The location and the building is gorgeous. Is the place to be in Wachau with outstanding views over the garden. The food is very good

This is a very expensive hotel therefore you expect high levels of service and they do not deliver; many staff are not polite enough in many areas and do not make you feel welcomed. Just as an example (there are many more this one is only illustrative). The breakfast starts at 7:30, I had an early start due to a bike race and I arrived to the breakfast place at 7:00, one couple (maybe friends) were there eating, drinking coffee, but I was immediately informed it start as 7:30. I am not one to ask for favors I took what was available, no coffee, no eggs, nothing from kitchen, just bread and some juice and that is it. Is not a way for a 5 star hotel at this price point...

אהבנו את הנוף, את החדר הפרטי המפואר, את המסעדה עם שירות מעולה!!!! בחרנו לאכול ארוחות ערב במסעדת מלון. הצוות המלון היה נדיב, ידידותי. רצים לציין במיוחד את בשם Anna Brand, שעזרה לנו מכל הלב בכל בקשה!!! שרות חדרים היה טוב מאד!

המגבות די ישנות. לא היתה ערכת קפה/ תה בחדר, זה הפריע, למרות שמיד נתנו לנו קומקום.

Großartige Lage in Dürnstein mit tollem Blick in die Wachau und auf die Donau!

Schade, dass die wunderschöne Terrasse beim Frühstücken nicht voll zu nutzen ist. Dadurch sitzen Gäste bei Schönwetter drinnen. Das Frühstückspersonal ist extrem bemüht, wird mit dem Andrang zwischen 9:00 und 10:00 nicht fertig, da die Frühstückszeit zu kurz ist!

The hotel was a very pleasant surprise. Beautiful décor, lovely staff, rooms large and very clean. The restaurant — quality and variety of the food at the highest level. The outdoor and indoor pools and the saunas — fantastic!!! The hotel sits high on a cliff on the banks of the Danube. Incredible views!!! That music (Strauss's Blue Danube) as you walk into the hotel courtyard — simply premium and a brilliant touch. It adds charm and a sense of grandeur to the place. The town of Dürnstein is fabulous. Small, full of character, magical :)

Ort, Lage, Restaurant, Terrasse und der Service sind phänomenal!

Die Zimmereinrichtung ist schon ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen, in Teilen auch nicht wirklich praktisch und zeitgemäß für 5 Sterne.

The hotel was clean and inviting , the young lady on reception was helpful & friendly. We were not happy with our room & it was not a problem for her to show us another that was more comfortable with large armchairs .

This is the main reason for my low score , on our second evening we were happy to book in the dining room for a special 3 course meal at 6.30 pm. We were sat at the table of our choice in a beautiful dining room by a lovely lady that lit the candle on our table and gave us the menu , we could see that there were waiters but mainly a older man that was taking the orders on his iPad & obviously in charge. After we sat therefore about 15.mins without him approaching our table for our drink or food Oder my husband got up from his seat to ask him directly could we please order drinks. He was quite abrupt replying that he would come soon as he was busy. He continued to take orders from tables that came in after us and spend considerable time chatting , completely ignoring us . I finally got up from my seat to point out we had been sitting there now for 35 mins without even a drink. I told him he was very rude to treat his customers this way & he informed me he owned the place. I was astounded when in answering me he used the FUCK word to me . I couldn’t believe what I was hearing so asked him how he could use that language to me . My husband then heard and also stood up objecting to his language .. He then got angry & picked up our menus and told us to find another place to eat & walked of , I followed & said we may as well check out of the hotel as well then & he said yes fuck of then . We went to reception to ask to speak to one of the owners as we knew it was a family run hotel , a nice lady came to sit and chat to us about what had just transpired in the restaurant and then told us it was in fact her brother . She tried to smooth things over for us but under the circumstances we left with her help sending us 100 m away to Another relatives hotel and Restaurant .

Hübsche Zimmer, etwas aus der Zeit gefallen. Die Regendusche im Zimmer hat nicht funktioniert, das könnte man für das Geld auch besser machen. Sehr gutes Frühstück, sehr nette Bedienung beim Frühstück

5 Sterne? Ich komme viel herum - 5 Sterne gönnt man sich nur selten. Umso enttäuschender, wenn man dann für so viel Geld das Angebot eines drei Sterne plus Hotels bekommt. Das Zimmer war sehr klein, Möbel sind nicht gut erhalten - alles ein bisschen zusammengewürfelt. Fast erschreckend der Vorraum der Zimmer mit Billiardtisch und WIEGE? Frühstück: Etageren am Tisch serviert- ok, aber ein Angebot wie in den 90ern- schade drum. Aufbackgebäck, wenig Auswahl und viel zu kaltes Müsli. Insgesamt war der Aufenthalt enttäuschend- da braucht man viel Phantasie, um sich wie eine Prinzessin oder ein Prinz zu fühlen ;)

Une seule chose : la vue surplombant le Danube absolument magnifique.

1- La page de réservation sur Booking laisse trompeusement supposer que vous réservez dans un hôtel avec spa, petit-déjeuner et tout le luxe du descriptif. Pas que le château est totalement vide et fermé en hiver, sauf la chambre qu’on met à disposition dans la poterne du château. Ni que vous irez vous même chercher les clés au café à quelque distance dans le village. 2- La chambre très agréable en soi mais les évacuations sont bouchées. Évidemment personne n’effectue l’entretien de la maison. Cela coûte de l’argent… 3- Le prix, 305€ par nuit tout de même, pour ne voir aucun personnel. 4- Le petit déjeuner en option au café du village pour 50€, option que nous n’avons heureusement pas choisie. Vous paierez moins cher en direct. Et, honnêtement, même dans ces conditions, vous serez très déçu. 5- Quand vous saurez que les propriétaires possèdent une bonne partie du village, que vous aurez affaire à de la main d’œuvre en grande partie étrangère et pas trop compétente, vous comprendrez qu’il s’agit d’un money making business. N’espérez pas un accueil chaleureux authentiquement autrichien.

wunderschöner Garten mit atemberaubender Aussicht außergewöhnliche Villa, eigentlich die schönste Villa in der Straße interessante Umgebung, man hat unzählige Möglichkeiten der Urlaubsgestaltung: Sport, Kultur, Geschichte, Kulinarik....

perfekte Lage, wunderbare Suite, Frühstück und Abendessen wurde auf wunsch ins Zimmer gebracht, Sehr höfliches und zuvorkommendes Personal

Sehr gute Lage Zimmer ausreichend

Wir hatten für den 29. November ein Zimmer in Ihrem 5-Sterne Schlosshotel gebucht. Nach der Buchung erfuhren wir, dass der Innenhof aufgrund des Weihnachtsmarktes nicht als Parkplatz zur Verfügung steht. Ich wurde darauf hingewiesen, dass öffentliche Parkplätze in der Nähe vorhanden seien. Nach einem weiteren Telefonat teilte mir eine freundliche Mitarbeiterin mit, sie würde den Chef bezüglich eines privaten Parkplatzes fragen. In diesem Gespräch erfuhr ich auch, dass das Frühstück in der "Schlossgreisslerei" eingenommen werden muss, die einige Schritte entfernt liegt. Bei unserer Ankunft erhielten wir den Schlüssel in der Schlossgreisslerei. An der Eingangstür zum Hauptschloss stand "vorübergehend geschlossen". Das Zimmer selbst war in Ordnung, jedoch war das Badezimmer winzig und für zwei Personen viel zu klein. Restaurant und Haupteingang waren geschlossen. Wir waren im Nebengebäude Tor 1 untergebracht. Soweit, so gut. Am nächsten Morgen gingen wir in die Greisslerei frühstücken. Das Personal war ausgesprochen nett und freundlich. Als wir jedoch gehen wollten, informierte uns die Dame, dass wir noch circa 8 € für die Eierspeisen extra zahlen müssten. Für ein 5-Sterne-Hotel finde ich das nicht angemessen. Das Frühstück im eigentlichen Hotel war nicht möglich, da dort der Weihnachtsmarkt stattfand. Meiner Meinung nach wäre es besser, das Hotel in dieser Zeit gar nicht zu vermieten. Wir waren offensichtlich die einzigen Gäste. Trotzdem ist das Hotel auf Booking.com weiterhin buchbar, obwohl an der Eingangstür "geschlossen" steht.

Ačkoliv je hotel uzavřen, dokáže zajistit i v této době skvělý servis v Schoenthal vile, aniž by bylo nutno nějakého kontaktu. Vynikající organizace snídaně v přilehlém bistru se skvělou obsluhou. Bohatě vybavený minibar, dokonalé vybavení koupelen a fascinující zahrada s dechberoucím výhledem a připravenou saunou. Zařízený interiér, který vyvolává pocit domova. Unikátní stavba, jejíž celou jednu stěnu tvoří do interiéru obnažená skála, což vytváří neopakovatelnou atmosféru.

Nice view of the Danube but no balconies in rooms. Really more of a four star hotel than five. Rooms comfortable but not plush. Breakfast very good in very nice restaurant. Ability to use the terrace in nicer weather would really improve the experience. Nice indoor and outdoor pools. Staff is excellent and accommodating. Internet did not work in our room during entire three day stay, apparently due to a part on order. We were given a 10% discount for the inconvenience.

Sehr gutes Frühstück, vor allem das Omelett. Sehr zentral, alles gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Auch umliegende Sehenswürdigkeiten gut erreichbar. Hervorragende Küche. Waren 1x Mittag- und 2x Abendessen und das mit herrlichem Blick auf die Donau.

Es ist ein sehr gutes Hotel.Lage, die Atmosphere, Zimmer, Aussicht, Essen und das Personel alles ist super.Die Besitzer, wunderschöne Familie kümmert sich um alles.
