Good fish and chips, supper, and excellent poached eggs on toast for breakfast. This was after a very long day of travel, and I was very glad to be here.
It has the most beautiful views The rooms are comfortable The food delicious Friendly staff We will definitely refer this accomodation to our South African friends
Other than a lick of paint, there is truly nothing I would change
Beautiful location
Staff, location and nice food
Could have residual noise from bar downstairs if you have a room above. Didn't impact me greatly but if a light sleeper it might.
Overlooking the ocean
None
Matthew on reception was.brilliant. I was quite late arriving and he was very understanding
Great location for the ferry, brilliant staff who were very helpful. Room was very spacious, bed was comfortable , shower was perfect and the food in the restaurant was really good. Ample parking.
Na
The staff were friendly and very helpful. Loved the location. Their gardens are gorgeous! Had a fabulous dinner.
The beds were not the greatest, but we booked a double twin room. I understand they are going through some renovations due to recently
Great location for working at the port. Great area and views around the hotel. Clean rooms. Helpful friendly staff.
WiFi not very good, more of an issue because we had to send data for work purposes and it took a long time for it to send. Busier of an evening than expected with themed entertainment nights.
Had a spacious and clean bedroom with a view of the harbour. A sofa to sit on and watch tv (if we wanted to). Very comfortable bed.
To be fair it has recently been taken over and they are in the process of settling in and gradually upgrading the Hotel.
Location to ferry port
Room very small.breakfast over priced.
easy parking and quiet. Comfortable pillows. Decent WIFI
Food was poor, had evening meal and breakfast, breakfast far too expensive. Bathroom bin had used ladies products in it, I understand mistakes happen but thats a big one. place is tatty, paint on room doors peeling, junk stored outside the hotel bedrooms. It feels badly run. I stay in hotels every week and I cant see myself returning here.
Location
Quaint and convenient
Beds a Little soft and creaky
Room were lovely and clean, could do with decluttering the reception area, price was very good
Funny smell in the hotel
The family room was one room rather than 1 Large car park The staff were very kind to our dog
It was a bit isolated The decor was very dated The menu was limited
Had issue on arrival with shower door, told staff and it was immediately repaired. Room spacious, stunning views, Breakfast was very nice and plenty of it although unusual for price of breakfast not to include tea or coffee which was extra. Evening meals very nice, option of either chips or rosemary roasties with each meal but only salad to accompany with no option of other vegetables.
Birthday present glass with Grandad written on was removed from the room by cleaners thinking it was one of theirs !!! Luckily it was retrieved safely and undamaged.
Great quiz (we won!) Good location for ferry. Very friendly staff.
eten was goed
kleine kamer, klein bed,
Great food, Friendly staff, very clean room and bathroom. good location for ferry. We joined the quiz night with locals which was great fun. Very into recycle waste which we respect and welcome. Hood welcome email.
Nothing really
The food made my partner ill the prawn sandwich
Friendliness of staff and good meals
Twin beds were very creaky
Friendly staff, clean room. Good beer and good breakfast
Friendly staff
Haphazard check in and hotel layout
Friendly staff and a great location. The room was basic but comfortable and I got a good night's sleep. Dinner and a beer were tasty and there was lots of space to park.
It describes itself as a modern day Fawlty Towers, and they're not wrong. It's totally fine, the decor is a bit bonkers - it kind of has to be seen to be believed. Our room was fine, with a view of the sea, and there's loads of parking. Breakfast was good. The location is ideal - there is a decent choice of places to eat within walking distance and some really fantastic walks nearby.
It feels a little disorganised and it could really do with a lick of paint and some updated decor, but that's not a reason not to book. In fact, it's so random, it's worth booking!
Staff friendly , room clean, food very good, only a short walk to town centre.
It was near the harbour and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The meals were very nice too
All the tables in the dining room were sticky . They needed a good scrub. Occasionally our room smelt of damp dog. The property needs an uplift. It is tired and worn out. The grounds are overgrown with weeds, loose pavers and needs attention of gardeners to spruce up the property. It would look so much better.
It was very close to the ferry. Plenty of parking. We had JUST missed quiz night at the bar 😄
It was SO close.to the ferry, you could hear it with the window open 😅
Comfortable room with all amenities needed.
Breakfast was expensive for what you got. Waited ages for our food.
Great staff Nice location
Stayed one night and the dinner was excellent, the staff very helpful, friendly and welcoming, also very dog friendly and good walks.
Outside looked a bit run down, although it was tidy, also the reception area and another visible area was stacked with furniture and boxes. The bedroom was very nice and they have obviously tried to focus there but public areas a bit tired. But I have to say the staff made up for it and it did not spoil our stay but it may be something they wish to consider.
Easy to get to from ferry. Pleasant staff, lovely touch to give a water bowl, treats and poo bags for the dog. Lovely bathroom, very clean, fab lighting.
Bed was comfy but very squeaky!
The location is perfect for walking around the coastal path and hiking. The conservatory is lovely during the day, with exquisite lighting, a breeze, and a view of the gardens and the wave break. The vegetable lasagna is quite good and the staff are friendly and helpful. The best time to sleep here is 10am to 5pm. This is where locals come to drink and have events.
The noise level was painful. I asked for a quiet room and was put in a room directly above the bar, where painfully loud music was playing until 11:30, drunk people were yelling and clamoring around in the hallways and neighboring rooms until 1pm. The walls and floor are paper thin, so sound travels and I did not get the sleep I needed.
The food
Nothing its a great place!
The location was amazing, as were the staff and the service. Food was really good as well.
The shower facilities, water pressure, heat could be improved.
Great location - handy for walks, handy for the ferry.
A few times it was difficult to get a staff member for service. I understand that’s complex so it wasn’t a huge issue.
location, sea view
No hot water in shower. very squeeky headboard.
Lovely and cosy!
Was great
Brilliant location, lovely family style environment, great staff, wonderful food, just perfect.
I enjoyed everything about the property!
A great welcome from a friendly team. A large, very clean room with a lovely refurbished bathroom. Excellent food, very well presented, good portions. Easy, free on-site parking. A great stay, and we would happily return.
It is a 2-star hotel that the owners are updating. They are upfront about this, and it is a fair price for a decent, very spacious room. There really isn't anything to grumble about.
Dobbra lokalizacja , ciche spokojne miejsce.
Friendly service
Arrivée très tard possible et proche du Ferry
Lit 2 personne à un matelas pas correct (chambre17)
The food was all home made and to a high standard. We had home made burgers and loved them. The room was comfortable with a nice view of the marina. Good choice of breakfast in pleasant conservatory setting.
Nothing we didn't like
Location Gentleman that checked us in Room clean
Tea tray poor looked like it was thrown together Big man mugs A lot of upgrading required Outside not appealing Lady that served breakfast looked like she had slept in her clothes
Bardzo dobra lokalizacja hotelu, bardzo czysto, miły personel, bardzo pomocny, domowa atmosfera , restauracja serwuje dobre jedzenie w przystępnych cenach
Nice location, nice staff, lovely food and fantastic breakfast.
All good with me
I loved the location and the food and the staff, very comfortable stay before catching a ferry
The hotel is a bit old and worn, the walls between rooms are quite thin and the telly in my room didn't work
Great accommodation for the night, rooms were snug but clean. However, late night tv sounds travelled through the thin walls from the room next door and disturbed our sleep. The restaurant food was really nice, with a generous helping of scrambled eggs on toast in the morning.
Breakfast was good
The toilet flush broke on our second day
Location was fab a few minutes from the ferry terminal stayed with our cocker spaniel room was nice and spacious Plenty of water bowls left out for dogs in various places and they were allowed in the bar and restaurant Singer in the bar when we arrived for a while - good atmosphere Food was excellent and cooked fresh
Location was excellent — just a 30 minute walk from the ferry terminal. Gorgeous gardens!
Minor details — not enough electrical outlets and the tv is Very Small.
Nice but needed up in places i think they just took over the running of the place so in time
Was fine
The location was great. Best scallops Iver ever had
Nothing
De ligging en het prachtige gebouw zelf. We hebben er ook lekker gegeten in de avond.
Alles was prima.
Very friendly staff and accomodating
Dogs in the bar.
Clean and comfortable. Having a room that you could see the sunrise was a bonus. Lots of entertainment advertised during the week. Popular with locals and visitors.
Not much around it, maybe that’s the appeal for some people. Can walk along the harbour but a trek into Hollyhead itself. Be careful of taps in bathrooms, well, the room I had, keep a sense of humour 😬 Nice plentiful Welsh breakfast.
My stay at the Boat house was great. Staff was so accommodating as I needed an early check in due to having to get to a wedding. While I waited I had a drink from the bar that was a good price. The following morning I had breakfast before my early train and it was so tasty and great value for money, really big portions.
Nothing I didnt like apart from not having longr to explore the area.
Everything is always wonderful at the Boathouse. My partner and I have stayed there a number of times. The rooms are beautiful and really beautifully decorated, the location and views are gorgeous, the staff are really lovely and the food is exceptional. They have a new menu and it's even better than it was before. This is literally my favourite hotel in all the UK.
Nothing. Everything was perfect.
It was in right place to catch an early Ferry to Ireland. Friendly accommodating staff, able to eat dinner there and get an quite nights sleep before early start next day.
nothing.
Food was poor and overpriced, actually cheaper on the ferry and a better standard, bingo night on so could not a conversation in fear of those involved in bingo hearing you talk
Great location for the town and the ferry, with a nice evening stroll along the sea front. Comfortable room and bed with lots of tea/coffee. Friendly staff and excellent food in the restaurant. Quiet in the evening and easy to sleep.
Perfect location in order to catch an early morning ferry the following day. Friendly greeting upon arrival plus treats and a ball for the dog. Room was spotless clean, bed comfortable, great powerful shower. Ate in the restaurant - food was amazing. Nicki looked after us throughout our dining time, nothing was too much trouble for her. She was friendly and polite. Perfect stay.
Near the harbour. Nice views.
Clean room, good location for what we wanted to do
Very uncomfortable bed, very noisy hotel - we were woken up at 6:30 by the creaking floor boards of the room above. Walls paper thin so you can hear other guests, massively over-priced
Stayed one night in order to get early ferry next morning. Friendly greeting on arrival. Room was spotless clean, bed very comfortable. Great location. Ate in their restaurant, food lovely.
Die Lage, das Frühstück und die Parkmöglichkeit
Staff Food
Beer was poorly kept
La vue sur le port.
Certains plats proposés au restaurant ne tiennent pas la route et sont trop chers pour la qualité.
This is my second stay here and I recommend the hotel for its peaceful location and casual friendliness.
I believe the proprietors recently acquired the property, so improvements may be in the works. I found the electric lighting in my room to fall short of what I would have liked, for instance for reading in bed. Also, though the room had limited space, a chair and desk for computer work would have been handy.
Très bon rapport qualité-prix pour le logement
Le Petit-déjeuner non inclus est une arnaque
The staff were super friendly and I can’t fault them at all.
The beds were incredibly squeaky. And the walls between rooms must be paper thin as I could hear the between upstairs and and the rooms next door talking like they were right in my room. There were no privacy films on the windows and my bedroom looked straight out onto the pub garden. Which meant I had to have the curtains closed at all times which made the room feel real extra small. Paying an extra £15 ontop of what I’d already paid to have my dog was a little excessive too. The room was quite tight for 2 single beds and I’ve got two pretty bad bruises on my leg from hitting my leg on the bed frame trying to walk between the bed frame and dresser. The staff were lovely and the property was clean. It was an ideal location for me getting the ferry in the morning but I was disappointed by the noise. My neighbours weren’t being loud, they were just behaving normally in their rooms. I think the hotel should provide ear plugs to improve the experience for people hoping to get a good night sleep before and after a day of travelling.
Didn’t eat or drink here so can’t comment on food, rooms quirky but clean. Ok. Probably a little over priced for a room only on Saturday night. Could hear people above but had a sea view and didn’t really get disturbed. A little way out from town and no shops around really but some nice walking areas. I think for the money I could have got a better b&b. The hotel has a fawlty hours feel and they acknowledge this in their bedroom info and there’s a fawlty towers book in reception
The hotel is work in progress so got to take this into account
Simple basic rooms but clean and comfortable with good on site parking, Bar and Resteraunt Good location for ferry port
Convenient with a beautiful view
Location
The view from my room, the food at dinner and breakfast
Nothing
Perfect location for ferry with nearby shops!!
Bigger tvs
Right where we needed to be for the early morning ferry, the views were amazing, everything was close by but not next door.
Nothing
Clem, good serene environment by the sea. Comfort. Quiet for sleep.
Nothing found.
Staff were really friendly and helpful
Dated with poor WiFi
The hotel is located next to the harbour, with great views. We walked the coastal path in the late afternoon along the beautiful cliffs of Holyhead Mountain, with many signs of ancient civilisation. The restaurant in the hotel serves good food, and had also a reasonable choice of vegetarion options. There is ample parking space, and places to sit outside and enjoy the evening sun.
Given the fact that many of the visitors might be staying to take the ferry to Ireland next day, it would be recommended to offer some sort of breakfast earlier in the morning. Another point to consider is that the furniture in the room (especially the beds) is not very sturdy.
Location
Wifi Decoración Era poor rooms shabby .but new management taking over and I am sure they will improve as fantastic location for ferry
Property very clean which is the most important thing.
Location over marina…should be a gold mine.
Beyond quirky. Recognise that a change of management has occurred however to realistically become the potential it has, then significant training and investment is required.
Friendly staff
A little dated
Location, bed v comfortable.
Upstairs can hear walking
