The Large Studio Room is located inside the 1907 Historic Home. It is a Spacious Room which includes an En Suite Bathroom. The Large Studio has a queen size bed, and single bed, small sofa, tv, and sunny breakfast table in kitchenette. This room has all you need for a good nights’ sleep, but it is not equipped to make meals and does not have a kitchen sink. No cooking in this room.
The little kitchenette has a fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave. The large bedroom windows offer the beauty and warmth of the afternoon sun, and look out onto Collingwood Village and the Wakamarama Range.

Reviewed Sep 13, 2026What a cool vibe this place has! Sylvie greeted us, was bubbly and so welcoming. We booked the family room it was clean, well sized, comfy and warm. All the basic cooking equipment meant we could cook a meal easily. The setting is gorgeous with beautiful plants, trees, outdoor sitting areas, a trampoline and playhut with slide for kids. Nice and private with blinds to draw for extra privacy if needed.
There's really nothing we didn't like.

I booked two rooms. Same price but totally different value. The large studio had a seperate room with table and chairs - we had none. No bedside table. Light in bathroom was not working, no tissues but the thing we all disliked was the towels. They look lovely but you can’t dry yourself.

There is also a trampoline and a children’s playhouse with a slide, which was great for kids. We really enjoyed our stay here. The town is very charming, and we wished we had stayed longer.

Lovely garden area to sit with a glass of wine and nibbles after a day’s exploration. Very convenient to everything in Aorere, including two very interesting little museums right across the street.
My only nitpick would be the towels, which were as soft as a plush toy, but felt quite synthetic on wet skin.
