Reviewed Aug 17, 2026The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in, in a hotel with lovely bedding and perfect pillows. The rooms were a good size, spotless. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Nothing not to like. I would note that we had hired a car and so it was very easy to get into Gujo (15-20 min drive away). Not sure what the taxi's are like.

Reviewed Aug 15, 2026

Reviewed Jul 13, 2026After another accommodation failed to send me the self check-in instructions, I found myself looking for a place to stay at around 9:00 PM. I booked Fairfield by Marriott Gifu Gujo while I was still on the train, and within minutes my reservation was confirmed. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at ease. The staff were welcoming, the check-in was smooth, and after such a stressful evening, this hotel felt like a sanctuary. The hotel is modern, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. My room was spotless, comfortable, and exactly what I needed. The surrounding scenery is beautiful, making it a perfect place to relax. There are restaurants nearby, an onsen within walking distance, and the train station is close enough to walk to, even with luggage. I explored Gujo Hachiman by train from here, and it worked perfectly without needing a car. This unexpected stay became one of the highlights of my trip. Fairfield by Marriott Gifu Gujo has earned a place among my favorite hotels in Japan, and I would happily stay here again. Highly recommended.

Reviewed Apr 13, 2026Every single thing. Best stay of my whole trip. Loved it all. The best sleep I've had in God knows how long. The bed was fantastic. It's a way from Gujo hachimam, but that added to the satisfaction, rather than take away. And whoever wrote in their review and recommended the Yakiniku restaurant nearby, I can never thank you enough. Some of the best beef I've ever had. God, I didn't want to leave.
