Reviewed Sep 15, 2026Very nice and clean room, bathroom was very new. Breakfast was very good as well. I had to leave early, before it was served, but they prepared a big box full of food to go.
Was a little hard to find at first, because it's in a very narrow street. Also didn't feel comfortable walking there alone at night as a woman alone, but that's also because of Negombo itself. Hotel itself feels very safe!

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026Audrey, Anne, Naveen and the staff were friendly and helpfull, the breakfasts were delicious and our room was clean and comfortable. Audrey arranged for Patrick to take us around the town in his spotlessly clean Tuk Tuk which was very interesting and enjoyable. When we booked out Audrey and Anne drove us to our next accomodation in Sigiriya, a long drive but very enjoyable.
Coming from Melbourne, we found the room a bit cold on the first night and we really needed a light blanket to put on the bed, but there were none. No hot water for a shower, though the cold water wasn't TOO cold. Coffee and tea making facilities in our room but no milk. The room door had a lock which, when locked from the inside, has to be unlocked before leaving. This type of lock is not used in Australia (our country) and , not realising this, I slammed the door shut when leaving. Then the key wouldn't open the door and the staff had to remove the window to gain access. I think Audrey would do well to change the lock to a more suitable type.

Reviewed Aug 31, 2026Very nice family run transit hotel after a late night flight. Collected by the owner, thought the fair was expensive but I'm sure no more than a taxi. Nothing was too much trouble for Audrey and his lovely wife. Breakfast excellent, room sparkly clean. Quiet nook off the main road. Private courtyard and gated so very good security. Small number of rooms so not overcrowded.
The ONLY thing I didn't like was the poly blend sheets and the microfibre blanket. Every other hotel I stayed at in Sri Lanka had cotton bedding which I need to sleep well .. a bed snob maybe, but it's about the comfort and breathability.

Reviewed Aug 25, 2026Bellissima struttura, molto accogliente e famigliare, pulitissima sia nelle camere che nelle aree comuni. Camera dotata di ogni comfort e curata nei minimi particolari. La famiglia è adorabile e gentilissima, ci hanno dato la possibilità di fare una doccia prima di recarci in aeroporto anche se avevamo già fatto il checkout. Colazione varia ed abbondante Top! Navetta aeroportuale a pagamento. Una delle migliori sistemazioni del nostro viaggio. Super consigliato Manuela & Christian

Die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet und sehr sauber, es gibt sowohl kontinentales als auch Sri Lankisches Frühstück, beides ist gut. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist ausgezeichnet und die Kommunikation erfolgt zeitnah. Danke und gerne wieder!

Reviewed Jul 23, 2026We had a lovely stay at Funwhales! Although we were only there for one night, it was exactly what we needed and ended up being perfect. The hosts are all so so lovely and make sure you are comfortable and happy. The room was great and the whole place is exceptionally clean and in a great location with lots nearby. Breakfast was delicious 😋 They even helped us arrange our transportation to Sigiriya for a great price and with a very nice driver. Thank you for everything 😊😊

The hosts were incredibly kind and even prepared a delicious early breakfast for me before I left. The location is very convenient—close to the airport and within walking distance of plenty of restaurants. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, making it the perfect place to rest after a long flight. Excellent value for money, and I would definitely recommend staying here if you're arriving late or leaving early from the airport.

Reviewed Jul 10, 2026Habitación amplia, limpísima, con aire acondicionado y ventilador. Hemos descansado muy bien para irnos al aeropuerto. Los dueños espectaculares. Nos cambiaron dinero, nos prepararon un picnic de desayuno porque nos íbamos a las 7 y nos preguntaron si teníamos transporte para el aeropuerto. Está cerca de la calle principal que tiene muchos restaurantes y tiendas y también de la playa.

Reviewed Jun 14, 2026Es war wirklich alles super! Inhaber (Vater & Sohn) super freundlich und die Kommunikation hat super funktioniert. Wir wurden vom Flughafen abgeholt und sogar zu unserem nächsten Stopp nach Sigiriya gefahren! Auch hatten wir eine Route geplant, welche nicht passend für die Monsunzeit war. Die Inhaber haben sich mit uns hingesetzt und mit uns eine neue Route geplant!
