Wij voelden ons als prinsen en prinsessen. Alles was perfect: hele grote kamer, heel schoon, prachtig uitzicht over lagune, groot zwembad mooi gelegen uitkijkend over zee. Heerlijk eten. Uitmuntend personeel.
Alles was perfect
Service was outstanding - personal, efficient, truly nothing too much trouble. Food is delicious, fresh, local, charged every day. Setting is so relaxing. Loved the pool area with ambiance of a relaxed home from home with wonderful music too. Accommodation was spacious comfortable with amazing views.
Nothing.
We decided to treat ourselves for the last 6 days of our honeymoon, and Buckingham Place did not disappoint at all. It was in fact one of our favourite resort experiences we have had! We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which was huge and luxurious, featuring a giant outdoor bathroom. One small highlight was enjoying a supplied ginger beer (re-stocked each night!) and watching the sunset over the lagoon from our room each evening. The grounds of the hotel itself are stunningly kept, and the architecture/aesthetic are great. Even the colour scheme was picked perfectly, and the work of the in-house artist complements this and adds further character throughout. The pool area is as nice as you will see anywhere around the world, with a view across to the ocean across the infinity edge of the pool. The location is extremely quiet, and feels very isolated - great for unwinding. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful, and you can tell that the owner Nick, who made a point of greeting us each evening, has built a wonderful culture there. Finally - the quality of food from the kitchen was top-notch, with different dishes offered each night - all leaving us full but still wanting more!
Not a detraction as it is advertised quite prominently, but the beach, whilst beautiful - is really not swimmable at all - even confident and capable swimmers need to be very careful. Additionally the sand itself is extremely soft, so it's not amazing for walking on either. We travelled to the other side of Tangalle for our beach time.
All was superb, delicious food, friendly and attentive staff. Great facilities. Lovely pool.
Nothing not to like.
Fabulous boutique hotel. From the moment you arrive you feel relaxed and at home. Everything about this hotel is focussed on the guests from the relaxed breakfast to the amazing cocktails. Our room was enormous with an indoor/ outdoor shower and bath! I slept better here than in any other hotel in Srilanka! The staff are lovely, friendly, professional but never overbearing. You can walk to the beach to watch the waves. The evening meal was exceptional , the menu changes everyday and is so fresh and delicious we didn't eat anywhere else. Nick the owner is around keeping an eye on things, which is why this is such an amazing place. The bright colours are joyous, we just kept saying how lucky we felt to be there! If you ever get the chance to visit Buckingham Place jump at the chance, easy to see why people return again and again. We loved it!!
Absolutely nothing
Breakfast was great - amazing views. Staff were exceptional. Dinner - Sri Lankan options were very good - more of these needed! Pool was perfect. An amazing place to stay and we will be back!
Only complaint is the shower which had very little pressure (Honeymoon suite) but hopefully that can be rectified easily.
Einfach alles
I was recommended Buckingham Place by a friend and it certainly lived up to expectations, in many cases beating them. It's a beautiful hotel, my room was absolutely huge with a wonderful view of the water, the pool is excellent, but the best part is the food. I only stayed a night, but every meal I had was one of the best meals I had in Sri Lanka. On top of that all of the staff are very friendly and the owner Nick greets everyone personally and makes sure your stay is great. Absolutely recommend
This isn't really a negative, but while close to the beach, swimming isn't possible due to the current so majority of time will probably be spent by the pool, not the ocean
An amazing place for quiet luxury. The location, the service, the concept, the vibe, the energy and ethos of the place and its team.
Everything about this hotel is excellent!
Nothing at all!
As one approaches Buckingham Place, the roads get progressively more narrow and rural, but as you enter the property through the gate, you realize that you have arrived at Shangrila! (Or is it Hotel California?) This was reinforced on check-in, where we were greeted by name. There was an excellent pianist playing in the middle of the afternoon, while Mr. Nick, his dogs and guests looked on. This property is the embodiment of Nick's vision - a bright colour palette, tasteful design, hospitality and service that is second to none. Our impressions were reinforced as we met several other couples who were repeat visitors and whose stays were as long as a month. Nick is a hotelier extraordinaire, overseeing all the details and holding court with his guests in the bar before and after dinner. The meals were delicious. Breakfast was ample with lots of choice (do try the curried bacon!). Lunch and dinner menus changed daily, with lots of seafood options. If you are so inclined, there's a seafood platter that can be pre-ordered. We ordered it on our last night, and it was a meal that we'll always remember!
The one thing that we didn't like was having to leave! There was nothing that we didn't love. The staff were all friendly, efficient and knew us by our first names. With every detail taken care of ( and a willingness to correct anything that wasn't perfect), we felt at home and pampered. Sri Lanka is a long ways from Canada, and Buckingham Place a ways from Colombo airport, but I have every expectation that it is a place to which we will return.
Everything. Food, quietness, lovely helpful staff, rooms, cleanliness etc
Nothing
Buckingham Place is, without comparison, one of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed. The surroundings are truly magical – peaceful, beautiful, and filled with a special positive energy that you feel from the very first moment. The owner, Nick, is incredibly present and attentive, which sets the tone for the entire place. You genuinely feel welcomed and cared for. The atmosphere is homely, personal, and warm – more like being a guest in a beautiful home than staying at a hotel. The food is in a class of its own – without a doubt some of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Every single meal was a delight. The service from the staff is far beyond exceptional; they notice everything, and before you even have to ask, they are there – discreet, smiling, and always ready to help. Everything is simply perfect. Our six days here were absolutely fantastic, and Buckingham Place has set the bar extremely high for future stays. A place you don’t just stay at – you experience. We will most certainly return.
We have stayed in many hotels throughout the world and have to say this place made you feel more welcome and comfortable than anywhere we have stayed before. The staff and owner Nick take great pride in making this a truly memorable experience. Add to the outstanding service the superb food, and if there is something you wanted that wasn't on the menu, no problem, the chef will accommodate you. And then there is the beach. Miles of empty golden sand with a raging sea. Unspoilt by row upon row of sunbeds, music blaring etc. This is a place to unwind, relax and let the world go by. Buckingham Place is a must, many of the guys we met were returning year on year. I suspect we will become regulars as well.
Nothing this place is simply perfect
Excellent stay! Very good hotel with a friendly, professional owner and amazing staff. The pool and beach view were absolutely breathtaking. The food was super good, and the surrounding nature made the experience even more special. Highly recommended!
Didn’t like that our vacation days were over
Loved our stay here! It’s a beautiful hotel with the most amazing staff that make you feel like part of the family. Would highly recommend if you are in this part of Sri Lanka.

Comfortable room with a view of the lagoon. Excellent food and service. Large swimming pool overlooking the sea. Special thanks to Kalpa in assisting with a hospital visit. The owner Nick is on site to give everyone a personal welcome.

To me- hotels are all kinds of things, but a really good hotel doesn’t just make the everyday effortless, it elevates it. This hotel does that by the bucketload. I have to be honest, I had my doubts, first the name- Buckingham place, a pun like that brings to mind all manner of concerns, least of all- were we about to enter into some kind of themed hotel with a letter box in the foyer and a taxi parked outside?. I needn’t have been so suspicious, the owners surname is Buckingham. Simple. Although we were away for Christmas, we wanted to stay somewhere that would still make it feel like an occasion and it was becoming more and more apparent that the kids definitely felt that way. Buckingham place was perfect. The service, the friendly staff for whom nothing was too much, the owner who clearly, genuinely adores the place and loves to host, which he does incredibly well, the 2 dogs who’s presence makes it feel familiar and comfortable. Being the cynical type, I’ll admit I may have rolled my eyes at the Christmas feast, but…in for a penny…plus the owners charm had softened me. I’m so glad we did, from the breakfast in our rooms, to the bag of gifts from the hotel, to the mince pies and sherry round the pool (could have been naff, but somehow it wasn’t) to the very festive table settings and the company of a really lovely and interesting bunch of guests, it really was the perfect way to spend a Christmas Day away. Despite myself, I even enjoyed the Christmas pudding, I HATE Christmas pudding! Aside from this, the setting is incredible, it rests between wild, empty beaches, you can hear the roar of the ocean (and see it) from the infinity pool. Behind the spotless and well appointed rooms with their outdoor bathrooms- beyond sloping landscaped gardens is a still lagoon, just the sound of birdsong. Honestly, to create such a carefully curated spot in the middle of the wild is a pretty mean feat.
There was nothing I didn’t like about this property.
Everything. View. The colours lift one’s spirit.
The fact that I didn’t own it.
Staff and accomodations
Food could've been better. Too much fusion and not enough authentic selections.
The views of the sea and lagoon and the very welcoming staff and owner
The staff were super kind and the place is amazing.
All was very good.
Lovely property but very expensive compared to others we stayed in. Also the amount we were billed was different from what Booking.com said though it was reflected in an email we hadn’t checked.
Simply outstanding. Nick and his team have got looking after clients down to perfection. Rooms are super spacious and comfortable. The pool is out of this world. The staff are amazing.
We absolutely loved this hotel for its tranquility and calm. It’s the perfect hotel to switch off and enjoy slow living. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff go above and beyond. Every single detail has been thought of by the owner & staff, including coffee & tea in your room before breakfast, escorting you directly to see turtles on the beach and even waving you off when you leave. The food and drinks are spectacular. We already are planning to come back to this hotel. We only stayed for 2 nights, and wish we could have spent more time here.

Great service, 10/10
Sergio y Laura
Paradise, if you want a bit of boutique luxury this is the place for you. The team are most attentive and nothing is too much trouble
Hersey mukkemeldi. Karsilama, personelin davranisi tavri ve hizmet kalitesi. Nick'in muhtesem yonetimi, tasarimi,20 yillik emegi ile alicenap yaklasimi muthisti. Biz temmuz ayini tercih ettigimizden konaklama sirasinda kimseler otelde yoktu. Ozellikle Turkce yazmak istedim. Thank you for everything.
Her sey mukemmeldim
Beautiful property Huge well equipped room Extensive breakfast offer Exceptional pool Easy Tuk Tuk access
Use of beach restricted owing to turtle protection
The pool area and the bar were fantastic! Our room was stunning - right by the lagoon with a big open bathroom. Everything worked very well! The food was fantastic, we had both breakfast and dinner there!
The sea isn’t really swimmable. Not the hotels fault but something to be mindful of. They do have the best rustic beach bars along the sand though. Not very touristy at all - very chilled
Fantastic place!

Stunning boutique hotel, amazing sea views, beautiful rooms and fantastic staff. Wish we could have stayed longer! Two beautiful hotel dogs call Bella and Gracie are a great addition!

Outstanding boutique hotel focused on sustainability and situated in the most serene and private spot. The facilities were excellent just like the food and overall vibe of the hotel. Nick, Kalpa and team made us feel welcome from the get go and always greeted us with a smile and chat every day. The room was spacious and very clean and the pool area was spotless and beautiful. Every detail was thought of: three towels (child usually gets forgotten in most places), extra bed, comfortable seating for our daughter and lots of lovely treats and surprises along the way. The spa ladies were so helpful too when our child was hurt. Amazing location for going on turtle nesting watch too which was a definite highlight. Highly recommend and wished we’d stayed more nights! Small two things for improvement: music for relaxed ambiance in the spa while having treatments would have been nice and would have loved the outdoor shower to have been separate from the rest of the bathroom but neither of these take away from our wonderful stay!
Nick and his team as ever go above and beyond to ensure your stay with them is perfect. Peaceful, classy, amazing rooms, gardens, beach and a wonderful bar and restaurant providing very high quality dining. Our 3rd visit and we are planning the 4th. Thanks all.
It’s a concrete jungle, the food is average (very western and heavy). It’s beachside but you can’t sit or swim on the beach. Access is also not available after 7pm. We asked for a recommendation for food and the hotelier suggested Galle. He seemed very put out that we wanted to explore the area and not eat in the hotel restaurant every night.
Everything! Amazing, professional and attentive staff who went out of their way to ensure we had a perfect stay. Can’t fault it.
Nothing
Small cozy boutique hotel. Delicious breakfast. Wonderful pool, helpful staff. Wild beach.
The ambiance is perfect and the presence of the owner makes it feel so personal. The staff are both highly professional and very friendly. There are 2 great pools and amazing food especially the lazy a la carte breakfasts. The location on Rekawa beach is unbeatable and a great place for sunsets. We loved it so much we stayed for an extra 2 nights. And they made a cake for my wife even though her birthday was a day earlier. That shows what kind of people they are!
Having to leave after 3 nights but we will be back next February.
Wonderful place. Couldn't fault it. Attentive staff, great food, superb facilities
Everything ! Buckingham Place is a sanctuary of peace , calm and colour. The team are the epitome of good hospitality. As soon as you’ve checked in you feel nurtured and cared for in every way. Next time we will be coming for longer ! Special thanks to Nick for lending me little Gracie too 🐶
Leaving !!!
A very special boutique hotel! The hospitality is like nothing I have experienced before, the staff are all incredible and can't do enough for you. The pool is amazing with a view of the ocean with monkeys swinging around in the trees and the rooms are huge with a lovely big bathtub. The food was incredible too, one of the best breakfasts I have ever had in a hotel- there are no time restrictions so you can have it whenever you want, the menu is huge and varied and its all cooked to order and the dinner food was lovely too.
Nothing!
Excellent service and facilities, delicious food. Really close to turtle conservation project well worth a visit.
Dining room could be a bit warm in the evening and would benefit from ceiling fans .
Food, service and atmosphere
We did return after one year and we can surely reconfirm - this is our sanctuary in Sri Lanka. The service, the facilities, the food and all the people behind this, and Nick - the always charismatic owner - everything is top-noch there. You will not regret to stay here, if you are seeking for a peaceful time, supported by the excellent service. Rating 5 stars is not enough. See you next time!

Beautiful property - excellent facilities

Exceptional! This is the best Sri Lanka hotel we have stayed in by far! Facilities and rooms are amazing. The service was first class with Nick and team having thought of everything to go the extra mile. Food was fantastic. Couldn’t recommend more!

A place to slow down and relax. Beautifully designed hotel. Gorgeous pool, lovely food, great room and excellent staff. We are a well travelled couple and there are not many hotels where I’m sad to leave but this is one of them. Lovely rock pools on the beach to the left of the hotel when you come out at the rear to cool down in and snorkel. We will definitely return to this hotel for longer next time. Two days was not enough.
The only thing we would have liked additionally is tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We were though grateful of the morning tea or coffee free room service.
Was perfect. Fantastic stuff. Really lovely location and good food.

Only had the pleasure of spending one night here but it was a very enjoyable one. Property grounds are beautiful and the beach area is the wow factor. Stunning ! Very tranquil environment and the food and drink selection was superb. The owner of the property (A fellow British gentleman called Nick) came over and introduced himself at dinner which was a nice touch and very personable. Wish we had done a few more nights here as it’s a delightful, secluded and tranquil property located in a stunning setting.
- Food was amazing, best we had in Sri Lanka - Nice pool area and quite location - Nice massage - Very attentive staff, free water during the whole stay, also during dinner
- Rooms are old and not very stylish, but in good condition and well maintained - Not possible to swimm in the sea and no hotel facilities at the beach - Too much staff in the restaurant - Acitivies like free bike rental should be mentioned to all the guests
Super cool hotel with an amazing pool!
This was really amazing. So much a 10 star hotel and so relaxing and ‘like Home’ at the same time. The F&B-prices was very reasonable, the pool amazing, the views so beautiful. The service over all expectations. And the food… SO SO lovely. And so many choices. Every day a new menu. Our stay was so relaxing, and the atmosphere really invited to socialize in the bar in the evenings. The very big room and the comfy bed, my two massages. EVERYTHING was 10 STAR ❤️
… Nothing
What really made this an exceptional experience were the staff - we can’t fault anything about this location, the property was beautiful, the pool was wonderful, the food was good, the spa was relaxing. But the staff - they were beyond exceeding expectations. Hats off to Nick (the owner, who has such an interesting background himself) who had founded this place and built such an amazing team around him… thank you to Kalpa, Madhu, and the dining staff (I’m so sorry I didn’t get your names but hopefully you will know who you are - you always had a wonderful smile for us and met our every need, you set the benchmark of hospitality in Sri Lanka).
Buckingham Place is a little piece of paradise. It's such a peaceful place with amazing staff and an extraordinary owner who really looks after his guests and ensures the best quality in all areas: Our room, the tree house (honeymoon suite), was very spacious, super clean, with a good bed, a comfortable sofa and views of the lagoon. The open-plan bathroom is wonderful, with a palm tree towering into the sky in the centre. Bathroom amenities smell so good and are provided in ceramic bottles. No plastic in the whole hotel! This is how it should be 👍🏼 From the balcony, you can watch the peacock dance and countless birds. The birdsong is the only thing you can hear here. If you are looking for absolute peace and relaxation in a perfectly manicured tropical garden, this is the place for you. There are two pools, we had the smaller garden pool all to ourselves - only an iguana kept us company. An attentive member of staff even brought us a delicious fruit juice. In general, the hotel offers a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️star service. The guest is really looked after here, always with the utmost discretion. Many thanks to the whole team! The food in the Oceanfront Restaurant is excellent, you eat in stylish & colourful surroundings, quiet and private. Room service and fresh coffee in the early morning are free of charge. Everything is just right here, the attention to detail makes all the difference. Nick, the owner, runs the hotel with passion and skill. Never before have we experienced such a committed hotelier - and we travel very often. He has an exceptional personality and is a pleasure to talk to. The whole team is top professional and always with a warm smile. Special thanks also to Kalpa for being such a friendly, reachable and reliable manager! We also immediately took Bella the dog to our hearts, she accompanied us on the wonderfully wild and deserted beach. Thanks to Nick and his team for two unforgettable days. We'll be back - but for longer! 💖

This may be the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Beautiful grounds, stylish and comfortable spaces, it can’t possibly ever feel crowded even when every room is full, stunning pool, delicious and innovative food, and quite simply the finest hospitality anywhere. They make you feel immediately relaxed and at home, it is your vacation your way and 5 plus stars without the pretence. Quiet and secluded, it is the perfect romantic getaway. If I could rate it a 12 I would.
There is nothing we didn’t like.
the owner and the staff make you feel so welcome in this lovely accomodation. spacious, creative rooms, delicious food and good infrasructure to spend a rainy day also.
nothing, all outstsnding
From the moment we were greeted by Madu we knew we were going to love Buckingham place. We had booked the honeymoon suite (room 107) and we were blown away by the spacious living and sleeping space, and bathroom. It was magical to wake up overlooking the lagoon and shower under the stars thanks to our open roofed bathroom. The rooms were kept immaturely clean by the fantastic cleaning crew (Sanjuka, Dumindu, Devindu, Daham, Nadeeka and Disna) and our welcome of beautiful flowers adorning every surface was amazing. Nick the owner has a love of Sri Lanka that is infectious and excellently supported by his team Kalpa, Chamindu and Madu. It’s not the beautiful views, exceptional service or high quality food but the staff who are the stars of this luxury boutique hotel but the staff. Every meal time was a joy to be met by Deepal, Ashan, Ruwan, Aruna, Nilanka, Harshana, Madhushanka, Rohan and Vasula. Their ability to tend to your every need without feeling fussed is a skilful art they all execute effortlessly. So I suppose to say if you’re reading this you’re considering staying at Buckingham place and all I can say is. Book now. Book for longer. Book for sooner and bring the people you love most.
Nothing.
Lovely large rooms. Stunning infinity pool with ocean view. Access to a wild and empty beach. Warm, helpful and thoughtful staff. Quiet and peaceful.
All of it. Adored every second of our stay. Nick is a super host and his attention to detail makes this a unique place to stay. The eye-popping colours, the huge room, the well made cocktails, the pool, the spa, the art, the food, the dogs, the beach for walking , the staff who have tissues for you as soon as you sneeze and iced water when you come back from a beach walk. Simply memorable. Just go !

- Warm, family-like atmosphere: Staff are incredibly kind, attentive, and well-trained. - Stunning property: Beautiful beach, garden, and restaurant with breathtaking views. - Amazing food: Fresh, diverse menus that change daily, making every meal memorable. - Inspiring owner: Nick, the owner, is personable, engaging, and truly cares about both staff and guests.

What a beautiful place… if you want to be pampered and looked after by a group of down to earth people then look no where else. Stunning property to relax and unwind. Nick, the owner has put in a lot of thought into this place with lots of fine touches - he resides at the property and always wanting to know we are happy and being looked after. Food is top notch - menu rotates daily and there are plenty of choices. Service - 5 star or better. Nothing is too much for them. The suites are spacious, clean has everything you need.. We wished we stayed for longer. We will be back again for a longer stay. Thank you team Buckingham.

For Sri Lanka it might be a little expensive but it is worth it. After 3 weeks travelling around and being active every day, this was the best place to Relax (capital R), Eat (capital E, great food) and end our holiday because of the great People (capital P, nothing was too much for the staff). I have difficult vegetarian Eaters and the staff created also for them healthy pasta and other dishes. My kids loved it. The staff even went to the shop to buy sanitary pads for my wife and daughter when we just asked where we could buy it. The rooms are very large, swimming pool great and more than enough space to sit. When we arrived they told / showed directly that we don’t need to give tips to the individual members of the staff but it can be put in an envelope. They will equally share it to all members, also the less visible ones. I like that idea!
We were in European summer and at that time you cannot swim in the sea. We knew before, so for us no issue at all, but just to be aware.
Buckingham Place was our final destination at the end of two weeks travelling around Sri Lanka. It was the perfect place to kick back and relax - we’re only sorry that we couldn’t stay for longer than 3 days! The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. We loved lazing by the pool and our boys really enjoyed having access to the games room. The beach is a short walk through the hotel grounds - whilst the sea is far too rough to even allow paddling, it’s a lovely stretch to stroll along. The food is excellent - the seared tuna and breakfast crepes were stand out favourites! The ‘thank you’ cake was a lovely and unexpected touch at our final dinner. We experienced wonderful hospitality throughout our trip and Buckingham Place was no exception. The staff really are a credit to the hotel - nothing was ever too much trouble.
Tea and coffee making facilities would have been much appreciated. The shower area is partly open to the elements so critters (e.g frogs, geckos) do occasionally get in!
All!! The staff and the management was sooo amazing. The pool, the food, the room, the view,... One of the best hotels we were on our Tour and the best Service we ever had before! Thank you for all!!!
Nothing.
The pool area was gorgeous, the staff were lovely and the food was great! Close proximity to the turtle conservation site and the staff went above and beyond.
The outside bathroom was unique but perhaps not for everyone.
Amazing service, amazing food, amazing room, amazing place! A magical hotel which instantly pulls you under its spell and transforms you into a better, more relaxed, happier version of yourself. You will have a wonderful time here.
5* VIP treatment and a slice of luxury whilst maintaining fun personality
Nothing we loved it!
Absolutely exceptional in every sense of the word. From the moment you arrive, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of unparalleled excellence and genuine hospitality. Every aspect of this boutique gem, from its lush gardens to its inviting poolside with sun deck and swim up bar, exudes a sense of tranquility and sophistication. What truly sets this boutique apart is its exceptional team of dedicated staff. From the smiling gardeners, the patient tuk tuk drivers and the meticulous housekeepers to the front of house team every member of the Sri Lankan team are united in the spirit of personalised service.
Nothing it was perfect.
The Buckingham is an exceptional Hotel located on Rekwa Beach near to Tangalle. The service and quality of the Hotel is top notch. Amazing food and breakfasts and beautiful infinity pool overlooking the sea. The rooms are well appointed and the service is outstanding from start to finish.
We loved the wildlife, as you can see various Monkeys and more around the Hotel surroundings. The bathroom is open to the elements which means things can come in at night. For example we had frogs entering our bathroom. The staff quickly remove them though so it was not a major issue.
Amazing stay, even extended twice. The service is second to none, everything is no problem. From the amazing view of the sea to all the varied wildlife in the grounds, posse of monkeys visit every day drinking from the pool and generally being monkeys to peacocks, a mongoose, frogs, all the birds. Nick the owner is a friendly chap and clearly set the ethos of this place and is always around to help if needed. Kalpa and Umesh (managers) are great, absolute credit to the place. Can’t say a bad word, if we are back to Sri Lanka then a visit here will be on the cards again. We had 2 rooms, both great, outdoor showers, very clean, air con, amazing views over the lagoon, comfy beds. Best place we stayed in Sri Lanka, only left as we had plans. The beach is 2 min walk away past all the hermit crabs, we saw baby turtles going into the sea one evening just before they close the beach due to conservation. We then went another night with the turtle conservation next door and witnessed a turtle laying eggs. This place has it all.
Absolutely outstanding in every respect.

We loved this place and will definitely be coming back! There are so many small and thoughtful details that the staff uphold that make the place so welcoming and friendly. We had a memorable yet relaxing stay here and the only regret is that we wish we would have booked longer! The food was delicious and they catered to our dietary requirements without any fuss. For us, it ticked every box, Magical place!
Imagine you are staying in the middle of botanical gardens surrounded by birdsong and the sound of waves, beautiful accommodation, the friendliest team of staff, endless infinity pool, delicious food, and the totally relaxing feeling that nothing is too much trouble. The only ‘rule’ here is to drink lots of water…

Breakfast was delicious. The staff are delightful and Nick the owner is charming
A sign to mark the secret entrance to the beach would be helpful
An absolute Oasis of calm and tranquility but just a tuk tuk ride from the lively beach bars and restaurants. Immaculately and stylishly presented property serviced by the most attentive staff. The food was exceptional with a fabulous menu changing from day to day and we were made to feel extra special as we on our honeymoon ❤️ The pool was excellent and the largest we swam in whilst in SL. The owner Nick was a fabulous host and hopefully we will return again when in this magical country.

good facility, good room and great staff
Staying at Buckingham Place in Sri Lanka was a truly special experience. Imagine coming back from a long, hot walk by the sea, just wishing for a sip of cold water. When you step inside, a friendly barman is there to offer you exactly that—this is one of the numerous examples showing the dedication and care of the hotel team. Throughout your stay, the staff always go out of their way to make you feel valued and looked after. This high level of hospitality is thanks to Nick, the owner, who personally talks to every guest and puts his heart into the place. The staff are attentive and professional, the rooms are spaciuos, private and stylish, and the surroundings are green and beautiful. The food is delicious, with options from both Sri Lankan and Western cuisines. Little things like free drinking water, complimentary drinks & snacks in your minibar, and fresh flower decorations make your stay really special. Plus, there's a really big pool where you can enjoy a good swim. Here's a fun fact: I forgot my swimsuit at the hotel and the team kindly arranged for it to be brought to me to the airport, which is 3 hours drive (!) This is a true example of going extra mile for your customer. Most guests come back again to this hotel, and it's easy to see why—Nick and his team are doing a fantastic job of making everyone feel welcome and happy.

Absolutely everything. Every aspect of this hotel is spot on and above. A truly exceptional property
Absolutely nothing
I'm struggling to think of a more perfect place to relax and unwind. The host, the staff, the food, the location, all perfection. An absolute gem of a place.
What's not to like ?
We arrived at the property rather tired after a lengthy "marathon" through Sri Lanka touristy hot spots. We find this place to suit our relaxing needs perfectly - no crowds around, no scream noises, no rush. The soothing white noise by background ocean waves, wind, trees, birds! The surrounding beach, the actual place, the well planned, spotless buildings and structures, delicious (delicious, indeed) meals, the professional, attentive, yet not disturbing staff - what can be better than this! And, at the centre of it all - Nick, the owner - such a charismatic person, a pleasure to meet and talk, thank you! The Buckingham Place far exceeded our initial expectations, based on previously read great reviews.

kindful crew and nice view
nothing to say
This is a really beautiful hotel with views over both a lagoon and the sea, and with wonderful staff. We had a very restful stay, had some wonderful meals and enjoyed very much taking part in a magical New Year”s eve celebration. We will definitely be back!
