The hotel is pretty old, which means some things are breaking down or lower in quality. But the staff tries really hard to make up for it with excellent service, frequent cleaning, good prices, and lots of friendliness. Wifi is spotty, not necessarily going to get a good connection. Shower was a bit weak in my room.
The staff were excellent and room cleaned every day,the hotel is a little dated and showing signs and the air con in my room was very noisy, but the location was handy for my trip, also was value for money so I would definitely stay again next time in Cebu.
Good Air conditioner, no hot water, no coffee
Excellent staff. More power outlets required
Great
Great staff
My check in was problematic although I presented my Passport and receipt for my 2 weeks. The room I was checked in was Not cleaned and there was a bad smell coming in from the bathroom into the whole room. The air conditioner was too small for a large room like that and was always hot in the afternoons. Only, after Expedia took my complaint to the Hotel Manager thaty room was cleaned and the staff tried to give me better service! Overall I think I received 2 star and Not 3 star hotel service that I paid for?
Get place
The room had no windows only borrowed light glass blocks The AC was old very noisy and dirty No hot water The toilet flushed eith black water Very disappointing
# No Laundry available #Mould on grout in bathroom
It took 3 day to fix fix the cable plus the ads that you give free potable water bottle water but you do not and reception area that had air shut off because it’s so hot they said is no customers it’s all the big lie
.
The hotel has no facilities what so ever. You cannot even buy water. Our room has no windows! Just a very dim light so it was impossible even to read in the room. The decor was dark, the bedding was even dark brown. There was no hot water. Thankfully we had only booked one night. We will never stay there again. I must say that the staff were polite, friendly and helpful.
I stay there for four days it took 3 days to fix the tv cable in the room and the app said you get free water but no they said the manager says no more free water and they’re also so damn cheap. They turn the AC off in the lobby not that I was staying in our lobby, but it took forever to check in and it is hot as hell
We choose Richmond because it was closer to the hospital for my mom's doc appt. But it was very poor. No foot rag after shower your foot is wet and there's no rag to dry our feet. No cups or drinking glass to use to brush our teeth. We won't be back again.
Nice
There was cockroach wondering on the floor. The matress of the bed is dirty, a lot of stain as well as the extra bed matress. I paid 5500pesos a night it was not worth it.
The room was very hot. It has an air conditioner but it's too small for a room this size. Also they installed it very low to the ground so the cold air blows straight to your feet. The staff was friendly. The location was good. The Wi-Fi was very fast. I would be willing to stay here again but I don't think that it will probably happen.
Cheap, clean, and very friendly staffs
Its old, but its clean and closed to city.
Without grab app kolinda screwed
I recently booked a stay at this hotel for my friends and family through Expedia, which clearly stated that the reservation was for 4 adults. However, upon arrival, we were told by the front desk staff that only 3 guests were allowed and that we had to pay an additional 900 pesos for the fourth guest. This is a total scam! The pictures on Expedia are completely misleading. The actual condition of the hotel is far worse than what is shown online. The rooms were dirty, the amenities were lacking, and the overall environment was extremely disappointing. If I could rate this hotel negatively, I would. It’s frustrating to feel deceived by both the hotel and the booking platform. I would strongly advise potential guests to look elsewhere for accommodation to avoid similar disappointment and hidden charges. Rating: 1/5
The air-conditioning system at the front desk wasn't working.
It seems so old,the toilet is dirty, the reception was rude and unfriendly .Strictly for 2 persons only if exceeding 2 persons must pay 450 per head. Shower has extremely low water flow .I do not recommend this hotel .You can still find many affordbale and nice hotels nearby.
The room is so clean, may hot water ang shower, wide cabinet pwede nga matulog inside the cabinet. Hehehe
most friendly and hospitable staff they have there
Hotel condition bad, towels are really so stained ,the white color looks brown, linens are the same ,no glasses in the room for water, staffs are excellent, overall I will not recommend this place
The stay was excellent. The only problem was at check in. I booked the hotel for my family members in The Philippines but I was not with them. So there was a problem at check in. I had to overcome this by sending an email to the hotel authorising the family members to book in under my name. Otherwise, everything was alright.
We left early because the area was not safe, locks on room door didn’t work well, poor internet, no safe in the room, refrigerator was dirty and then they charged extra for lay drying the bedsheets We had booked 3 days but cancelled after the first night and had to forfeit the other days that we stayed. Do not recommend staying here
First I was given a room with a massive pillar in it. Can barely move in the room, couldn't believe shower where you can't even keep the soap. blocked shower, loud and noisy aircon. Room service felt bad for me and moved to a good room Stayed for week. Serive staff were good and looked after me well.
Poor conditions, room categories inconsistent standards/conditions
Friendly
The last stay with my mom! Her biggest complained was the room smell soo bad and not clean. #506. Terrible! Her First and second stay was awesome room was clean and spacious!
Friendly stff, very convenient, clean rooms
All staff are veey friendly and accommodating room is very clean
Another great stay at Richmond Plaza. Great value for the low rate. Close to Ayala, great staff, quiet rooms, no complaints.
Pros: low price, quiet, friendly helpful staff, some rooms are large, clean, good cheap breakfast, free WiFi, location close to Ayala (10 minutes walk). Cons: dated worn rooms, loose sink or shower fixtures, slow warm water, no immediate convenience stores. Hey folks it’s an inexpensive hotel near Cebu business park/Ayala. And it is the Philippines. If you want to spend $50-$100 USD per night you can do that nearby, but for $20 usd per night in this area, it is a bargain!
The hotel is bit old, good enough for the price..
Worst hotel. The door it’s hard to open not secure. Bath towels, bed sheets it’s been over worn the linen started pulling out and the color white turn to brownest. The worst sanitation, not secure to stay. Plus there cable it takes an hour to work.
The Cheapest Cozy Room you can find in the City. It's Worth every single penny.
pleasing Staff is What I'd like the Most
At that time the receptionists are very accommodating. Also, the room is very clean . One thing, the lights are not that bright since the color was yellow not the typical white lights
Not much around it. Room was older and could have been cleaner. There are better choices out there.
Location is good. Staff is helpful and cheerful. They helped us with our needs and reached out to us to resolve issues. We had a comfortable stay . Within reach to Ayala and surrounding mini marts and PSH. Easy transportation within few feet from entrance . No hassle here.
The staff was very nice. The room was older and outdated but then again so is the Philippines hehehaha
Old hotel, room was terrible, not comfortable bed.
I email the hotel & called multiple times to cancel a reservation due to a death of family member but never receive a response!
No staff, one front desk guy mostly. Not professional
I feel at home to this Hotel.
Whenever I need to stay overnight in Cebu I'll get a room here ! My rooms have always been clean, quiet, and spacious ! And the staff is extremely courteous and helpful ! I'd recommend Richmond Plaza Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and economical place to stay while in Cebu !!!
terrible, not happy in everything.
The staff was good & accomodating. The room was clean and they change linens every day. Located near Ayala and other establishments
It’s very accessible to Perpetual Succour Hospital and other landmarks in Cebu City.
Nice enough. Nice front staff.
Receptionist/manager at check in was awful, rude and condescending, perhaps racist. Also tried to extort extra charges
Do not stay here! Too much hidden charges! Hotels.com posted P960 per night (booked for two nights) but charged my card almost 5,000 Pesos! Non-cancellable! Awful
The staff are so nice
The staffs are so friendly
Very friendly staff, in a safe environment. Near to Ayala Mall
It was close to Ayala Center, about 10 minutes of walking.
It was a good stay not amazing. The staff were very courteous the room not so great the food was good
Staff was very helpful and accomodating. .
Stayed here for one night whilst passing through Cebu City. The pictures of the hotel look beautiful, and whilst it was good in real life, it didn’t quite compare. The reservation was made under my name, however they were still addressing my partner (a male) rather than me. I know it’s a culture thing to not appreciate women so much but it’s a trend that continued. When we had dinner in the restaurant, I asked for two cokes for myself and my partner, and the waiter just looked to my partner and asked what did I say. At breakfast, my partner ordered tea and I ordered juice, but she just bought out two tea’s. It’s only small things but can feel disrespectful and demoralising. On the whole it seemed to be the female staff not respecting other women, as except for one, the men were very respectful and addressing me. Definitely put a bad taste on the stay. But they helped us get a taxi in the morning. The ac was loud but worked. Room was fairly clean and the shower had warm water.
For 2nm nights we stayed they provide 1 towel only. Poor customer service
Room was cleaned, i like it. And i wanna go back hee with my family and friends..
Staff was good, no tv for English speaking only people, no amenities, cups, cooking facilities, no microwave
Great people
Very good service also they help me to get taxi at 1 am
Its not so good. The 10th floor hallways stinks with rat urine. Cable TV is not functioning properly. Water supply in the bathroom is discouraging.
Its old and not very well kept up, The rest room in the lobby didn't have a toilet seat, and you couldn't flush it without opening the back and putting in water from a bucket in the sink
I stayed there for the cebu marathon. It was convenient since it was walking distance from cebu business park.
Great customer's services! Staffs were friendly and always willing to help. Place was convenient to all the areas that I needed to go in that part of Cebu ! Thanks a bunch to the guards for an awesome job on helping us to get the transportation that we need each time!!!
Staff refuse to smile
I arrived late arround 10pm, this receptionist i believed he is gay he need to have customer service 101 training, so disappointing, they should trained that receptionist, no food available at this time kitchen closed at this time, local area no, i feel not comfortable, tthts why i transfered to different hotel and pay again, i dont finshed my 2 days with them, they will have money as they wont refund. I dont care. So dissapointing.
There was NO WATER IN THE BATHROOM AND TOILET. I had to scold the reception at 1:30 in the morning why we were not informed beforehand. Had it been, we could have asked for a pail and put water in it. Imagine going to the airport without having brushed your teeth and take a shower or at least even wash your face! At least they delivered 4 pails of water after my tirade! How come Hotels.com didn't downgrade its ratings? It doesn't deserve a 3.5 stars.
Roaches all over the room and there's something in the bed. The air condition is not doing properly, remote control of the air condition was not functioning
I don’t know where They got. this picture it certainly does not represent the room that we were assigned to. Would not recommend
Close to ayala center
not good
Hotel was very clean.Staff are very friendly and helpfull.
Building too old and room not spacious. Far away from eateries, shopping and entertainment.
The bed was a worn out memeory foam mattress. When we sat on or stretched out on it, the bed felt as if there were no mattress at all. There was about a half inch floor drop when you walk into bathroom. Every time one of us would walk out of the bathroom we would stub our toes or feet on that painful lip. Food was barely edible. There were several gnats fighting me for the bread when it was brought to the table. We spent the first 2-3 hours after check-in googling for more acceptable lodging. We Left the next morning and finished our vacation in much more acceptable lodging. We found lodging on our own. Travelocity didn’t assist us on this-we had to find a more acceptable place of lodging. After much messaging back and forth, Travelocity did help us get a refund for un-used nights.
Not much to say except it was not what we expected. Not a hotel I would recommend.

Stay away from this hotel worst hotel I ever stayed in Cebu
The room has no safety box, no deadbolt lock and the door can be easily open from outside.
Rooms are more dated compared to the pictures. We were given a different room with a smaller room and bed, looked like it was a room for one person. We were moved when we queried it as we had booked a bigger room wth a king bed. The hotel smelt and the receptionist came across miserable and sometimes rude. Average stay.
I'm not happy with this hotel.
Very good. Close to both Ayala and Mango Avenue
Shower curtain and floor rug in the bathroom was disgusting.
Room is clean only wifi signal in my room is unstable
Terrible service I booked my sister 2 nights due to last minutes reservation when she arrive hotel next day hotel front desk won't allow her check in the reservation they claim need vouchers to be able my sister to check in she needs to pay room tax they claim she will be refunded upon check when they receive payment thru orbits very upsetting very inconvenient especially my brother was in hospital
staff very friendly and accommodating. shopping schools nearby
The area was not to clean,,& the hotel was old,,,But the rooms were clean,,good beds,,,& close to the nightclub areas,,& Ayala mall
Front desk was polite and was able to accomodate me in a timely manner eventhough i checked in late at 8pm. The security gurads were friendly but they should or someone has to open the entrance door for you. Overall, if you want to stay in a budget hotel but accessible to important areas in the city, I highly recommend it.
Stay was a bit of discomfort due to room temp airconditioner is not working well
Upon arrival a very disappointing sight in front of hotel full of junk and garbage. We were housed where they put unused furniture and huge cable wire. Our room was cleaned at 4:30 in the afternoon. Shower head was clogged with mineral deposits. Air condition could not cool the room. TV remote battery was dead. Cabinets do not have hangers . Location of hotel was in the bad part of town which you want to avoid at night. Staff do not have any information on tourist attractions and transportation. City of Cebu is dirty full of unemployed trying to make a living. Many make shift houses along the sidewalks. The only safe place to go is the downtown area around the malls. Cebu is not ready for tourist accommodation a lot of areas to improve on like tourist information area. I do not have anything good to say about this hotel except to stay away. Wifi did not work for 2 days because the IT person was off during weekend.
Not okay.Maintenance decided to paint something on the floor where I was staying. Woke up with a pounding headache because of the paint fumes! TV-black and white!
pictures of the rooms and amenities posted on expedia website are not accurate.
