Mi Hogar Jarabacoa

Die Unterkunft liegt etwas abseits von Jarabacoa im Wald. Die Strecke ist mit einem normalen (nicht 4x4) Auto nicht ganz easy zu erreichen, aber dennoch gut möglich. Sonst ist alles perfekt, wenn man die Abgeschiedenheit mag. Das Haus ist ziemlich neu, super edel und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, hoher italienischer Standard, tolles Frühstück und wahnsinnig nette Gastgeber, die großes Interesse an ihren Gästen zeigen.

The hosts were such lovely people who really took care of us during our stay. Breakfast on the terrace was beautiful each morning. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable.

As many other reviews mention, the place is 15 mins down an unpaved road with one very steep hill to contend with. The hosts came to collect us on the first day which was brilliant but would note that you need an SUV and confidence to get there. But totally worth it once you arrive!

Magnifique lieu de repos au milieu de la forêt, au calme. Très bon accueil, petit-déjeuner excellent, chambre propre et spacieuse. Nos hôtes se sont déplacés pour venir nous chercher à l'entrée du domaine quelque soit notre heure d'arrivée (car la villa n'est pas simple à trouver). Je recommande !

Wonderful house in the mountains of Jaracaboa, a lot of nature around to see and hear. Comfy bedroom, and very tasty breakfast to buy with homebaked bread.

Short check in window and to reach the place you need to drive SUV, better 4x4 or at least to know how to handle steep accents/decents on unpaved road. Little to no info about this combined with no refund policy

The owners were so kind, they made sure I was safe and enjoyed my time there. The room and bathroom were very clean, we had some great diner conversations and the service was perfect. It's a true gem hidden in the mountains!

The property is absolutely stunning! Immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and the location couldn’t be better. Its owners are just delightful,kind and amazing cooks!

We loved everything about this property and the experienced shared with the owners.

It is a very nice location to really embrace the nature. make sure you have a good car as the road within the gated community can be hard so a suv would be best. we loved it there and loved spending time with the hosts. however i did feel like there were a bit too many rules in the beginning so it did not feel easy to relax but soon after we realized the hosts are very nice and friendly. would definitely return

Absolutely stunning home. Very clean and very nice hosts ! In the forest so you wake up to the song of birds and nature. Best Italian food I have ever had. Dinners (with daily menu changes) is served on the deck facing the forest.

It is difficult to get to and we were not warned regarding the unpaved and steep road leading to their house… avoid having a small city car … Our nights were quite warm… and while we had a standing fan it was extremely loud… a ceiling fan or a quieter floor fan would be much appreciated!

Michela and Claudio were extremely helpful and friendly. I literally felt like home. Claudio went out of his way to guide me on my way there. Michela is so sweet and caring. Their food was home cook outstanding. The place is a dream. Peaceful and tranquil. I will definitely go back

A small portion of the road there but they helped me all the way

We had a really peaceful, quiet and relaxing stay here. The area is gorgeous and it was nice to hike around the neighbourhood and just look at some of the beautiful homes nearby. We ate dinner here the first night we stayed and it was really delicious. It was nice to eat with the hosts as well, feels like a nice homestay experience. Micaela and Claudio were really helpful with information about the area and how to get around. We hiked in to Jarabacoa and it was a nice walk with beautiful scenery, it took about 1 hour to reach town. It was so peaceful at the house too, a really nice little relaxing break for us.

These aren't things we didn't like, just points of consideration for anyone looking to book. All the information is very clearly listed about this property so just read it clearly before you book to make sure it's right for you. We knew exactly what to expect because we read everything, so we had a great stay and loved our time there! - The property is quite far out of town so either you have your own transport or you have to pay about 600 pesos each way to get there. Otherwise it was a 1hr hike, which we really enjoyed as it was beautiful! - There are lots of cats! All information clearly says that. If you don't like cats keep that in mind, you will definitely see them and smell them and hear them. But the hosts make sure to keep the cats out of the bedrooms, so they're only in the living areas (and they are very cute!). - Budget extra for food as you can't bring your own. The hosts are wonderful cooks. We treated ourselves to dinner there the first night, but then planned to eat out in town the next night due to our budget.

Everything - the location, scenery, food, hosts, facilities were all amazing!

I liked the feeling of being close to nature, the dinner was very good and the house was beautifully decorate and the hosts were great, good company and helpful

I think the negative side of being so close to nature was that the property was quite difficult to locate independently and is a bit isolated

Everything was excellent... Definetely will recommend to anyone.

Quiet peaceful and very relaxing

A very clean and friendly environment, you are together with nature and your wonderful hosts, the food is amazing ( make sure to try the homemade bread), after traveling for a week in Dominican Republic,we we’re astounded to find this beautiful place , We can highly recommend spending time here

The meals are delicious and the hosts go above and beyond! Nestled in a forested park with an unbelievable view, the scenery and location is perfect. If I could have stayed here longer, I would have.

Great friendliness of the owners who booked some rafting for us and gave good information about the route to the airport. The food was great and they let us come back after our rafting to have a shower and a bite to eat which we much appreciated. They really care about offering a great service to guests!

The food was amazing. The wine was fantastic. The room was very comfortable with nice views of the forest. There were many birds. Claudio and Mikela were the best hosts we could have expected. In fact, this property exceeded our expectations on every level.

Great Food and the surrounding

Consider the location off grid, in the mountain once you arrive you will stay. The hosts are awesome, nothing to improve, cant make any sugestions. Great meals. Experience for yourself

The road was rough, and hard on our old bodies.

It is an adventure to get there, make sure you have the right car, preferably 4 WD. Otherwice hosts are nice, it is a family house, Mikela speaks good English and is happy to share experiences and information.

Claudio will cook you dinner which is nice but the menu is simple and pricey for what you get.

I was visiting Jarabacoa with a friend and just needed a place to stay overnight...We enjoyed the peaceful place, the nature...I would recommend it to someone who is looking for tranquility, disconnect from the city and at the same time enjoy nature. Apart from everything, the place is located about 15 - 20 minutes from the city of Jarabacoa... Excellent treatment from the owners of the place.

We had 4 meals with our amazing hosts and each one was perfect the owners are Italian and they provided delicious meals while working around food allergies. My wife and I enjoyed the spa service that our hosts provided. This bed and breakfast is located about 15-20 minutes from the center of jarabacoa

The only thing I would like is for the bed to be less firm but as this is a preference thing it doesn’t change the amazing home that mi hogar provided with wonderful fellowship and rich wonderful Italian cooking.

the location, the view and the owners

Not much privacy and because of the location you have to be there before the sun goes down. And it forces you to dine at the stay.

Mikela and Claudio were amazing hosts. Claudio came to help us with directing to their property as it is a real mountain way. We had delicious dinner and breakfast-delicious coffee btw! All together with pleasant time with the hosts and their cats.

The experience of staying in a mountain/forest environment was amazing. The property is excellence. Hostess/owners are exceptional. I really feel I was visiting a very good friends. They are exceptional cookers as well.

The access to the property is recommended to be done before sunset, because the road is really hard at times as you have to go up/down and around a mountain.

The hosts Michael & Claudia was the best! They cooked authentic Italian meals both nights I was there. The food was delicious, good portions and very tasty. The view of the mountains amazing. The place was also super clean. I remember that standing out. And Michael picked me up pronto from a long day out on the town in Jarabacao. This is a hidden gem; deep in the beautiful mountains of Jarabacoa!!
