The hotel was clean the staff were excellent.

The cups in our room did not have handles so you could not hold them to drink your Tea or coffee because it being hot.

Lovely independent hotel across the river from the historic town centre of Chinon. The private parking was a blessing as the town was exceptionally busy due to an event. I particularly liked the freshly made ciron juice at breakfast

El sitio es muy bonito y las habitaciones están genial. El personal es majisimo y el desayuno está bien (aunque un pelín carete). El sitio está cerca de chinón (en 10 min andando estás en el centro). Tiene alguna plaza de parking, pero yo aparqué en la calle, cerca, en zona sin necesidad de pago.

Abbiamo passato una sola notte come tappa del nostro percorso cicloturistico. L'accoglienza è stata subito impeccabile e ci hanno messo a disposizione un garage per il riparo delle bici. La struttura sembra nuova o ristrutturata di recente e con gran gusto. Letti comodi. Buona colazione. Un carinissimo giardino dove rilassarsi o gustare un aperitivo. A due passi dal centro .

Location for an over night stay

L'hôtel est très bien situé pour visiter à pied le centre historique. Le local à vélo était plein mais nos vélos étaient en sécurité dans la cour fermée. Le petit déjeuner était varié et généreux dans un cadre très accueillant servi par un personnel très sympathique.

Eine sehr persönliche und authentische Unterkunft. Das Ambiente war wirklich schön,nette Deko im Wohn und Aussenbereich. Tolles Frühstück mit frischen Croissant, selbstgemachte Marmelade und Saft. Kaffee und Musik zum Frühstück, wir kommen gerne wieder!

Bel hôtel, très bon accueil, un super petit déjeuner et un garage pour mettre les vélos! Je recommande!

Établissement très accueillant et parfaitement équipé, notamment pour les cyclistes. Chambres et salle de bain très propres. Proximité du centre ville et de la Guinguette principale.

The garden is fabulous. The rooms (we had two) were spotless. The location is very good, a short walk into the town.

Milk in the room (for the coffee) would have been lovely, but it’s not a big deal.

Pas de Clim en cas de forte chaleur même si il y’a eu une intention avec un ventilateur, et compliqué d’ouvrir en grand la fenêtre en étant au rez de jardin. Salle de bain un peu bruyante (écoulement des chambres du dessus).

Beautiful hotel, perfectly decorated and in a great location to explore Chinon The staff were wonderful, so friendly and with lots of advice. Our room was super comfortable and modern. The courtyard area was a lovely place to relax and enjoy the first class breakfast. Highly recommend Hotel Rive Sud if you’re looking for a Loire Valley base!

The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable with some neat touches. The garden is a lovely place to sit and relax, with the hosts being very welcoming.

What a wonderful place! Our room was perfect, garden/conservatory areas are beautiful and great for breakfast. Breakfast was extensive and delicious. The hosts were lovely, friendly and fun. There's a secure private car park a few minutes walk away. Chenon was a lovely place to walk around and a great base for exploring further afield. Of our 10 days aways our 4 days here was the best!

L’immeuble n’est pas bien isolé… De plus, nous étions côté cour et nous avons été dérangés à multiples reprises par le bruit dont une voiture se garant dans la cour à minuit…. Notre bébé s’est réveillé à de multiples reprises De plus, je trouve que faire payer le lit bébé (lit parapluie standard) 8€ par nuit est excessif Sinon c’était parfait !!

Das Hotel hat einen wunderschönen Aufenthaltsbereich, eine Glasveranda und einen Innenhof, wo wir frühstücken und nachmittags und abends sitzen und etwas trinken konnten. Die Lage am Südufer der Vienne ist ideal, um Chinon oder das Umland zu besuchen. Der Hotelbetreiber ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Bei der großen Hitze machte sich das Fehlen einer Klimaanlage leider bemerkbar, obwohl ich sie nicht sehr schätze.

Sehr schönes Zimmer mit Blick in den Garten, der zum verweilen einläd. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Gesicherter Parkplatz unweit vom Hotel mit Zugang über Code. Das Hotel bietet ein frisches, regionales Frühstück an, wir haben es leider nicht probiert, schade eigentlich.

Leider gab es im Hotel keine Klimaanlage, aber der Zimmerservice stellte mittags bereits den Ventilator im Zimmer an, damit es abends etwas kühler war. Bei nächtlichen Temperaturen von 25-30 Grad brachte dies jedoch nichts. Trotzdem nette Geste. 😊

Fantastic location close to the centre, incredible breakfast with homemade croissants and pancakes and a delicious selection of cheeses and jams. Relaxing in the garden and eating the breakfast on the veranda was a bonus.

Truly couldn’t fault this lovely hotel - it’s such a hidden gem! The location is perfect, just a short walk across the bridge from the main square of Chinon. This made it quiet, peaceful, and with lots of parking too, but still close to all the great bars and restaurants. The hotel itself is beautifully done. The restaurant serves a delicious breakfast with all locally sourced produce which we enjoyed every morning in the courtyard. It’s a little slice of heaven! Our room was a dream too. It was exceptionally clean with a perfect mix of rustic and modern interiors. The round bed was possibly the comfiest bed we’ve ever slept in, and with the fantastic black out blinds, we dozed off easily. Last but not least, the owner of the hotel made the stay feel like home. He looked after us so well, and we couldn’t be more grateful. You must stay here if you’re visiting the Loire Valley!

Très jolie bâtiment ancien rénové avec goût !! Accueil très chaleureux avec des recommandations. Petit déjeuner excellent très varié avec de bons produits locaux.

Agradable terraza, con paredes de piedra y plantas. Tienen un pequeño garaje para las bicicletas. Personal muy amable. Decoración bonita.

La habitación triple era bastante pequeña y sin aire acondicionado. Había opción con aire pero era de dos personas y más cara. Hacia bastante calor por la tarde, aunque a partir de las 12 o 1 de la noche empezó a entrar aire fresco por la ventana y pudimos apagar el ventilador de pie.

Location, staff and overall accommodations

The darkness of the stair well. Yess there were light switches to turn on however sometimes it was too dark to see them.

Beautifully appointed with very modern but in keeping decor and facilities. We were kindly upgraded to a suite too on check in.

Due to the extreme heat our daughters room was quite hot to sleep in, but it did have a fan.

It was only a flying visit, but we were delighted with the hotel. The decor was beautiful. We had a free upgrade and our room was beautiful. Lovely to have aircon and a tv with Netflix. Lovely little town. We visited the sister restaurant in town and had the best meal. We would return if we go to the area again.

Ondanks de hoge temperaturen prima geslapen, goede bedden, fijne douche en schoon. Vriendelijke gastheer en vergeet zeker niet te ontbijten. Echt een aanrader. Wij hebben er 1 nacht geslapen op doorreis.

Petit Hôtel charment bien décoré très propre, bonne literie 160, avec un petit déjeuner copieux et de qualité qui peut être pris dans la cour jardin. Bon accueil.

Ne pas réserver la chambre n°6 au RDC qui donne dans la cour avec des tables devant votre fenêtre impossible d'ouvrir fenêtre ou volet pas de rideaux ou autre pour minimum d'intimité.

The garden was very pleasant. The hotel receptionist Mark was really helpful, very pleasant and a nice guy.

Our room on the first night had no air con, but they moved us to a room with the next night. Soon all the rooms will have air con so this will no longer be a problem. It was the hottest day of the year, 42 degrees!

El lugar muy lindo y acogedor, terraza muy agradable para estar y el desayuno muy rico.

Todo muy bien pero eramos una familia de 5, dos adultos y tres niños y nos dejaron en piezas muy separadas. Entiendo que puede ser dificil dejar juntos a una familia.

Mark, the manager, was exceptionally helpful. He went out of his way to resolve several issues that members of our party were experiencing with their travel arrangements. The hotel offers good value for money. An enjoyable breakfast that can be taken outdoors.

The property does not have air conditioning but this is reflected in the price.
