Here's the thing: This place has all kinds of potential, could be and maybe once was a gorgeous five star hotel resort, but apparently legal issues with the govt has severely impacted their operation. Although they charged us full price in advance, when we got there we found none of the outdoor gardens, waterpark, or other facilities and features were operating. The pool water is green. Only one restaurant is open and it is severely understaffed. The employees are truly trying to do it right, but it seems like they are swimming upstream. I'll go back when they are fully open, but not until then.

Reviewed Jun 15, 2026Beautiful resort with some nice staff. But horribly managed and infested with rats. If you’re reading this you might question its trustworthiness but I assure you, we have videos, pictures and correspondence up everything. We had a RAT in 2219 and when we reported it they moved us to another room with a big hole in the ceiling also. We were told there was NO manager on-site all afternoon or evening to discuss our horrible experience. All of this is outrageous for a supposed ‘premier luxury’ resort. We told them how upset and distressed we were and they promised a manager would speak to us first thing in the morning before we checked out. They offered nothing else. In the morning there was no manager, just the executive housekeeper who apologized and promised things would be made right and someone would contact us afterwards. Nobody did and nobody responded to my email. I then contacted them via FB messenger and they acknowledged the rat problem and assured me senior management were taking it seriously and would take appropriate action. Nobody contact me. Another week passed and I messaged again. They responded saying the GM felt bad and was offering to give all our money back. To date, NO money has been returned and NO manager has contacted us. We were promised the GM would at least email us if not call us. Neither he or anyone on his team has done so. We tried to deal directly in hopes they would make things right. To date they haven’t done anything but lied and avoided us for 5 weeks. We have videos, pictures, and records of all the correspondence where promises were made and then not kept. As a former Assistant General manager at a small hotel in Bermuda I’m shocked and outraged at how they’ve treated us. The rat infestation was bad enough but the complete failure of management to respond to us defies all common sense not to mention basic decency and professionalism. Do NOT stay here or you may have a rodent joining you in your room. Beautiful looking resort but HORRIBLE and absent management.

A big shout out to LoyJack, the pool bartender who makes great cocktails, banana and mango shakes and is very nice and friendly. The breakfast staff are so helpful, friendly and always have a big smile. The food is good and the room is clean, quiet and comfortable. The swimming pool is beautiful and comfortable for all age groups. The hotel is in a good location on the island, not too far from the main attractions and the local port. Overall a lovely stay on beautiful Camiguin thanks to the Nouveau Resort and its wonderful staff 🫶🙏❤️

No attempt to showcase services at the resort , no tour on arrival, no mention of the gym, no mention that there was a spa, no menus in the room to order food …had to physically walk to the restaurant and place an order etc
Staff struggling to do simple tasks - no co-ordination between front and back office - took 45 mins and 5 phone calls to pay final bill. Needs a good manager to upskill their staff in procedures. The pool itself was fantastic, offering a serene escape. I think the largest in camiguin and offers scenic sunrise view!
Breakfast had limited options, but everything was fresh and well-prepared. Loved the ambiance of their dining outlets!

They keep your room clean and stocked. Dining room staff are friendly but service is a little slow when you order. Also, some of the items in the menu are not available. The pool bar doesn’t serve drinks until 2 and you can’t even get water if you’re there earlier and it gets really hot. If you just want to stay in the hotel you’re ok but there is no night life in the “poblacion”. The breakfast buffet is the same everyday. Our best meal was the excellent bulalo and sinigang!

We visited the resort around September of first week, the location and the ambience are very good and the room we also got has a nice view of the mountain! Plus points for the free drinks and chocolate upon check in.
So on our final night, we decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant. The staff said (on our first day) that they close at 10 pm. So we went down around 8pm only to find that it's already closed. And they don't have any food or room service. So we went to sleep hungry. Camiguin is a province so the stores closes early.

And big thanks to all the staff as they have made us feel welcome. The resort is beautiful with great views and very well kept. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room was very clean and the water pressure of the shower was really good. The pool was also a great feature. The location was convenient for us as we arrived in Benoni port and near the area to travel to Manitgue island. My husband also had a massage in their spa and it was one of the best massages he had in the Philippines. This resort was a really good place to relax and unwind. We highly recommend this resort to everyone who would visit Camiguin.

Resort is quite a very clean and nice place. Staff are very friendly. One thing that dissapoint me is when i book speed boat tour to mantigue. The adds in front desk is P 1500/ person in big bold font. I book for 8 person for the day (6 am)w/c they acknowlege. Then that night front desk talk to me if i can readjust the time to 7 am coz the 2 guest that they add to our booking wants 7 am. I then decided to readjust our booking tome to 10 am so we can have breakfast first. She ll call back to check thr availability. Then she said thr 2 guest that book with us cant make it. If we push thru i need to pay the 2 empty seat. Not being rude, i told her thats not my problem if the 2 guest doesnt want my 10 am booking. And paying the 2 empty seat is rediculous just for the sake of being 10 person the speed boat will depart. I then told her to call me back and let her manager knows about it. In that stressfull situation they created i decided to cancel the speed boat booking. The itenerary for the next day was ruins. They didnt even reconsidered/ suggest the guest for an alternative plan. Very dissapointing rules.

Nouveau Resort is a good hotel with beautiful seaside view and clean pools. We stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights and booked 3 rooms.
Food is good, and their staff are attentive (special mention to Earl, thank you for you courteousness service during our stay). They even found and returned my daughter’s slippers before we left the hotel.
I would give it at 5 star rate if it werent for the following:
Rooms: There are some improvements that needs to be done. The the vanity mirror in room 2229 is not mounted so it always falls of, it also has no hair blow dryer. Room 2232, upon entry had a certain foul smell but was later on addressed by the staff.
The cafe needs more personnel as the serving time takes a huge while.
All in all, the place is nice. Clean amenities and courteous staff.
Would I recommend it? Definitely.

Reviewed Jun 18, 2024Nouveau Camiguin is SO BEAUTIFUL… sandwiched between the sea and the mountain. The beautiful pool and well-manicured landscape made us rush back to the resort after a morning of swimming at White Island, and another morning of snorkling at Mantigue Island, and a full day of touring the island of Camiguin.
We loved our stay… my 7yo daughter loved the water playground… Tip: ask the staff to turn on the water since they keep it off if no one is playing to conserve water. Our teenage boys played volleyball at the outdoor court every afternoon. At night, we enjoyed Ping-Pong and Karaoke at the game room, a relaxing full-body massage at the spa room, or just rest in our very comfy beds in our very spacious and gorgeous Family Suite—this is perfect for our family of 5 with 2-bedrooms, 2-baths, and 2-patios with pool access… what a treat for our 2 teenagers and 7yo.
The Breakfast Buffet had enough selection to satisfy the kids’ love for buffet breakfasts. Because I love a nice warm bowl of Chicken Tinola soup, we lunched at Mi Restaurant and tried their version called Surol (prepared with native chicken, and coconut milk); And at Waves Restaurant, we had their Seafood and BBQ Platter which had my favorite grilled Panga (grilled Tuna jaw). Tip: Food prep takes a bit long so preorder ahead especially if you are feeding hungry kids or if you are a big group.
Very courteous staff… always ready with a smile and a willingness to help and answer any questions we have about touring Camiguin. Tip: In retrospect, it would have been best if the staff could have recommended for us to take their speedboat to Kinoguitan Port when CebuPac cancelled and rebooked our return flight to fly out of CDO. It would have been more efficient and comfortable than taking the ferry since we were a big group of family friends that could have cost-effectively split the speedboat cost. Nonetheless, exploring the island and staying at Nouveau Camiguin was a great experience shared with family friends. We loved Camiguin!

Reviewed Apr 21, 2024My experience here was quite mixed, but overall I wouldn’t stay here again. Here’s the detailed pros and cons:
Pros:
1. Comfortable bed, good aircon, huge pool
2. The shower was malfunctioning wherein it was shooting water to the adjoining toilet area and soaked all the toilet paper, but i highly commend the maintenance staff for being able to fix it quite fast. The maintenance staff were the only saving grace of this resort in terms of service.
Cons:
1. The airport transfer was not complimentary and was exorbitantly expensive. We paid P1,750 for a 17-min ride (11km) to the airport. That’s crazy expensive.
2. There was a huge wedding event that coincided with our stay. Usually it wouldn’t be an issue. However, their service was compromised for other paying guests who were not part of the wedding party. When I tried ordering dessert at the restaurant, the staff said that they will need to FETCH the pastry chef from the wedding reception to fulfill my order. After a few minutes, the staff just said that my order wasn’t available. This makes me think that the resort should not have accepted bookings from “other guests” if they won’t be able to render the SAME level of service for all guests because they were busy fussing over the wedding guests. We were treated like “second-rate guests” who were of lesser priority.
3. The music from the wedding reception was blasting until 2am which made it hard to sleep. So if you had the misfortune of booking a date that coincides with a huge event, then good luck, the sound will reverberate throughout the resort.
4. I already paid the extra person charge (P1,800) upon check-in. Upon check-out, they asked us to pay the extra person charge again (they didn’t make the effort to FIRST check their record before asking me to pay). So I needed to desperately look for the tiny piece of paper which was the credit card charge receipt to prove I already paid it. It’s weird though, why did they not update their system as soon as I paid it during check-in? Secondly, aren’t there two copies of the credit card slip (a merchant copy and a customer copy)? So my advice to other guests who are still planning to book this resort: KEEP EVERY SINGLE RECEIPT.
5. I booked two rooms w/ 2 queen beds in each room. One of the rooms they gave me only had 1 bed, so I needed to ask them to change the room to the one I actually booked and paid for.
6. There was Coffeemate and sugar in the room, but no coffee (not even instant coffee). You need to request for the coffee. But why is there Coffeemate in the first place but no coffee?
Conclusion: I wouldn’t stay here again. I’ve had a much better experience elsewhere in Camiguin. There are huge pools in Metro Manila: it’s not what I came to Camiguin for. The cons outweighed the pros.
