Solo woman spending 4 nights in this boutique hotel. Absolutely charmed by caring staff. Felt I actually WAS a guest. Delighted with my room over looking pool...large balcony.... The linens, the toiletries, the lighting...This place knows how to deliver an understated, first rate experience. Hotel and grounds are carefully maintained. Breakfast buffet; you'll be satisfied, pleased AND attentively cared for. Lunch in the shade, overlooking the garden with its swimming pool; served with great attention, and savor faire. Yes, transportation to dinners was arranged, as was pick up/ return to the port.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The pool was beautiful! The breakfast was fabulous.

An exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel is even more beautiful in person than it appears in the pictures,with truly stunning nature. Everything is beautifully maintained and thoughtfully designed. The staff were warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel at home while still enjoying a luxurious and peaceful atmosphere. A truly special place.Highly recommended!

Nous avons eu un vrai coup de coeur pour La Orsa Maggiore! En premier, pour tous ses membres: Antonella, Silvia, Luisa, Marika, Franco, Pietro, Luigi (ainsi que le réceptionniste de nuit très gentil mais que nous avons moins côtoyé et l'adorable femme de chambre)! Des personnes vraiment bienveillantes et chaleureuses, que nous espérons revoir bientôt! Ensuite, le cadre est vraiment superbe!! Dans ma chambre avec vue Mer et petit Jardin fleuri (sans oublier le chant des cigales!), j'étais au Paradis ❤️ La piscine est magnifique et régénérante, très accessible, un vrai bonheur! Nous avons régulièrement apprécié les plats servis près de la piscine (de 12:00 à 16:00) ou en chambre (de 16:00 à 20:00) préparés par Franco, Pietro et Marika! De la nourriture saine, locale et goûteuse! Enfin, même si on est quand même un peu loin du centre d'Anacapri, Luigi nous emmenait le plus souvent possible jusque Capri ou Anacapri, gratuitement et avec le sourire et venait aussi nous rechercher au Port de Marina Grande après nos excursions. Toujours une joie de le revoir quand nous arrivions, fatiguées, après les visites! Ils nous manquent tous déjà beaucoup ❤️

Je n'ai qu'une chose à mentionner, concernant l'accessibilité. Il n'y a pas d'ascenseur mais un escalier menant au premier étage, problématique pour les personnes ayant des soucis de mobilité. Il faut alors bien veiller à réserver des chambres au rez de chaussée mais pas de soucis, elle sont superbes, elles aussi!

The hotel was like a relaxing therapy destination which was exactly what we needed. The staff were so kind, friendly & efficient and we will be returning.

The hotel is located in Anacapri on the way to Grotta Azzura almost at the far end of the Island. It is a 15 minute walk to Anacapri centre. The ambience of the hotel and the pool area are wonderful like a small piece of paradise. The landscaping of the hotel is wonderful. The staff of the hotel are very welcoming and knowledgeable. They also give lots of information about how to explore the island. The breakfast is nice and varied and the breakfast room / garden is really stylish with lovely plants. The rooms are clean, modern, fresh and spacious.

The main negative thing is that to get to paradise is not easy because transport in Capri isn't great since the whole island has 1 narrow road that allows 2 way traffic so its not safe to walk and its too hot in summer also. This means that you will need to factor in €40-€50 per trip in a taxi if you want to go anywhere besides Anacapri centre that you can walk to. There are little busses at €2.40 but people are squashed like sardines in them. To offset this cost the hotel have a little car that ferries guests around if prebooked however we weren't always able to use it either because they were busy collecting new arrivals at the port or because our departure was early. Given the choice I would still choose the hotel because its location is relaxing but its good to know you could be spending €150 per day on Taxis. The other negative is that no free water is provided on arrival. When asking you are simply directed to the tiny water bottle in the minibar that comes at quite a cost. I arrived unwell on my first day and couldn't leave the room so having no water wasn't fun. Its worth noting also that this is the first hotel that I've ever been to where they charge for the coffee pods in the room at €3 per pod. Coffee sachets and tea bags are free :)

Abbiamo trascorso quattro notti meravigliose all’Hotel Orsa Maggiore e possiamo dire senza dubbio che è stata una delle esperienze più belle vissute a Capri. L’hotel è immerso nella tranquillità di Anacapri, in una posizione perfetta per rilassarsi ma allo stesso tempo comodissima grazie all’eccellente servizio navetta che collega l’hotel al centro e al porto. La piscina è semplicemente splendida: un’oasi di pace con una vista meravigliosa, perfetta per rinfrescarsi dopo una giornata di mare. Le camere sono molto curate, gli ambienti eleganti e pulitissimi, e tutto il personale è sempre sorridente, professionale e disponibile. Anche il ristorante merita una menzione speciale: abbiamo pranzato in hotel e abbiamo mangiato benissimo, con piatti di qualità e un servizio impeccabile. Grazie al concierge abbiamo anche organizzato uno splendido tour privato in barca, un’esperienza davvero consigliata per scoprire Capri dal mare. Una nota di merito davvero speciale va a Luigi, che è stato molto più di un semplice autista. È stato un vero punto di riferimento durante tutto il soggiorno: sempre puntuale, elegante, disponibile e di una gentilezza rara. Oltre ad accompagnarci con grande professionalità, ci ha consigliato ottimi ristoranti, luoghi da visitare e tante piccole chicche che solo chi conosce davvero Capri può suggerire. La sua esperienza del territorio e la passione con cui svolge il suo lavoro hanno reso la nostra vacanza ancora più bella. Persone come Luigi rappresentano al meglio il significato della vera ospitalità. Grazie a tutto lo staff per aver reso il nostro soggiorno indimenticabile. Quando torneremo a Capri, la nostra scelta sarà senza alcun dubbio ancora l’Hotel Orsa Maggiore.

The hotel was amazing, with beautiful facilities, a relaxing atmosphere, and very friendly staff. The pool area was excellent, and a special thanks to Franco, who was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, the service was fantastic, and we had a wonderful experience.

The only disappointing part was the breakfast. Although breakfast was included in our booking, many basic items such as fried eggs, omelettes, fresh fruit, and some cakes required an additional charge. This wasn’t made clear beforehand and was unexpected for an included breakfast. It would be much better if these items were included or if the extra charges were communicated more clearly.

The gym and massage table are in the same room and it’s not much of a gym. Did a job for one workout but just be wary if thats important to you.

L’accueil professionnel et sympathique de tout le personnel. La gentillesse et la disponibilité. Le confort de la chambre. J’ai adoré la piscine et la possibilité de déjeuner au bord.

Rien à part peut être que j’aurais aimé qu’il y ait un restaurant pour dîner le soir et ne pas être obligé d’aller à Anacapri ou Capri.

From the moment you walk in. Not sure how it isn’t a 5 star! The entire staff is amazing. Loved our stay and didn’t want to leave. Perfect location nice a quiet, cozy room and views. Chefs kiss breakfast! Cant wait to return!

Tout, c’est la grande classe Italienne ! Un lieu de charme, très calme et chaleureux. Tout est fait pour le bien-être du client. La piscine est superbe, la vue est belle, le petit déjeuner est excellent et de qualité. Le personnel dans son ensemble est sympathique et disponible. Le petit plus la navette gratuite pour venir vous récupérer. Un séjour hors du temps sur l’île.

A very nice hotel with sea views and a pool. Easily walk into AnaCapri for shopping, history or food. Transfers by Luigi available. Excellent service, clean and amazing pool too.

This small hotel in Anacapri is a great place to stay if you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy a peaceful and beautiful setting. The hotel arranges pick up and drop off at the port. Our room had a deck with lounges, a table and a sea view. The pool is great in the afternoons, or you can go into Capri for hiking or shopping. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. Very enjoyable stay!

We really enjoyed the property. The staff was superb. very welcoming and ready to help on every situation. The hotel is small and charming. The rooms are new and very comfortable. our room had a beautiful sea view.

there is no dinner so you are obliged to go out. It was not a big deal.

Nice pool , beautiful view. Good breakfast and also very good food for lunch near the pool , the pastas are incredible good. A car will bring you to/from the marina grande, Capri center or in the city center of AnaCapri , that was cool. We recomand the property .

The rooms are a bit old , but still good. A bit noisy . Unfortunately we couldn t eat any fruit at breakfast cause had a strong masculine parfume smell , all along our stay, maybe the person that was cutting it doesn t used gloves … was literally all the time .

Absolutely beautiful hotel with lovely pool area. We loved our room with terrace overlooking the pool area. The best part tho was the staff, I will say this is the most wonderful hotel staff we have ever experienced. Always willing to help and even gave us daily free shuttles from the hotel

Impossible to fault as a base for exploring the length and breadth of the island which is beautiful. We were immediately given a wonderful welcome on arrival by Luigi and Louisa which set the tone for the whole week, with also Sylvia, Franco, Daniel, Giovanni (and the owner Toni) all being incredibly engaging and helpful at all times. Sylvia and Louisa on reception were very helpful suggesting where to have an evening meal, booking the restaurant and organising to be taken and collected whenever possible. They also gave great recommendations as to where to visit and how to get there. The room was excellent, very clean and comfortable with a large terrace with a gorgeous view across the Tyrrhenian sea towards Ischia. There is a lovely pool, towels are provided, also a bar with waiter service. There is a very convenient bus service which stops just outside the hotel which can take you to the Blue Grotto and also into Anacapri and on to Capri. It’s an easy 10minute walk to Anacapri though, and only about a 3km downhill walk to the Grotto. I’d suggest a torch for walking back from Anacapri at night. All in all a gem of a hotel with possibly the best staff we have ever met. We will definitely be staying again.

It is the kind of place you remember for years, when you want to let your shoulders down. It’s on top of the world, incredibly beautiful and quiet, away from the chaos of Capri but convenient to great restaurants and hikes. The staff and so kind and helpful. It is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in.

Abbiamo passato due notti all'Hotel Orsa Maggiore. L'esperienza ha superato le nostre aspettative. Una location bellissima e molto curata, immersa nella tranquillità più assoluta. La nostra camera, nonostante non avessimo aggiunto la vista mare, ce l'aveva eccome. Non solo, avevamo un vero e proprio giardino privato con tavolino e sdraio. Un paradiso! Colazione ricca e buonissima. Il servizio navetta da/per il porto è molto molto di più. Addirittura ci sono stati portati i bagagli al molo poco prima della partenza, permettendoci di godere pienamente dell'ultima giornata sull'isola. In ultimo, ma non per importanza, la gentilezza dello staff. Non semplice cortesia, ma un impegno costante nei confronti degli ospiti. Fantastici tutti, grazie!

Se proprio devo trovare un difetto, avrei preferito un materasso leggermente più rigido. Ma questo non toglie nulla alla meravigliosa esperienza che abbiamo fatto.

L'eleganza sobria della struttura e del giardino, la cortesia e la professionalità dello staff, il magnifico ed ampio terrazzo della camera affacciato sul mare e su tramonti incantati. La distanza dalla grande massa turistica è un altro plus.

The hotel is beautifully renovated, looks so much better than on the pictures! Would 100% recommend, also loved the complimentary pick up from the port. When the driver was available during the day, he took us where we wanted to. Breakfast is pretty amazing too :)

The location was great being able to walk to Anacapri center. The pool area was great. The view of the ocean was excellent.

Cosy, quiet and Lovely place. Staff amazing, really kind and helpful. Free shuttle to the port before/after. Pool amazing, breakfast correct. Location a bit far from Marina and capri, but we had a scooter so it was OK. But by foot, complicated.

Fantastiskt bemötande och service. De gjorde alltid det lilla extra vid varje tillfälle. Frukosten var väldigt god, det fanns val för alla. Poolområdet var lungt och trevligt.

Location is excellent for a relaxing vacation, convenient for Anacapri and the hotel offering transport to Capri and beyond if required. The staff who work at the hotel are superb, impressive impeccable -so helpful, knowledgeable and willing to help and advise in any way possible - a tremendous team. I’m naming names - Sylvia, Louisa, Franco, Luigi, Danielle - exceptional people. The hotel is immaculately clean, our room cleaned - fresh sheets and towels each day. A wonderful hotel and delighted we found it.

There was nothing we did not like about the property.

You can consider this hotel as your home. I never had such an experience in other hotel. The rooms are super spacious and clean with a garden and sea view and the staffs are so polite and helpful and well experienced . I would like to thank to Silvia and Luisa at reception . Both were amazing . Thanks for Franco . He was amazing guy. And Luigi the driver of the hotel . So polite and perfect man. In total every things were perfect . The location of hotel also is very good and you can go to Capri center and Ana capri center and also to Marina grande free of charge by hotel driver . I highly recommend this hotel to all.

Chutili ale prijal by som väčší výber, hlavne zo slaných vecí. V izbe, kde sme mali veci v skrini bol trochu zápach, oblečenie nám napachlo.

La colazione un po’ scarsa e con alcune pietanze a pagamento quando invece normalmente sono incluse ,,, comunque molto buona

Abbiamo trascorso un bellissimo weekend all’Hotel Orsa Maggiore e non possiamo che consigliarlo. La struttura è molto curata, immersa nella tranquillità di Anacapri con una bellissima piscina a sfioro dove rilassarsi godendosi il panorama. Ma ciò che ha davvero fatto la differenza sono state le persone. Il mitico Luigi, sempre disponibile a portarci ovunque servisse, gentile, efficiente e con il sorriso sulle labbra. Luisa e Silvia, a consigliare luoghi da visitare e a trovare soluzioni per ogni esigenza. Franco, attento e preciso nei suoi consigli culinari ed infine Daniele barman affabile e accogliente.

It is a really boutique hotel with all facilities you would expect!

It is a bit excentric from Anacapri and definitely you need a lift for Capri or the Harbour. The hotel ensures a transfer but you don’t have to rely on that, especially if Luisa is on duty. She almost ruin our holiday (we book a transfer one day in advance with Silvia for our departure from the Harbour with all luggage etc and she Luisa together with the driver Luigi decided to put us together with other people going to the beach in the same small car…therefore we took a taxi 🚕 of 50 EUR by ourselves) You should be very careful, Silvia the other Reception desk lady is trustful, but not Luisa! I was inclined to recommend this hotel to all my friends, but I definitely renounce to this idea because of Luisa. I expect Ms Antonella, a very decent lady, the Owner, will take the appropriate actions. Please be aware that I tipped heavily this lady Luisa, but this doesn’t count, you should refrain of doing so, my error!
