Setting in the desert is incredible

To say it was excellent time is like saying nothing. We’ve spent in the camp magic, amazing and remarkable moments. They gave us total mind reset and power for the body. The people were very very kind, hospitable and we felt they took care of us all the time. If we knew it will be so awesome time we would stay not only 2 nights but much longer in the camp. Don't forget to go for a camel ride, desert safari with a crazy ;-) driver, quads and sandboarding. We would like to thank the Chief Alfarooq and all the Team for everything. It was the best part of our trip around the Oman.

There were no things like that.

We are not new to desert experiences, and this stay confirmed how special they can be. The tent was comfortable and clean, offering a good balance between authenticity and comfort. Even the Wi-Fi connection worked well, which is not always a given in the middle of the desert. The staff was kind and attentive throughout our stay. Services were well organized and the food was good, adding to the overall positive experience. And of course — watching the starry sky at night was simply beautiful.

Camp is very clean, has great activities, staff is outstanding and helpful, food is excellent. Visiting goat farm was amazing experience, the camp itself is close to the road, easy to get to.

We paid for extra bed for our child which was 25 OMR and we got a mattress on the floor. It was comfortable and good, but for that price we expected regular bed.

Bardzo przyjazny personel, niesamowity klimat, a cisza w nocy nie do zapomnienia. Polecamy również przejażdżkę na wielbłądzie oraz wycieczkę po pustyni. To były naprawde niesamowite 2 dni pełne niezapomnianych wspomnień i pysznego jedzenia.

Das Wüstencamp war authentisch und beeindruckend. Die Zelte haben wir wie auf den Fotos abgebildet vorgefunden. Alles war sauber, abgesehen davon, dass es in der Wüste eben immer irgendwie staubig ist. Die Begrüßung und Betreuung war freundlich und zugewandt. Der Shuttle-Service zur Abholung war perfekt organisiert. Am Vortag wurden wir per Whatsapp kontaktiert und alle Daten nochmals geklärt. Und alle Verienbarungen wurden perfekt eingehalten.

Zeer vriendelijk personeel, Alfarooq vertelde ons veel tijdens de rit naar de desert camp. Tent zag er erg mooi en netjes uit. Leuke activiteiten gedaan, lekker gegeten, kortom een top verblijf in de woestijn.

Tout était super bien organisé. Personnel du camp très serviable. Dîner très bon, tente confortable et bien aménagée avec salle de bains et wc privatifs. Environnement magnifique et d’un calme absolu.

La navette en 4x4 était hors de prix !Environ 80€ aller/retour pour 2 personnes pour 10-15min de trajet.

Nothing considering the easier life in a desert

Tolles Camp mit sehr luxuriösen Zelten und bequemen Betten. Mehr als man in der Wüste erwarten kann! Gastfreundschaftliche Atmosphäre, leckeres Essen mit viel Auswahl

Il camp è il posto perfetto per staccare la spina e rigenerarsi. Lo staff è stato sempre cordiale e piacevole. È possibile fare tante attività come giro. In quad, sand board, giro sui cammelli, ecc... I pasti erano tutti a buffet, tipici e buonissimi. Posto super consigliato a chi vuole vivere un'esperienza tipica e un po' wild.

Nulla. Ho trovato tutto meraviglioso, per alcuni potrebbe risultare un po' scomodo avere il bagno fuori dalla camera (tenda).

Campo molto bello e ben organizzato, circa mezz'ora da Bidiyah. I ragazzi che lo gestiscono sono disponibili e molto gentili, le attività divertenti.

Solamente se siete appassionati di astrofotografia notturna meglio cercare qualcosa più lontano dalla cittadina che ovviamente emette abbastanza luce.

Super freundliches Personal, tolle Atmosphäre im Camp. Wir haben dort 4 Nächte verbracht und es keine Minute bereut. Die Angestellten bemühen sich wirklich einem jeden Wunsch von den Lippen abzulesen.

Comfortable stay in the middle of nowhere!

Everything was perfect, the staff extremely kind, you really feel like you just jumped in to one thousand and one nights. Like in a disney movie

Ein wirklich außergewöhnliches Erlebnis. Wunderschöne Zelte, sehr reichhaltiges, leckeres Buffet. Das Personal hat sich unheimlich viel Mühe gegeben, um uns eine unvergessliche Zeit zu bereiten. Unbedingt empfehlenswert.

Le tende sono fantastiche. Se (come noi) siete preoccupati per il freddo di notte a dicembre / gennaio, sappiate che conservano molto bene il calore del giorno, anche in presenza di vento freddo: nessun problema! E anche l’assenza del bagno in camera non è assolutamente un disagio.

Nulla. Specifico solo (ma già lo sapevo prima di prenotare) che, per gli astrofili, è preferibile una location profondamente nel deserto, più lontano dall’inquinamento luminoso degli insediamenti abitati che si trovano subito a nord del campo e che sono anche visibili all’orizzonte se si guarda in quella direzione da certi punti del campo — il che rompe un pochino l’atmosfera magica di isolamento che ci si aspetta da una giornata nel deserto… Posto che è sufficiente fare due passi fuori dal campo tra le dune, verso sud, per nascondere dietro l’orizzonte la vista dei paesini più vicini.

A wonderful place, the view is amazing, the tents are comfortable and nicely furnished. The crew is friendly and food is very good. Overall a great experience, we loved the peacefulness here.

Activities are pretty expensive. Toilet was leaking in one of the rooms.

The welcoming staff and desert charm captured our hearts. The setting out in the dunes is spectacular for sunsets, star watching and the feeling of desert life. The staff are friendly and accommodating as well as informative to Omani customs. We rode camels, fed baby goats, made bread in the fire and relaxed in the Bedouin style tents. The sleeping tents were decorated with carpets and fabrics with furniture and very comfortable beds. The bathrooms were clean and had hot water. Everything in the camp is brought in… water, solar electricity etc. but the food was delicious and plentiful and there was even charging stations and WiFi available. We enjoyed our time, the activities and friendly staff.

We had no complaints.

De gastvrijheid en moeite die er voor je werd gedaan. Je voelt je meer dan welkom! Het is een magische plek om te verblijven zo onder de sterrenhemel en de mooiste zonsop- en ondergangen die je maar kunt wensen. We hebben ook heerlijk gegeten!

Niets. Ik had wel een waterkoker op de kamer gewild om een kop koffie te zetten;)

Amazing spot in the desert surrounded by beautiful sand dunes. The camp itself is the perfect size (not too big not too small) to make the experience even more special. Tents are traditionnal and very comfy with great beds and a little bathroom. All staff is really nice and helpful. We made traditionnal bread and had a lovely dinner in the main area. Activities were fully organized by the camp before arrival. Thank you Alfarooq for making it so easy and enjoyable!! Full transfer from Muscat with a comfortable car and very reliable driver. Camel riding on the dunes Sand sliding Half day excursion in the desert with dune bashing and great driver ! We also enjoyed a very nice lunch under a tree in the desert with falafel rolls, fresh fruit and a plain option for kids with cheese. We absolutely loved our stay and we highly recommend AlSamardi Camp

Für ein Zelt war es überragend, Gastfreundschaft wird hier hoch geschrieben, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Sonnenuntergang und -aufgang waren fantastisch.

Zum Sterne guggen hätte es noch dunkler sein können.

Erg genoten van ons verblijf bij Alsmaradi Desert Camp. Prachtige tenten, eigen sanitair hokje met zelfs een warme douche. Eigenaar is erg vriendelijk.

Het is vrij dicht bij het dorpje waardoor je ‘s nachts wat licht vervuiling had om goed sterren te kijken.

It is a very nice place to stay with very helpful people. We highly recommend to do the 6 hour desert tour with Said. This was one of the best tours we ever had and the cooking from him in the desert was excellent. A great experience you should not have missed on a tour in Oman.

Alfarooq and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly. The food was delicious, the views amazing and the entire experience was perfect.

This camp is very family oriented; all the guests except us had children, so if you are a couple looking for a more quiet and perhaps not so children full time, you may want to look at another place.

We had a wide choice of activities to choose from. We absolute best ever was the 5 hour excursion with our wonderful guide Said. We visited an orchard, a dates-processing factory, a beduin settlement, dune bashing and, the cherry on top, we had lunch cooked by Said with a little help of our kids, under a tree in the middle of the desert. Fabulous experience which we highly recommend!!! Accommodation was very good and clean. Breakfast was surprisingly varied with plenty of tasty choices. The atmosphere at the dinner was very warm, food was very tasty. Watching sunset and sunrise is the desert is a magnificent experience!

We had just instant coffee to be prepared with hot water. For a coffee adict like myself this is barely survivable. :)

Dit overtrof werkelijk onze verwachtingen! Fantastische locatie met een magisch zicht op zand duinen. We hebben hier kennis mogen maken met de Omaanse gastvrijheid; zeer vriendelijke mensen! De geitjes melk mogen geven onderweg naar het kamp was tevens een heel leuke ervaring. Het was ook heel fijn dat we met het ganse gezin in 1 tent konden overnachten.

Absolute Weiterempfehlung! Gut gelegen, man wird abgeholt und perfekt ins Camp geleitet. Geräumiges und gemütliches Zelt. Wir hatten eine eigenes Badezimmer. (Toilette, Dusche und Waschbecken. Strom war Zelt vorhanden. Gute Möglichkeiten und vor Ort ein wenig zu Dünen zu erkunden oder Touren geführt zu unternehmen. Super Sonnenuntergang und leckeres Essen. Mega Sternenhimmel und absolute Ruhe. Würden es auf jeden Fall für eine Nacht weiterempfehlen.

Fantastic location on the sand dunes, and sleeping in a tent. Spotted baby camels and bottle fed goats en route to camp. Range of food at breakfast and dinner was good. Flexibility with arrival time and transfer. No hard selling of additional activities. Taking coffee and dates in traditional Bedouin style and seeing how bread is cooked on an open fire.

Food a little cold in the evening.

This was everything and more that we expected from a desert camp experience.

It is surprisingly close to 'civilisation'. I understand there is a 'deep desert' experience aslo available.

The tents, the ambiance, the friendly staff and the sky !

L'emplacement dans le désert à une vingtaine de minute de la ville. Le lit est confortable. La douche est théoriquement froide mais en la prenant dès la fin d'après-midi, on bénéficie de la chaleur du désert qui la réchauffe. Feu de camp agréable le soir.

La qualité du buffet n'est pas en adéquation avec le prix de la prestation. Nous sommes assez peu "guidés" sur l'organisation du camp et les activités possibles.

Все великолепно. Очень отзывчивый персонал . Саид круто покатал на джипе по пустыне . Много развлечений. Квадроциклы , верблюды, катание по барханам , кормление молоком козликов ) дети в восторге . Шатер достаточно большой . Хорошее белье, чистота . Особенно понравился ужин . Вкуснее чем во многие ресторанах Омана . Был даже шашлык из верблюда . Вкусный оманский кофе и финики . Очень рекомендуем к посещению !

Amazing experience! The camp is among sand dunes and you really feel the desert experience. Tents are very nice and cozy and you have all comforts but still feeling authentic. Staff is extremely kind and you can enjoy great experiences

Una bella esperienza! Tende spaziose e pulite. Bagno privato ma esterno alla camera. Cibo a cena e colazione buono e abbondante! Diverse attività da scegliere da poter fare singolarmente. Il Driver che ci ha accompagnato alla struttura in 4x4 era molto gentile e disponibile!

A wonderful place that truly makes you want to return — highly recommended. We stayed as a group of five, including three children, and the experience was unforgettable: the desert, the tent, dinner under the stars, and a camel ride. There was also the incredible opportunity to talk with the Bedouins and gain a genuine sense of what life in the desert is like. We stayed in a tent that was comfortable and well-equipped, of course taking into account that this is a desert setting. The dinner was exceptional and truly memorable. Communication with the property was flawless — I received prompt answers to all of my questions, and I had many, as one of the children requires a gluten-free diet. Said and Alfarooq went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable, and we are sincerely grateful to both of you. We will be delighted to return in the future and wholeheartedly recommend this place to others.

The camp looks ok and is nicely located in the middle of sand dunes. There are also many activities to choose from and staff is generally friendly and helpful.

For the fairly high price paid more attention could be dedicated to details such as environment/deco aspects such as avoiding a barbed wire fence, little extra deco and overall cleanliness. Still considering the price, I also believe that adding some free activities such as surf board would be acceptable as really everything requires extra payments, which can be understandable but considering base price (similar as other 5* hotels we visited in the region) should be in my opinion included. So overall a fun and memorable experience but value for money is a little poor.

The staff at Alsarmadi Camp are just wonderful - so welcoming and helpful. The actual tents are extremely comfortable and very spacious. There isn't any hot water for a shower but that isn't a big deal. The overall experience was just great - our adult children really enjoyed it as did we.

Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Al Farrouk und sein Team sind extrem freundlich, schaffen eine familiäre Atmosphäre und kümmern sich um alles. Die Tents sind geräumig, das Bett bequem und das Bad für die Lage gut ausgestattet. Es gibt Strom und Wasser, was nicht selbstverständlich ist. Das Abendessen und das Frühstück waren sehr lecker und reichhaltig. Insgesamt ein toller Aufenthalt in der Wüste mit weitläufigen Spaziergängen, tollem Licht und Sternenhimmel in der Nacht.

Der Preis pro Nacht ist schon sehr hoch, was sich aber durch die Ausstattung und das Angebot erklären lässt, die es benötigt, um diese Unterkunft in der Wüste aufrecht zu erhalten. Man hat leider ein paar Stadtlichter nachts zwischen den Sanddünen gesehen, weil das Camp eher am Wüstenrand ist.

Das Camp ist sehr schön gestaltet und das Essen schmeckt gut. Man kann gut entspannen

Es ist schon noch relativ dicht an der Stadt, sodass man sie sieht, wenn man auf der höchsten Düne ist. Nachts/Abends hat man auch immer wieder Quads und Autos fahren hören. Preis-Leistung ist nicht so optimal, es ist schon sehr teuer und für den Preis hätten wir mehr als eine Flasche Wasser für drei Personen und zwei Nächte im Zelt erwartet. Die zubuchbaren Aktivitäten und Ausflüge sind für unser empfinden auch teuer gewesen.

The camp is a short drive through the sand dunes. The stop with the goats was fun. The tent is well appointed and comfortable. Welcome tea and dates were nice. Great sunset views on the surrounding dunes. Dinner was very nice with a good choice. Enjoyed the campfire setting beforehand. We arrived a touch late for breakfast and slim pickings. The staff were very nice.

As advised, there is no hot water. The shower facilities are an afterthought.

Les tentes sont spacieuses et la literie confortable. Le camp est très silencieux. Les buffets du dîner et du petit déjeuner sont bons et variés. Nous avons ajouté un supplément pour faire du 4*4 dans les dunes au coucher du soleil et ça vallait vraiment le coup.

On se sent un peu dans un parc d'attraction, surtout lorsqu'ils vous font visiter l'enclos des chèvres, c'est un arrêt "obligatoire" avant d'arriver au camp. Toutes les activités sont payantes dans le camp, y compris l'usage de snowboard pour descendre les dunes, c'est dommage.

In generale non c’è nulla che non sia piaciuto, abbiamo avuto qualche piccolo problema con l’acqua ma l’hanno gestito subito

said alfarooq è stato eccezionale nell’organizzare il nostro soggiorno, sia il giro in cammello che il dune bashing che è stato molto divertente. Cibo ottimo sia a colazione che a cena. tende accoglienti dotate di bagno esterno ma privato

un po’ vicino alla cittadina, la sensazione era di non essere isolati

La tenda era molto spaziosa.

Non segliete questo posto. Posto da evitare, trappola per turisti!! Ti chiedono soldi in continuazione. Abbiamo organizzato una guida privata per scortarci nel deserto, pagata 45 euro per un tragitto di 20 minuti e ci si e pure persa nel deserto senza aspettarci. Correva come un matto. Noi con due bambini in auto.

L’emplacement idyllique, la qualité et le confort des tentes, l’accueil par le personnel, le moment au coin du feu, l’atmosphère , le calme ! Dîner délicieux et varié !

Pas grand chose.. il faut juste savoir qu’il n’y a pas d’eau chaude et que les sanitaires sont rudimentaires mais c’est normal dans le désert !

Cette nuit dans le désert restera gravée dans nos mémoires. Merci à Saïd pour tout, le café d'accueil, son hospitalité chaleureuse, sa disponibilité et la balade dans les dunes. Le camp est très bien organisé et tenu. Les tentes sont très joliment décorées, la literie est hyper confortable. Le repas était délicieux. Nous avons vécue une expérience authentique et notre fils de 2 ans et demi avait des étoiles plein les yeux! Thank you for this wonderful expérience ! It was fabulous.
