We stayed at El Ksar Resort & Thalasso from 3–10 August 2026 as a family of four, including our 13-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter. Sadly, this was one of the worst holidays we have ever experienced. From the very first morning, we had serious concerns. At around 08:00, while we were all asleep, housekeeping entered our room without knocking. Our room also had a dead safe battery, a cracked toilet seat, exposed electrical wiring/sockets, a terrace door that would not lock properly and a fridge that was heavily over-frozen and appeared dirty. Housekeeping did not properly clean the floor, and our bedding was stripped but not replaced. We also repeatedly had to ask for toilet paper. The customer service was extremely poor. Communication was very difficult because English was extremely limited among many members of staff. This made even basic requests frustrating. The food was one of the biggest disappointments. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were poor quality, with overcooked eggs, food frequently being cold and extremely long queues. Service was incredibly slow. By the time you finally got your food, it was often cold. The drinks were either far too sweet or extremely watered down. We struggled to find anything we actually wanted to eat. The pools also appeared dirty and poorly maintained. During the holiday, our 11-year-old daughter developed an ear infection. We were also told that there was no doctor available on site after 17:00 and that we would need to arrange a private call-out if we wanted medical assistance. Most concerningly, my husband and son suffered vomiting and **all four members of our family suffered diarrhoea during the holiday**. We cannot say for certain what caused this, but given our concerns about the food and hygiene, it was extremely worrying. This hotel was advertised as an all-inclusive family resort, but it certainly did not feel like the all-inclusive experience we had paid for. We have photographs and videos of some of the issues and have submitted a formal complaint to loveholidays. We are now asking them to investigate the safety, hygiene, food and service issues we experienced and to consider appropriate compensation. **Families considering this hotel should be aware of our experience before booking.** For us, this was absolutely not the relaxing family holiday we had paid for.
We had a wonderful stay at El Ksar Resort Hotel! We especially loved the animation team – they were absolutely fantastic, friendly, energetic and always made sure everyone had a great time. The daytime activities and evening shows were both sensational, with a great variety of entertainment. Our children absolutely loved every single program and had so much fun throughout our stay. The food was also excellent. There was a huge variety of dishes to choose from, and everything we tried was really delicious. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday and made some wonderful memories. A big thank you to the amazing animation team for making our stay even more special! We would definitely recommend El Ksar Resort and would love to come back! ❤️ Emese
I am extremely disappointed with my stay here. There are so many problems that I honestly regret choosing this hotel. First of all, the condition and cleanliness of the room are unacceptable. There is visible mould/damp around the bathroom, including dark mouldy areas beside the fittings. The ceiling/walls are also affected by damp, and today a piece of the ceiling/paint actually fell onto the floor. This is not what I expect from a hotel where I am staying with young children. Even basic things are poorly designed. The soap/shower gel bottles are extremely difficult to squeeze. You have to press very hard just to get a tiny amount out. I cannot imagine how someone with arthritis, wrist problems or reduced hand strength is supposed to use them comfortably. Another major problem is the attitude towards tips. This is not something that happened once. Staff have repeatedly and directly asked me for tips after helping me. I have even been told things along the lines of, “I helped you” or “I smiled for you, so give me a tip.” This happens so often that it makes you feel uncomfortable rather than welcomed. A tip should be voluntary and given because a guest appreciates good service guests should not feel pressured into giving money every time somebody helps them. Transportation is another issue. I tried to arrange an inDrive car to collect me from inside the hotel because I have children with me and mobility/back difficulties. Security refused to allow the driver inside and told me that if I wanted transport, the hotel could arrange a taxi instead. An inDrive journey was around 12 TND, whereas a taxi arranged through the hotel cost me around 30 TND for a comparable journey. That is a huge difference, and being prevented from using the cheaper transport option was extremely frustrating. The food has also been very disappointing and repetitive. It feels like the same food every day, with very limited choices for children. My youngest child has basically been surviving on chips or rice during our stay because there is so little that he will eat. I have also suffered severe diarrhoea during this holiday, which has made the whole experience even more unpleasant. What has made everything particularly difficult is that I am here alone with my young children. The hotel will not even allow my mother, sister or another family member to come and simply sit with my children in the room or reception area while I attend an appointment. I am not asking the hotel to provide them with meals, drinks or use of the hotel facilities. I simply need someone I trust to sit with my children for a short time. Because of this policy, I have been unable to attend a dentist appointment and do other necessary things. Travelling alone with children is already challenging enough. A hotel should make its guests feel comfortable, safe and welcome not make every simple thing more difficult. Between the mould and damp, deteriorating ceiling/paint, uncomfortable pressure for tips, transport restrictions and expensive taxis, repetitive food, difficult toiletries and inflexible visitor policy, this has been a very unpleasant stay. I would not recommend this hotel, particularly to parents travelling alone with young children. I expected a relaxing family holiday. Instead, I have spent much of it feeling uncomfortable, restricted and disappointed. I will definitely not return.
I was in holiday together here hotel good all things animation the beach and the best is Enzo
This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I just got married, and we paid €600 for three nights, which is a significant amount of money. Yet, as soon as we entered the hotel, it felt like we had gone back to the 80’s, the room smells terrible, the elevators don’t work, and the food is really bad. For the amount of money we paid especially when you convert it to Tunisian dinars this hotel is absolutely not worth it, I honestly expected much better for €600, and I’m extremely disappointed with our experience.
I had fun at El Ksar hotel. The animation team was top- 5 ⭐ for them. They are the heart of El Ksar. Lovely ppl. Especially Baki and Enzo who were very friendly, interactive and made the experience better. The other part of the team, don’t know their names were also nice. Gigi who was looking after the kids was lovely too. She would come and collect them for different activities and bring them back. There were lots of activities and different show every night including kids disco. The food was really nice and Tunisian ppl in the hotel from the stuff were all polite and smiling. The stuff were keeping on cleaning all the time, the public toilets were very clean at all times. The hotel itself is definitely NOT 4 star hotel but the room/bungalow they gave us was clean, not too bad and had air con. Some parts of the hotel were not even 2 star but I guess they keep refurbishing it slowly. The place is massive and it was very busy. Not enough sunbeds for everyone so needed to reserve 6 am. If there was no entertainment team and specifically those people I mentioned above, would have been boring cos nothing to do there, it’s very hot and you can’t go explore, it’s a big city. I’ve got really nice memories, the hotel has got a character. I think 5-7 days is enough to stay there. Kind regards to the entertainment team and many thanks for their big effort.
I came here with a big family. 20 people with lots of little ones. And there is so much going on for everyone. Big thank you to the animation team who made this experience way better for the adults and the kids. All the staff are very nice and caring. Including the shisha man Saif who took care of us the whole time. They become family at the end. Love the hospitality. The energy from everyone especially the animation team was just the best. Would definitely recommend this place for the kids and adults
Best holiday everrrrr with animation time
We really enjoyed our one-week vacation. The hotel was right by the sea. The water was clean and warm. The animation team was amazing, very friendly, and made us feel like family. The waiters were kind and caring. Atmosphere was great. We will always remember.
I will share my very bad holiday experience here in detail without any advice to anyone. We booked this holiday with Love Holidays and everything was upside down from the minute we secured it with the deposit and monthly payment plan. 5 days after we secured our holiday we've been informed that our fee was increased by around £250. I've contacted Love Holidays over the phone and complained about this increased fee. The agent told me that our holiday was not confirmed at the time of my deposit because it takes time to contact the hotel and get the booking confirmation of them. However he said that he will speak with his manager about this and he will try to sort this in our favor which he did. We were confirmed to go to Tunisia for the price initially shown. Yet, he didn't mention that our private transfer was charged to shuttle. So basically we went there on the same price but with less confort and a lot of hassle. Finally we arrived to the hotel before check-in time so we had to wait about 1 hour which was no trouble at all. We waited until 2PM when the check-in time was advertised on our booking and went to get our room. The receptionist told us in a very lousy and bad English that our room is not ready yet so we need to wait for another 15 minutes which in we completely understood. However at 2.30 I went to ask if we can proceed with the check-in and I've been told the same. Room was not ready and to wait another 15 minutes. I've asked if we could drop our luggage in the luggage room so we can go around the resort to see what's about. The answer back was shocking. They said the baggage room is for people checking out only so I requested to speak with someone in charge about this. 20 minutes later a PR lady shows up with the same bad news for us. We had to wait until 4 PM for us to check-in after I started a scene in reception's lobby. Our holiday package was Ultra All Inclusive. I've asked for a vodka lemonade drink and I've been told to pay. I said I have Ultra All Inclusive package and local spirits and soft drinks are included and they told me that vodka and lemonade is a cocktail so I have to pay for as cocktails are not included. So I've ordered separate vodka and lemonade and mixed them together. The guy behind the bar called his manager and reported me as cocktail drinking person. The manager wanted me to pay for the drink I've made myself. It was a really hilarious situation because nobody there could speak any decen English so everything was understood upside down. After this incident all I had as drinks was soft drinks which by the way were room temperature so basically boiling hot considering the air temperature was over 40. Beach bar with only 1 guy serving hundreds of people so the queue was enormous was serving water, soft drinks and beer which again was room temperature. A second bar was placed by the water slides was serving the same lousy drinks. The main bar is placed by reception lobby and is the only one which serves the free spirits included in the package. That hotel can accommodate more than 1000 people. Please imagine the queue. It was enormous. Luckily for us that we're not heavy drinkers. The restaurant is messy with dirty sticky tables, dirty walls and stained windows. Is not even close to what a restaurant should look like. The food is repetitive without any taste or looks. I've noticed the leftovers from lunch are served for dinner or next day. After 2 days of food there a skin rush appeared on my arm on my leg and on my lips. The hotel itself is a ruin with dirty carpets which I believe they leave them so dirty to cover the parts where the carpet don't exist anymore or is that thin that you can see through. Is a constant hazard with smoke alarms out of use or broken, with wet floors without warning signs, with loose electri wires out the walls, with wire connection without any protection. Please check the photos attached. The only good thing about this hotel is the Animation Team. Everything else is Apocalyptic. The word disaster is a very soft word if I'll have to describe this hotel in 1 word. We are not posh people, we are just a regular family looking to enjoy a holiday and have good times. Unfortunately this experience was one which I want to forget as soon as possible.
My overall rating is 3 stars. While certain aspects of our stay were excellent, we unfortunately experienced unacceptable and unequal treatment from the dining room staff. On a positive note, the hotel is spacious and clean, the pool area provides a great experience, and the proximity to the beach is highly convenient. Although the interior is somewhat dated, it is evident that the rooms are being progressively renovated.Regarding the service issues, during dinner, our table was lacking glasses on two occasions, preventing us from pouring even water. The staff appeared so overwhelmed that our table was repeatedly overlooked. Holding my two-year-old child, I requested a plastic cup at the dining room bar. The bartender had cups readily available and could have easily assisted me. Instead, his only response was a dismissive "go away," accompanied by a hand gesture signaling me to leave. He then pointed at me and laughed with a colleague. This experience was deeply humiliating. The following day during lunch, I accidentally spilled two drops of coffee onto the floor while walking. A staff member physically stopped me by touching my arm to point it out. I immediately apologised, to which he replied in a hostile manner, "Oh, sorry, and what?" He then pointed at me again in front of a crowded dining room. I am entirely unsure what reaction he expected, but the staff's conduct was once again degrading. In conclusion, were it not for the unprofessional behavior of the staff, this would have been a highly pleasant holiday. Regrettably, these incidents have left a very negative impression, as such behavior should never occur in a hospitality environment.
Omg where do I start am not a snob in any means but this place is bad !! Dated run to the ground dirty it nearly ruined our holiday !! Got to hotel taken to a room as we described as a dungeon no balcony a tree and wasteland to look at ..no wings ..if you have kids or on business and use WiFi this is not the place no signal anywhere but reception!! Only good thing was air con ..pictures are from years ago on website ..food was official lived of sandwich’s with tomato sauce who puts tomato sauce on sandwiches not me ..animation time were lovely friendly but entertainment none same rubbish every night ..my son loved the sand park he played in that with friends didn’t watch the entertainment as it was boring sorry to the staff as they were lovely ..drinks limited size of cups don’t yeh me started tiny warm drinks nobody to serve overall very very disappointing would never go bck we made this holiday special over selves but avoid please don’t put yourselves through the horror of this hotel I could go on and on much more but I really am fed up of even thinking about this place no glad to be in my comfy clean bed and house !!
I would like to share a brief review of our 11-day stay at your hotel. Due to some negative reviews we had read beforehand, we arrived with certain concerns. However, we were pleasantly surprised to be allocated a very nice room. While the corridors appear somewhat dated and could benefit from renovation, the room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which contributed positively to our stay. In the first few days, the organization in the dining area was not optimal. Guests tended to arrive at similar times, which occasionally resulted in waiting times of up to 20 minutes for food. This improved somewhat as the stay progressed. Finding a sunbed by the pool was quite challenging, as most were reserved very early in the morning, often as early as 5 a.m., which limited availability during the day. The beach area was very enjoyable and well-kept. However, the beach bar, which was advertised as all-inclusive, offered only beer, which was somewhat disappointing compared to expectations. On a very positive note, the animation team made a strong impression throughout our stay. In particular, Enzo, Dali, Dayas, Baki, and Gigi stood out for their energy, friendliness, and dedication. They significantly enhanced the overall holiday experience, and we would like to sincerely thank them for their excellent work.
So far so good, lots of previous negative points. Room was alot better than I expected, but the porter did mention we had agood room. I guess some rooms need updating. Pools are good, beach is fantastic, surfing good too. Pool beds taken by 05.00!!! But plenty and better beds available on beach. Food so far - what do you expect, average Come on, we normally go the the Aqua in Icmeler Turkey. This place is 60% cheaper ! No brainer. Staff are great, but some of the guests are very rude - i won't name the normal guests country !! I would return sure. Great setting, of course this isnt a 4 star but Is great for a week
Warning! If you’re reading this because you’re about to book this hotel through On the Beach, be wary… very wary. We’re still here trying to contact On the Beach using their prompt (not) customer support on WhatsApp. Don’t even get me started on trying to call them – endless dead ends, and if you do finally get through, the call mysteriously drops. Before anyone asks, yes, we have complained to the hotel. In fairness to them, they didn’t write the advert. We booked this hotel based on what can only be described as the prose of a seasoned fictional writer. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. We weren’t expecting perfection either. We visited Tunisia last year, so we had a good idea of what a genuine 4-star hotel should offer. Unfortunately, this falls well short. The first warning sign came on arrival. Waiting 45 minutes to check in is simply absurd. You get passed from one member of staff to another, each seemingly responsible for a single task, when one person could easily complete the whole process. Then there’s the “Ultra All Inclusive” package. Whatever you do, don’t let those words influence your decision. In reality, only one bar in the main hotel serves beer, wine and a limited selection of spirits. The beach bar, despite being advertised as open 24/7, is actually open from around 10am until midnight if you’re lucky, and even then only beer and wine are included. If you fancy a spirit or a cocktail on the beach – despite them being exactly the same drinks available free of charge in the main bar – you’ll have to pay for them. To top it off, there’s a sign limiting you to one drink per person, served in what can only be described as a Sylvanian Families plastic cup. I don’t know if the person writing the hotel description was on drugs, but to imply the rooms are “swanky digs” is pure fantasy. Even the shower head doesn’t stay in its holder, meaning you have to hold it while trying to shower. Service has also been disappointing. While there are a few friendly members of staff, most of the waiting staff came across as indifferent or downright rude. We arrived fully intending to tip for good service, but the only person we’ve tipped so far is the housekeeper, who noticed we needed extra pillows without us even having to ask. As for the food, the artistic licence really got carried away when writing about “dining options to write home about”. The food is mediocre at best, with breakfast being particularly poor and offering very little choice. The advert mentions seven dining options. We’ve struggled to find two, never mind the tapas restaurant, which apparently only exists on paper. Please, whatever you do, don’t be sucked in by the utter bull written by On the Beach about this hotel. The description bears little resemblance to reality. In our opinion, this is a 3-star hotel at best, certainly not the ultra all-inclusive 4-star experience that was advertised.
I was there with my daughter, we enjoyed. The food was delicious and the room was okay. The animation was amazing, the evening’s shows was also entertaining. The guys (especially Enzo) was really friendly and he was always smiling. We will come back. We recommend this hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay at El Ksar. All of the staff were helpful and went out of their way to assist where necessary. My husband uses a mobility scooter and we had no issues getting around. Reception advised us of the best lift to use to get to the lower ground floor so it was never an issue. Rooms were comfortable although the single bed in the triple room was really hard. We put a spare quilt on it which helped a lot. The food was really good and yes a bit repetitive but the themed nights helped with this. Overall we would return to this hotel although probably not in July as it was extremely hot. In the last few days the hotel started to really fill up which was leading to some larger queues. Well done to El Ksar team and especially the waiter Khlfi Kamel who was super friendly and helpful.
Everything was great. I didn’t pay attention to the malicious reviews and trusted that everything would be fine. Excellent location, top-notch entertainment, good food, and beautiful rooms. They could pay a little more attention to cleanliness — the windows and floor cleaning — but otherwise everything was great
We had a lovely holiday at El Ksar and made some wonderful memories. The highlight of our stay was definitely the animation team, especially Baki and Enzo. Their aqua gym sessions were so much fun, full of energy and laughter, and they made everyone feel welcome. Girls at mini club were always great. The lifeguards were amazing with children and always friendly and attentive. A special thank you to Nabir, Yassin, Omar and Aziz for making our children feel so comfortable and safe around the pools. The bar staff were also very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I'd also like to mention the gentleman who cleans the lifts every morning. He was always smiling, respectful and hardworking – thank you for your kindness. The Tunisian food night was fantastic and one of the culinary highlights of our holiday. Overall, the food was good. There are a few areas that could be improved. The cleanliness of the hotel could be better, and the lifts are in need of repair as they were not always reliable during our stay. Despite these issues, we had a great time and would like to thank all the wonderful staff who helped make our holiday enjoyable.
I really liked the food. The animation team was amazing. I can recommend this hotel.
It was one of the best experiences i have ever had. The animation team was amazing and very friendly with everyone. The staff in the restaurant and hotel helpful and very positive and polite. Would definitely come back and recommend it to everyone
Really nice animators... 10 out of 10.... 🥂💐🎊
Amazing and friendly people, and the best animation team
Die Lage ist sehr schön.
Animation war nicht so professionell. Jeden Tag gleiche Musik.
We really enjoyed our two-week vacation. The hotel was right by the sea. The water was clean and warm. The animation team was amazing, very friendly, and made us feel like family. The waiters were kind and caring. Room was modern. Atmosphere was great. We will always remember this trip. 😘❤️
Everything was perfect in the hotel. The animation group organized interesting and experimental programmes .the guys were very friendly and kind .if we have the chance we will come back.
This is our second time staying at El Ksar Hotel, and once again it has been an absolutely fantastic experience. We came with our family and everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel is beautiful, luxurious, and very well maintained. The rooms are comfortable, spotless, and cleaned perfectly every day. The food is outstanding, with a great variety and excellent quality at every meal. The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. Their hospitality makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The location is perfect, with a stunning beach and beautiful sea views. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is relaxing, enjoyable, and ideal for families. Everything about this hotel is simply amazing – the service, the food, the cleanliness, the entertainment, the beach, and the overall experience. We have stayed in many hotels, but El Ksar remains one of our absolute favorites. A special thank you to Gigi, Sami, and Hisham for their kindness, professionalism, and outstanding service throughout our stay. They truly made our holiday even more special. We would also like to thank all the other staff members who work so hard every day to make guests feel welcome and cared for. Every single member of the team was fantastic. Thank you to the entire team for making our holiday so memorable. We will definitely return again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful and unforgettable vacation.
This hotel is the most beautiful hotel I have stayed in. The staff, especially the animation team are brilliant, they made mine and my family stay so special, we celebrated my sons first birthday here and it was the most amazing birthday we could of imagined, they made a cake , got us all on stage and made it one to remember, Khaled is absolutely amazing he captured special moment's with me and my family and always made sure we was okay. Baki and leonardo was the best they took their time with my children especially with my youngest and always had a smile on their faces, GI GI and the girls from the kids club was very patient and amazing with all kids. The waiter yasim was so kind and one of the best waiter we had the whole holiday, he always made sure our drinks was full and we had smiles on our faces. The lifeguards was the best with the children especially nassier. I have got nothing bad to say about the staff and animation, they certainly made the holiday so special. The only issue we had was no pram or wheelchair access around most of the hotel, but again there was always someone there to help with the pram down the stairs. Guest relations was so helpful and kind any problems she sorted and her English is magnificent. Without a doubt the hotel and everything else was amazing and would definitely come back.
We have just returned from El Xar Hotel. The hotel is not as luxurious as some others, but it has everything else. The food, the rooms are cleaned, everyone is very kind. What remained in our hearts are the three girl animators Kristina, Ruru and Zizi. ❣️ Thank you for the wonderful company and beautiful memories. If you have children, it will be fantastic.
I’m currently writing this from our hotel room as we are leaving for home tomorrow morning and wanted to give an honest review to those that need it! Me and my friend have stayed at El Ksar for 7 nights - all inclusive. The price was really fair considering it included all luggage, transfers, stay and flight. Upon arrival, we was checked in quite quickly once taxes had been paid. Our bags were taken to our room and we was briefly shown how to use the facilities (air con and tv if we needed). The rooms are basic, with no other facilities like kettle/iron etc. The bathroom is more dated, but, did the job for the stay! We did find a cockroach in the bathroom which freaked us out a little, but tried to not let this bother us. The outdoor area is maintained well. The ground men work hard to ensure it’s clean, tidy and presentable. The location is ideal and a perfect set up with a private section of beach relating to the hotel. Sunbeds are reserved from around 5am. If you want a sunbed in an ideal spot, you HAVE to wake up early. The only problem; guests reserve beds in perfect spots, go out for the day and leave the beds for hours.. annoying! Mattresses are provided for the beds outside and the lifeguards are more than happy to help. We tipped one particular man as he did not stop the whole day! All inclusive does not include ice creams in the day. The alcohol is very hit and miss depending on which bar you visit. House wine is bad, but the beer is better. House spirits available in the reception bar area - not outside. The animation team is great, it’s fully kitted out for children and imagine they had an amazing time. They do not pester you to join in if you didn’t want to. Music is loud by the pool but we didn’t mind! The children’s section with slides was great, as it meant there was much more space in the main pool. The food is very ‘localised’ / if you’re a picky eater, this will cause problems!! The spa experience was mediocre. Cheap and cheerful but not to be compared to any treatments you receive in the UK. Overall - get what you pay for. Not the worst and not the best! We needed to ask other guests for ‘how to’ questions… the welcome could have been better to ensure we fully understood the hotels systems.
Our stay at El Ksar Hotel was absolutely wonderful, and we truly enjoyed every moment of our vacation. The hotel has a beautiful beach with clear sea and the pool is really near to the sea. Comfortable sunbeds, clean rooms and a great location with easy access to the center of Sousse. However, what made our holiday truly unforgettable was the amazing animation team and their chef. They did incredible dance shows and other shows every evening, and you can really see how much passion and energy they put into their work. Every single member of the team was kind, friendly, and incredibly talented. A special thanks goes to Baki, Gigi from the Mini Club, and especially Enzo because he is an amazing person! Always smiling, friendly, full of positive energy, and a fantastic motivator. He made our vacation even more better. Thank you to the entire entertainment team for making our holiday so special. We recommend El Ksar Hotel, and if we ever return, it will be because of people like this!
Airport security and passport control an absolute breeze, private taxi waiting for us and a 40 minute transfer to hotel. Check in at the hotel fairly easy, although English is not the staffs first or second language. Room was clean with air con, little issue with electricity but was sorted quickly. Dedicated guest relations officer made this happen. Rooms are cleaned to a high standard daily and fresh towels etc provided, towels folded into novelty animals by house keeping. Main pool area is busy and sun beds need reserved early, but smaller pool by waterslides is just as nice has bar and is a bit quieter. Food in restaurant can be a bit repetitive but always well cooked, BBQ food is excellent. There is a KFC and other very nice restaurants walking distance from the hotel which split up in routine a little, these are very cheap, restaurants are very high class and wouldn’t seem out of place in a UK city centre (although no alcohol is served). Drinks at hotel bar are locally selected, beer is Celtia which is good, spirits are OK, premium spirits available at a cost. Staff are always friendly, asking about your day etc but it did take us a few days to figure this out, small daily tips (10 dinars = £2.50) go a long way. Sunbeds will be reserved, tables in restaurant reserved, glass is never empty at pool or restaurant, no need to queue at a busy pool bar, you will get it served direct. Bars indoors will provide nicer glasses, stronger drinks and a quicker service, sometimes brought to you while in queue. Tables reserved at nightly entertainment too, cost us about £10 in tips daily, changed our holiday. Entertainment team work very hard, special mention to Backy and Enzo for their efforts, never passed our table/sunbed without coming to say hello or play with our son. I even visited a local barbershop for a haircut and shave as I forgot my razor, hair washed cut, wash exfoliated, massaged and shaved cost £12.50, that itself an experience. Water sports are available on the beach at a reasonable cost. We were here for 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, not perfect, biggest complaint would be other rude guests but can’t change this, the value for money is amazing and would recommend to anyone looking for guaranteed sun, friendly faces, clean, tidy hotel. Thank you for a lovely family holiday
Great hotel, wonderful service and perfect location! Good animatiom team.

I come to holiday with family and we be so happy everyone good and the animation team lovely always friendly enzo and all the team amazing people
We had such a fantastic holiday at Hotel El Ksar Beach and Thalasso Resort, and the biggest reason was the incredible entertainment team. They truly made our stay unforgettable! From morning until late at night, they were full of energy, enthusiasm, and smiles. There was always something fun happening, whether it was games by the pool, sports activities, dancing, or the evening shows. They worked so hard to make sure everyone was included and having a great time, without ever being pushy. Every member of the team was friendly, approachable, and genuinely cared about making guests happy. They created such a welcoming atmosphere that it felt like spending time with friends rather than hotel staff. Their passion, professionalism, and positive attitude really stood out. Special mentions go to Enzo, Baki, Leonardo, and Mumu. Each of them brought their own unique energy and personality, and they always went the extra mile to make everyone laugh, get involved, and enjoy every moment of the holiday. Their friendliness, enthusiasm, and dedication really made a lasting impression, and they deserve recognition for all the hard work they put in every single day. A huge thank you to the entire entertainment team for making our holiday so enjoyable. You are a real credit to the hotel, and you are the reason we would happily return. We can’t wait to come back and see you all again. Keep up the amazing work—you all deserve every bit of praise! 👏🎉⭐
This hotel is very dated and not 4 star. This really shows in the bedrooms that aren't renovated, and t's generally quite rundown decor wise all over the main hotel. Check in is all paper and very lengthy, and you have to email or what's app your confirmation voucher when you check in. The all inclusive food wise is very samey and there's not much choice, we've had to eat out a few times. But the staff are lovely and the pool and beach are great and highly recommended. I wouldn't recommend this for small children (particularly British) as there just isn't food for them or anything for them to do apart from the slides. We've seen many upset families at dinner because there isn't anything child friendly to eat. For adults, this hotel is ok for its location and staff.
Honestly out of this world experience, hotel was amazing, staff was lovely, room was clean and same with the pool and eating area, had slight issue with air con and food could do with some work but overall not much to complain about, Activities held by baki such as beach football were very fun Hotel has great location with many Shops, restaurants and known establishments near by Highly recommend
Loved it here, entertainment from the animation team was awesome. Activities were very well organised and I really enjoyed my time here.
If you're not ready to eat out every day don't book this hotel... The food was horrible. We were eating in the restaurant the first 3 days after that we couldn't cope with the same food repeating, bland taste, some of it uncooked due to massive demands as it gets very busy in the restaurant. Rooms are dated but what you can expect from Tunisia, very close to the beach that is really beautiful! Great staff and service personnel. Lovely people it's just that the Current owner seems to not want to invest back into the hotel. Although the kids have enjoyed the holiday to the max with the animation team. They are lovely and know how to work with kids.
★☆☆☆☆ Very disappointing experience and certainly not what I would expect from a 4-star hotel. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. Despite the high temperatures, the AC was not available throughout the day and appeared to operate only during limited hours. The room became extremely uncomfortable for long periods, which significantly affected my stay. I also experienced a serious privacy concern when a housekeeping staff member entered my room without knocking. To make matters worse, there was no “Do Not Disturb” sign available in the room, and my request for one was ignored. The room lacked basic amenities that are standard in most hotels, including bottled water, tissues, a kettle, and tea/coffee supplies. The towels had an unpleasant smell, raising concerns about housekeeping standards. When I raised these issues with reception, I was told that a room change might be possible, but no clear action was taken. Overall, I felt that complaints were acknowledged but not effectively resolved. The hotel’s location may be good, but the service quality, room comfort, and attention to guest concerns fell far below the standard expected from a hotel claiming a 4-star rating. I would not choose to stay here again unless significant improvements are made. To make matters worse, even after requesting replacement towels, the newly provided towels were still visibly stained and appeared worn. I have attached photos for reference. While the hotel may consider them clean, this level of housekeeping is not what guests would reasonably expect from a 4-star property. Combined with the air-conditioning issues, lack of basic amenities, and poor handling of guest concerns, this has significantly impacted the quality of my stay.
Concise, Clear & Impactful Review If you’re booking this hotel based on the photos, please don’t. Several of the advertised facilities simply do not exist — including the “wellness centre” shown in photo 73, which was abandoned and closed when we arrived. When we visited, the hotel owner was actually in jail for fraud, and part of the hotel was derelict. I’m an early riser and like to explore on the first morning, but what I found was shocking: broken facilities, closed areas, and a general lack of maintenance everywhere. Major Issues Wellness centre: Completely abandoned and not operational, despite being advertised. Slides: Didn’t work for an entire week. Cleanliness: The hotel was filthy, and complaints were brushed off. Food: Extremely poor quality — I even lost weight during the stay. Condition: The whole place needs a serious update and full refurbishment. Positives The staff were the only saving grace. They were genuinely brilliant and couldn’t do enough for guests (even without tipping). Special mentions: Sunbed Sam at the slides pool — outstanding. Chef Jack at the snack bar — excellent. Barman Bill — fantastic service. Rooms: Acceptable and reasonably maintained. Overall Despite the great staff, this is not a good hotel. The condition, cleanliness, and misleading advertising make it somewhere I would never return to. We stayed for 10 days, and that was more than enough. This hotel needs a complete overhaul before it should be sold to guests again
I booked with on the beach and I've got to say its very deceiving, the hotel is over one hour away from the airport, the hotel reception staff are terribly ignorant and the rooms are disgusting, no kettle, no toilet roll for 4 days in a row although fresh towels were brought daily. No replacement of the 4 glasses we used at all, air conditioning is useless and its just generally out dated. The random furniture dotted around the place is filthy, everything is sticky and generally mucky. There is absolutely no atmosphere in the evening and the ala cart restaurant looks like an old army canteen if and when its open, the cocktails are pathetic and served in a child's plastic cup which is strange as they serve glasses at the beach and pool area, Be careful down the beach as there is constant locals trying to sell you a load of rubbish, if you make eye contact you've had it, its relentless hassle. The food is absolutely shocking, anything left over for days on end is recycled, bland and inedible, they can't even get the chips right, we ended up having to eat out every night at the marina which is stunning and a 7 minute taxi away for approximately £3/£5 English pounds and the food prices were incredible, 2 bottles of wine, 2 starters and 2 fillet steaks would set you back around £50. I want to say a massive shout out to Ryan the waiter on the beach, he is incredible and I never went to the bar once as he wouldn't let me, great friendly guy and that's without a tip. I'd recommend paying a little bit extra and avoiding this old and dirty out of date hotel especially if your English and want a bit of decent food. I've given it 2 stars rather than 1 as the beer is good and the waiter at the beach.
It is a very good hotel, atmsosphere is very friendly, rooms are clean, food and restaurant are on good level. Hotel is located in a quiet area so it is perfect for families with children. We especially wanted to thank the animator,Luka! He's a nice and friendly guy. He's the best animator there, and thanks to him, we felt like home. He has a great approach to people and is proffesional in what he does. Thanks to him it was the best vacation we've ever had! Thank you Luka!!!
It was a nice stay in quiet location by the beach. Atmosphere was friendly. GREAT RECOGNITION ESPECIALLY FOR ONE ANIMATOR LUKA so fun and helpful. He did much more work than animations usually do. Thanks him we felt the spirit of Tunisia. Our room was good too, large and spacious but the hotel could do more about cleaning especially corridors. Food was tasty, waiters friendly. Swimming pool in good condition . Astonish view from balkony.
I've been on family holidays several times, but this was the first time I met such a nice, friendly and energetic group of animators. With great energy and pleasure they helped to make every moment more pleasant from morning to night -> pool games, sports, shows and dancing. Special mention for animator LUKA - our super friend. Private beach, location, food... is very good
We read some bad reviews before coming and was worried we choose wrong but we found this hotel to be great! Myself, my husband & our 15 year old daughter stayed here 26th May for one week. ALL the staff are so friendly & helpful, they work so hard to make your holiday as good as possible. We found the hotel very clean although slightly dated. The hotel is very big with plenty of places to chill out. The restaurants are nice, we thought the food was delicious and plenty of variety to choose from, their Gala dinner was magnificent on the Saturday evening. The waiters are very friendly. We thought the all inclusive wine & beer were fine but the cocktails in the all inclusive section was bit rubbish ( I added my own vodka i bought from the airport duty free to my drinks & my husband bought his own spiced rum because we knew they didn’t have any ) their locally produced spirits weren’t strong but they are a country that don’t drink alcohol. There is a non all inclusive section which we didn’t try. The pools are nice, one deep, one shallow, a kids very shallow & in a different area there is a pool with watersides. The very friendly animation team are full on with activities like volleyball, waterpolo, darts, bowls, aqua aerobics, stretching exercises etc..during the day, doing their dance routines around the pool encouraging people to participate ( not too pushy though) also a kids club. They do play music throughout the day with occasional quiet times, The shallow area is shaded well with palm trees. The deep end is full on sun. The first part of our week was out of season so some things weren’t open but June onwards the Evening entertainment got better & the beach bar opened. The beach is literally next to you so you can either get sun loungers by the pool or beach and still use both areas. Yes! people do get up early to reserve their fave sun loungers round the pool from around 6/7am, the life guard will get you the sun lounger cushions if you ask him. You can hire pool towels with a deposit, we took our own. We asked to change our room after the first night because our daughter found the sofa bed too hard for her back so they happily gave us an upgraded room overlooking the pool & beach without any quibble. You can change money up at the hotel reception at same rate as bank. The hotel shop sells most things, inflatable etc.. including SIM cards if you need one. We bought a 25GB for €25 or there is a 8GB for €15. The hotel does have WiFi is all areas but we found it a little hit & miss in some areas like the pool & beach, so a SIM card was useful for us & to go outside with too. The security team just outside the hotel can order you a taxi very quickly. We got a taxi a couple of times to the Port El Kantaoui & Mall of Sousse, the taxi driver gives you their card for you to call them to collect you after which we found useful. We did the 4X4 quad bikes, you can book trips with the nice man Alibaba at the hotel who will introduce himself to you on your first day, he walks around the pool area occasionally so you can catch him if you want to book trips. We didn’t use the spa so can’t comment. The private beach part belonging to the hotel is kept clean with security there too. There is water sports further along the beach. I think I’ve covered most things. Happy holidays, I hope you find this hotel as pleasant as we did.
The staff were nice. The ac didn't work when it was 33 degrees all week we asked every day for them too put it on and they said no. It got too a point where me and my boyfriend had too go buy a fan from a shop too help us sleep. We also had too sleep with the balcony door wide open. We were all getting food and my boyfriend's mum got some chicken, it was red RAW she went and complained and they asked why she took it of display,1 why is there food for display not cooked anyway anyone could accidentally take that. And there was no food in display it was all in the food containers u have too open. The showered went from hot and cold every 2 seconds quite literally. Entertainment is okay and the beach is lovely. They do try scam you with things on the beach though- paragliding, jetskiing thingd like that. Also the water park wasn't open even tho the website said it was.
Great animation team, got everyone involved during the day and evening
Absolutely fantastic holiday The whole entertainment team really made the holiday especially Sarah who made elara feel part of the team every night Thank you ♥️
It's our last day today. Back to reality tomorrow. I would like to thank everyone who made us feel so welcomed. We loved every minute of our holiday. The animation team... I just love you guys!!!Gigi , Baki, Momo, Djapa..Thank you!!!! 😘😘😘 All the waiters, chefs. Beautiful people, Hicham from the Bar, I'm not gonna forget to mention you!! 😘😘😘 Thank you for making our holiday so memorable!! Rooms are at good standard, hotel is clean, cleaning lady is absolutely amazing. I can't fault anything or anyone!!
I loved this hotel so much, lots to do and the restaurant was lovely! The animation team were amazing, always happy and putting on excellent shows! Would recommend
The place is just hyped up to nothing compared too what you hope and expect it be! On arrival, reception area is very, very run down! Bedrooms are not much better, dated and run down too! The mixer tap shower cord was too short to be able to have a decent shower! Complained and changed! The balcony was was a a height my toddler to climb up on, never mind the wood rotten I.to the bargain! My baby girl was picking and pulling it off all week, as it was just falling to bits anyway! The food was ok if you were only wanting to eat pizza and chips! I'm pretty sure all the food from each meal timethat wasn't eaten, was recycled into next days food! It was blended into burge kebab skews and soup! Never mind the uneaten chicken nuggets from the night before were put into the next night's desert area with chocolate sauce all over then!! Absolutely putrid....how anyone can give this hotel above a 2 or 3 star are completely delusional! Never mind there was absolutely no entertainment at night but was advertised as so when we booked!!!! Pay that bit extra to get a much better hotel!
The hotel is lovely and the animation team is dynamic all the time and smiling and the pool and the food is so good
Another awesome time at this hotel. Was only a fleeting 3 night visit. Not been here in almost 2 years, and although some things have changed, like the stage area, the vibe and staff were still awesome. The beach bar wasn't open, but will be soon. The food was good with plenty of variation, waiters both at the bars and restaurant were polite and happy, especially saif and Khalid...were some others but I dont remember their names. The new animation team were such fun, with plenty of daytime activities, group dances around the pool, stretching, zumba, darts, boule, volleyball all, ping pong. Gigi the kids club animation, is still here and still amazing as ever. The cheif "slimfast" is very energetic, engaging and fun, and his team, Hana, Dali, Khalil, Momo, sara, 2 new guys arrived today as i was leaving, who seemed great too but didnt catch their names.... they did some brilliant shows, with break dancing, Mr Hotel ,currently downstairs in the disco, only downside is the heat in there and the bar wasn't open, and had to go upstairs, although there was waiter service. The room was fine, although we appeared to have the only room without a hair dryer in it...which reception staff did not belive us about...and even came to check ... but didn't rectify. Pool lifeguard , sami, is still so kind and helpful, getting cushions for the beds. The slide pool and snack bar are not open yet, but will be soon...there are snacks available in the a la carte restaurant though. Talking of which, the food in there was amazing, I had the chicken and cous cous....so much food for me but was delicious , and it was a lovely atmosphere, you have to reserve minimum of 24 hours prior, our waiter was called Nafoul. Didn't have room cleaned, as own choice but saw lots of maids around all the time, working hard. There is Alibaba, selling trips, a lady doing beautiful henna tattoos, a photographer and small shop, selling trinkets and essentials, plus jewellery. The guest relations manager was efficient and knowledgeable. Beautiful location right on the beach, with plenty of sunbeds (like with the pool area).
I really recommend the hotel they have great animators and a great team of staffs the food is amazing everyone is always happy and has a smile i highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a great experience and a good time
Amazing animation and entertainment team, Highly Recommend 😊
First of all I’ll highlight this is not my first holiday to this continent nor this country. However, this will be my last trip to Tunisia. This hotel certainly isn’t the 4* it is advertised as, more of a 2*+ On arrival we paid the tourist tax which we were aware of prior to landing, no problem. We then filled out the visitor visa type sheets for each guest. (Time consuming when there is 6 of you) we were told at 11:30am that if we went and had a drink in the bar and headed for lunch, our room would be ready for when we got back. 1pm comes with a very unhappy baby who was hot & tired from travelling, still no room. We sat in reception with a screaming baby waiting for our rooms for another 30 mins. There appears to be no rush for check in. Wheelchair and pushchair users beware, this isn’t a completely accessible hotel, access to the pool from any direction is only via steps which is a nightmare. First full day, we have breakfast and then head to reception to ask about pool towels. Reception tells us they are located at the spa and are charged at 20DT per towel. We go to spa and are told they are 30DT and have gone up in price since last week. Firstly this is the only hotel I’ve known that charge for towels (however it is refunded on last day) most other hotels have a chip or towel card which you are given at check in. This is a gateway for towel theft more than anything else. The all inclusive here is a rip off really. The local beer is fine but the bar is just bottled local spirits and these are served in plastic beakers or card board cups. Never have I been served cocktails like this before. Some of the drinks aren’t included in the all inclusive either. The food is mediocre and can get repetitive quickly. The desserts are good however. I can imagine that in the busy summer months the buffet restaurant is a nightmare as there just doesn’t appear to be anywhere near enough food stations for the amount of guests. This results in lengthy queues which resemble school dinner lines. There is one bar serving drinks for the whole hotel (outside of the dinner restaurant) so if you’re at the beach be prepared to walk back to the hotel for a drink) there is no food available outside of set meal times either. So much for all inclusive. Definitely the worst I have ever been to. Ali baba (excursion rep) oh lord, how I didn’t lose my temper with him just on day one I will never know. He is relentless, an actual pest and he will harass you. He also charges well above average, please look elsewhere for a better deal. Animation team, well this was great the day of arrival and day one. Very friendly and have a lot of good interaction with the kids. However, the head of animation got a little to over friendly with my 18 year old daughter to the point she felt very uncomfortable which has left her feeling anxious at his presence. Also not a lot going on around the pool just an hour in the morning and the afternoon. The pool isn’t big enough to accommodate the amount of guests. There are no toilets around the pool or on the beach which means a long walk back to your room or into the hotel. Please please do your research on tourist attractions outside of the hotel, today we got in two taxis to port el katoui (agreed price) 20Dt, been left the hotel 5 mins, taxis pulled over to say the port was closed until the afternoon and that it would be better for us to go to Monastir. (Please note the port is open daily from 10am) We were shown a brochure of the marina there etc which appealed. He said we should go to a shopping centre first. We were driven to a single shop where we were shown leather garment making, we were then told to look at the gifts available and we would be given a good price. (Note nothing in this shop was priced) We let the children choose some small gifts. We got to the till and were asked for 640TD my husband said no as this was ludicrous. He then tried to haggle with my husband for 15 mins to the point we put a lot of the gifts back and spent 120TD. It made me feel very uncomfortable at the pushy sales techniques. He then followed us out and still badgered us to buy more. When my husband said no, he told us to f**k off. We believe these taxi drivers deliberately took us here as they were friends or family members. Advice is to 100% stick to the tourist areas only and do not get sucked into this. Also when we got back the drivers tried to charge double what they had agreed. We did not pay this. (Note, day one go for a walk into the street outside and you will find a little gift shop down some stairs, the stuff we got robbed 120DT for at the shop above, we would have paid 50DT max for here) The hotel it’s self is slightly run down, the carpets throughout need to be ripped out as they smell terrible (we described it as the same smell as a cat litter tray) the bathrooms and a lot of the hotel have a sewage smell which is off putting. The hotel its self lacks atmosphere, no music in the lobbies and on wet days families are just sitting around with nothing to really do. There are no tea & coffee facilities in the room and the mini fridge is empty and you have to get your own bottled water from the bar. Coke etc is CHARGED extra! The shop within the hotel is charging 4-7DT more than the little gift shop down the road. Please make the short walk there for much better deals. The hotel also smells like sewage 90% of the time which is very off putting when you are heading for meals. I’m not sure why this is but it’s awful. Good points however, the waiting staff in the restaurant are very attentive and will do anything for you with a smile. Please tip them generously as they earn very little here. Achref the hotel photographer is also a really lovely guy, sat and chatted to us day one and we asked him about pictures etc and we booked to have these done. He is really good at his job and is just a genuinely lovely person. He came to chat with us every day and will be a friend for life. Please book with him for some lovely memories. Remember to spend all money you have changed to Tunisian currency before getting through security at the airport as this is a closed currency and you cannot take it into duty free, it will be confiscated. Overall I am really disappointed with this holiday and I will not be returning to Tunisia.
We visited this resort during Easter holidays and we felt there were lots of elements that felt like such a let down. Let me start with the positives first. The staff were very friendly and polite. Resort looks immaculate and poolside is very relaxing. The beach is conveniently located just behind the outdoor pool. To top it off, the food was delicious. In addition the hotel is conveniently located near the local bazaar and malls. Now for the negative experience we had. Room had no AC, although we were told it did. At night it got so hot we had to open the balcony doors and you would get mosquito and bugs creep through. We did ask for a fan as we have a toddler and after asking several times, they kept saying they will check for us tomorrow. We never got that fan. Secondly, entertainment was non existence. They did do water aerobics, darts and other beachside sports but in the evening there was no real performance or entertainment. Other than the same European nursery rhymes and disco for kids. So don't expect any entertainment that includes any form of performance. For example no magicians, dancers or anything of that sort. The last let down, after all this, the pool was freezing cold. Despite temperatures of 25 to 26 degrees. The pool was absolutely freezing. The pumps were all switched off during our stay and we did raise this several times. Just as well the waterside was closed for maintenance. My advice, it's not too bad of a place but if you can get it at a bargain, it's worth visiting. I wouldn't pay a lot like we did. Also keep good amount of tipping money as waiters and waitresses will be more inclined to look after you. Thank you for reading.
Our trip at El Ksar was indeed a memorable one, at first after reading the reviews before our trip, I must say I was a bit sceptical but on arriving until we left, it was nothing like the reviews we read. It was fun, entertaining, animation team was amazing with the children especially GiGi, she made the kids felt at easy and comfortable with her right away. She had the kids couple of times while we went for our hammam. By the way, best hammam I have ever had, I wish my skin stay this way..clean and smooth for ever m😅! The kitchen staffs were so helpful and friendly all the time even going extra mile to decorate a table for our special birthday dinner for the kids. Thank you Team El Ksar, I will surely come again if given the chance🥰🥳
Mini club my family loved it, Gigi has been super amazing, very playful and atleast we got a chance to leave kids with her and step out adult alone. Gigi, we really appreciate you, we will miss your vibes All staff to be honest was super amazing, we had lovely table with deco (requested), and their charming and service ❤️ 😍
We had the pleasure of meeting Ashraf, the photographer at El Ksar Resort & Thalasso, during our stay, and we highly recommend his services! Ashraf is extremely professional, while also being very friendly and positive. He creates a relaxed atmosphere, so even people who are not comfortable in front of the camera can feel at ease and look great in photos. He has a great eye for detail, perfect timing, and fantastic ideas for shots. The photos he took for us are absolutely beautiful – full of emotion, natural, and perfectly capturing the holiday vibe in Tunisia. They are a wonderful souvenir that we will cherish for a long time. If you have the chance to book a session with him during your stay, don’t hesitate – it’s definitely worth it!
Actually The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Food was good with a decent variety, though a bit repetitive after a few days. The best part was the animation —super fun and energetic team, with great daytime activities and amazing night shows that made the stay really enjoyable. Overall, a great place if you’re looking for a fun and lively vacation.
really good entertainment good animation I like the hotel the pool and beach very nice
Arrived at hotel staff very unpleasant I paid for all inclusive and because I am Tunisian they put me on a different band to everyone else which wasn't needed, rooms was very old and outdated and also when we left the room and came back in the room would have a bad odour, food was disgusting always cold and also the staff didn't know I was Tunisian and the words they was saying towards people was very appalling, day and Night entertainment wasn't really much and the manager of the actual team he was unprofessional and made the animation like slaves, we played bingo 40 dinar and won but the prize they gave us was a mug which was worth 7dinar I will never come back to this hotel again, also if you plan to stay in bed later than 7am then avoid because always something going on around hearing every noise possible
There is so much to say about El Ksar. Both myself and the wife had an amazing time here, claiming this as our best holiday to date and will be returning in the forthcoming future. Check in: This was a challenge at first due to finding out we can't check in till 2pm, which was fine until our room was not ready till 25 mins later after the time to check in. Besides this, these guys were very helpful with other queries so not a bad start! Room: Amazing sea view with the balcony, spacious double room and daily towels/room clean which was amazing. We created a "towel war" with our cleaner and decided to create some towel animals for fun! A tip goes a long way, so please feel free to do so if you are able to. Food: for myself, the buffet restaurant hit the spot for each meal, and the tunisian cuisines were very tasty. Massive shoutout to the two waiters (i didnt get their names) who looked after us, always made sure our drinks were topped up, even when i was looking away. They know exactly who they are, and are so kind and humble they have my biggest respect, i hope them the best in life! My wife enjoyed some foods, although she did experience some tummy upset on one occasion, which meant she had to eat out until her stomach was better. Likely due to changes in water. There were plenty of options available, and the menu does change daily. We did not try the A La carte restaurant on ground level so we cannot comment on this. For the all inclusive benefit, you definitely get your moneys worth with all the good drinks at the bar/machines. Entertainment: The animation team were superstars at keeping us tourists entertained, shout out to Deeno (with the cap!) For sorting out our prizes for winning bingo/tombola, DJ Ramos for being amazing at what he does, both music and bringing a smile to our faces, Rico for showing us the best dance moves and his good heart, Shibaru (sorry if I spelt this wrong!) Aka Shooting star for his talented dancing at the disco night, and what i nicknamed as Mr Zumba (leads the zumba and other activities) for showing us some cool dance moves and making our night. There may be more but they are all amazing! Excursions booking: Ahmed (aka Ali baba) loves his daily steps, you will catch him everywhere at the resort and will catch you to book some excursions, can't fault his salesmanship and can arrange quads, boat trips, camel riding etc. Definitely worth booking but don't be afraid to haggle! Overall, this is my honest account of El Ksar, and we have enjoyed our time massively. We will miss the friendships created, the ups and downs and everyone that made our trip the best! Inshallah we will return once again Tips: Download Indrive for reliable taxis to anywhere you need, and Glovo for food delivery (like uber eats)
Great stay at el ksar hotel nice atmosphere friendly staff and good facilities special thanks to dj ramos for the amazing music and vibes everyday and nights Highly recommended
Amazing hotel , friendly staffs The best security
Really good experience, weather was amazing all good from my part . the DJ foued was amazing as well as all the staff. food wise, too much beef and lamb didn’t switch up the menu but all good other than that
We stayed for 9 nights in the off-season (March), and here is a comprehensive and fair review, taking into account the price and expectations before booking. The PROS Excellent location. The beach is around 50 yards from the hotel. You have upmarket shops to the left and right of the resort front, including KFC if your children aren’t enjoying the hotel food. There are also fantastic gelato spots and cafés. The staff were incredible. Our cleaner was so friendly and radiated happiness every morning. The star of the show was Burhan, our waiter. He made every meal for the kids a wonderful experience. His smile was constant, and he genuinely looked like he enjoyed and cared about his job and the guests. The resort. Although dated and definitely in need of a revamp, you can see it is massive and has many things for families to do. We came in the off-season, so many of the facilities were closed. It would have been nice for Thomas Cook to make this clearer, rather than a small statement we saw after booking. The indoor pool was always at 30 degrees, so it was fabulous to swim in bath-like conditions. The CONS The rooms need an update. Although spacious, old TVs, slow WiFi, and worn showers take the shine off the incredible sea view we had. The food was not a family favourite. I can’t say if it was poor quality as we’re not used to Tunisian cuisine, but it was no better than our stays in Marrakech or Hurghada. For European guests, it may be worth adding food children are more familiar with. Beach seller. This guy needs to be banned as he’s constantly harassing guests. I understand the need to sell, but a stall where people can come by choice would be better. Excursion seller (Ali Baba). As usual, he pushes for quick sales before you find a better deal. No doubt he’s paying commission to the hotel and travel agency, but you can find the same excursions for half the price with a quick Google search. Some tips from me Download Airalo for your SIM—easy to connect on arrival. Download inDrive for taxis—good fares and helps avoid getting scammed. Download Glovo for food shopping and takeaways—similar to Uber Eats and Just Eat. Finally, tip well. These guys don’t make much, and you’ll build great relationships by helping them out. Be open-minded and understand their culture is different—once you embrace it, you’ll enjoy yourself far more than you expect. With all the negative reviews, one thing you don’t hear enough is that the area is safe. In 9 days, we saw no trouble—just people and families going about their day and enjoying life. We didn’t witness a single crime, and we walked around until 1am without any issues. Scammers exist in every country, but ask your hotel staff beforehand and they’ll happily tell you how to avoid them. Enjoy your holiday—you’ve earned it.
Very disappointed with this stay. My family and I stayed for 7 nights. On the 2nd night I requested to speak with the manager. The unfriendly lady receptionist asked ‘what is it for’ in a rude manner. After calling the manager, I asked if the had a sister hotel that we could be moved to but unfortunately they didn’t. The beds were so hard we hardly slept. The manager did offer to change the room which I appreciated but the beds were only slightly better. Socket ms hanging off the wall, walls crumbing, hair absolutely everywhere, the terrible shower blasting cold water every now and then, no variety of food, lifts randomly stopping whilst you’re in it, brown water coming from the taps and shower, damaged bath, gym equipment in bad condition, door frames coming apart, the snack between 11pm and 12 midnight is leftover food from during the day, damaged chairs in the dining room and so much more. The male waiters were fantastic, very attentive and polite. The waitresses were unfriendly, rarely cracked a smile and didn’t seem like they wanted to be there. The entertainment team were also fantastic even though it was a quiet period. Ali Baba was a gem. Without him, our stay would have been worse. He is so funny, very helpful and we booked fun excursions via him. So many others had the same complaints. We were so happy to be leaving and getting our flight back home. We met some people on our excursions from different hotels and they were explaining how great their hotel was. Wish I booked the Occidental or Mahaba hotel which is practically next door.
This was a fantastic holiday made extra special by the excellent entertainment team, who made me feel special every day. As a retired woman travelling alone, I was a bit wary, but the ENTS boys made a point of including me, and spending time with me every single day! The kids also seemed to love them, and would follow them around the hotel. They have a difficult job as they are trying to entertain toddlers right up to teenagers, but they did it with smiles on their faces! I would go back to this hotel just for them, but tbh all the staff were friendly, my room was massive and the beds comfortable. Clean towels every day. Yes it's a bit dated in some areas, but not where it counts. The food was exceptional, so much so that I am going to try to source some Tunisian recipes to try go recreate some dishes. Great hotel, lovely people and a fantastic holiday!
Nice clean and beautiful hotel. The hotel is situated in front of the beach, good location for a relaxing holiday. There were lots of activities daily like yoga and dance course.
Was treated very nicely by the people at the hotel and entertainers, a lot of fun and games at the hotel
We spent 5 days at this resort. The staff were fantastic, Very friendly and helpful, they made our stay memorable. The food was great, a lot of choice and the service was good. The 'animation team' worked so hard to make the stay memorable. Well done to all!
Lovely location. Amazing friendly welcoming staff. Highly recommended
I stayed for 8 nights. The best days of my life were spent at this hotel. Excellent service. Wonderful tranquility. Services I haven't seen in any other hotels in Tunisia. Oh my God, the food was absolutely amazing! Thank you to the hotel staff. I will never forget you.
El Ksar is a fanatic resort. This is my 5th time returning. Gigi is a huge reason for this, Gigi is absolutely incredible with my little boy she has made my son feel at ease and supervised him during his time at the kids club. Gigi you are one in a million MashAllah
The reception was good at the beginning, the room was clean and overlooked the sea, the food was average, everything was available, the hotel staff were always smiling, and the disco at night with good music was great. طThe initial reception was good, the room was clean and overlooked the sea, the food was average, everything was available, the hotel staff were always smiling, and there was a good disco at night with music and a tourist entertainment group. Thank you very much for the welcome. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰
> I would like to thank El Ksar Resort & Thalasso Sousse for the overall quality of the hotel, especially in terms of location, cleanliness, and service standards. I visited in November as a couple, and many staff members were professional, helpful, and respectful in their attitude toward guests. However, regarding the animation team, the activities were very limited during this period and not at the expected level compared to the summer season. I would also like to mention a staff member named Zizo: pressuring guests to write positive reviews is not a professional practice. Constructive feedback is essential for improving service quality. I hope these remarks will be taken into consideration and that the current issues will be addressed
It's a good hotel with a exelent stuf and animation team and cleaning team . The best hottel in tunusia i recomend it for everyone
It was a wonderful experience. I liked the hotel; it's the best hotel in Tunisia. The reception was lovely, the pool was beautiful, and the gym was good with the trainer Aziz and the musicians were good.
Arrived at airport in Tunisia only to find out that hotel was 150km away so was looking at hour/half trip on bus which meant arrived at hotel 1130pm . Booking in reception was hit with tourists tax £20 wasn't a problem as knew about it.Hotel was quite run down worn out carpets and tired decor .Room was clean air con was poor . Bathroom was very old and needed a revamp.common areas inc bar & restaurant was ok . food was ok 👍 something different everyday as well as the usual .Beer was in small glass which meant for me two at a time .Waiters and cleaners were excellent 👌 friendly and extremely helpful.Heads up if you want to visit the town & market.Hotel security will get you a taxi but it's a con as driver is known to them friend or family .He will take you to town but you end up at a big shop run by friends or family and he insists that it's good 👍 as market conveniently is closed that day .BIG CON .so be aware !!!!! Also fare from hotel to town should be 10 Tunisia Dina but they will try to charge you 15/20 or even £10 which is far more expensive 🫰 than the locals pay . Market was as you would expect everyone selling same stuff fake sports wear etc etc and you get harassed at every stall . Ruining the experience.walking in town people will approach you being very friendly saying hello remember me I'm from hotel on there day off and they will try to guide you to a jewelry shop.Be Strong and firm and let them know not interested otherwise they will drive you nuts . Everywhere in sousse is run down and typical of a third world country.i went purely for the winter sunshine and normally wouldn't bother with town as only went for a week .But wished I didn't bother and stayed in resort.wont.be going back as not impressed with the place visited.im sure other towns might be better but gut feeling is probably all the same.Hope this helps by just making you aware of the scams etc etc ...
This hotel is shabby and we were lucky to find a plate in the restaurant. The food wasn’t allergy marked . The staff were mostly okay and the location is lovely. Kids entertainment team were good.
First family holiday and have to say it'll be a hard one too beat, out of season so not many hotel attractions where available but in know way made this trip any less than exceptional thanks to gigi the animation team, gamel riding and pirate boat party where great and cheap. (Everything offered costs money during excursions generally 10dinar) Hotel was amazing the front desk upgraded us to a better room when they realised there was 5 of us and then offered to move us when a leak happened outside the room, the waiting staff (the tall chap and friend) was amazing and made memories the children will always remember, security looked after us on the beach and made sure we wasn't bothered by local hagglers Will be back again in the near future. Thank you to the front desk, animation team, waiters and chefs, security.
The hotel is beautiful, I liked it a lot, it's very large, the food is good, the atmosphere is good, the animation is good, the hotel was very nice all the time we were there
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Everything was beautiful; the room was good, the food was good too, the evenings were lovely with music, and in the mornings there was plenty of exercise. Thank you to my friend.zizuo

WOW! What an unforgettable stay at El Ksar Hotel! 🤩✨ From the moment I arrived until the very last minute, everything was PERFECT. The hotel is beautiful, the vibe is amazing, and the staff is simply wonderful — always smiling, kind, and ready to help. But the real stars of my trip were the animation team! 🌟 They brought so much energy, joy, and fun every single day. Each one of them is talented in their own way, and they truly made my vacation unforgettable. A HUGE shout-out to Jiji and Aymen — you two are absolute LEGENDS! 🙌🔥 Your positivity, humor, and warm personalities made every activity special. Thank you for making me laugh, dance, and enjoy every moment. You really made my stay magical! The hotel is also perfect for families — even my daughter LOVED it! 💛 She had so much fun with the activities, the ambiance, and especially the animation team. Seeing her happy made the trip even more special for me. The waiters were incredibly kind, attentive, and always smiling. The cooks did an OUTSTANDING job — the food was delicious, varied, and beautifully presented every single day. You can feel the love and effort they put into everything they serve. Truly, bravo to the whole kitchen team! 👨🍳👩🍳👏 I 100% recommend El Ksar Hotel and I can’t wait to come back! 💛🌴✨
Me 2nd visit here and without a doubt will be returning . Great staff as always , super helpful and nice . Room was as described and cleaned daily . Food options are many choices and change daily . Entertainment crew “ zizou”offer many activities for all ages . Would definitely be returning 🤩
All staff we're very rude. We had 3 different rooms due to cleanliness, they were dirty and with had a smell of urine, the TVs didn't work, the bath was filthy (whole bathroom), glasses were all filthy, wardrobe smelt mouldy and was dirty and the whole room was just dirty and had not been cleaned for a long time and had old stains from previous guests. No safe and no lock on patio doors, as well as air con unit leaking. The restaurant wasnt much better, no cutlery or napkins. The tablecloths were wet, and I asked the waiter for cutlery and napkins, he looked at me as if I was putting him out. He came back and slammed the cutlery down and threw the napkins on the table, which were dirty along with the tablecloth. One day relaxing on sunloungers and the entertainment guys were playing with a football, the ball, we hit my husband in the face, they didn't move and it then hit me. The pool was filthy too with broken tiles, black mould around the edges.
First of all, the hotel reception was lovely, the room was nice, the housekeeping was good, the sea and pool were nice, the food was average but good, the evening entertainment was nice, and the children's entertainment was good. Thank you. Zizou Ali is on vacation, so come sit with us and talk to us.
I really liked the reception, the room was average but nice, the food was good, and the animation team was very nice, especially the character named Zizou The person is wonderful and kind The sea is good and the swimming pool is large.
Its a great hitel with a great rooms and a perfect service and the food its so good, the animation too perfect and the view of the rooms with poole and beach its great
Absolutely fabulous time at el ksar! We came in November so some things were closed for the season. But the quiet was nice, not lots of people. We came with 4 kids, all the staff were so kind and friendly with us and the kids. Especially the animation team! Absolutely loved the food too, so much selection and something different every day. The rooms were clean and nice and cleaned regularly. I was skeptical because of some of the bad reviews. Absolutely not true. It is a really lovely place. And the beach is beautiful. You can arrange activities such a camel riding, quad biking, and a ride on a ship. We also went on jetskis and a banana boat. All available on the beach. A magical experience for the while family.
