Buffet was expensive taken into consideration that the main meat dish was grilled chicken (cheapest meat) with pork rashers. The vegetables were bland. The red velvet swiss roll (desert ) was like compressed cake and tasted old. The meats were limited and vegetables.

Next booking I want the same view room 131 or similar rooms with same view

Our stay was beautiful, enjoyed the food so much

The fact that the facility does not seem to have a backup plan for electricity outage. We had to move out and go to town because there was no electricity, not even at the restaurant

Footpaths and stairs from main building to rooms are dangerous, very uneven and unkept. Lighting could be better. My wife and father in law both fell and had multiple cuts and bruises. Reception check in was lovely but checkout was very uninterested. Food was very average, could be better.

Heated pool not working

The staff were more concerned about group bookings. They were not forth coming about the info on activities. The was no welcome drinks for and had to look for the rooms at night and their signage is horrible. Had to ask to be assisted with luggage.

The garden and the staff was kind and showed respect.

We couldn't have breakfast as the original offer and I was told that it because I moved the dates a day forward.

I made a Booking via Booking.com and paid R3674.63 for a Deluxe Room for the period 12/08/2026 to 14/08/2026. I was given Room 102, which is a small room and very much different from what was advertised and reflected on Booking.com. The door in Room 102 broke and I informed reception, upon which I was allocated a Standard Room, Number 125, which are much bigger than Room 102, but still different from the Deluxe Rooms as advertised on Booking.com. It is unfair for me to pay R3674.63 for a Deluxe Room and be allocated a different room (Standard Room), which in fact costs cheaper than the Deluxe Room that I paid for. The Standard Room 125 allocated to me was way bigger than the Room 102 and I appreciate that. However, it was still way different from the Advertised Room of Booking.com and was cheaper in price compared to what I paid, namely R3674.63. Please allocate the Rooms equivalent to what has been paid for. In addition, validate the Rooms advertised against the Pricing to be paid by Customers.

The friendly staff who were happy to serve and make the stay comfortable

The executive suites’s infrastructure is dilapidated they need an an entire revamp. The toilet and shower were the worst, the air con in the bedroom was also old and not functioning. The heated pool was also out of order which was a huge inconvenience for the kids who were looking forward to the warm swim.

I would give the food specifically bacon and fruit salad, a 7/10 it needs to be prepared differently other than that I enjoyed everything about the food as well as the setup in the restaurant

The bed was clean and comfortable.

Bathtub didn't drain water properly. Bathroom walls/door was peeling paint. Living room carpet and sofa were dirty.

This place offers a lot. We honestly needed friday to monday stay. Beautiful view, beautiful rooms, comfortable beds e.t.c we loved it.

The amenities are gorgeous. The place is luscious. There is air conditioning.

The heated pool wasn’t working. Our room had a toilet issue so we had to be moved.

We were checked in into a room that was being renovated. Had to wait in the cold while the other room was being organised. The next room Aircons was not in good condition. Only when we were moved for the third time were we offered the room type we had requested initially.

The staff are very accomodatingf and welcoming. Spa experince was a great treat. Beautifull surroundings & experience nature

The bathroom at our room was very old and need upgrading. The toilet was dripping the whole time. The bodywash was too small for 2 persons.

The rooms were spacious and very clean. The food was excellent, and the buffet offered a wide variety of options. The reception and restaurant staff were also very helpful and attentive.

The water in the kids' swimming pool was freezing cold. As we visited during winter, we would have appreciated the pool being heated, as we were informed that it was a heated pool.

Breakfast room was good with good service from staff. the only problem if that there is no Wi-Fi coverage

Improve internet coverage. As a visitor, it is not ideal to struggle with connectivity while in the facility

My 12 year old son and I absolutely enjoyed the food - what we ordered on the ala carte menu for lunch and the breakfast was scrumptious. The room was fresh, clean and felt so 'personally' picked. Other seemingly little but things that matter like the water pressure was on point. All in all, it was a wholesome stay - would definitely visit again! Thank you Hunters Rest and your staff.

The only downer was that the heated pool 'advertised' was freezing cold - we were told the pump is being repaired

The employees were not the nicest and friendliest, they were not rude but didn’t welcome us with so much warmth. The breakfast options need to be changed, we cannot eat the same thing everyday.

The hotel's food was not up to standard. The chef definitely doesn't belief in preparing steak medium rare. Everything was well-done, overcooked.

There are beautiful views and spaces and there's many activities done that side the place is clean and nice

The reception lady who was on night shift on Wednesday night was good to us and made our stay much enjoyable, I remember she called maintenance for us when our door gave us a hard time on Wednesday night and our problem was solved very fast Special thanks also to the restaurant team who made sure the meals and all refreshments were just top tier 👌! And how can i forget our selfless housekeeping department that gave us the best service ever!.....See u soon family!

I was traveling with my husband. The service that you got at the bar from katleho and malume Lucas was exceptional for our 4 day stay. Chris was also checking on us, and we enjoyed watching the soccer derby between pirates and chiefs at the restaurant. It was raining and cold, but the fireplace kept us warm. The food was great, from breakfast to dinner we enjoyed it. We had fat cakes, fries plus the weather was permitting and also the option to eat english breakfast 😋. Dinner had option for a three course meal: soup to main and dessert. Our room was clean and comfortable bed with an option to require more pillows. The weather allowed us to use the heated pool for one day. I can't wait to go back with the whole family to enjoy the activities that they have and the milkshake that they offered for breakfast 😋 with my kids. The view was refreshing.

Was traveling with my husband, we enjoyed our stay, and we added another night. Staff at the bar were helpful, and our room was clean. Will be returning with the whole family. Katleho and malume Lucas kept our glass full at the bar 🍸 😆. The food was great, from breakfast to dinner with options to choose. Rooms were clean and comfortable big bed with pillows. Bathroom had bath and shower separate. Amazing view of mountain ⛰️.

Beautiful location, very green and peaceful. The hotel rooms are spacious, especially the bedrooms and lounge. The breakfast was amazing and the restuarant food was good.

The hotel rooms do not have a kitchenette, there is no basin and kettle. There is however a coffee machine, microwave and a fridge. The bathrooms are too small and the water was not hot on day 1. These were minor issues, we still enjoyed our stay.
