This is our 3rd time to stay here. It was not as good as our last stay. Rooms were clean
Dining room was not open while we were there and no buffet style breakfast. It was in the bar and items on the menu were all priced separately.
We had a wonderful overnight stay at the Inishboffin House Hotel! Stunning location, great family room, very friendly and welcoming staff, delicious breakfast! The perfect spot for us to explore the beautiful island of Inishbofin! We can't wait to go back next summer 😀
Nice location but that's where it ends
Poorly managed and staffed by indifferent and incompetent workers. Horrible food Grim and shabby interoir and exterior. Uncomfortable bed. Overall this is not a good hotel.
Location
Very expensive for what it was
The room was very spacious and comfortable with a sea view
The food was very mediocre. No fresh fish, just battered haddock; for an island property disappointing. I thought breakfast should have been included for the price
Great location - just beside the pier. Staff were extremely helpful - couldnt do more for you. We were only on a short visit and had lunch in the hotel and it was very nice and great value for money. We had a sea view. The views, location, outside seating - everything was fantastic. A great location for exploring both sides of the island.
Location was perfect
No breakfast included with booking Very poor selection of drinks in bar. Maintenance very poor. Some double glazed windows need replaceing. We're in the same condition 12 months ago.
The friendliness of the staff. Couldn’t do enough for me in dealing with my booking problem
Location and friendliness of the staff
Big rooms. Good views. Centrally located
Slightly anonymous. Not much character .
Breakfast was OK.
eVERYTHING WAS SUFFICIENT.
Location was fabulous but the hotel itself is very basic. In my opinion it was way too expensive for what it was. Bed very small and uncomfortable. We paid almost €250 per night and that did not even include breakfast. The staff were lovely and the location is lovely.
Overpriced Uncomfortable bed
Position is super, staff very helpful, views amazing
Restaurant area lacking in atmosphere , breakfast was average
Good sized room with lovely view of the harbour. The hotel is very close to the pier but provides pick up and drop off for bags .
The furniture in the room looked a bit worn,.
The room was very big, the view was spectacular and the staff were lovely.
Great location
It was barren and felt more like a hostel than a hotel, breakfast not included in the booking, I felt it was a very expensive stay for such a basic place…buckets for leaks on floor in reception, 8 books in total in what they call ‘the library’ , it’s misleading , I wish I’d known before booking how sparse it was…
Nice staff. Clean hotel with lovely sea views close to ferry. Breakfast good .
Fusebox located in the room gave off constant noise so either we had power with noise or no power. Bed mattress was really hard. Seemed like a cheap mattress that had seem better days. On request staff brought a quilt to help with mattress cushioning which helped
Right on the water, and at the start of a walk out to Cromwell’s fort. The staff helped point out how to get there, and they knew the tide times. The first floor lounge overlooks the old harbour. Beautiful, peaceful views.
Breakfast wasn’t included.
Location and have outdoor space to relax by the sea
The convenience and the view from the balcony room was amazing
The lack of entertainment in the evening, then again it was early June so we didn’t really expect too much on the music scene that other establishments did offer
Location. Clean.
Couldn’t turn down heat.
All the food was delicious. Staff very helpful efficient and friendly. Accommodation special with beautiful view
Great location. Friendly staff, clean rooms
What an amazing Hotel, and their exceptianal staff!!! Stepped right of the ferry and into their lovely shuttle bus, which was piloted by a wonderful young man!!! The vibrant lass at reception was so professional, helpful and cheerie!!! The Kitchen/wiating staff were 5 star professionals and the the cheeseburger was the best I have ever had in the 14 years Of living in Connemara!!! And being a Yank, I am more than qualified to rate the USAs number one sanwich!!! Thumbs up all, you are wonderfull and amazing!!! My wife and I couldnt possibly be more pleased with all of ye!!!!! We will be back!!!
Only that we had to go home.......
Perfect accomodation
Beautiful Location, on a Beautiful Island. Wonderful and Helpful Staff, ready to look after you, the minute you arrive, and when you check out. Excellent Facilities. Peace and Tranquility.
There is nothing, Ii didn't like.
Ok
More of a choice
helpful friendly staff
Perfect location. Staff lovely. Hotel needs updating. Breakfast is extra, no B&B option when booking.
Hotel is tired and no B&B option when booking
The atmosphere and character that is generated by the geographical separation from what passes as the, 'everyday' for the visitor.
Missing out on hearing the Corncrake - my fault, not his.
The staff were amazing, very sweet, very accommodating, and eager to ensure guests were having an exceptional stay.
The facility is in need of updating. Furniture is worn, drapes are old and stained, locks on doors don't work, etc. The elevator gets turned off at night when no one is manning the desk. I don't think the heat was on when we first arrived as it was freezing!
We were first arrived, we were given a room without a seaview, I asked if we could have one with a seaview and the receptionist changed our room, which made a huge difference to our stay
I felt sorry for the waiter, we were waiting for 1hour and 15 minutes for our food and it was very difficult for him to manage this. I understand that it was low season however.
The bar man pairaig is a great worker and made our trip a sweet human! Lovely family's working there who's kids played with ours they collected and dropped us from and to the boat would highly recommend for a family holiday
Amazing location and great views! The rooms are warm and comfortable. Vast breakfast selection.
Friendly staff, location.
No air con in room or no fan to be had.. very stuffy in room.
Beautiful location and lovely atmosphere . was there to play music and had lovely sessions . Exhausted since i returned.
Coffee was bit cold at breakfast/ i love scrambled eggs but only fried but all minor things Lovely place and enjoyed my stay.
Very Clean and great staff could not have been more helpful. Great value for money. Great location.
The food was not great, I think they could make a bit more of any effort with the bar area to make it look a little more inviting.
Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff good food
Great location. Helpful staff Live music in bar
We stayed in August me and my friend and our 2 boys The view was fab and lovely family room and balcony area plenty of hot water for nice baths the breakfast was fab lots of choice I loved everything!Staff so nice brought us down to restaurant for dinner and to the boat . Hotel is only a short walk from boat and 20 mins walk to centre of island and beach is 10 mins cycle
All perfect
Comfy beds, friendly staff.
Felt hotel foyer and bar/restaurant area were bit lacking in atmosphere & not very cosy.
It was a bit non luxurious but the food, staff and my room were excellent.
The lift gets turned off at times and the button needs mending but it didn’t really matter because everything else made up for it.
Location was very good with fantastic view. Lovely common area to sit with beautiful landscape around. Food was reasonably priced.
We could hear the room next door very clearly. Breakfast option whilst being very good for fried is lacking a bit on the continental side.
It was a great location and comfortable.
Bar area very limited
Great location and wonderful helpful staff especially Gemma who was extremely helpful and sweet.
Breakfast was very poor standard, Water melon only fruit visible.3 bowls of packaged cereal.Self service cooked breakfast was unappealing
Bath area in room was not clean.Food in bar was very limited.Carpet on the stairway was worn.
Loved our stay here. Within walking distance of the ferry and with lovely views of the harbour it is a great value for money place to stay. Rooms were fine and contained all mod-cons. Staff were brilliant. Danielle was a great host behind the bar, very friendly and chatty. The other workers who were off-duty were socializing in the bar and invited us to join them and we had a great night. Lots of belly laughs into the night. They really made our stay so much better and we will definitely be back for a visit.
Only complaint is that the room was very warm and we couldn't reduce the temperature.
The location was amazing and the receptionist was very pleasant.
The beds looked like they had not been changed. We saw a rat on the front lawn in the afternoon beside the picnic benches! The TV remote did not work nor did the hairdryer in the room. The breakfast was awful, and the tables were dirty and sticky. All in all we would not return to this hotel.
Location
Seems to be no one in charge . A lot of things not working properly . No lift at night time , door to bedroom opens sometimes ,but it could take five turns of the key . Breakfast hap hazard , missing basic items
Good location, liked the food, & Irish music.. staffs were kind
The heater didn’t work, the weather was very cold & windy.. so the room was very cold without heater..
We had a balcony room facing the sea..beautiful. Loved the recliners in the garden - get more! Great Lift to and from the ferry
We were taking the first morning ferry, & the breakfast was not ready when we went to the dining room. It was only being laid out, so we had a very rushed quick bite to eat before leaving. An unnecessary stress to start the day. I'm sorry to have to say that the breakfast itself is very outdated -only cheap cereal/yogurts , one bowl of sad looking fruit - if you don't like a fry. Sliced pan bread only. Very poor selection and poor presentation.
Inishbofin is a magical place and this hotel benefits from the location
Leak in the ceiling, no apologies or follow up
Hotel was extremely understaffed. Huge crack in sink Toilet roll not replenished Cleared dinner dishes from a table we chose to sit at as not enough staff On arrival had to clean the table myself and get my own scones as the staff member forgot our order. Rain waited dripped on pur heads as we sat and had a drink at reception. Reception left unattended Counted 10 tables full of dirty dishes throughout out entire time having breakfast Breakfast was not warm and food was not replenished. Hotel room was not served on day 2
Room was lovely
Hotel lacked atmosphere because residents eating elsewhere . No promotion of food and bar , seems that there has been challenges with securing chef, food on offer was fast and not appealing. so we really only got a BnB experience, not a hotel experience
The views
Needs updating. Nothing like the photos on booking.com
The location is really lovely! As were the staff
Location excellent
Breakfast is not very efficient. More tables of parties of 4 and 6 would be very beneficial. Some individual staff needs to be trained in the hospitality sector and how to deal with customers in a more professional manner and not to shout so everyone in the Breakfast room will hear.
The view of the harbour from our room was beautiful, and a great welcome. We had dinner in the hotel on the evening we arrived, and it was really lovely, my two boys asked to go again the next day, but I wanted to explore the island a bit more!
The room became very stuffy and hot during the night, and we were unable to open the window, it was locked. The only way to breathe was to open the door to the balcony, but there was a storm blowing outside and so we needed to wedge the door to stop it from banging. It was very disruptive to a night's sleep. At breakfast, there was a shortage of food served in the last 30 min (between 9:30 and 10).
Breakfast was fabulous at the Inishbofin House Hotel
Nothing except the receptionist was nice and friendly
Room was so small and the bed was horrendous
Staff were friendly
Breakfast was cold
Friendly reception girl and Location
Cold breakfast
