Apartments Ypres

The apartment is ideally located a couple of minutes from Ypre's main square, perfect for all amenities. Katie and Philippe have thought of everything when furnishing the accommodation. The apartment is comfortable, clean and stylishly decorated. We met Katie in passing and mentioned that the toaster wasn't working. Within 10 minutes it was replaced. We made use of the garage which is located just across the road behind a secure gate. This is our 3rd stay in the Belfort apartment and it never disappoints.

The apartment has been beautifully renovated. It is modern, and comfortable whilst retaining some of the original character. The location is excellent, right in the center of Ypres and close to everything. The apartment has all the facilities needed to be self sufficient for cooking etc. I would highly recommend this and definitely stay again.

It wasn't a problem for us but there are 2 flights of stairs to get to the apartment, so an elderly person may find access restrictive.

Great location, clean and comfortable property suitable for 2. Kitchenette was very handy for our longer stay. Small enclosed courtyard was handy for drying washing and sitting. Ground floor so we didn’t have to climb steps to higher apartments. Katie and Phillipe met us at the train station which was greatly appreciated after a long day of travel

Only a small cupboard for hanging clothes so had to live out of our bags. No ice making facility so had to buy it from nearby night market. No air conditioning so stuffy at times. Microwave wasn’t working.

The location of this apartment could not have been better—it is incredibly central and perfectly situated for exploring the local Battlefield sites. Katie and Philippe provided absolutely everything we could have needed for our stay. Philippe gave us a warm welcome, showed us around the place, and gave us some fantastic recommendations for local places to eat and drink. After long days of sightseeing, the super comfy beds were exactly what we needed. It’s a wonderful, relaxing place to unwind and get a great night's sleep. We highly recommend staying here!

We have absolutely nothing bad to say about our stay whatsoever, apart from wishing it could have been longer! Highly recommend.

The shower was great. The location was great. Katie came over to explain things to me, she was lovely.

Do the weather was very warm but the inside of the apartment was nice.

Het appartement bevindt zich op een prachtige locatie midden in het centrum in een van de mooie monumentale panden. Het is sfeervol en comfortabel. De host is erg vriendelijk en geeft goede tips voor het verblijf.

Great location right in the centre. Katie gave us great advice when we arrived on things to do and other important information.

You have to be careful where you park but at the end of the street we found a space each time. Katie was helpful in advising on where to park.

Ik was voor een lang weekend met mijn volwassen zoon. We werden ontvangen door de enthousiaste gastvrouw. Zij heeft goede tips voor bezienswaardigheden en restaurants. Comfortabel, hygiëne en op loopafstand van de Markt. Privé parkeergarage om de hoek van het appartement.

1 klein aandachtspuntje. Vervang de hoofdborden. Die zien er wat sleets uit

Leuk, schoon en mooi appartement in een leuk torentje. Midden in het centrum dichtbij alle bezienswaardigheden. Uitgebreide uitleg en tips gekregen van de eigenaar over wat er te doen is en waar lekker te eten. Een aanrader, we komen hier zeker een keer terug!

The apartment was spacious, plesantly furnished and exceptionally clean. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Ypres.

The narrow wooden stairs were great for us, but should be considered for anyone with limited mobility.

Excel·lent ubicació a la població d'Ypres/Ieper, a 50 metres de la plaça Major (Grote Markt). Apartament encantador i ben equipat, no li falta res. Molt bon tracte de l'amfitriona. La zona ha sigut tot un descobriment.

We found The Bells apartment clean and roomy with everything we needed. Despite being a stone's throw to the centre of Ypres it was relatively quiet, even outdoors on the patio.. The possibility of parking the car in a nearby garage (2 minutes walk) was an extra bonus. The bed was comfortable, the shower was big, the kitchen was fully equipped - loved everything about it.

It would have been good to have a choice of pillow. Pillows provided were good, but very puffy. My personal preference is for a slightly flatter pillow

Fantastic location near main square of Ypres, we used the secure parking which was an excellent feature. Apartment had everything we needed, kettle, kitchen, air conditioner and very secure. Katie was a great host and gave some good suggestions for places to eat when handing over the keys.

It was high summer when we visited so the flat was a bit hot at night, plenty of windows to open but the air con couldn’t quite keep up. There are a lot of stairs to the flat, so an elderly guest or someone with a lot of luggage would struggle.

I absolutely adored this unique, pristine, central, apartment - so close to shops, market, restaurants, etc. The view down on street was also lovely for a bit of people-watching (and to check on the weather!). The apartment is light and airey and comfortable. A really smart but relaxed vibe and our hostess was incredibly kind, helpful, and thoughtful. She is definitely one of the reasons we will return if we can! Only a short walk to enjoy the town centre and everything Ypres / Ieper has to offer; I have been visiting for a couple of decades now and this is the place I will book whenever I return in the future. The shower is unassuming to look at but very good at the end of a long walking day! ;) Importantly, while I travelled with my partner this time, I often visit Ypres / Ieper as a solo female and walking by myself to / from this flat in the evenings and early mornings to grab fresh bakery goods or to get some milk, felt safe.

We were guided with really challenging instructions to get into a parking spot. Owner was at the spot and gave instructions verbally which we followed and this caused damage to the car. Then we were told it was our own responsibility. In addition, we were told by neighbors that where we were told to park is not the owner's property. So, it was a very confusing situation. I also did not like that I was forced to go to a cash point to retrieve money to pay in cash for the 3 nights. My preference was paying by card as I am not an european resident and it cost me a lot of money to retrieve cash. So, there is no flexibility which was very disappointing (especially after also having damage to the car that I borrowed from my parents). We were also traveling with a baby and 2.5 year old and they needed to wait for a long time while I was getting cash to stay (and it was already later in the evening).

The apartment was a lovely base camp for adventures in the West Flanders province of Belgium. The apartment is one street back from the Market Square so you get all the culture with a fraction of the noise. The Menin Gate, Cloth Hall with Belfry and Ramparts were in short walking distance. The bed was comfortable and the apartment was surprising large with a well equipped kitchen, washing machine and large windows overlooking the street. Katie was very communicative and greeted us on arrival to tour the premises with us. Would highly recommend this apartment and would stay here again.

Katie was a responsive host and the apartment was incredibly comfortable. The bedrooms were quiet, the beds very welcome after a day touring the battlefields, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The location was exceptional for seeing Ypres.

We thoroughly enjoyed our entire experience in Ypres, and the lovely apartment was a significant part of our enjoyment. The owner, Katie, came by on our first morning, and gave us a complete run down on things to do in Ypres. The best part of her narrative was that she tailored her suggestions to our plans. I was there to participate as a musician at the "Last Post" ceremony at the Menin Gate, and we had spent the previous several days traveling through France paying our respects at various battlefields and cemeteries. Katie strongly suggested we visit Tyne Cot British Cemetery, which was a moving experience, for which we are most grateful.

We have only good things to say about our entire experience in Ypres. Our one regret is that we were only there for three days. Not a complaint, but be prepared for the stairs. This is an historic building, and the stairs, though well-lit and in excellent shape, are fairly steep and somewhat narrow, which is to be expected, really. The apartment, location, appointments, and comfort, are definitely worth the "adventurous" stairs!

To be honest it was more than i expected, Katie is very polite and knowledgeable about the area, where guiding us to visit rather than me and my wife just rambling about, so yes i definitely recommend and would use again.

The stairs as we were on the second level. I was asked to pay in cash once I had arrived. I wasn’t expecting this and was unprepared. There was an ATM opposite but unable to access that much money on two of my cards and had to resort to withdrawing cash fromI my credit card.

A cosy, comfortable amd very well looked after apartment. It was right next to the town square and 5 minute walk from the Menin Gate. Great Facilties and very clean.

This is the second time we have rented this apartment. The apartment is large, well equipped and just one block from the city center. I highly recommend this apartment if you are visiting Ieper.

The apartment is the perfect place to stay in Ypres. It has everything you need. Beds are comfy, kitchen well equipped and is very nicely decorated. The location is right on the doorstep of Ypres centre. Ypres itself is beautiful with so much to do, we loved it.

Had everything there in the apartment that you would need. Very close to everything of interest.

It is well located in central Ypres. It is also very well appointed with air-con which was a pleasant surprise as the stay was warm. It had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. This was a wonderful base to explore Ypres and Flanders Fields.

Being picky the apartment is up 2 steep flights of stairs so bear in mind when thinking about luggage.

Amazing place. Great location to spent a few days in Ypres. The apartment was very clean, well equipped for our family to relax, cook and play. Very welcoming host who showed us around the rooms and gave good recommendations of places to visit, where to park and things special to Ypres to experience. The lady who cleans was also very pleasant. Thank you for this amazing experience.

The only thing I can think of is that the DVD player wasn’t working.

Katie was a great host. Responsive, friendly and professional. The local tips, maps and information were greatly appreciated and a nice touch. It is clear she takes pride in hosting due to the attention to all the finer details. Exceptionally clean, fabulous location and very comfortable. Had a cot and high chair for our little one. Can’t recommend enough!

A very comfortable apartment in the heart of Ypres. We were cycling and appreciated the secure storage for the bikes. A great base to explore the area, we would definitely use it again.

The lovely host kept in touch by text, met us at the apartment and showed us round. She made everything really easy and welcoming. The apartment is beautiful and the beds really comfortable and in such a good position right off the Grotemarket. The bedroom with the bunk beds is accessed via the main bedroom but with a proper door between the two so just be prepared if you are staying there with someone you don’t normally live in the same home with! Overall excellent accommodation and highly recommended!

Excellent location. Easy walking distance to Menin Gate, ‘In Flanders Field Museum’, market square, Carrefours grocery store and the train station. Katie met us on arrival and was helpful in showing us around the well stocked ‘just like home’ apartment and telling us various things to do in Ypres.

Although washer/dryer is mentioned in the apartment description it is €10 per load to use it. And it is important to note there is no elevator. The Belfort suite is up 2 flights of stairs. Probably not a problem for most people.
