The view from the homestay was stunning, feels like a world away from everything else. For something this far from everything else, it was truly a great value homestay. The beautiful nature, the little decor details, the comfort of the rooms, the authenticity of the host family were all top notch. Probably my favourite homestay in Vietnam. Just note that it's a bit hard to get to the homestay on a bike since it's above a hill but absolutely worth it.

It's a lovely place to stay! Some may find it a bit rough around the edges, but it is clean and the location is second to none! The meals are tasty and plenty full, and the staff is super helpful and friendly. I hope it keeps its lovely character and doesn't turn into a Hai Giang loop party hostel.

Breakfast was good, but we only got western food, a Vietnamese option would make it even better!!

C'était top on a eu la chance d'avoir un dortoir de 4 personnes pour deux. Les lots étaient conforts et le petit dej était bon.

Attention à la position sur Google maps ! Le family dinner était un peu cher mais bon comme partout et une fois arriver là haut ça fait du bien de ne plus bouger :)

Die Gastgeberin ist super freundlich und ausgesprochen hilfsbereit. Ist sofort auf meine Essstörung eingegangen. Ich wurde kulinarisch super versorgt. Die angebotene Tour war ebenfalls ein einmaliges Erlebnis. Ich kann es nur empfehlen.

Selbst für vietnamesische Verhältnisse könnte es sauberer sein. Man könnte auch mal zwischendurch unter den Betten und in den Ecken mal zumindest kehren.

It's hard to write anything positive except that the view was nice and the kitchen lady was very nice.

It was terribly dirty. Our pillows smelled terribly and weren't clean. The overall cleanliness of the cottage left much to be desired. There were cobwebs, trash, and hairs on the floor. We had two spiders in the bathroom the size of a man's hand. There were so many cracks and crevices in the house that I dread to think how many spiders there were. Furthermore, the owner was a bit unprepared for the arrival of guests, even though we booked in the morning and arrived in the evening.

Erg mooie locatie, leuke slaapvertrekken en lieve mensen. Het eten was ook erg lekker (zowel het diner als het ontbijt) De host spreekt goed Engels en de sfeer is er erg gemoedelijk. Als ik nog eens terug kom naar deze omgeving, boek ik deze Homestay geheid weer. Bedankt!

There wasn't anything to dislike.

Freundliche und sehr bemühte Gastgeber, die ruhige Lage ist großartig mit tollem Ausblick, das Essen war sehr gut, das Frühstück ebenfalls. Es ist sehr rustikal, aber vielleicht gerade deshalb so besonders. Alles ist so, wie auch auf den Bildern zu sehen ist. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen!!

Mooie ligging (behalve alsjeblieft met de fiets bent zoals wij). Vriendelijke bediening.

Slecht afgewerkte kamers , niet echt proper en we hebben voor dezelfde prijs al veel mooier gelogeerd. Voor ons een raadsel waar de hoge score vandaan komt…

Clima perfetto. Ospitalità, buon cibo e tanta gente conosciuta Ambiente un po wild, ma forse il bello è proprio questo.

Remote and beautiful property. We stayed in a private room with en-suite bathroom. Had total privacy with great quiet homestay welcoming travelers. The sky was cloudy and even still the views were gorgeous and we were very happy to choose this location. Hot water showers and comfy beds :)

Posizione incredibile per chi vuole vivere una esperienza autentica disperso nella natura. Personale molto gentile e accogliente. Cibo BUONISSIMO.

Fantaaztikus kilátás a hegy tetején, finom vacsorával. A szobák tiszták és jól lehet pihenni bennük.

A tisztaság nem a legnagyobb erősségük, bogarak repkednek be este a szobába. Nem volt zavaró számomra...

Incredible view. This is probably the best place to stay in the bao lac region.

Amazing views! Best views I’ve had from any accommodation I’ve stayed in ever. Very clean room, warm comfortable bed, lovely staff and very good food. Only downside was I only got to stay for one night!

Nice accommodation on top of the mountain with really nice view. Shared Dinner was very nice and created a good atmosphere with other guests. The room is basic but acceptable and has mosquito net and fan. Breakfast in the morning

The price is different on booking.com from what they charge. I didn't realise until after but was charged a good bit more at the property. The staff started cutting wood with a chainsaw right outside the room at 6.30am for a couple of hours which made it impossible to sleep.

This homestay was such a nice surprise! We were lucky to get the air conditioned bungalow which was perfect. Views were so beautiful and the host was kind. The food was ok. Great for a stop over if you are traveling Vietnam by motorbike.

One of the best stays I had in Vietnam. The owners were amazing and made me feel like I was at home. The dinner was so great and so much!! And the views are astonishing. Definitely would recommend it.

Was super cool staying up in the mountains and such good value as our one night stay included breakfast and dinner, which was very helpful as the town was a bit of a drive. Also had karaoke and we were joined by a wizard? Bit random but sick

One of my favourite stay since travelling in vietnam. the room was simple and the views from the room and the homestay were incredible. We also had dinner at the homestay and it was so good. You should definitely not miss this place

Rustic, authentic home stay. Very good dinner and breakfast. It was cold weather when we were there but there was an electric blanket for the bed. Amazing views.

Don’t expect western style amenities this is a Vietnamese home stay.

We loved how friendly the owners were. We arrived soaked from our long bike journey and they kindly helped wash and dry all of our clothes. A lovely dinner and breakfast was prepared for us.

Amazing Homestay

Super friendly people. We had a great stay and the view is amazing.

The rooms are very basic but okay. The mosquito net is a must there.

Absolute authentic homestay. Great food, even greater view, and all the comfort you need. Best homestay I had while traveling Vietnam!

We thought the hosts were fantastic in the face of adversity. Considering they had encountered a big storm, they still accommodated us and we were grateful for that. The facilities we certainly didn't see them at there beat die to the conditions.

The host was really friendly. Great view across the valley. Nice treks around the area.

The property is currently under renovation so like a building site. Therefore lots of banging going on. There is no insulation between rooms so you can hear everything. Got woken up by rain on tin roof. Also had some company at night in form of cockroaches. Alas not a good nights sleep. Overall expensive compared to other properties based on standard.

An ok place if you come in dry season and there is no rain. Read below why. The staff is ok, the dinner was good. When we visited, there was a hurricane during the night and it was quite horrible. Everything got wet, strong winds so the roofs were falling off (not above our room). Nothing the owner can do about it, right. Afterwards she prepared a room for us with some dry sheets, so we could sleep for another hour or so. It was a difficult situation therefore this review might be a bit off.

I would not recommend coming here in winter time, because the rooms are very airy - meaning lots of space between roof and walls, so i guess it can be quite cold in the winter.

We had a great experience. The view when you arrive is incredible and there is nice hikes do to around the hotel. We took the room with private bathroom and it was good size room. The food was really good and typical from Vietnam.

Check-in was a bit complicated as nobody was at the reception until late in the afternoon. You don't go to this homestay for confort but for one night it is perfect.

The view from the hostel is very good. The lady who runs the show is very nice and helpful. Plentiful breakfast.

The dormitory has three beds with nice soft mattresses (the non-bunkbeds) but these don't have power sockets. It's connected to the main area (the wall doesn't go up to the roof) and even shares a light so it will only be dark once the main area goes dark. The family meal is nice, but 150k is too much for it, however it's the only option.

Very cool place for overnight. Great location with an amazing view. Rooms are very simple but all you need for one night. We had a great family dinner with other guests and a funny owner. They also helped us to fix the problem with the motorbike.

The staff makes the difference: they organise a nice dinner with lots of Vietnamese typical dishes and make sure everyone will have fun.

The rooms are cramped, and the toilets and showers could be improved and cleaned more often.

Incredible place. Its worth it just to get there. And if you can stay-even better. Its so beautifull! The hosts are so nice! They prepared an amazing vegetarian dinner for me, there was cold beers in glass bottles, bonfire, karaoke,.i got to know some other riders. The room had verry thin walls and it was super basic hut, but for the location and experience I am more than satisfied.

It's just pretty basic but you should know what you get yourself into travelling this area, so enjoy your stay :)

What an amazing staff - so welcoming, helpful, nice, service 100%. Food was so good! Home kitchen, delicious. They even offered us an accomodation in Han Giang as we were travelling there. I cannot recommend this homestay enough! Please stop by there, you won’t regret it!

Nice place to stay

The family is so welcoming. Hot shower, nice comfy mattress and a great dinner made it an excellent stay. A very authentic experience.

As in all homestays, the walls are very thin. So for light sleepers: take earplugs with in case you have a snoring neighbour ;-)

Everything was just perfect, the view, the room, the staff. I fell in love with this place and people.

The views are incredible. And it is a beautiful ride to get to the hotel. Staff was very friendly, specially Chris.

The room is quite rustic. We had rain and wind when we stayed and the wind would come in all night so it was quite cold.

The location is beautiful and on top of a mounain with a 180 degree view. The owner is super friendly, and was able to be flexible in my booking dates!

Rooms are open air, which isn't a problem for me personally, just be aware that any lights will attract moths and critters around any light sources!

Amazing place. Only 4 months old at the time of my stay. Came for 1 night stayed for 2. Up on top of a mountain next to rice paddies, amazing. It's rustic but up on top of the mountain there are not many bugs. Antwon made this place a highlight of my trip. His staff, including Paul, all top notch. Great food and happy water. It's impossible not to create a great social atmosphere during the dinners at this place.

We had a wonderful time at the Bao Lac Homestay. Tuan welcomed us warmly and treated us like family. He was a very attentive host and gave us tips for hikes and activities in the area. We loved the family dinner with the other guest, lots of super delicious dishes and a lot of happy water. The included breakfast was great as well with eggs, crepes, bread, noodle soup, fruit and traditional coffee etc. The place has an amazing view too, it‘s situated on a hill outside the town. We were in the newly built small rooms which were cosy and rustic and had direct access terrace. We can definitely recommend and will come back if we are in the north of Vietnam again!

Incredible mountain top views! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the bed was pretty comfortable. Tasty food, too! It's a nice place to meet travelers and soak in some of the natural beauty of the area.

Kind of pricey for 2 beds and food. Bathroom in the shared dorm is not very private, open at the top to the common area and kitchen.

The property is in an excellent location. The views are amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is amazing too.
