Reviewed Jul 17, 2026Five Stars is not enough for this Stay and Staff. I spent over a week here for a work trip, the staff made it feel like a home away from home and made the experience even better than I had expected. Rooms were super clean and comfortable, and were made up daily by super professional staff. The only downside was I had to leave. The restaurant attached "the bunker" had a burger that made it into my top 5 of all time! A huge thank you to all of the staff, who made my first experience to Red Lake even more enjoyable! Well done!

Reviewed Nov 30, 2025Rooms and hotel were clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast hours were generous and plenty of choices. Coffee available 24 hours. There is a wonderful coffee machine that offered a variety of choices!! Tim Hortons is also very nearby. I definitely would not hesitate to stay here again!!

Reviewed Nov 27, 2025This hotel is right before you head into town and sits high up on a hill. 4 stories, so plenty of rooms. Furniture is older ( 80s style) but clean Friendly staff and the complimentary breakfast is very well stocked, even the coffee is better than most premium hotel chains. Issue: whomever installed or designed the new revisions and cable box set up, needs to go back to scrubbing toilets for a living or fired. Dumbest setup I've seen in 30 years of traveling that even if you're technicallysaavy, good luck. . Even the front desk staff admitted they get calls every day regarding their new system. To Super 8 Managenent, DO BETTER! Get rid of what you Installed and start over.

We had items in the back of our puck up truck and they were not taken or tampered over night. So the security was good. Breakfast in AM was more than good. Thankyou for caring about your customers !!

Reviewed Sep 1, 2025I was extremely disappointed with the service. When I booked the room I asked for a room on the first floor because my husband is handicapped. They told me they would. I called back to get the room one more night and asked if the room was on the first floor and the answer was yes. I also called directly to the hotel and asked again and the answer was yes. So I got three yeses - when we got there I found out our room was 416. I will never stay there again because I was told a lie 3 times - very bad service. Also no one from cleaning even looked in our room - if they had they would have seen we needed towels. Very disappointing.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2025Considering it is the only hotel in the area, it's a good, clean hotel with great service. Free breakfast was decent, and there's a Tim Horton's next door that is open 24 hours which is convenient. Front desk staff was very helpful in finding me a corkscrew and box that I needed. The only thing is the construction of the hotel seems to be wood, so sound travels between rooms, like you can even hear the floor squeaking above if someone is walking around in the room above you. But overall, a pleasant stay when visiting this remote area.

The balcony with chairs and a side table was a pleasant surprise as well. The free breakfast was good, from 5 am - 10 am which was really great, with all day coffee (excellent coffee), tea and juice! We will definitely stay there again

However, the Super 8 Team was kind enough to waive our charges for the 3 rooms we had reserved, due to the severity of the fires. Super 8 Red Lake did not have to do this waiver, as we gave notice the day of the reservation, due to our camp being closed at such short notice. We truly appreciate the consideration provided by Super 8 Red Lake, & will continue to book all our Red Lake stays at this hotel.

Reviewed Jun 16, 2025Even with the signs posted about bear activity and breaking into vehicles, it would have been nice to have a verbal reminder at check in. Our vehicle got attacked by a bear, obviously because we had groceries for our fishing trip. There needs to be options for bear proof storage. We could have unloaded the truck and taken everything to the room, but that would have been an inconvenience, but not as bad as losing our groceries for the week’s trip.

Reviewed Aug 5, 2024The staff was the only positive of the experience. They tried to accommodate within what they were allowed to do. But there weren't any rooms available supposedly.
It was filthy!! There was no attempt to clean the suite we were in. There was pubic hair all over the tub, dog hair on the walls and some sort of liquid crust all over the bed. Thank goodness we brought extra blankets to sleep on top of. Negative score out of 10 for this hotel. Personally I would like my money back, I will be reaching out to the general manager about this stay. The staff couldn't refund me any money of the $300+ a night they charged me to stay in a filthy hotel room because I booked the room with booking.com. Regardless if I booked from a 3rd party site, I expect cleanliness to be the highest standard upheld in a hotel.

Would love to seen more eco friendly options - recycle bin in rooms and get rid of small plastic containers of shampoo etc. Replace with refillable containers. Overall a very comfortable place to stay.

Reviewed Jul 17, 2024Super 8 in Red Lake is a very clean hotel, I have stayed there 5 times now as my night before destination before my fly out the next day for a week long fishing trip. The rooms are always clean and very comfortable. The only item I would ask is to include in your breakfast is eggs and sausage. For a hearty breakfast as we get ready for a week long fishing trip. Staff is always helpful and nice.
