Allg Lage, Liegewiese, Pool ganz toll Frühstücksraum sehr schön, Auswahl beim Frühstück fein, freundliches Servicepersonal

Zimmer schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber ok Ich war mit meiner Mutter unterwegs, die nur mit Rollator mobil ist. Ich habe diese Unterkunft aufgrund der wunderschönen Terrasse zur Donau hin ausgesucht/gebucht. Es war eine Hochzeit, daher war die Terrasse gesperrt, das war sehr enttäuschend. Die Mitarbeierin erklärte mir, dass ich eben hätte nachfragen müssen ob keine Veranstaltung stattfindet an diesem Wochenende. Das finde ich mehr als frech!!!

This exquisite hotel was once a medieval church overlooking the picturesque Danube River, so for this medieval history buff, it’s origins and the attention to detail to highlight that history was a beautiful added extra to a comfortable, pristine and luxurious hotel. The staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and ensure my stay was to the highest standard, so having travelled from Victoria, Australia specifically to revisit this gorgeous town after having been here for a few hours while on a river cruise back in 2009, my two night stay was everything I had dreamed it would be.

What a beautiful, rustic, and classical hotel. It was a wonderful stay. The staff were very welcoming (I always appreciate that). The location was perfect. Beds were very comfortable. Parking was easy to access.

Historic atmosphere, excellent breakfast with the house champage, perfect location with Danube view.

Accessing the hotel is a bit tricky and I needed assistance from the front desk to guide me. They were however very nice and helpful.

Breakfast was amazing! Great offering of food and the breakfast dining room was so lovely. The pool and outdoor garden were perfect! Just what we needed for a summer stay with kids.

Fantastische Lage/Frühstück/Pool. Wunderschönes Biedermeiermobiliar, ein Abtauchen in vergangene Zeiten. Wir haben uns gerade während der heißesten Tage sehr wohl gefühlt.

Csodás történet, történelmi falak, fantasztikus antik bútorok, nagy szobák. A hotel éttermének teraszán vacsoráztunk, csodálatosan finomat, nagyszerű környezetben, Dunára néző asztalnál!

-äußerst unprofessionelles personal beim empfang -schöner gastgarten erst ab 12.00 geöffnet, frühstück im Freien daher nicht möglich -Minibar ist leer bzw. mit alter angebrochener Weinflasche bestückt -die an sich schöne Hotelanlage. ist zu sehr in die Jahre gekommen

In traumhafter Lage mit wunderbar gepflegtem Garten und dem nettesten Personal, das man sich vorstellen kann ist das Hotel auf jedem Fall zu empfehlen! Parkplatz vor dem Haus, klimatisierte Zimmer, ein Pool, sehr gutes Essen!

A wonderful hotel in an interesting and beautiful region. Peaceful, but with many things to do, particularly if you like to explore, either by walking, biking or hiking. Enjoy history, good wines, beautiful vineyards and forests, a challenging and scenic sculpture hike. The Richard Lowenherz is a piece of art & history itself. Amazing antiques and artwork, a historic landmark, in the center of a quaint village on the banks of the Danube. Wonderful staff, too.

The historic hotel atmosphere is peaceful and bespoke. We greatly appreciated the excellent service in the restaurant, from the front desk staff, and from the housekeeping. Front desk was accommodating and helpful with the early checkout we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was great. Outside, the garden is lovely; the pool was chilly (even in July) but was clean and attractive. The location of the hotel is central within little Dürnstein. We appreciated the on-site bike rental. Overall, it was a great place to stay for our family.

Wir sind seit Jahren immer in diesem Hotel, wenn wir in der Wachau sind.Die Mitarbeiter sind alle immer sehr bemüht, den Aufenthalt schön zu gestalten. Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen, wunderbare Speisen u grossartige Weine mit wunderbarem Donaublick.Traumhafter Garten mit grossem Pool.

Ein kleines Problem wurde sofort und zu unserer Zufriedenheit gelöst.Danke an die professionellen Mitarbeiter!

Leider könnte man nicht draussen frühstücken. Das würde den Aufenthalt extrem aufwerten. Das Hotel verfügt über einen tollen Klostergarten und eine schöne Terrasse. Schade das das nicht mehr möglich ist.

L`Hotel situat en una antiga abadia és molt bonic i agradable. L´habitació era molt gran i els llits molt còmodes. L´aire acondicionat ens va anar molt bé perque passavem una onada de calor important. Un gran punt és la piscina que ens va ajudar molt a relaxar-nos i refrescar-nos en un dia de molta calor. L´esmorzar excel.lent. Si tornem per la zona m´agradaria repetir.

Noisy air conditioning, lack of decent curtains to allow you to sleep beyond 5am. The biggest insult was that the terrace and restaurant was not open for 2 or the 3 night stay. Extremely poor information given on booking.con.

Our stay the weekend of the Summer Solstice at the Richard Löwenherz in Dürnstein was truly memorable. The hotel is ideally situated in the middle of town convenient to get to our ship for an evening on the river and the spectacular bonfires and fireworks. Our room was large and comfortable and overlooked the hotel‘s park in the back - very relaxing after an eventful day. Breakfast buffet was bountiful and very good. The staff is excellent.

Die Lage, der wunderschöne Garten, der tolle Pool und eine gut einstellbare Klimaanlage. Das Restaurant oberhalb der Donau und die zuvorkommende und freundliche Dame im Service, gebürtig aus Norddeutschland.

Die Betten waren etwas durchgelegen.

The hotels character/ambience was very nice. Sitting in the historic area right on the the river. Wonderful garden and swimming pool! Breakfast with some of the best I’ve ever had at a hotel in Europe!

The rooms were pretty small and very dated

Der Ort, die Stadt, die Aussicht, die Atmosphäre, die Lage. Das Interieur, die Stimmung. Man merkt, dass die Familie, der dieses Haus gehört, es liebt. Fantastisches Frühstück, herrlicher Park. Es gibt Parkplätze, was mich allerdings überrascht hat.

Eine Reinigungskraft wollte heute Morgen nach uns sehen, aber das war unsere Schuld, weil wir keine Nachricht angebracht hatten. Mir gefiel die Badezimmertür gegenüber dem Bett nicht. Die Matratzen waren unbequem (ich hatte heute Morgen Rückenschmerzen). Höchstwahrscheinlich lief die Pumpe der Klimaanlage, pumpte Wasser ab und machte dabei Geräusche. Da es ein sehr heißer Tag war (42 °C), war es ohne Klimaanlage (Zimmer 14) leider sehr unangenehm.

Spacious room in a beautiful old hotel (converted monastery). The view of the Danube from our window was fantastic. The staff were very helpful with terrific local dinner recommendations ( the Hotel’s own restaurant was closed). The hotel has a fantastic secluded swimming pool and garden in the grounds. The A/C was great and very welcome, as this was one of the hottest days of June 2026.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Pool und der Garten waren einfach traumhaft. Hervorragendes Frühstück. Das gesamte historische Ambiente hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

We actually anonymously tested the hotel for GoLeonessa - Women-Trusted Hotels in Austria for our communities of several hundreds of thousands of female travelers. We really liked how secure, quiet and conveniently located it was for women. Great bonus for women is the hotel-owned parking!

Transportation to and from the hotel like taxi or transportation service. There was only a bus, that actually did not show up on time, but since everything is really close we took the half an hour of walk.

Property was perfectly located and had historical value which was felt every second. The view and architecture is amazing. Although booking did not give the exact details of the room the staff was extremely helpful and understanding. They have upgraded our room and gave us a superior room with kindness. We much appreciated it.

Empfang war sehr nett, Frühstück war sehr gut, Pool und Klostergarten waren fantastisch! Ausblick auf die Donau vom Zimmer aus sehr schön. Spaziergang durch Dürnstein war sehr beeindruckend.

Personal beim Frühstück war nicht umsichtig und aufmerksam (Kaffeemaschine nicht geleert, Sekt war aus).

Excellent location in the old city part of Durstein. It’s a very well run by the property owner family who are very very helpful.

Otelin konumu, genel havası, manzarası,kahvaltısı,temizliği mükemmeldi.

Oda mobilyaları biraz eski tipteydi. Havuzbaşında hazır bir şezlong/güneşlik ortamı yoktu. Havuz bölgesinde görevli personel de yoktu. Teras kısmı bakımsızdı, nehre bakan kısımda oturamadık, bahçede aşırı sinek vardı.

Super Lage direkt in Dürnstein und trotzdem ruhig mit tollem Klostergarten und Außenpool zum Entspannen. Tolle Atmosphäre in einem historischen Gebäude und ein wirklich hervorragendes Frühstück.

Die Anreise mit dem Auto durch die Altstadt ist etwas herausfordernd, aber wenn man mal dort ist haben wir das Auto sowieso nicht mehr gebraucht.

צוות נחמד וארוחת בוקר מפנקת בכל טוב! באמת שהופתענו.

רצפת העץ בחדרים חורקת ונמעכת פנימה. מאוד לא נעים. טלוויזה שהיא בעצם מסך מחשב קטן. הזמנו מראש מקומות למסעדה, איך שהתיישבנו, ספרנו 5-6 נמלים ענקיים שמסתובבים על השולחן והתפריטים וגם כמה מעופפים שהחליטו לנוח בתוך כוסות היין. בשלב הזה אשתי כבר לא הייתה מוכנה להישאר במקום וקמנו.

Dürnstein vždy stojí za návštěvu, jedete-li do Wachau. Hotel má jedinečnou atmosféru s výborným personálem. Velkou výhodou je i parkování zdarma přímo u hotelu.

Dass es sich um ein historisches Gebäude handelt, muss einem bewusst sein und trägt auch sehr zum Charme des Hotels bei, aber man muss auch ehrlich sagen, dass die Zimmereinrichtung sehr in die Jahre gekommen ist und wenig Komfort bietet (beginnend bei den Betten...). Leider war es jedoch stickig und heiß im Zimmer (keine Klimaanlage) und die Böden haben sehr geknarzt - daher war es für uns als Familie mit kleinem Baby nicht sehr geeignet.
