Access via outside stairs could be challenging - especially with suitcases.

Reviewed Apr 7, 2026With a room on the first floor there are fabulous views of the sea and the mountains behind. Kaikoura is beautiful. There is also a lovely walk round the peninsula from the property where we saw a lot of fur seals. The room is well-equipped and clean. Lovely stay.

Reviewed Mar 29, 2026The studio was well equipped. Everything that was in the description was correct. It was very clean. The bed was large and very comfortable. The location was perfect for doing everything we wanted to do and the view was stunning.
More of a suggestion - the patio doors would benefit from a mirrored film on the glass. Allowing you to see out but not in. Just to give a bit more privacy, especially as studio no.2 have to walk past the window to access their property.

Two recliner armchairs was an unexpected bonus along with a variety of small packets of cereals, fruit pouches and yoghurts for breakfast including the usual but generous Milk. These little extras were great as if don't have car or not have thought about it, could create minor problem. Beautiful view and Vista from room.Management very welcoming and helpful on ideas of what to see and do. Close to Kaikoura Outlook and Walking tracks. May not be suitable if difficulty with stairs but husband in 70's had back injury and Hamstring injury still in recovery but managed. Well worth the stay and will return..

Some complimentary breakfast items were supplied in our room including Milk which was helpful. Lovely host, we had a great few days in Kaikoura.

Bed was super comfy and had some nice reclining chairs :) Also a lovely balcony seat with views over Kaikoura and a 5 minute walk to the lookout point! They were kind to leave us some milk, yoghurt and fruit too which was much appreciated :)
Slightly far out if you don’t have a car - luckily wasn’t an issue for us but maybe would recommend a more central accommodation without a car!

Reviewed Jan 26, 2026Did not really meet owner/staff. Got a key code for the key lock. Comfortable Bed, Large room, two comfy chairs, two suitcase holders. Good view (when not raining). Good communication with owner during a power cut, which also cut the water supply.
Upstairs room, tricky for carting luggage upstairs, due to lack of fitness. However, steps were safe. Unexpected power cut on the morning of departure. Luckily inbetween my shower and wife showering. Came back on within 30 minutes. Contacted owner by phone, but power restored before she could get through to power company.

Die Küchenzeile ist sehr klein. Es hat keine Kochplatte und auch genau 2x Geschirr. Sich selbst was zubereiten ist schwierig.

The host was also really friendly and very helpful! I loved waking up early to see the sunrise from my room, and also drive just a minute to see the amazing views of the Kaikoura Peninsula.
Has a 90s aesthetic. But it doesn't bother me too much.

Nothing, it suited us well. It's worth noting that you really do need a car when staying here. Its a quick 5 min car journey into town but more than 30 mins to walk, and its uphill on the way back!

It was immaculate, beautifully decorated, a lovely wallpapered feature wall, 2 comfy reclining chairs to watch tv and the highlight was the stunning views from balcony.

Essecke und Fernsehsesseln mit kleinen Beistelltisch - dreiteilige Balkontür, die zu 2/3 geöffnet werden kann - zwar keine Kochmöglichkeit außer einer Mikrowelle aber ansonsten top ausgestattet mit vielen nützlichen Alltagsgegenständen die nicht üblich sind (Küchenrolle, Servietten, S&P Streuer) - modernes Bad mit Brause statt festem Duschkopf
- minimaler Kritikpunkt, aber nicht wirklich schlimm, wenn man das Wasser anstellt (Küche oder Bad) dann kommt das Wasser nicht so stark und nach 1-2 Sekunden kommt dann deutlich mehr, wenn man es nicht weiß, kann sich versehentlich nass spritzen. Aber wie gesagt, wenn man es weiß stört es nicht

At night there were lots of bugs and a swarm of them came in one night when we opened the door. Breakfast is ok - just basic cereal, yogurt and packaged fruit.

A little too basic wrt to little boxes of wheat bix etc. Could do with a propper meusli. Yoghurt was too basic. Would have loved a greek style unsweetened yoghurt?? Green tea???
