Reviewed Sep 5, 2026Liked the size of the room. Reception staff especially Maria were very helpful in loaning me an iron and a kettle. The small fridge in the room helped. Nice big balcony. Alex at reception managed to find me a room with a bathtub.
My whole reservation was cancelled because I arrived a day later due to missing my flight. I emailed the hotel on six occasions letting them know I was arriving a day later. I only received one reply from the hotel saying, we will see what we can do for you. Shortly after receiving this email from the hotel my reservation was cancelled. I panicked and contacted booking.com on numerous times but all my emails were ignored. I contacted my lawyer who wanted to take my case further. I asked my lawyer to put my case on hold and to wait to see what happened when I arrived at the hotel. My booking at Fontana Plaza was from the 26th to 30th of August they had no right to cancel my booking as I arrived on the 27th of August. My booking was up until the 30th of August booked and paid for. When I arrived at the hotel on the 27th of August I spoke with Alex at reception he told me this is the hotels policy when a guest doesn't show up on the first day of their booking then it's cancelled this is very wrong especially when my room was booked and paid till the 30th of August. Alex at reception asked me what did I want him to do and I replied give me back my booking and after being kept waiting almost an hour at reception I was finally given a room. Guest shouldn't have to be put through this awful experience booking.com and the Hotel Fontana Plaza ignoring all my emails. I could have taken this matter further by getting my lawyer involved. If my booking hadn't been reinstated then booking.com would have left me no option but to take legal action against them and Hotel Fontana Plaza. One very disgusted customer of booking.com Christina McGuiness

Reviewed Aug 29, 2026Beds and pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Volume of the music at the pool was awful. No lock on ladies toilet at the pool. Miserable barmaid at pool bar served short measures. Breakfast food was poor quality and lukewarm.

Our experience with this hotel was very bad because: staff were very rude. Before I made the booking, I checked their website which states (parking on site is available, it is not possible to book parking n advance. But available cost 25 euros a day). When we arrived, they said parking was not available. I argued as this is not what it said in their website. The staff at the reception promised that I could discuss this with the manager next day. But next day I was informed by another staff that the manager was not available and described her colleague for (lying to me to get away). In the room there were 3 (very small) sache of soap. We had to ask for more soap and they brought us another 2 sache, which were never enough to even wash your hair. There was a door between our room and next door room, it was not locked and had to call reception and it took a while before they came and locked the room. We did not feel safe as we did not know if next door residents accessed our room or not. no privacy in the toilet, no lock on the toilet door. Very/very expensive and please DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on this hotel.
