Unser Zimmer war etwas klamm, unsere Kleidung wurde ein bisschen feucht. Die Einrichtung wirkte etwas klinisch und wenn man in der Hauptsaison da ist, wenn der Außenbereich genutzt wird, sehen die andern direkt ins Zimmer.

Reviewed Jul 12, 2026Oh my !! This guesthouse exceeded our expectations beyond measure, Waking up to that view and enjoying it over yummy breakfast was the peak of the vacation. Not to mention the wonderful friendly staff that made our stay soo special, we were blessed with a birthday surprise even ! Which was soo thoughtful. I would score this place a 100000000% and many thanks to the wonderful host , we had a lovely chat with her and she is so sweet. All in all was a great experience!

The staff still did their best to make sure I enjoyed my stay, bringing hot water to my room and setting up camping lights everywhere. Reviewed Apr 13, 2026Lovely stay with a very warm welcome and some really thoughtful touches for us as a honeymoon couple, which we really appreciated. The two girls serving breakfast were so lovely and couldn’t do enough for you. Our room was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed.
The reception and breakfast area were extremely quiet and could have done with some background music to make the space feel warmer and more welcoming, it felt a bit eerie moving through it during the day.

The breakfast was great and very generous. The room was well-provisioned with an absolutely huge bed and a lovely private outdoor area that led to the communal pool, which was great after a hot day of hiking., Restaurant suggestions were made, and they were all very good. Highly recommended!

Reviewed Mar 15, 2026Die Lage des Guesthouses ist nicht zu übertreffen. Die Unterkunft liegt auf einer kleinen Anhöhe allerdings nicht weit vom eigentlichen Zentrum (Main Street) entfernt. Man kann zu Fuß in die Stadt laufen. Am Abend empfiehlt sich ein Shuttle. Von der Unterkunft hat man einen der schönsten Blicke auf Plettenberg Bay. Die gesamte Anlage ist sehr gepflegt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und gern bei der Organisation von Ausflügen (Shuttle Service u.ä.) behilflich.

The rooms with ocean view have their own sundbeds and a private terrace, which I liked. Everything you need. Friendly staff, who also give tipps what to do in the area. They also offered to make a reservation or give a suggestion for dinner. Very quiet and calm at night. We just spent a while sitting outside at night and watched the lighthouse at Robberg Nature Reserve and the stars. All tables at the breakfast area have a front row view.
Only small detail: the breakfast room was very stuffy as the sun shines directly into it in the morning and it was too windy to open the windows. For breakfast there is one dish included. We chose the egg bagel and that was tiny. Would be nice if the included breakfast would actually fill you for the morning.

Reviewed Dec 28, 2025The hotel is slightly inside the area, but overall it’s still a decent location. Almost all rooms have balconies where smoking is permitted. However, due to poor ventilation, smoke can enter the room. Despite smoking being allowed, we were questioned about this issue, and the interaction with management was rude and unprofessional. The property itself is quite small and feels more like staying in a room within a large villa rather than a hotel or guest house. Sound travels easily through the walls, and there is very little privacy, as noise from the corridors can be clearly heard. Breakfast was not a buffet and was instead prepared by the staff. Having stayed at several other places across South Africa, this breakfast was comparatively not very good. Unfortunately, the checkout experience completely overshadowed any positives. We were approximately 30–40 minutes late checking out. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the owner himself came to the door, banged on it aggressively, and shouted at my girlfriend and me. I have never experienced such behaviour at any hotel before. When I explained that we were finishing packing our bags, he responded with extreme disrespect, saying things like, “I don’t care, you have five minutes.” While most of the staff were genuinely kind and friendly, the owner appears to be involved in the day-to-day operations and does not reflect the same attitude. This review is based purely on facts, and I gain nothing from writing it. I would not recommend staying here unless you absolutely have no other option.

Der Pool und die Liegen sind sehr gepflegt (das hatten wir in anderen Unterkünften schon ganz anders) Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet. Als wir an einem Abend keine Lust hatten essen zu gehen, wurde der Pizzaservice von der netten Dame am Empfang angerufen... ;-) Jeden Morgen wurde unser Auto blitzeblank gewaschen - was für ein toller Service! Wanderung auf Robberg-Island war megaschön (natürlich die große Runde!)
