Kududu Guest House

Highly recommend this peaceful, picturesque guest house. The owners were absolutely wonderful, very welcoming, with great communication and assistance. Our cottage was perfect for us three, with a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and a huge balcony with amazing views. The location is ideal, an easy drive to Addo Elephant National Park. The guest house is just off Highway R336, so you only have to travel on dirt roads for a couple kilometers, which our sedan handled just fine.

Sehr schöne abgelegene Unterkunft mit schönen Zimmern und einer fantastischen Aussicht auf der Terrasse des Speisesaals. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück war abwechslungsreich und sehr lecker.

Ungünstig war, dass wir mit einem normalen PW auf der Rundreise unterwegs waren. Die Zufahrtsstrasse zum Guest-House führt über eine 4 km lange Schotterstrasse. Falls nicht in den Unterlagen vermerkt, empfehle ich einen Hinweis zu geben.

The location is so serene and tranquil, rooms were clean and the beds were absolutely comfortable. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. We only stayed one night but would gladly go back sometime in the future. The dogs were an added bonus and made us feel right at home.

My only feedback would be to perhaps re-look at the braai area by the pool as the chairs were mostly used by the doggies to sleep on so they were not clean to sit on. We used the alternative chairs that were available.

Location and views are beautiful

Mooie cottage gunstig gelegen tov Addo Elephant Park. Toegangsweg met ‘gewone’ auto uitdagend bijna 5 km over onverhard met gaten en keien. Uitzicht adembenemend, lieve honden op het terrein maar daar moet je van houden natuurlijk! Spullen wat verouderd maar alles aanwezig.

We arrived rather late after a long drive from Cape Town, and were dismayed to find that the buzz boxes weren’t working. Thankfully we followed in a truck and they could hear the honk at the closer gate. The receptionist was very nice. The lodge that we stayed in was spacious but the floors were dirty and the bathtub needed to be run a while to get past the dirt in the pipes. Be aware that they don’t have dinner options, regardless of the first picture, and town is about 15 min away and restaurants close early. We ended up with road snacks for dinner. Breakfast was good and filling with a great view of the giraffes. Wish I would have sent a message to the hotel about our arrival and food options ahead of time.

Underwhelming breakfast. Not what you would expect from a 4 star establishment and nowhere as advertised. Renovations in progress.

The host was very friendly and helpful. We had a nice view into the valley, the garden is beautiful. The breakfast was good. The location is a bit remote, but better than staying somewhere in town. It is worthwhile to travel the few extra km`s. I would go there anytime again

A great location next to Addo on superb price.

It is quite run down though.

It’s a rustic safari style farm house. Very spacious and green. Loved the little greenery in the middle of the house. It’s quiet and tranquil allowing one to rest without problem. We received individualised breakfast at desired time. All in all a great experience.

The room didn’t have a great shower head so showering wasn’t that great. The kettle in the room was old and definitely needs to be replaced the water had an after taste.

Beautiful setting and wonderful view. Kids loved the dogs.

Great cottage for a young family. Plenty of space and a loft room with own bathroom for kids. Kitchen is well equipped and the place is well cleaned daily by the friendly staff. Nice view from the balcony over the buffalo in the pastures below.

The loft room offers little privacy if it would be of concern. The whole cottage can hear when you use the bathroom and you're in plain sight when dressing. Bathrooms are also a little pressed for space. Although it's only 4km of gravel road to get to the place it can be in quite a bad shape at times.

Pool wasn’t clean and unlike advertising pictures there seemed to be no food or breakfast available. There was hardly any staff around when we needed help - staff seemed absent.

Poor lighting in chalet. Kitchen light non functioning. Kitchen utensils lacking.. no spatula,large sharp knife or oven gloves. WiFi intermittent View not as good as the pictures..it is of plowed fields then Bush.

The cottage we stayed in was lovely, clean and had a beatiful view.

The dinner was good. Sarah cooked the best curry stew I had in a very long time. When staying over ask for the Sarah special curry stew. Thanks for the great stay!

Very nice accommodation on a farm near Addo Park. Nice rooms with veranda and outdoor shower. Wonderful well-kept garden with views over the surrounding hills. Pleasently quiet. There are a couple of good restaurants nearby for dinner. Breakfast all good. Very nice host who tried very hard to make our stay pleasant. Thank you, we would book there again at any time.

The 5 km road is a bit of a challenge for normal cars

Very quiet and stress free area. Pool area is lovely. The family rooms are nice and spacious and very comfortable. Self catering with all things needed to see to yourself been provided. One of our favourite places to visit and that is why we keep coming back.

Nice location, room and bed were good.

We booked for 3 nights and had to check out after the 2nd night because on the 2nd day there was no more water. We do not exactly know why, first they told us something happened due to the load shedding, then there was a valve broken and then they were already filling up the tank (so it was empty?) but there was still not water after waiting so we decided to check out early. The host (not the owner) did not charged us for the last night, which was good. Water is essential, especially if you are on holiday. We couldn’t take a shower or flushing down the toilet was not possible. We are in Africa so this can happen but nobody offered us buckets with water (from the pool or whatever to flush the toilet) or extra large water cans so we could at least wash our faces with fresh water. The owners never showed their faces and the manager was struggling, she did her best but in these situations, the owner must show up and talk to us and at least offer the small gestures as mentioned above.

Further from Addo Elephant Park than most other Addo accommodations, but not too much of a problem. Google Maps is not reliable for directions to property.

The guesthouse was set inside a citrus orchard looking out over a valley and the surrounding orchards. The guesthouse is isolated up a gravel road but that gave it a unique charm. I had room 3, which lead out to the pool and outdoor recreation area. There is a lovely star jasmine vine growing outside on the wall that scented the air and room .a very comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we had a good chat several times. There are safe areas to wander around the vicinity and orchard (lemons mostly). A very nice breakfast in a room of the lounge overlooking a valley, where there were cape Buffalo. The whole place had a nice comfortable feeling about it. Nice public use spaces and good views . The pool was clean and cool (it was very hit the day I arrived) and the grass was nice to relax on. There was outdoor furniture to use. I was surpised how rhe valley and distant views came alive at night, with street and security lighting all around, and the glow of the township lights in the distance. Two very friendly dogs who were keen for a walk ior a run every time I opened the security gate. This is a very safe location . Its up a rural road, inside a secure orchard, inside secre fencing (mostly to control the cape Buffalo , sufficient deterrent in themselves) fronted by some dense spiky bush. A place to relax and chill out.

The guesthouse and location, nothing. But don't use GPS or driving guide programs to get there The gps led me up some rutted tracks , farm tracks and isolated dirt roads in a roundabout way to the guesthouse, about 10km of bumpy roads. There i s plenty of signage to the guesthouse on the main road through Sunland and only 4 km of well formed gravel road to contend with..

Rooms nicely air conditioned and clean . Pool and grounds well kept. Found pool area lounges needing upgrade..very uncomfortable. Meals very mediocre... and dinner overpriced for what was served. Cleaning staff exceptionally friendly. Owners - we've had better! Some soft background music could be nice in lapa...to create some much needed ambience

Kududu is an amazing place, perfect setting, a bit like "Out of Africa", I have been there five times in the last 12 years and its always improving

It's out the way, but close enough. It's on aches of land, yet an oasis. It's peaceful yet close to wilderness. This GH is lovely, well maintained and wonderful facilities. Highly recommended for a few days away

Appartement tout équipé. Parfait !

Leider waren wir etwas enttäuscht, das Guest House liegt doch sehr abseits und man muss immer mindestens 15 Minuten fahren um essen zu gehen oder Einkäufe zu erledigen. Auch wurde nicht sehr gründlich gereinigt im Zimmer und Pool. Sehr gut war die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals, auch der kleine Spielplatz war top und die vielen Tiere machten ein Bauernhof Gefühl.

Für die etwas mühsame (aber gut ausgeschilderte) Anfahrt wird man durch ein traumhaft schönes Anwesen mit bestem Komfort, gutem Design und freundlichem Personal belohnt. Der Ausblick auf ein kleines Tal mit Büffelherde, der parkartige Garten ringsumher - alles malerisch und von gediegenem Charme. Für Leute, die Qualität und eine gewisse Exklusivität ohne Schnickschnack schätzen, dabei auch etwas Abenteuergeist mitbringen, ist Kududu genau das Richtige.

Tolle Lodge in der Nähe des Addo NP. Unser Familenzimmer war eine Doppelhaushälfte mit allem Komfort, voll ausgestattet und in gutem Zustand.

Mindestens 4 km zur nächsten geteerten Straße. 15 km bis in den nächsten kleinen Ort. Leider kein Restaurant verfügbar. Frühstück ist super, alles was es zu einem perfekten Start in den Tag braucht

Luxury room lacked sufficient power points for modern travellers. Sheets were not clean! Wifi was spasmodic.

Das Kududu-Guesthouse liegt ein wenig abseits und ist über eine 4 km lange Schotterpiste zu erreichen. Die übersandte Anfahrtbeschreibung hat geholfen. Wer Ruhe und Komfort sucht, ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Zum nächsten (sehr guten) Restaurant (Africanos) benötigt man gut 20 Minuten, ca. 40 Minuten fährt man zum Addo Elephant Park. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Frühstück in Buffett-Form war gut und ausreichend, es wurde auf Wunsch nachgereicht. Es fehlte uns hier ein wenig der persönliche Kontakt, wie wir es aus anderen B&B kannten. Das Guesthouse hat eher einen Hotelcharakter und können wir vorbehaltlos weiterempfehlen.

Kukudu is off the beaten track but well work the journey. Welcomed by an avenue of fever trees leading up to the property. Luxury awaits. Very clean and comfortable. Amazing views from our balcony with outdoor shower, there is on inside as well. will recommend to friends.

Erg leuke locatie, mooi verzorgd guesthouse. Zeer prettige ontvangst, behulpzame gastheer en gastvrouw. Met gastvrouw in eigen jeep over hun landgoed gereden om wild te spotten. Hele familie giraffes gezien, naast de gebruikelijke kudu's, apen en bokken. Heel leuke ervaring.

Super place to stay! Very friendly manager, that help you with lot of information and reservations in nearby game parks. Manager always had time for a friendly talk, very nice. Good rooms, and a great atmosphere in all areas of the hotel. Very good breakfast every morning, every morning some new dishes :-) Outside there is a pool area and a barbeque area for relaxing, very nice. Nice view over the farm, from dining area and from many rooms.

A real gem once you find it. Do not try to find this place after or close to sundown, especially if you are unfamiliar with the roads in this area. Once inside its all stress free and secure and a great welcome of a hot dinner after a long drive. Superbe Guesthouse qui surplombe la campagne. Tout est fait avec goût. On s'y sent bien! L'hôtesse est gentille et disponible. Bonne adresse, même si elle n'est pas facile à trouver.

En uventet og positiv opplevelse med en nydelig utsikt og hjemmekoselig stemning.Hyggelig vertsskap. Når det gjelder mat utenfor hotellet anbefales The Elephant House, men husk å booke bord i god tid. Elefantparken Addo er et must.

We were upgraded to the honeymoon room which was wonderful with a few small extras. Breakfast was better than average with a lovely view. Wifi did not work in our room, but worked well in other parts of the guesthouse, not in the breakfast room though. The pool area was great and the service was good. They helped us reserve activities in and around Addo. We had a lovely stay and recommend the hotel.

Vi havde bestilt værelse hos Kududu Guest House, da det lå godt i forhold til vores udflugter til bl.a Addo Elephant Park. Vi kunne godt finde på at vende tilbage.

Magnifique hôtel, mais au bout d'une piste difficile empierrée. Excellent dîner mais il faut réserver sinon la piste ou le jeun.

Travelling garden route and stayed 2 nights to visit Addo National Park

Apartment was very spacious. Two floors, under the Rolf for children. Yet no fan there, very holt for children during the night.

Deze guesthouse is gevestigd in een oud pand op een groot landgoed waar citroenen worden gekweekt en buffels rondlopen. Het beschikt over een sfeervolle tuin met zwembad, een 'honesty bar' en een ontbijtruimte met geweldig uitzicht over het landgoed. Het personeel was buitengewoon vriendelijk en doet een extra stap om je het naar de zin te maken. Onze kamer was giga groot, met een enorm bad in het midden en van alle luxe voorzien. Het Addo Elephant Park ligt op een half uurtje rijden. Absolute aanrader!

A zebra herd met us at the entrance. I was travelling with my family and booked two rooms. Both were very nice. Staff was great and extremely helpful in giving local places to eat. Breakfast hit the spot in the morning. Located very close to Addo park.

Comfortable guest house a short drive from Addo National Park (the last 4km or so is a gravel road, slightly rough but in good condition). We stayed in a garden cottage, which was spacious and comfortable, and had great views across to the hills. We had booked dinner for the evening of our arrival, as well as breakfasts during our stay, and the meals were plentiful, good home cooking. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and had plenty of information about the local area to share with us.
