Gable Manor by Neighbourgood

We had a short but wonderful stay at this charming place. Yes its old but that just adds to the atmosphere. Room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was also really nice. We enjoyed it very much!

We had a pleasant stay at Gable Manor. We chose Gable Manor to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary last year, and our 37th this year. The staff (Ismael) were exceptionally warm, friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived, making us feel right at home. The lady (sorry, I forgot her name) who prepared our breakfast was always welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay. I would happily recommend Gable Manor. I look forward to seeing it again when the renovation is done. Sheree and Anton

Considering that it was our second stay and Gable Manor, there is nothing that I didn't like. The interior and exterior of Gable Manor looks a little dated and "tired", but it all adds to the charm.

Our stay was alright. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, the champagne and candles that were provided for our newly wed friends was greatly appreciated! The breakfasts were also tasty and set us up for the day and the location is super close to town the popular wine tram.

However the drain in our shower was draining incredibly slowly so it was ankle deep by the end of a shower. I tried contacting the whatsapp person that messaged me checking if everything was fine, but I heard nothing back and nothing was done when I checked the following day. As I was leaving the folowwing day I did not bother making a noise about it.

Gut gelegen

Ausstattung völlig veraltet. Verdient keine 4* und ist auch das Geld nicht wert. In Südafrika bekommt man bei 4* einen völlig anderen Standard.

Amazing place!! The superior room was sooooo cozy and Isaac was so sweet and welcoming! The breakfast by the pool was delish with everything we could have wished for! Also there’s a safe parking lot on the premises. And communication was very easy, we arrived before check in time and just gave Isaac a ring per Telefone, it was no problem checking in a bit earlier!! Thank you!! (Yes some parts/rooms seem to be a bit older and we didn’t try the pool, but I think for the money we payed it was absolutely fine!!)

We loved the location and the friendly staff. Mandla was excellent. So helpful and friendly.

Mooie lokatie. Een noodloop was geregeld, omdat de stroom was uitgevallen. Lekker ontbijt, ondanks dat er stroomuitval was.

Misschien iets meer noodverlichting bij stroomuitval. Het was helaas aardedonker, terwijl de lokatie erg mooi is

Die Unterkunft ist sehr geräumig und hat einen schönen Garten. Dad Frühstück war frisch zubereitet und gut. Das Personal ausgesprochen freundlich. Die Lage ist ruhig und doch in Laufentfernung zu Ortszentrum (15min) und Winetram Station (10min).

Loved this place. It’s quiet, mountains views from the balcony. Not so far from the center, it was a great stay.

Ruhig gelegen mit sicherem Parkplatz. Zimmer sehr gross und komfortabel. Fussläufig gibt es ein sehr gutes indisches Restaurant und das Franschhoek Terminal für die Ausflüge zu den Weingütern. Frühstück wählt man am Vortag aus und wird in einem Nebengebäude serviert. Ein durchaus angenehmer Aufenthalt.

Wir waren nur eine Nacht dort, haben uns aber sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Personal war äußerst hilfsbereit und freundlich. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das sehr leckere Frühstück. Insgesamt klein, aber fein :)

The rooms was beautiful!

We had a very bad night , we couldn't sleep because of running water or a pump switching on and off the whole night!! Had to take 2 sleeping pills!! The breakfast could also be better!

Das Haus ist unweit der Hauptraße wo alle Restaurants und Geschäfte sind und fußläufig erreichbar. Essen im Col'Caccio (Italiener) war sehr lecker. Das Frühstück war als Büfett, sehr lecker und ausreichend. Parken im abgeschlossenen Hof.

Wir hatten Zimmer im DG ohne Balkon und da war es mit Sitzgelegenheiten schon nicht so. Bei gutem Wetter ist aber eine Terrasse vor dem Frühstücksraum und Liegen um den Pool, die man nutzen kann. Was mir garnicht gefallen hat: Es war Personal da, aber wer unsere Gastgeber waren- keine Ahnung. Für mich war das ein wenig wie ein Geisterhaus. Kommunikation nur per WhatsApp. Das fand ich gar nicht okay.

Im Zimmer Nr. 2 (Poolbereich) hört man wenn in der oberen Etage jemand im Zimmer oder auf dem Balkon herumläuft.

Very poor. Extremely tired. Awful presentation. Stained curtains carpets and throws. Blinds broken. Garden overgrown. Very dated. No comfort at all. Not even a fridge in room or proper toiletries. Reception was non existent and reluctant to help. Pool was a joke … you wouldn’t put your toe in it.

Staff were lovely. Great location. Comfy room & bed. Super breakfast.

Blinderen van de kamer. Het rolgordijn ging niet naar beneden waardoor het 's morgens al héél licht was ook de kamer.

De kamer was zeer groot, winkels en restaurants op wandelafstand. Ontbijt zeer uitgebreid. Lounge beschikbaar.

De kamer was niet 100% schoon. Alles was redelijk gedateerd en daarom vinden we het prijs-kwaliteit iets minder.

Sehr gut gelegen. Die Hauptstraße konnte man zu Fuß gut erreichen.

Die Unterkunft ist in die Jahre gekommen und schlecht gepflegt. Es gibt ein übersichtliches Frühstück. Wir hatten etwas anderes erwartet. Die Lage des Hauses ist perfekt, würde man es nach 20 Jahren renovieren und gut führen, wäre es ein perfekter Platz in Franschhoek.

Douche was fluctuerend in temperatuur, maar personeel zocht actief naar oplossing maar bleef uiteindelijk wel vervelend.

It’s probably a little dated and our air conditioning wasn’t working in our room.

Wie überall bei unserer Reise durch Südafrika bekommt man das Frühstück serviert. Man kann sich aussuchen in welcher Form man sein Ei haben möchte. Es wird serviert mit Speck, Bohnen oder Würsten. Die Fahrt mit der Weintram war ein tolles Erlebnis. Man kann bis zu 10 Weingüter besuchen, wenn man morgens mit der ersten Tram fährt. Das Zimmer ist sehr schön eingerichtet.

Das Hotel ist in einer Wohngegend in Franschhoek. Die Station der Weintram ist 20min zu Fuß vom Hotel entfernt. Es gab nichts, was uns nicht gefallen hätte. Ein Luxushotel ist es aber nicht.

Bem localizado. Quartos confortáveis, limpos. Muito calmo. Demos azar de pegar um apagão na cidade devido ao fogo que durou uns 2 dias da nossa estadia. Mas os funcionários se empenharam para minimizar o desconforto. Tinham energia solar suficiente para a área compartilhada do restaurante/cozinha, e disponibilizaram para os hóspedes usarem tomadas. Café da manhã era muito bom!

Colchão um pouco duro. Depois de 3 dias estava com dores na coluna.

Kleines gemütliches Hotel, direkt im Zentrum von Franschhoek. Bis zur Hauptstraße mit Geschäften und Restaurants kann man in 10 min laufen, das Winetram Terminal ebenfalls. Der Pool war erfrischend nach einem langen Tag. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist übersichtlich aber alles vorhanden was man braucht, Eier werden nach Wahl frisch zubereitet. Wir würden das Hotel wieder buchen.

Mooie accommodatie en fijn contact!

Понравилось расположение в тихом и красивом месте. Окрестные улочки очень живописны. До остановки винного трамвая и до главной улицы минут 10-15 пешком. Сам домик симпатичный и уютный. Соседей не видно и не слышно. Номер просторный, места много и много шкафов и пространства для того, чтоб разместить чемодан и все свои вещи. Ночью очень тихо. Персонал приветливый. Есть своя парковка и гараж на территории.

После нашего заселения отель написал нам на почту и Whats App с вопросом о том, что они могут сделать для нас. Мы в ответном сообщении попросили принести халаты, которые заявлены в описании номера. На этом переписка прекратилась, халатов мы не увидели. Номер, в особенности ванная комната, нуждаются в косметическом ремонте. И включенная кнопка кондиционера сильно светится в темноте, прямо таки освещает комнату. Мало розеток, заряжали девайсы по очереди. Завтраки хоть и вкусные, но однообразные и ооочень скромные.

The property is within walkable distance to the city and to the wine tram. It is a house that has been converted into rooms. It has a beautiful pool area. The room was spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning works well in the room. The staff is very friendly.

I did notice that there were some mosquitoes in the room that were biting in the night and made it hard to sleep.

Its a nice place to stay as its one of the less pricyer places. All clean, nice breakfast and super friendly staff. The beds where comfortable and there is an aircon also for hot nights. The views from upstairs are beautiful and the pool area is nice to hangout. Walking distance to all the Restaurants and main road.

The front up communication is automated only and there was no reply on messages. Seems a bit less personal touched but when you arrive there they are super nice and welcoming.

The location is very good and convenient for getting around. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, which made check-in and general interaction pleasant.

The property itself feels old and tired and is in need of renovation. There were very limited TV channels and the Wi-Fi did not work properly during the stay. The pillow and linen were old, and there was even a hole in the pillowcase. No toiletries were provided, which was disappointing. The beds were uncomfortable due to the lack of a proper mattress connector.

Teppichboden im Zimmer. Alte Türen und Ausstattung. Der Pool lädt nicht zum Baden ein. Es ist alles sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Der Duschkopf passt zum Gesamtbild.

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist super, um die umliegenden Weingüter zu erkunden. Auch das Frühstück war lecker. Der Gastgeber und das weitere Personal waren sehr freundlich.

Leider ist die Unterkunft sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Wir haben vermutlich das älteste Zimmer bewohnt. In diesem hat es muffig und etwas feucht gerochen, es war an einigen Stellen dreckig, insbesondere auch im Bad und die Klimaanlage war kaputt. Man war bemüht sie zu reparieren, was aber nicht direkt klappte. Die Handtücher am Pool wurden morgens nicht gewechselt und der Pool selbst lud leider nicht zum Baden ein. Die Gastgeber sind wirklich bemüht ihren Gästen eine gute Zeit zu ermöglichen, nur leider ist dies beim alten und zT dreckigen Zustand der Unterkunft schwierig.

De hygiëne. De pool was gewoon erg smerig en het water erg vies. De tuin zag er op de foto’s super uit maar dit is alles-zoals veel op deze accommodatie- lang vergane glorie en alles een beetje verloederd Alles leek er op de “Franse slag” Kamer was prima maar ook niet meer. De recensies van deze accommodatie vind ik echt te positief.

Kleines Gästehaus in ruhiger Lage mit abgeschlossenem Parkplatz. Frühstück vollkommen ausreichend.

Trotz mehrfacher Zusicherungen, wurde das WLAN nicht zum Laufen gebracht. Der zuständige Mitarbeiter war später einfach verschwunden. Ebenso war beim Auschecken niemand vor Ort.

Leaving that place and never going back.

The pictures are probably 10 years old and isn't representative of the current state of the place which is run down, damp and stinking. The WiFi didn't work. The pool is cracked and lined with green algae. The sun loungers are dated and dirty with dirty with towels with holes on them that didn't get changed. The bathrooms are full of black mould. The breakfast isn't as pictured in the advertising. The house and garden isn't as advertised in the pictures it's crumbling and cracked with the garden overgrown so that the house and rooms are dark and dingy. Both the Aircon and fan wasn't working in the room we booked. They offered us a different room that was stinking, full of damp with cracks in the wall and hadn't been cleaned properly to get ready in promising that our Aircon will be fixed by the time we got back from dinner. It wasn't fixed as promised and because no one was onsite we had to stay in the dirty room. They then followed with another promise it will be done by the morning. The next day however the property gave the room we had booked to someone else. We got back from lunch expecting the Aircon to be repaired and us getting our room ready only to find we had been locked out and there was someone else in the room. We asked for a refund which they refused. The place is being run into the ground by dishonest and deceptive people. We left anyway because we couldn't stay in the stinking, dirty, damp room they had given us.

Lovely guest house with beautiful garden and small pool in Franschhoek, within walking distance of centre, cafes, restaurants and wine tram. Nice breakfast, quiet and relaxed. Secure parking
