Ein Wellness Hotel, dass wir bei jedem Südafrika Urlaub zum Stressabau für die 1. Woche buchen. Wir schätzen die sehr gesunde Ernährung und nutzen verschiedene Anwendungen.

Leider sind die Zimmer und die Einrichtungen etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Es würde ihnen eine komplette Überarbeitung gut zu Gesicht stehen. Funktionen wie Toilettenspülung, Föhn funktionieren nicht immer. Stromanschlüsse nicht für Europäer geeignet.

Endroit magnifique et un service des plus pros . Personnel tres gentil et dispo ! Les installations sont superbes et tres propres.

Literally nothing

In my opinion, my experience with this retreat was extremely disappointing and far below what I would expect from a property presenting itself as a high-end or luxury retreat.

This was one of the most disappointing and unprofessional hotel experiences I have had. I contacted the hotel before my arrival to request a date change. No one answered the phone, despite repeated attempts. When I followed up by email, I only received a response on the actual day of arrival, conveniently claiming that the request was now “too last minute.” This feels deliberate and dishonest. Booking.com advised me to call the hotel directly — which was impossible because no one ever picked up the phone. Only afterward did I receive a templated, overly polite response that completely ignored the facts and the hotel’s responsibility. The communication style is misleading and manipulative: lots of empty courtesy phrases, zero accountability, zero willingness to resolve the situation. The tone suggests care and understanding, but the actions show the exact opposite. For a hotel that claims to be 5-star, this behavior is unacceptable. It felt more like a strategy to enforce cancellation fees than a genuine hospitality business. Special mention: the handling by Duty Manager Venantheo Petersen was very shady and untrustworthy. Polite wording on the surface, but clearly avoiding responsibility and providing no real solution. I strongly advise travelers to stay away unless you are willing to lose your money if anything goes wrong. There are far more honest and professional places to stay in South Africa.

Wow, exceptionally beautiful place to stay with calm, serene surroundings. The Staff were amazing, so kind, helpful, friendly it felt like we lived there. Superb comfort. The Spa was lovely and setting again just superb. The food was very well made and presented, very healthy. Nice gym. A superb holiday.

We loved everything about the place

We spent two days at the hotel during my birthday, and it was an absolute delight! One of the highlights was the food , the breakfasts were simply exceptional. At first glance, everything looked healthy and well-balanced: fresh seasonal fruits, homemade yoghurts, nutritious grains, freshly squeezed juices, and warm dishes made with perfectly selected ingredients. The coffee was aromatic, the presentation was thoughtful, and the overall experience was both aesthetically pleasing and delicious. It felt like more than just a meal it was part of the overall wellness journey. Although we didn’t try lunch, as we spent most of the time in the spa, pool, and sauna, the breakfasts alone left a lasting culinary impression. You can tell the kitchen is designed with care for both health and enjoyment. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff every team member was kind, calm, and genuinely welcoming. Their quiet professionalism and warm smiles made us feel completely relaxed and cared for throughout our stay.

There was honestly nothing we didn’t like — everything from the food to the atmosphere was flawless. Even during the winter, the stay felt warm and soulful.

This was our second visit. The property is in the most beautiful setting with gorgeous views. The staff are extremely hospitable. The food is so tasty and healthy too! The spa was fantastic and the massages we got were some of the best we ever had. 10/10

what did we like? everything! we were upgraded to a suite - it was so lovely. the furnishings were comfortable and tasteful. the bed was amazing. all the staff were so friendly, the neighbouring (walking distance) winery is great for a tasting. we had a half day spa treatment was fantastic as was relaxing in the library in the evening. all the food we had was delicious. we enjoyed the bike rides too!

Review We had a 6 wonderful nights stay at the Sante, it was truly a relaxing luxurious experience. We were warmly welcomed and shown the extensive facilities of the hotel and spa. The Room The room was huge with luxurious finishes and a wonderful ambience. I have never seen a bigger shower and the freestanding bath was an experience, looking out on the fabulous views. The bed was extremely comfortable and the cleanliness, to the highest of standards. I can’t really think of anything that they could improve! The Staff All of the staff that we came into contact with, from the reception to the restaurants to the spa were friendly and provided exceptional levels of professional service. They have been trained to the highest of standards and really make you feel at home. The Food The hotel is gluten and dairy free, with all the food being fresh and natural. They have set menus that change everyday for each meal. The food was always to a particularly high standard, as was the freshness of ingredients. The breakfast was particularly inviting! The Facilities The hotel has wonderful facilities, including two pools (with amazing views) and a spa with all the services you could require. We used the spa a lot and every treatment we had was excellent. We would highly recommend anyone visiting the area to stay at the Sante. We are already planning our next trip back!

The rooms were great and the area is beautiful. The location being near farms means there are plenty chances of insects entering the room so need to keep the doors tidy shut. Super quiet hotel with only healthy food choices by design. If you are looking to meditate this is your place.

Absolutely a fantastic place. A bit off the beaten path, but dead center of the best of Stellenbosch wine country. Great service. Only 10 suites in the main building, so very quiet and relaxing. The spa is beautiful. The food is fantastic and healthy. Yes, it can be both. Great attention to detail. We will be back.

A nice hotel but completely in the middle of nowhere. If the Uber that you ordered is really coming is not save as some drivers refuse the final 3km over the gravel road. No breakfeast buffet but a small selection of a la card and health oriented food.. The same applies to the dinner . Only one menue to choose and as it is far away from anything else you do not just go around the corner to grab something.

Great spot that is completely new. Only knock would be to have the outdoor pool heated and more waters available in the room especially considering you're in wine country drinking a lot of wine

The road was being resurfaced on way to location but that is only a temporary issue.

One of my worst hotel experiences ever. My expensive Boss suit was ruined by their housekeeping service using a hot iron on it and then refusing to compensate me for it, despite their house manager accepting liability. Due to their incompetence, the wedding of my niece was spoilt for me. Would never stay there again and would never recommend anyone else to either.

Sante is a truly remarkable wellness retreat in the Winelands. From arrival to departure, we embarked on a short wellness journey that captivated us feeling completely spiritually, mentally and physically rejuvenated, re energized and relaxed. We stayed in a lovely luxurious suite overlooking the courtyard. The views all round were magnificent. With an abundance of wellness programs, spa treatments and complimentary facilities, one is spoilt for choice. The cuisine was exceptional and extremely healthy. The service was outstanding. Gardens, outdoor and indoor pool areas and gym all spaciously situated on the Estate surrounded by immaculate gardens and beautiful mountains. What a memorable experience. I highly recommend this amazing retreat and am certain to return to this unique gem for complete mind, body and soul healing. The room was spacious and beautiful.

The interior design of the hotel is 5* luxury, the grounds are beautiful. It could be run so much better. So many nicely decorated areas in the hotel, could stay there all day long if it didn't seem so unattended in the F&B department.

This hotel could be charging three times as much if it had some atmosphere. They need to play down on the wellness and get some serious consulting around F&B which is completely lacking in all aspects. Unacceptable with such a beautiful hotel not to make full use of it's bar and restaurant. Team up with an international luxury hotel brand and the hotel will get it's missing life aspect. "Wellness" is not an excuse not to have proper fixed menu's, permanently staffed bar, pool service and to have reduced restaurant hours/menus.

As soon as I walked into the magnificent reception area at Sante I knew I would want to return. We had landed in Cape Town Airport in the late afternoon and we ere picked up by our driver Bev for the transfer to the retreat. A must because you will arrive already relaxed and not having to deal with the Cape Town traffic. The check in was seem less and we were not rushed to dinner even though our arrival was later in the evening. Our room was beautiful with plenty of space and an amazing view. The food was fresh and innovative and our spa treatments were so relaxing. The spa team were very flexible with our choices and extremely professional and kind. We did not visit other areas as we really needed to totally unwind and that is what we did! Everything about this outstanding retreat was just what we required and we will return one day to experience this special place again!

Breakfast very good, all meals are set menus would prefer to have a choice as lunches and dinners are set and you get what you get and are quite pricey considering you can’t choose and mains portion size is tiny.

The room was beautiful, food and staff excellent.

The Spa was too big and impersonal and the spa prices were prohibitive. We were told Yoga was included in the price and were then charged a crazy price for a yoga class. When we wanted to use the sauna we were told that it was not on as there weren't enough guests and this is supposed to be included in the price - one of the few facilities that is!

If you are looking for a 5 star health and wellness experience this is the place to book. From the accommodation, food, staff, treatments, spa facilities, gardens, walks, birds, all the specialists in the health Optimizing Centre - everything is world class. You will never want to leave 😉

The staff were so helpful and met every request. The room was immaculately clean and had lots of storage space which was really nice. The USB next to the bed was so helpful! The spa servi was were awesome, the therapists were great and the products used were so nice. The pools were great, the food was incredible and overall the grounds were beautiful.

One small thing- an outlet for the hair dryer near the bathroom sinks would be helpful. Also, the fountains could use some more maintenance.

I do wish you could order stand alone meals vs 3 courses when you dine. Other than that minor aspect everything was great. I will be visiting again and hopefully stay longer.

Coming to Sante on dirt road indicated something very quiet and special and it was. beautiful place, tasteful decorated on a big land and beautiful view. Very big room, romantic bathroom and balcony with dream view. We just laved it. Suggestion for management, do something more about food, as people who stay at your place probably would like to eat at spot. Very simple selection for breakfast: coconut yoghurt with fruit, eggs and boring, but probably healthy muffin. Same breakfast each morning. We took dinner only once, again seems like same menu each day and quality and taste not fitting to Sante` niveau.

The location, cleanliness, decor, and facilities are spectacular. For the price they charge, at least one treatment should be included. Spa services are extensive but quite expensive . The atmosphere is tranquil. Feels like you're the only guest. Staff are friendly.

I understand that this is a wellness retreat, and only healthy food is served. But healthy doesn't need to be boring or bland. I am so disappointed that we were offered the same breakfast for 3 days. There are so many options for gluten-free, dairy free, sugar-free, and yet there is no variety on the menu. We stayed for dinner on one night. Again, it was a very limited menu that was not exceptional in any way. And at R900+ for 2 people, we left very disappointed. This was the only aspect that really let down what could be a phenomenal experience.

Went on a half day package which was a massage and lunch included. The massages were good and of excellent standard. You could use the spa facilities afterwards. The change / showers are excellent generously large. The lunch was just above average. But healthy.

Mountain bikes are available, but the roads are not great for riding on when vehicles fly by on the dirt road doing 60 kph. I would ask that the staff find farms in the area that would be willing to allow cycling on their roads instead of asking the customer to ride up random places and ask. The evenings are peaceful and enjoying a glass of wine on the patio before dinner was very enjoyable. Definitely going back again!

Nicest place we have ever stayed. The facilities and the staff were amazing. The food was excellent and the views are something you have to experience.

My Porsche didn't like the road in - it definitley needs regrading

We have just come back from staying in the sante wellness retreat. We booked a 2 week detox. It was without a doubt one of the best 2 week stays I have had in my life. My wife and I have come away from there completely spiritually, mentally and physically reset. I lost 3.4 kilos in the first week. The food was amazing. So we'll thought out and nutritionally perfected. The treatments were amazing and state.of the art. We were being treated with various machines and techniques all day. We were starting the day withyoga each morning and everything just went from there. The staff were probably the best we have encountered in any establishment. Completely full of positivity and smiles each day. This place is a big big must if you are feeling like life is becoming a bit dull, monotonous and repetitive. And you need a good boost and want to come out the other end feeling healthy and mentally reset and ready to address whatever life is ready to throw at you. I can not recommend this place and especially the staff enough. I will 100% be going back there twice a year to get my self energised and rest my spiritual and mental facilties. Best detox I have ever had..Need I say more. .
