The location is perfect and the bar offers nice drinks and croissant, yogurt and coffee to start your day with a breakfast. The 8 bed room was clean and the bed was comfy.

Great old building with fun decor. Games. Big screen for matches. An old timey bar.

Not much bad to say really. Maybe more hooks or shelving in the bathrooms?

Good value for money, but 16 people in a room is a bit too much, I think. Also, the room wasn't ready at 3pm. Shower/toilet area is too cramped and could be cleaner.

The hostel wasn't in the main part of Venice, you must buy a boat "vaporreto" to move around Venice, they only rent towels, you have to pay 5 euros for it, the soap and shampoo also you have to pay. The breakfast wasn't cheap, and doesn't have much protein, and for a traveler that's one be walking around the city it's kind of important. My room had a particularly bad smell, I think that someone didn't wash his foot for a long time. And the A/C was permanently turned on, luckily for me the hostel provide a duvet for everyone

La limpieza , el customer service dejó mucho que desear. No me parece bien que cobren por dejar el equipaje al check in por 1 hora de espera , la respuesta del recepcionista fue robótica : tenéis unos locker donde podéis pagar por dejar las maletas. Osea hay algo que no termine de entender : 3 euros por hacer check out a la 1 que me parece barato , y después te cobran entre 4-6 euros por dejar las maletas al check-in. Lo siento , me parece algo básico en un hostel.

El alojamiento está sucio, sobretodo los baños de chicas, solo hay dos duchas y dos WC. Y tienen suciedad acumulada desde el año que abrieron, da realmente asco. La ubicación en una zona que no hay absolutamente nada de ambiente

No me gustó la limpieza, la peste de la habitación, los mosquitos de la habitación, tener que pagar 5€ por el candado y que no te devuelvan el dinero y lo mismo por la toalla

L’ostello ha fascino ed è impressionante uscire e trovarsi davanti uno specchio d’acqua con Venezia davanti. C’è però qualcosa che non funziona, non c’è nell’aria quella elettricità e voglia di esserci e di incontrarsi che si sente in tanti ostelli. A volte sembra triste. I cassettoni sotto i letti sono scomodissimi, rumorosi e ingombranti in un modo che se apre uno, non apre l’altro.

To get to the hotel from Venice you have to pay the boat ride 9.75 euros per person both ways back and forward every day besides your hotel rates. For as long as you stay in the hotel

Indudablemente la ubicación. Es la segunda vez que me hospedo aquí, en habitación compartida mixta. Las habitaciones son silenciosas (si te tocan huéspedes educados). Baños impecables, al igual que la ropa de cama. Pero la habitación....

La habitación no estaba limpia. El piso se notaba hacía mucho no se barría ni trapeaba. A algunas ventanas les faltaba la cortina para tapar la entrada de luz. La distribución de las camas hacía que los cajones que van debajo para guardar los efectos personales, se chocaran con el huésped de la cama paralela. Son todos comentarios con el propósito de introducir mejoras.

Apesar de ter o lugar da recepção, saguão e o bar bem bonitos, este hostel poderia investir mais em detalhes que fariam toda diferença, como cortinas nas camas, acesso a uma cozinha para ou alguma facilidade para os hóspedes; pois eles te cobram até por uma água quente…acho que a ganância dos donos acaba sendo um tiro no pé, pois nenhum hostel dessa rede tem avaliação acima de 8, o que de fato reflete bem a realidade….isso acaba sendo uma boa oportunidade de empresários concorrentes investirem na área.

Мені сподобалося розташування - швидко до центру дістатися, а ввечері було відносно тихо і мало народу. Персонал крутий! Взагалі, хороша атмосфера.

Location is good, mostly friendly staff. You can see that the hostel was built with a higher standard...

... that has unfortunately not been maintained. Few showers, some not repaired/ useable, loads of mold on the caulk, which would be quite easy to replace. Owners don't seem to care, as this issue has been raised in other reviews already, since a while.

however very bad facilities for the price, the bathrooms were disgusting and insufficient for the amount of beds.. there is little privacy (for this hostel price would expect at least a curtain in the beds), storage are these very loud metal boxes under the bed which make a lot of noise if people want to get stuff while others are sleeping and overall not very pleasant experience and little overall care with facilities for quite an expensive hostel price.

Breakfast outside in the giudecca canal. So, it was the cheapest accomodation in that time (cinema festival). But it needs some basic improvement...

First of all, toilette, washroom for example. More were broken down, washroom are very helpness, without any place to put your cloche. Sometime also a bit dirty, but dipende on people...But I will go back again in generator hostel. Last but not least, people who attend hostel, should be go in the other Generator hostel all over the world ( Amsterdam bruxells, munich) to see how put the service at the best.

The dorm room, bathroom, and common areas were always very clean. The AC worked well. The room was surprisingly quiet all the time.

The price is very expensive for a 7- bed dormitory.

Posizione comoda per chi deve lavorare alla Giudecca, ovviamente per chi è disposto a condividere la stanza e il bagno. Tutto comunque pulito e decente, e lo staff è stato gentilissimo!

Non pagate la colazione! Orrenda: brioche fredde e vecchie, che mi hanno fatto venire mal di stomaco. Non c’è praticamente nulla tra cui scegliere. Portatevi qualche felpa per dormire, perché l’aria condizionata in camera è piuttosto forte. D’altra parte, è comunque necessaria per riuscire a respirare in una stanza condivisa con tante persone, quindi si può capire.

The view from the room was beautiful and the lobby area was active and social. When I arrived, the bed assigned to me had not been cleaned but the staff quickly assigned me to a new bed. I had read bad reviews about the bathrooms but the one in my dorm room was acceptable.

The price I paid was extremely high for a bed in a dorm, but apparently that was due to the Venice film festival being on and it's not usually that much. The location of the hostel is also a little tricky to find and you HAVE to take a boat to get there and then across to the main part of Venice. Nobody I spoke to at the hostel had realised this when they booked and I think it is important to note. However, I found the boats fairly easy to navigate anyway so it's not too big a deal and meant you're in a quieter area still with some nice restaurants around.

My second time staying here, its clean and modern hostel and the cheapest accommodation in venice atm.

You neeeeed to use a ferry to get there as its on its own lil island which is fine just keep in mind if you get in late or checking out early. Also i normally ask to have a preference on either top or bottom bunk and this was the first hostel that has charged a fee for a bed request. €2 per night is a bit ridiculous and not a good look!

Es la segunda vez que vuelvo y es siempre un gran placer alojarme en el Generator. Me gusta todo, ambiente, ubicación, servicios. Además quiero destacar entre el personal, que ya en sí lo hacen súper bien, al chico alto que hace los cafés ya que me "salvó la vida" al aconsejarme un sitio donde arreglaban móviles.

Si pusieran más enchufes de corriente eléctrica en la hall de la entrada a lado de las mesas sería aún más perfecto.

I stayed in a 16 bed room, but it was still very comfortable. There were no curtains on the beds, but they had solid backs and sides so you didn't feel like there was that many other people and it helped cut down the noise. Each bed had a light and outlet. There was a locker room downstairs that you could pay to store your luggage in. I did this after checkout and it was pretty easy and worked well. The front desk was always staffed and it was very easy to talk to them and ask questions if needed. I also liked the water fountain downstairs. The hostel was not on the main island, but it was really close to a ferry stop with two lines that frequently came, so it was easy to get around.

This isn't really a negative, since it did work just fine, but the lockers were sliding containers under the bed. I was able to shove my carry on and backpack in, but the low height and flap opening only half the depth made it a bit awkward. Because it pulled out under half the bed I couldn't get down the ladder when the other person had theirs out. I think it would have been better for the bottom bunk to have the locker not directly under the ladder to prevent this issue. The restrooms were gender segregated. This wouldn't have been a problem for most people, but as a nonbinary person it meant that I wasn't really able to use the restroom or shower. I quickly ran in when I had to, but it made me very uncomfortable and I wasn't able to shower at all. I think there was a disabled toilet downstairs that I might have been able to use, but I didn't ask.

It had a cool communal area and the rooms were nice.

The guidecca was alright, but expensive to get across on vaporetti. The rooms were also very big and didn’t have curtains, which was more of an issue as it was full of 50 year olds. Bathrooms also were a bit dirty.

Que cobren 5 euros por las toallas, que la publicación de booking sea engañosa ya que ponían con desayuno incluido y allí luego lo desmienten, es un Hostal y no respetan nada por la noche el resto de habitaciones hacen fiestas. El aire acondicionado super antiguo y no funcionaba hemos pasado una de las peores noches de nuestros vidas con el terrible calor de Venecia

Nicht sauber, Wände sehr dünn, man hört alles. Nachts schaltet plötzlich die Klimaanlage mit voller Power ein und man friert fast ein während des Schlafs.

Ottima posizione, bell'atmosfera con gli altri ospiti e spazi in comune super. Buoni gli spritz e l'aperitivo. C'è un bellissimo dehors sull'acqua. Rapporto qualità prezzo imbattibile, ottimo per la biennale (fate l'abbonamento mezzi).

Per la colazione c'è poca scelta e poca qualità. Il servizio spesso è lento e c'erano costanti problemi con le chiavi elettroniche. Nel dormitorio femminile ci sono fin troppi letti (anche più fitti di altre stanze che ho visto).

Ein Hostel, da ist der Komfort zweitrangig. Lage sehr schön, die Insel hat seinen entspannten Charme mit herrlichem Blick Richtung Markusplatz. Das Design im Eingang ist sehr ansprechend, das Personal freundlich.

Man schwitzt etwas auf den Matratzen, da diese mit Plastik überzogen sind.

Las habitaciones y los pasillos son espaciosos, y en general está limpio. Hay pocos baños, pero no tuve que esperar. Está cerca de dos paradas del vaporetto y conecta bien con la estación de tren Santa Lucía y el muelle de San Marcos.

Los muelles de mi cama hacían ruido cada vez que me movía. El cajón para guardar cosas bajo la cama hace ruido cada vez que lo abres (aunque vayas con cuidado), lo cual es molesto en mitad de la noche y la madrugada. Además, no se mantiene abierto, así que tienes que aguantar la tapa mientras sacas y guardas cosas. Eché en falta un lugar en la cama donde dejar el móvil, las gafas, la llave de la habitación y una botellita de agua. Hay una pequeña balda encima de donde va el cojín, pero era muy pequeña y se caían las cosas. Aunque los baños estaban bien, los lavamanos estaban constantemente encharcados y el baño junto a las duchas olía todo el tiempo a humedad, como si faltara ventilación. Aunque el hostal está cerca de San Marcos usando el vaporetto, es un barco más a tener en cuenta en tus itinerarios, con sus horarios y posibles retrasos. Aunque en general son bastante puntuales. La zona cerca del hostal está prácticamente desierta.

There is no lock for the showers, and you have to pass them to get to the toilets. The showers also had black mold, bring shoes for the shower!

The location was absolutely phenomenal. Great cafe, nice rooms with divided beds and air conditioning. Super comfortable to sleep in.

The bathrooms weren't great. The showers didn't have a changing area, just the actual cubicle but it wasn't a aingle person bathroom so getting dressed and undressed was tough and there was nowhere for clothes, toiletries, or towels except one hook and a couple inch shelf within the shower stall.

Si tienen la oportunidad de reservar en este hostal desaprovechenla, es el peor hostal de toda europa, pero si hay algo que reconocerle es que son unos expertos en ahorrar y estafar a las personas, en mi reservación indicaba que compartiria habitación con otras 6 personas pero cuando entre a la habitación había mas de el doble de personas en un pequeño cuarto, pero el verdadero problema fue saber que había más de 30 personas en un solo piso y solo dos baños funcionales pero exageradamente pequeños, la regadera era ridículamente pequeña y con nula privacidad ( porque para usar el WC tiene que entrar al baño cuando está alguien más duchandose) y cero limpieza. Otra cosa es que para llegar al hostal debes pagar una tarjeta de movilidad que te cuesta 25€ al día, entonces si vas estar un día en la ciudad no tiene caso comprarla.

Aunque no está alejado de Venecia, de hecho está en la isla, está ubicado en la isla sureña, por lo que hay que usar el Vaporetto para llegar y si van con equipaje pesado, llega a ser molesto.

It has a bar on the first floor, the place was being cleaned when I checked-in.

My first night out if 2. My flught was cancelled. Since its not refundable I messaged the hostelif I can have an early check in instead as its already paid. The reply is yes, but when I arrive around 1.10pm. The staff wont allow me and I have to follow the usual check in. Another thing is that molds are in the shower room. The floor is flooded in the main shower room. They dont ask you if you want a bottom or top bunkbed. Also theres an incident where an idiot guest woke me up because I was snoring, and he also woke another guy across, and had an argument with a lady. I messaged the reception if they can do anything. They chose to ignore. What if it got out of control? The place is on an isolated island as well, the laundry has no English translation. I accidentally placed to warm air for the dryer. What a waste of 4.50€

Everything was great, smooth checkin, comfy bed, very clean, a/c. Nice interiors and bar on the ground floor. Good location - close to water bus station.

Zimmer und Bett war sehr sauber, genug Stauraum vorhanden und Nachtlicht sowie Steckdose waren sehr praktisch. Die Temperatur im 16er Zimmer war angenehm und die Betten bequem. Sehr, sehr gute Lage in Venedig. Mit dem Wasserbus innerhalb von 5min am San Marco Platz

Die Badezimmer (insbesondere die Duschen) waren deutlich zu klein und man konnte seine Duschsachen nirgendwo lassen. Oftmals auch war der Boden total nass und die Toiletten leider verdreckt. Die Bar im unteren Bereich des Hostels war sehr teuer und schließt schon relativ Früh. Billiard konnte man nur gegen Bezahlung spielen

Easy check-in. Nice staff. They have a water fountain for refilling bottles, not very cold tho. The bed was fairly comfy. Pretty close to public transport and has seating inside and outside. Decent ac.

There was no separate rooms for showers so people walked in. I kept hitting the wall on the bunk bed likely disturbing others, a fabric of some sort would be better.

What I would like to mention is the luggage storage service. When I first contacted the staff, I specifically asked whether you had a luggage storage service available. However, the reply mainly mentioned the possibility of early check-in, which did not directly answer my question. The message also stated that I would be able to leave my luggage in the deposit room, but there was no information about any additional charge. When I arrived, I found out that I had to pay for the luggage storage. Since the price was not mentioned beforehand, I did not expect that there would be an additional fee. I was also surprised to find that the bed had not been made and the sheets had not been provided when I entered the room. I had expected the room to be fully prepared for my arrival.

The staff is amazing, don't know the name of the man that helped me with my check in yesterday. It's amazing that their reception works 24/7, I arrived due to my delayed flight around 2:30 a.m and I'm so grateful all went good. This person from the staff even spoke Spanish 🫶🏼. So helpful and kind. The hostel in general is lovely, clean and nice common areas

Embora Giudecca seja uma ilha bem legal, você se torna dependente do sistema de transporte público por barco, que é caríssimo. E a lavanderia do hotel foi caríssima

Ogólnie było brudno, w szczególności w łazienkach, dodatkowo łazienki były za małe na ilość osób przebywających w obiekcie. Branie prysznicu i ogólnie korzystanie z nich było nieprzyjemne.

El todo la verdad, y me he sacado el de 24 hs de vaporeto que fue la mejor opción. Ya que te moves con tranquilidad. Lugar increíble y cómodo.

There was only one bathroom (toilet and shower) for a room of 12 people whoch was not ideal. There were w extra toilets in the in corridor for all to use.

La ubicación cercana al centro de venecia con tan solo pillar un boat- taxi.

Las duchas eran compartidas para más de 30 personas, 2 para todo el mundo y abiertas a que cualquiera te vea duchando al entrar, además del pesimo baño la habitación hacian mucho ruido porque estaban construidas con una chapa fina que si alguien se movía hacia retornar la habitación y un termostato que no se podía tocar a una temperatura cercana a los 12°.
