La Dolce Vita

The hotel itself was wonderful. The rooms were very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The swimming pool was beautiful, huge and spotlessly clean. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. We also loved the animals around the property, especially the sweetest cat who kept coming over for cuddles! The location is great too, with plenty of interesting places and attractions nearby. The hotel restaurant was another highlight. The food was absolutely delicious, with very reasonable prices and great value for money. We really enjoyed eating there during our stay.

Honestly, nothing! We had no complaints and really enjoyed every part of our stay. The only thing was the monkeys making some noise early in the morning, but of course that’s completely beyond the hotel’s control.

Not a dislike, more an inconvenience - the power cuts which were quickly rectified.

La location proche de beaucoup d’activités tout en restant dans la nature et calme. C’était vraiment apaisant. Le service est vraiment bien, le personnel est présent et à l’écoute. Il y a un accès à la piscine. Et il est possible de manger sur place donc vraiment bien aussi.

The staff were all friendly and attentive. 5 good sized rooms over looking the lovely pool. 10 min tuk tuk ride to Sigiria Rock and close enough to walk back afterwards. Food in the restaurant was pretty good. Lots of small restaurants up and down the road.

La struttura è nuova e molto pulita. Le camere molto belle (sono state rimodernate rispetto alle foto). Lo staff è super disponibile. Al ristorante abbiamo mangiato molto bene e hanno preparato piatti gluten free per mia figlia celiaca, la cucina era molto pulita. Bella la piscina con la possibilità di vedere anche scimmie, scoiattoli e tanti uccelli tipici. Wi-fi gratuito.

Nos ha gustado todo, el personal, la habitación, la piscina, el super desayuno. Está además al lado de muchos restaurantes que tienen mucho encanto para salir a cenar o simplemente tomar algo.

Heerlijke plek vlakbij Lion Rock en Pidurangala Rock. La Dolce Vita bestaat sinds 2019 en wordt gerund door enkele dynamische, zeer hartelijke mensen. Kleinschalig domein met restaurant en een aantal geschakelde huisjes. Er heerst een fijne vakantiesfeer. Zeer aangenaam zwembad met voldoende ligbedden en mooie beplanting. De huisjes zijn vrij ruim en heel netjes onderhouden. In het restaurant eet je zeer smakelijke gerechten met o.a. heerlijke handgesneden frietjes! Aanrader!

De elektriciteit viel meermaals per dag uit, maar hier kunnen ze wellicht weinig aan doen.

We loved our 4 night stay here at La Dolce Vita. The pool was incredible and the lovely breakfasts even better! 😋 easy walk to local restaurants and bars and very close to Lion rock (would recommend 5am sunrise 🌅). Special thanks to all the staff, especially Sala and Bruno the dog for his cuddles 🥰

Un établissement parfait pour se ressourcer. Une piscine top! Une décoration des chambres, du jardin parfaite. L'ambiance est conviviale et très cool. On a adoré manger au restaurant de l'hôtel. Les cocktails, les plats, les petits déjeuners. Tout était ultra frais et avec beaucoup de saveurs. Bravo! Allez-y les yeux fermés.

Clean, comfortable room opening onto private verandah facing the pool and gardens. We enjoyed our couple of nights here, it’s very well situated for all the local attractions and restaurants but located in quiet private grounds. Good service in the restaurant and friendly, attentive staff. I would definitely stay again.

De sfeer, het is een kleinschalig, zeer goed onderhouden hotel (slechts 5 kamers) en er hangt een hele leuke vibe! Heerlijk eten: we hebben er 4 keer gegeten en alles was top. Ze hebben ook heel lekkere cocktails. Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en alles gebeurt met de glimlach. Mooie ruime kamers en badkamers. Groot mooi zwembad. Voor ons was dit veruit de beste accommodatie in Sri Lanka tot nu toe!

Le cadre est très agréable et à 5’ en Tuk Tuk du point billetterie du rocher du lion. Le restaurant est très bien. Personnel très sympathique, discret. Shanaka était disponible et à notre écoute.

J’aurais préféré un petit déjeuner sous forme de buffet pour choisir les quantités et éviter de faire des restes.

Alles! Kleinschalig, centraal gelegen met een prachtig groot zwembad. Fijn restaurant dat zowel lekker ontbijt als lunch en avondeten serveert. Het personeel was mega vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Alles voor een prettig verblijf. De kamers waren ruim, met comfortabele bedden en een prima douche. Ook het terrein rondom het zwembad en de groene tuin wordt perfect onderhouden.

Die Unterkunft verfügt über eine schöne Poolanlage und Restaurant. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut. Und das Personal sehr freundlich.

Leider sind die Bungalows, vorallem das Bad, renovierungsbedürftig. Bei unserer Ankunft waren die Teppiche im Bad völlig durchnässt und haben sehr muffig gerochen. An der Decke fand sich eine moderate Menge an Schimmel. Die Bettdecke würde ich persönlich austauschen, da sie schon ein Paar Flecken hatten. All in All kann man aber darüber hinweg sehen, da der Aussenbereich wirklich schön ist.

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt im La Dolce Vita! Die Unterkunft ist in Wirklichkeit sogar noch schöner und moderner als auf den Bildern. Das gesamte Team war unglaublich herzlich, freundlich und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Sie haben für uns eine Stadttour sowie einen privaten Transfer nach Ella organisiert, was alles reibungslos funktioniert hat. Die Zimmer waren sauber und gepflegt, das Essen sehr lecker und der Pool perfekt zum Entspannen. In den Zimmern gibt es Steckdosen vom Typ D, deshalb ist ein passender Reiseadapter empfehlenswert. Vielen Dank an das ganze La Dolce Vita Team, wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

La Dolce Vita was an amazing place to stay. The rooms were very clean and grounds and pool were also immaculate. The staff were so professional, helpful and so friendly always smiling! And the food in the restaurant was really great, the menu has a lot of variety and different options and all the food we tried was delicious, we ate elsewhere a couple of times but honestly the La Dolce Vita restaurant was the best, it was also really good value for money compared to other places! Location is super convenient, at the top of the street theres more bars and restaurants all around. The breakfast that was included was best we had! Highly recommend staying, wish we could have stayed longer!!

Nothing, everything was perfect

We are a family of 5 and stayed two nights in two rooms at this charming, small hotel and had a wonderful experience. Everything was modern, comfortable, and well maintained. The pool was lovely and a great size for relaxing after a day of exploring. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They arranged a fantastic safari to Minneriya National Park, where we saw many elephants as well as other local wildlife. The Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious, generous. We also had dinner at the hotel twice, and every meal was excellent. The chicken burger was a particular favourite with my daughter! If we return to Sigiriya, we would definitely choose to stay here again. Highly recommended.

This is exactly the kind of hotel you'd expect in a tropical country. It's stylish, looks much better than in the photos (it probably has had a slight facelift), the staff is smiling and helpful, the bathroom is very large, the food is good, and there are beautiful flowers and palm trees everywhere, like in a wild garden. Considering the price, you couldn't ask for more.

Pool was perfect for an afternoon swim after morning hikes. Room was a nice size, good facilities. Breakfast was very generous and tasty. Staff were all nice and friendly.

Wir durften Gast in “La Dolce Vita” sein. Es handelt sich um eine wunderschöne, kleine Anlage. Die modern eingerichteten Bungalows mit eigener Terrasse haben direkten Zugang zum Pool. Es ist absolut sauber. Das Team ist ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es organisierte unsere Ausflüge und unsere Safari. Das Essen ist sehr appetitlich angerichtet und sehr lecker. Schade, dass wir nicht länger bleiben können. Absolut zu empfehlen!

Fabulous accommodation and facilities, and amazing staff! Beautiful pool and breakfast excellent - we chose the Sri Lankan breakfast which we highly recommend. We also had dinners and equally tasty and beautifully served. If we’re back in Sri Lanka, we will definitely stay here again!

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und ordentlich. Der Pool war super und auch das Restaurant hat uns sehr gefallen. Das Personal war jederzeit sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Logement propre, fidèle aux photos. Personnel très accueillant et toujours prêt à aider. Petit bonus pour l’amour porté aux animaux au sein de ce logement, ce qui est parfois rare. Une petite pensée notamment pour leur labrador de 20 ans qui a ensoleillé nos journées là bas ainsi qu’un petit chaton à qui nous avons apporté de l’amour et de l’aide !

Petit bémol pour l’organisation du safari qui s’est mal passé, mais notamment à l’absence du chauffeur !

We had a wonderful stay! The location was excellent and made it easy to explore the area. The swimming pool in the courtyard was fantastic – a perfect place to relax. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a great selection of fresh and tasty food. And of course, we can’t forget Bruno, the local dog – he was incredibly cute, friendly, and made our stay even more special.

There were a few things that could be improved. During our stay, the property experienced several power outages, and on a couple of occasions the electricity was out for quite a long time. As this happened in the evening, our room became completely dark, and eventually there was no hot water either. The bathroom towels looked quite worn, with loose threads hanging from them. It would be nice to replace them with new ones. It also seemed that the property is currently being expanded with additional accommodation. While we understand that improvements take time, the area looked a bit like a construction site during our stay. The cottages are located beneath fruit trees, and while we liked the natural setting, the ripe fruit kept falling onto the roof throughout the night. The loud banging noises were enough to wake us up repeatedly. Perhaps installing nets under the trees, or another solution to catch the falling fruit, could help reduce the noise and make guests’ nights more peaceful.

Incredibly beautiful room and hotel. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to cater to all our needs. On top of all of that, the hotel is extremely well situated, only a 15 minute walk to the lion rock. A special thank you to our driver Madu, who was extremely friendly and also went above and beyond so that we had the best experience possible.

Pool was lovely and constantly cleaned. Staff were great- personable and happy to help and get us better prices for tuktuks and events etc

Il nostro soggiorno a “La Dolce Vita” è stato perfetto. La struttura è stupenda, completamente immersa nella natura e con una piscina molto bella, la camera è spaziosa, ben arredata e pulitissima, anche il bagno è molto grande soprattutto la doccia walk in che è enorme. Il personale è super accogliente e disponibile, la cucina è ottima, abbiamo mangiato un creamy chicken delizioso contornato da un insalata pazzesca e anche la colazione è molto buona e abbondante. Menzione particolare per la posizione, si può raggiungere la Lion’s Rock di Sigiriya in 10 minuti a piedi o 2 minuti col tuk tuk.
