We had a wonderful stay at Svanata Resort Bali and were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The welcome was lovely, and all of the staff throughout our stay were incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive. Our room was very comfortable, and the pool was a great place to relax. The resort itself is huge, with beautiful, well-maintained grounds that make it feel very peaceful and spacious. Breakfast was definitely a highlight. There was a fantastic variety of food to choose from, and the views while having breakfast were absolutely amazing. We also ordered room service, which was beautifully presented and thoughtfully laid out for us. It was the little touches like this that really stood out. When our room was being made up, the staff even left a cute little towel monkey on our bed, which was such a lovely surprise! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Svanata Resort Bali to anyone looking for a relaxing stay with beautiful surroundings, great food and genuinely welcoming staff.

I haven't had the opportunity to note a positive point.

I don’t even know where to begin, given the sheer number of flaws and issues at this hotel. There is a gigantic chasm between the standards of a five-star property—let alone comparing it to other hotels in the same price bracket—and the actual experience on the ground. The front desk is terribly mismanaged. Sometimes there is only one person working the entire counter. Upon entering the room, the bathroom door squeaks, and the balcony door creaks just as badly, due to dust and small pebbles getting caught in the tracks. The shower head is broken and won’t pivot. The toilets are also old and dilapidated—honestly, they are the worst I have ever seen in any five-star hotel I’ve stayed at. The food on-site is poor, and the selection is extremely limited. For dinner at the 360 restaurant, the half-board menu offered with the room is simply ridiculous—it’s not even enough for one person. Not to mention the atmosphere, which is deeply unpleasant and anxiety-inducing. Breakfast is equally lackluster: the croissant wasn’t crispy—it was soggy, probably from the day before—the orange juice isn’t freshly squeezed but rather cheap, processed industrial juice, and the rest of the buffet is very sparse with not enough choice. When you sit down, the servers prefer to chat among themselves or outright ignore your calls and gestures rather than come over to listen and take your order. Lunch at the Botol Biru Bar & Grill is no better. The choice is limited, the menu is laughable, the pizzas are bad and bear no relation to the price shown, not to mention the terribly long wait even when the restaurant appears empty. The next day, I had a reservation for another room, also including breakfast and dinner, just like my first booking. So I had dinner at the 360 restaurant again, as I had the previous night. One hour after my meal, I received a call in my room demanding payment for my dinner—which was already included with my room.

The furniture is very old and the hotel is clearly in need of renovation. Unfortunately, the photos online do not reflect the current condition of the property. The road to the hotel is quite unpleasant, as you have to drive/walk a long distance through an area surrounded by garbage. At breakfast, we requested a table and were asked every day whether we were smokers or non-smokers. We were told that smokers had priority for the first row of tables. However, once we arrived, we noticed every day that there was no one smoking in the first row, which made the seating policy rather confusing and frustrating. The hotel does not have a private beach with sun loungers and there is no beach with proper facilities nearby. It does provide access to the public ,,Impossible Beach”, but reaching it requires going down several steep, rusty and potentially dangerous stairs.

Anantara Uluwatu is a fabulous place to stay with a great selection of rooms for both couples and families, as well as up market suites. The location is great with amazing outlook over Impossible Beach, as well as being a short walk/drive to a swimming beach. The staff are wonderful and the breakfast in the main restaurant and lunch/day offerings around the pools are very good.

The dinner menus and quality fell short of the other options a short drive up the coast. Keeping in mind it is a resort hotel, this still possible to dine in without leaving the resort, but there are a number of high end restaurants available nearby at very reasonable prices.

The hotel's location was fantastic! Just a quick two-minute ride to the main strip of shops, with plenty of restaurants and clubs nearby. The grounds were absolutely stunning, offering beautiful views in every direction and creating a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The staff were exceptional throughout our stay. Everyone was warm, welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and overlooked the beautiful hotel grounds and beach, making it an even more enjoyable place to unwind.

While the hotel grounds and lobby were beautiful, I personally wouldn't consider this a true 5-star hotel. The rooms felt quite dated and unfortunately weren't as well maintained as expected. Ours was dusty and had spider webs, which was disappointing. The bathroom lighting was also extremely dim, making it very difficult to get ready properly, something many women will understand can be quite frustrating. The advertised hair salon was another disappointment. The equipment appeared very outdated, and after a visit, my friend's hair was left badly damaged, which was concerning. The food also fell short of expectations. Breakfast was included in our package, but the buffet offered limited variety for what is advertised as a 5-star property. On one morning, the fresh milk available for cereal had gone off, which was particularly disappointing. The hotel restaurants were also underwhelming. We found the food lacked flavour, and on multiple occasions we waited around 45 minutes for our meals to arrive. Overall, while the location, grounds, and staff were definite highlights, the rooms, dining experience, and facilities did not meet the standard I would expect from a hotel marketed as 5-star.

Fantastic ocean view location, well appointed ocean view suite with private pool, excellent service and facilities, impressive breakfast selection, 5-10 minute drive to shopping and dining options.

It was a very relaxing hotel with beautifully maintained rooms and amazing sunsets.. Although there was easy access to the main town we found it easier to eat on site for the short time we were there. I can't thank the staff enough for the warmth of their welcome at all levels, their assistance in obtaining fire dancing tickets at short notice, and the quality of the chefs in all kitchens - particularly the Teppanyaki Bar which was highly entertaining in addition to its quality food.

I honestly could not fault anything about this hotel.

We were exceptionally well welcomed during our honeymoon. Upon arrival, we received a small cake and some sweets to celebrate the occasion, and our room was beautifully decorated with rose petals, making it look truly special. The staff were amazing. always kind, attentive, and professional. Somehow, despite the hotel being full of guests, they managed to remember both our names and our room number, which made us feel genuinely valued. We stayed in an ocean-view room with a bathtub, but without a private pool. In the end, I was actually happy not to have a private pool, since the main pool was never crowded, was absolutely fantastic, and offered an incredible view of the beach. There was also a restaurant by the pool where guests could order drinks and food throughout the day for an additional charge. The infinity pool made a huge difference, especially because the sunsets were simply breathtaking. Breakfast was excellent, absolutely delicious, and served with a stunning view of the beach. In addition to the buffet, there was also an à la carte menu included in the breakfast, where guests could order eggs, mushrooms, and several other dishes. Besides the honeymoon cake, I would especially like to thank Gek Sri. It was also my wife’s birthday, and she kindly arranged another small cake so that we could sing Happy Birthday to her during breakfast. I offered to pay for it, but she explained that it was complimentary, allowing us to enjoy yet another thoughtful gift from the hotel.

Hiçbir şey organize değildi. Daha odaya girer girmez özel havuzun inanılmaz kirli olduğunu gördük. Bir kişi bile odayı vermeden kontrol etmez mi? Şaşırdık kaldık, hemen temizleyeceğiz dediler ama onun hemen temizlenemeyeceği aşikardı. Odayı havuzu için tuttuk ve havuzu kullanamadık. Öyle olunca ortak alanda ki havuza gittik bu sefer şemsiye istedik güneş direk vuruyordu rahat edemedik. Şemsiyemiz yok yeterince dediler. Şemsiyelik yer yapıp ona göre şemsiyesi olmayan otel yönetimi vardı. Özür dilenmesinden bıktık başta sıkıntı yok dedik ama baktık herşeye özür dileniyor yeter dedik çözüm üretin özür dileyip durmayın. Bir akşam zaten elektrik gitti elektriksiz kaldık. Baktığınız tesis güzel ama burnunuzdan geliyor açıkcası o paraya yazık diyorsunuz.

Unfortunately, our stay was extremely disappointing and far below Anantara standards. From the moment we arrived, we experienced several serious issues. Our room was not ready on time, and the reception team did not properly inform us. During check-in, we asked about the pottery class, but no one mentioned that it had an additional cost; we only found out later. There was also confusion about our booking. We booked for 4 people — 3 adults and 1 child — but the hotel initially said breakfast was only included for 3 people. When we finally checked in, there were three workers doing repair work right in front of our private pool, creating a lot of noise and making it impossible to relax. After we complained, the staff tried to help and upgraded our room, but the new villa was also not ready when we returned. When we came back around 19:00, the room had no electricity until 20:22 because the generator was not working. After the electricity came back, the water from all taps was brown and extremely dirty. Someone was still trying to fix the water issue around 22:30, which was already far too late, especially when travelling with a 4-year-old child who should have been sleeping by then. Because the water was still not clean, we could not take a shower until the next morning. I would like to mention that the staff tried their best and were polite, but many of the problems seemed impossible for them to solve because they were related to the hotel’s overall condition and facilities. The hotel itself feels very old and in urgent need of renovation. Even the upgraded villa needed many repairs and updates. The towels and bedding also felt very old and did not meet the standard expected from a luxury hotel. Because of all these issues, we had to check out early. Overall, this was a very stressful and uncomfortable experience, especially for a family with a young child.

I wouldn’t say that I dislike anything about the property at all. I would say that the food potentially could be a little more innovative.

To be honest, there was very little that I enjoyed about this property. The facilities, the room, the atmosphere, and the overall experience did not meet my expectations. The only aspect I genuinely appreciated was the complimentary photo shoot offered by the hotel, which included two professionally edited photos. This was a thoughtful gesture and one of the few positive memories we took away from our stay.

What disappointed me the most was the gap between the hotel’s five-star positioning and the actual experience. As part of the Anantara brand, I expected a premium level of comfort and quality. Instead, I felt as though I was staying in a very old property that is clearly in need of a complete refurbishment. Many areas of the hotel appeared worn and outdated, there was a noticeable mouldy smell in several parts of the property, and the overall condition did not reflect the standards of a luxury resort. Even the toiletries provided in the room were among the poorest I have encountered in a hotel of this category. What made the experience even more disappointing was that we arrived directly from another Anantara Ubud property where the experience had been exceptional in every aspect. The contrast was striking. We went from an outstanding resort to a property that felt tired and neglected, despite costing even more. Considering the price paid, this was a real disappointment and a great shame.

Staff were really nice and made an effort to get to know you. They checked in regularly on my needs. I loved the pool in my room, was decent size and depth! The complimentary 45min photo shoot was a fun surprise and I loved it because now I have physical evidence of my sweet memories here forever. Breakfast was halal, which was great for me. There were great touches to the hotel e.g bracelet and gong on arrival, complementary cakes, shuttle to padang beach. The location was very good. You felt like you were staying in a luxurious place- worth the money.

No one mentioned how close monkeys come, so first night I was chilling in the outdoor jacuźzi and there was a horde of monkeys that came nearby. I jumped into my room quickly but it meant I was a bit nervous using pool / jacuzzi after a certain time for the rest of my stay. I got mosquite bites a lot and only realised later there was a plug in repellant. I think this should have already been plugged in before I arrived and topped up through my stay as a matter of course. The door to go outside was quite stiff to open. The variety of English language movies/ TV channels could be better e.g no HBO.

Everything exceeded our expectations! The staff, rooms and buffet breakfast were wonderful. The uninterrupted sea-view and infinity pool made the experience a total re-set, we left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

The rooms were very large and spacious. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind - shout out to Kartika for the Canang Class and being so friendly through out our stay. The lobby is dramatically beautiful. The hotel welcomed us with honeymoon cake as well which was a really lovely touch. We had a garden swimming pool room which was huge peaceful. The pools by the cliff and staff there were amazing. The transfers to Padang beach and Uluwatu temple were a nice service and staff were extremely friendly and insightful.

The hotel does have a tired feel to it and overall many things lack the modernness you’d expect for the price and 5 star hotel. We also had a major issue being locked out on our balcony as the door was so stiff and old. We had to flag down a staff member after 30 minutes of waiting.

360 restaurant felt underused with excessive focus on regular check ins during meals. Personally I think the menu and service offering could do with an overhaul - perhaps buffet dinner instead of a la carte? The breakfast buffet set up seemed like a better use of the space. Great views and great friendly staff.
