Everything could have been better

I did not take breakfast. On the first morning, I needed to rest, and on subsequent days my meetings at another venues were starting quite early. However, I was pleased to know breakfast was available, if needed. Clyde was a great host at the front desk.

on one of the days, a house lizard fell off the curtain as I was closing the curtains in the room. I do realize that these stubborn creepies can be ubiquitous at times. But the hotel could perhaps think of a plan to manage this sort of thing. Small creatures in a room can cause a great deal of distress for certain types of guests.

The staff are very friendly especially clide,he was very helpful, and I like the location .The room was okay and clean..downside, no fridge or microwave in the room.

I always love too stay here, the staff are helpful, friendly and courteous. I love how they have breakfast in the morning and they also washed my clothes perfectly. I loved my room, I paid just a tiny bit extra and got the best room with both views of the racetrack and the surrounding mountains. It always feels like home when I am there. The only thing is many years ago they had the option of a small lunch, and a sit down dinner which unfortunately they don't have any more, I use too Love these options and the food was always delicious! I hope in time that they include this option again.

Good location, but the property is not worth to what we pay for. Receptionist (lady) is very rude. I'd suggest to train her on how to treat the customers. Her behaviour is like guests come there for free.

The hotel is located in a safe and quiet area and about 15 minute-walking to the city center. The hotel is clean and its amenities are in good condition. The hotel staff is very helpful. The breakfast provided by this hotel is good and affordable. Overall this is a very good budget hotel.

Not flash or fancy, but a comfortable stay with views overlooking the racetrack and helpful and amenable staff.

THE LOCATION IS GOOD, THE FACILLITY IS NOTHING. ROOM IS TOOOOO OLD LIKE 100 YEARS AGO, NO COLD DRINKS, I HAVE TO BUY. THE BED WAS SOME PARTS BROKEN, COVERS ARE VERY VERY OLD LOOK LIKE DIRT.

Staff and service were excellent. Ever ready to help . Nothing was difficult when assistance was required. Staff went out of their ways to help, no matter what the issue was.The accommodation was basic but good value for what we paid.

Not really a great place to stay unless you’re on a tight budget and don’t really care a great deal about comfort

I like that I have my privacy . The room was safe . There was no disturbance . The view was great and I also like the way the sitting area on the ground floor is designed with all history and traditional things.

Did not like the welcoming lot of misunderstanding in regards to the payment of the room. The Aircon needs to clean the filter.. it was bad . The bathroom also needs a very good cleaning especially the shower walls and the basin .The toilet was ok. The bed was also ok and clean..

Fabulous service from very knowledgeable staff. Comfortable walking distance from the waterfront area... Clean quality facilties.

This hotel provided exactly as advertised. Location let us walk to the waterfront and back which was about 20 minutes each way. The staff were super helpful and offered arrangements for a tour of the island as well as exchanging currency for us. The breakfast was fairly basic but delicious and efficient. If you are not looking for an overly fancy place to stay I would highly recommend ot

The noise from the nearby road

The room I was given is in dire need of refurbishing, all the furniture is chipped and uncared for, some skirting boards are falling off, strange bedsheets (very slippery and don't stay in place)

We barely slept the 2 nights we had. The bed was so hard and even though we were at 5th floor we could hear everything from the road (It felt like we were sleeping next to it) Walking distance to the city centre is easy to find.

Convenable

The stay was okay. The price was affordable and comfortable. The people at the desk were pleasant and helpful. The area was clean, peaceful and calm. Bus stop to city center was was a 10-15 min walk, so is the bank.

Towels got taken even if they were hanging up. We had fewer towels than guests.

The staff were helpfull at giving directions on how to get around. The plumbing leaked, cracked bathroom basin. The shower telephone was unvontrolable...bursts of hot water then loss of pressure. Water heater for making hot drink in unit was inplugable so had to get adapter from reception. No cup in room- get it from reception. Hallway lights did not turn on late at night very unsafe. Lobby also in full darkness. Would only allow one towel per day and no sheet change during a 3 day stay. Advertised a free breakfast but there is a charge and you must be registered the day before.

Great location located across from the famous Champ de Mars racetrack, (horses). Nice open space across from hotel, the racetrack central area has been turned into a recreation spot in an otherwise built up central city. Breakfast available on site in addition to other drinks during the day. (We had nice cold beers).

Too pricey, Awful small bed Pillows, Stained bed sheets, Dirty shower curtains, Broken sockets, No Ironing Table, Horrible white bulbs in rooms, Our basin tap was not giving cold water.

In Port Louis, this was a good value for the money. Clean and comfortable. But not at all fancy.

Close to French embassy and horse racing track. Pleasant staff and overall value for your money.

A 10.30 curfew was set by the hotel which was surprising as It wasn’t advertised on the website. Facilities are a bit outdated by today’s standards.

That it’s closer to the city center

They don’t provide water and the facility looks old. For the prices they charge at least they need to provide water

The staff were very helpful and accommodating! Room was clean.

Had to find our own taxi at the airport. Originally we read there was shuttle service. Kind of a scary ride! We went out for a walk and to get some fresh air but the area was quite sketchy. No restaurants close enough to walk to.

Booked room wth balcony but its not private tats for common balcony.No point of booked room wth balcony n give extra money for that.Bed is feel like dusty n not clean long time. Not worth price.

This is not a luxury hotel but the welcome is warm and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Aircon in the room, but not the restroom, which was not great, cause you're sticky again the minute you step outside of the shower, but then enter the room to glorious air conditioned coldness. Came back to the room late and there were no lights and almost went down the stairs, instead of the passage.

The hotel is very old and dated. It really needs a refit not very well located unless you’re going to the racecourse it’s at least 20 minute walk to town which we were advised wasn’t very safe Breakfast was just a half cooked omelette and a few pieces of fruit and a bit of baguette The staff was helpful and friendly

Nothing, it was an absolute piece of dump. I lasted only 30 minutes even though i had booked for 4 days. Reviews don't do any justice and it was an utter disappointment

It's an excellent place to stay, not fancy but clean, and the price is right.

Renovations are required in general Our tv didn’t work so they had us change rooms. The bedside table was rusty as were items in the bathroom.
