It was very central in the old town and to the beach. Really lovely staff and anything requested was completed promptly.

Très belle chambre, la vue est incroyable. Le personnel est très impliqué dans notre épanouissement durant le séjour. Piscine au top ainsi que le petit déjeuner avec beaucoup de chaud.

Petit point négatif l’hôtel est situé au cœur des rues qui sont très bruyantes (jusqu’au tard la nuit), mais les portes sont bien insonorisées donc le bruit est reduit.

Only 3 clothes hangers, and when we asked for more , we were told there wasn’t any. Which wasn’t a major problem.

Stefi is so fabulous, such a fantastic host. She made our stay so comfortable and easy. The room was beautiful, the pool was perfect and the hotel was close to bars and restaurants. It was ideal!

Stefi nous a reçu avec beaucoup de gentillesse. Nous avons été accueilli avec un café sur la terrasse malgré un retard d arrivée. Elle a été de très bons conseils pour notre séjour. L’emplacement est juste parfait à côté de tout. Place central resto bar boutique et tout près de la plage en même. Cour arrière avec piscine tranquille et paisible. Assez de chaise longue pour tout le monde. L’endroit est propre et bien entretenu.

Lovely pool, good breakfast, close to the centre of town and the beach and we had a great room with lovely view of the old town. Steph, the host was delightful and super helpful.

It’s a guest house rather than hotel - no bar or restaurant.

The location was excellent for getting around. Very close to the beach and overlooking the square in the old town. My room was overlooking the pool and had everything I needed. Loved the complimentary little bottle of wine and treats left in the fridge for me which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was more than adequate. Loved it so much I’m going again in August if a few days.

There wasn’t anything not to like. If I wanted to be picky, there was a bit of noise from local bars but the World Cup was on and who could blame them. Just people enjoying themselves.

Nice quiet place, perfect location. Once doors were closed you couldn’t really hear noise from the square anymore. Lovely relaxed atmosphere there. Felt very safe also.

Our door knob was very tricky to work, it’s an old building so an old door.

It was clean, lovely staff and in a great location to the centre of old town. It also had a nice pool area.

The location is perfect, just 1 minute from the square. The staff were excellent. Especially Steffi who looked after us when we got there. The room was huge and everything was spot on.

Great location and superb staff, Stefi was a great host. Rooms were clean and the pool area was like having a private villa in the sun. Breakfast was a good choice too.

Shower in the room was a little on the small side but that didn’t spoil the stay.

Very homely, very friendly and personal service from staff. Really good breakfast with lots of variety. Stefi was really helpful and made us feel very at home. She dealt with a couple of minor issues really promptly and efficiently with no fuss. Highly recommend staying here. Well placed for easy access to the beach, restaurants and shops.

Being within the city centre, it was rather noisy in the evenings if you sat outside, but with the door shut and the Air conditioning running, it could not be heard at all when going to sleep.

Además de que el hotel tiene un aroma muy rico, no se si vendrá de la cocina de esos postres que hacen. Stefi un amor, muy resolutiva y dedicada cuando la necesité. Le doy un 10/10 por que no se puede dar más.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the hotel was in a great location. The spa facilities were excellent and added a luxurious touch to our stay. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience.

La atención del personal: muy atentas y hospitalarias. Llegué muy temprano a Albufeira, y si bien tenía que esperar a que esté disponible la habitación, me recibieron con café. Después de eso hicieron todo lo posible para poder entregarme la habitación en forma anticipada. También me gustó la limpieza de la habitación. El baño cómodo. Y la cercanía a la playa y a los bares y restaurantes.

Me gustó todo. Así que no se qué escribir aquí. Tal vez cambiaría el sistema de llaves por tarjetas. Pero aún así, las llaves no son un problema.

The location of the hotel was excellent. Right in the midsole of the old town and a stones throw from the beach.

The rooms are very simple and a little dated but the staff and location made up for it.

Traditional style building and decor. Everything you need a few minutes away. The host is very welcoming and helpful. You can hear the noise from the town but the shutters help dim it out. Appreciated the daily drinking water.

L'hôtel est accueillant, l'équipe est vraiment au petit soin. L'emplacement est vraiment top proche de la plage et du centre-ville. Pour faire la fête à pas d'heure et retrouver son hôtel c'c'est parfait.

L'insonorisation. Mais cela n'est pas évident avec une ville festive qui n'a pas de norme concernant les décibels. Pour les vitres des chambres sont très épaisses mais cela ne suffit pas.

Very central location over looking the Old Town. Lots of restaurants and bars within five minute walk. Beach 10min walk away. Ideal location if you don’t want to use taxis etc. staff were lovely, they arranged for a birthday cake for my wife and some flowers with a few beers. They left us alone but were around and easy to contact if we needed anything.

Bathroom was a little dated and well used-could do with an upgrade. Lovely room though with a balcony and great view, but over shadowed by the noise from the old town bars every night. Even with earplugs in the music from the bars and clubs went on till 4am most evenings. Ideal if you’re on a party weekend/hen do etc.

We have visited this venue many times over the last few years, it’s a favorite of ours and the new management especially Stefi made us feel most welcome.

A few of the extras like the beach bag were no longer there which was originally a nice touch.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ethos Bertolina as the first on our road trip around Portugal. Stefi and her team were brilliant, very attentive and happy to help with anything. Stefi was available on WhatsApp from the moment we booked and helped prompt with certain activities we could book such as the spa experience. We had breakfast and the spa included, both well worth it and highly recommend. The Spa experience was at a sister hotel opposite and consisted of a 50 degree sauna and 47 degree steam room that were booked for us for an hour so it felt very exclussive and private. There are also spa treatments available to book which Stefi was more than happy to assist with, I just provided a preferred time and she did the rest! Cristina was my masseuse and she was brilliant, even brought the spa experience to my hotel room with the help of Stefi. The location of the property is right in the middle of things, overlooking the main square,making it easy to get around and find restaurants etc. The room was spacious and very comfortable.

The only note I'll make is with the location being above the main square there is noise from the bars below into the early hours. This wasnt a problem for us as we are deep sleepers and the rooms are pretty well noise insulated with the balcony doors close but if you are a very light sleeper you might ask for a room facing the other side.

Quiero destacar a Stefi, que nos atendió de manera increíble con su calidez y nos recomendó sitios para visitar en la zona, lo que hizo nuestra estancia muy agradable.El desayuno fue delicioso. La atención al detalle y el trato tan amable marcaron realmente la diferencia.Es un lugar que recomiendo sin duda.Para mi es el número uno.

I loved the providing of beach towels and beach bag that was a real nice luxury benefit.

I thought the cleaners could have been better. The cleaners come most days except for Sunday which is good but met the cleaner in the hallway and she asked whether it needed cleaning (as was a Monday it had not been cleaned the day before) I said yes and she huffed about it. Also you are extremely close to the strip which we thought was ideal as visited but you can hear the music very very clearly in the room until about 5am and this was a bit loud so some more sound proof windows could be good.

Assez bruyant du fait de la proximité avec le centre ville où il y a la fête toute la nuit, mais après la première nuit, on s’habitue ! Des boules quies sont mises à disposition pour les plus sensibles.

Our stay was brilliant. The guest house is like booking a Villa. There are great facilities and a variety of board games which we enjoyed on the first night. The service was excellent as we were asked via WhatsApp on a few occasions how our stay was. There are towels provided for the pool also and some water on arrival. My brother was given a bottle of wine and a card also for his birthday which was a lovely touch. The only issue we had was the noise at night but we were provided with ear plugs. If you’re there to party at night you will have no problem with this. It is excellent value for money and great location.

Fijne locatie met oké faciliteiten. De kamers zijn niet geïsoleerd en het geluid van het feestgedruis domineert de nacht. De host was vriendelijk, het ontbijt was sober maar oké.

Amazing location and lovely pool. Treated me to a bottle of wine for my birthday and changed our sheets each day. The beach bag with pool/beach towels was a really great touch. Pool to ourselves and convenient for walk around the town and the tunnel to the beach. Highly recommended.

The town is very party orientated and people are still sing karaoke at 2am not far from the guest house. There are ear plugs provided.

Property was very central. We really enjoyed our stay. But because its so central, it was noisey at night. You are provided with ear plugs. It didnt really effect our stay but if your a light sleeper and not planniing on being out till 4am, you mighthave a problem. Everything else was perfect!

Very well located, if you are driving mind you’ll have to park a few blocks away, which was not a problem for us. Cozy room, comfortable, a classic Portuguese chic hotel.

It’s right in the heart of albufeira so we could listen all the noise from the nightclubs, it was extremely loud. There are earplugs in the room to help with this though.

I loved the location but noise can be heard late into the night as it is overlooking the main square. Nothing they can do about it but just got people wanting a quiet location perhaps stay slightly further away. But I absolutely loved the Bertolina and I will definitely return

If you are looking for a good night's sleep, look elsewhere. I made the mistake of not being familiar with the area and not reading the previous reviews concerning the noise issue prior to booking. This accommodation is for party goers who need a place close to the main street where they can get sloshed and come back to pass out. The completely overwhelming booming of club music continues throughout the night and deep into the morning hours. Your only barrier is a pair of foam earplugs they provide that is woefully inadequate for the level of noise you are continuously assaulted by.

During the booking process, before the booking is finalized, the noise level should be disclosed clearly and without minimization.

The property is in a beautifully central location. It was a short 5 minute walk to the beach, and the same in to Old Town. It was a close distance to the bars and restaurants - but not overly loud. You could hear the music on the evening from our room but it wasn’t disturbing at all, very quiet in the background. The house also provides earplugs which were a great addition! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, they let us drop our cases off early before check in time and notified us when the room was ready. We also got to use the facilities before and after check out, and they stored our bags for us pending our late night flight. They honestly couldn’t have been more helpful. We had a lovely stay and would definitely stay again if we returned. Our room was 201, so on the ground floor as you enter the house - at the rear therefore a bit quieter than rooms at the front (I assume). Really lovely spot. They also provide beach/pool towels with a beautiful beach basket for use too which is great, so you don’t have to take your own. The staff kept us updated via WhatsApp and replied promptly when we had any questions.
