Reviewed Apr 15, 2026It felt more like staying in someone’s private home than in a guesthouse. Parking was limited, and we were required to park to one side to accommodate the owner’s vehicles. Even after receiving approval to return late from a function, we were told to keep quiet upon arrival. Early in the morning, around 05:30, the owner of the household became active and left for work, with cars and trailors moving. If I had wanted the experience of staying in someone’s home with these kinds of restrictions, I would have rather booked an Airbnb.

Reviewed Dec 7, 2025The hosts were very kind and helpful. At the time, storms damaged infrastructure and they were faced with a 5 day power outage, but a generator was available and everything was so convenient. Colbyn is a wonderful neighbourhood and close to everything of importance.

I would have appreciated a paper map of the city. Took a while to get my bearings.

Reviewed Oct 17, 2025Das Guesthouse liegt an der kaum befahrenen Amosstrasse mit Botschaften von Südsudan und Botswana. Man bewegt sich tagsüber in einem sicheren Umfeld. Im Frühjahr blühenden in der Strasse die Jacarandas Bäume und verbreiten den Zauber eines Märchens.

The room requires some maintenance to be done. The bathroom doorframe had rusty patches and the ceiling light was not properly fixed.

I chose a room that was too small for two people. This was my fault because I thought the other rooms didn’t have a microwave only to find all rooms have microwaves. The rooms are value for money

Ant problem in the bathroom, they were full alongside the bathroom wall and sometimes on the toilet pan. I didn’t get to speak to the owner regarding the matter as sometimes an ant problem is fairly common and didn’t hamper the quality of my stay.
