday nights live music! The pool area was perfect for us and we never had a problem finding a sunbed whatever time we went. Wir haben drei wunderbare Nächte im Temple Tree in Langkawi verbracht – zusammen mit unserem zehn Monate alten Baby. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Hotel ist einfach wunderschön und ganz besonders: Jedes Häuschen stammt von einem anderen malaysischen Ort und wurde hier liebevoll restauriert. Das Interieur ist einzigartig gestaltet, man merkt sofort die Liebe zum Detail und das feine Auge für Ästhetik. Das Essen war hervorragend – so sehr, dass wir kein einziges Mal außerhalb gegessen haben. Die Terrasse lädt einfach zum Verweilen ein und man genießt jede Mahlzeit in entspannter Atmosphäre. Die Unterkunft selbst lädt perfekt zum Abschalten und Entspannen ein – wir waren traurig, als wir wieder abreisen mussten. Das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und sehr kinderlieb. Wir können das Temple Tree jedem empfehlen, der ein ganz besonderes Hotel sucht, in dem man Ruhe, Schönheit, Herzlichkeit und exzellentes Essen erlebt.
