Ayurveda Villa 386

Paradiesischer Garten mit herrlicher Flora und Fauna. Grosszügiger Pool..

Zimmer aufgrund kleiner Fenster etwas dunkel.

I stayed for 9 nights beginning of April 2026 I flew in to Sri Lanka, last minute, without a plan other than knowing I wanted an Ayurvedic Yoga retreat, as I was very run down mentally and physically. After a days research I visited a couple of retreats where I just turned about without notice, and Villa 386 was by far the better and as luck was with me I was able to book in the next day. Beautiful buildings and gardens Gorgeous pool - serene jade green tiles, with Dragonflies and Kingfishers dipping through, surrounded by Frangipani and Hibiscus then banana trees, coconut palms and mango trees where playful monkeys came to feast. All the staff were really lovely, such genuine kindness and thoughtful care which I am so grateful for🙏🏻 The Ayurvedic treatments were so many and varied. The doctor made sure I had month’s worth of the Ayurvedic meds to take home for a small cost and I can get in touch should I need more. I didn’t need to worry about anything, at all, as all my meals were planned and provided, nearly all vegetarian but I had egg a few times, fish twice and chicken twice. A large plate of fresh fruit 3 times a day too! Some wonderful curries such as Loofah curry, Snakes Gourd curry, various delicious Sambals. I felt I learned a lot about different vegetables and Ayurvedic plants while I was there. After arriving there with the weight of the world on my shoulders I was able to focus just on myself and my only worry was to make sure I awoke in time for my 7.30 am yoga. I almost didn’t want to write a review in case too many people start going and then there wouldn’t be space for me to go back! Only go there if you are in need of complete peace and quiet and restoration.

There is nothing I didn’t like, but perhaps the massage room could maybe do with a small refresh or decorate? They are charming already but maybe fresh layer of paint, during off season.

Everything was great! Really friendly and helpfull staff! Great food, maybe not too much but for sure it is healthy if you do ayurvedic treatments and eat a little less! You get more if you ask for it!

Месторасположение

Целая куча комаров, от них нет никакого спасения, номера как по мне далеко не самые уютные

Great setting. Peaceful with a daily mongoose to visit!! The staff were so friendly & welcoming The Ayurvedic massage was amazing.

All good

The villa is an absolutely stunning colonial building set in a lush, beautifully maintained garden that feels like a tropical paradise. The decor was very tasteful, and both the room and bathroom were lovely. The staff were extremely polite and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. The food was good. What I personally appreciated the most was the peaceful atmosphere — there were no street noises reaching the villa, and it was an easy walk to a beautiful beach. We also treated ourselves to an aromatherapy massage, which was very relaxing and a pleasant addition to our stay.

I attended a yoga class offered by the hotel, but unfortunately, it felt more like a stretching session than actual yoga. Later, I found out that the "yoga teacher" was also the hotel’s masseur and tuk-tuk driver, which was a bit disappointing.

Location...It is just an old mansion with modern interiors....

Nothing

The staff so friendly and caring. It was a lovely stay with big comfortable rooms, great garden and big pool.

Immaculate gardens & pool, lovely staff especially Vija. Large bathroom and good shower. Interesting breakfast. This is a proper health retreat (which we didn’t realise) so no alcohol available (you were able to bring your own in) and only vegetarian food served but the staff really went out their way for us and brought in coffee and bread which I don’t think was normally available.

Room very dark. We did have patio doors but as there was no gauze curtain and we had to keep the shutters closed as we were next to reception. Bed very creaky and mattress could do with replacing. Runner on bed had holes and was a bit tatty. Many of the room amenities ticked on booking.com were not present in the room. Slight musty smell.

The villa itself is gorgeous. It's a large, old-feeling house but that has been exceptionally maintained. The grounds are also beautiful and full of flowers and ornamental ponds. Our room was a touch smaller than we expected, but it was still great. The food was excellent, very delicious and served in generous portions. We ate all our meals in house and were very glad we did so, it was very reasonably priced. The pool was clean and warm and there were also facilities for therapeutic massages and yoga, though we didn't use those.

Our room did get a bit hot at night and our AC didn't seem to be doing much to cool it down, but we were able to sleep with the window open as there was mesh over the window to prevent mosquitoes getting in.

Spacious property. Very neatly maintained.

There is food only on request (apart from break fast). The beach access is not there direct from the property.

Beautiful gardens. Lovely people- very helpful. Amazing marma massage. Great big clean pool.

Its beautiful villa with huge tropical garden and pool. Its very quiet and with only few people accomodate, you feel like you all alone. The staff is very helpful and polite. Althought they have only ayurweda food, the prepared other meals for us🙏 its 10min drive to Ambalangoda and Balapitya. Aroud near on Galle road are some shops. Theu little alley you are on beach in less than 5 min walk.

The time there was not enough:-)
