However it did not compare entirely to another stay we had in Maldives at Ozen Madhoo, where the staff were incredible at ale very level, which is what you expect for these costs. Some of the staff that did really meet expectations:
- Sanchita in restaurants. Great sense of humor
- Basil at bar - always has a smile and very attentive
- Chatura in main buffet restaurant - very welcoming and warm. No request ever too much, and we had some :)
- Samir room service was brilliant
- Samira provided a great intro to island and was always helping us as she was our contact for resort needs
- Maria and Sudi at the spa. The massages were amazing. So good we had 2 90mins sessions in a week.
Gym and spa area beautiful. There is a steam room. Can use the yoga room when no classes for personal use.
Swimming pool area is beautiful.
The reef is amazing after the ocean villas up to the peer in front of the main restaurant. This is really very close to shore and certainly a highlight.
Lagoon and ocean villas are better than beach villas because there is a sea wall in front of beach villas. Odd number lagoon villas are better as although sunrise side - curtains are practically blackout - the sea wall is further on this side for better view.
Speaker in room for clear music when chilling around the villa pool.
Decent range of drinks.
Pool and table tennis and other games are available if weather is not great.
One night had excellent live music. Although would have been great if a little more entertainment such as live music available on more nights.
Dr Shafi was knowledgeable, helpful and thoughtful to the point he was asking other staff to check up on us to see the recovery since some treatment
Bats are prevalent on the island and there was a couple of baby sharks that we saw everyday in the shallow next to the beach. Completely harmless and great to look at.
Little details - like water for cleaning feet everywhere.
Although some decent dishes, in general the quality of restaurants food is not a high standard. I am comparing this to another visit to Maldives where we stayed at Ozen Madhoo - also all inclusive. Although many aspects better in Kagi, the food is certainly not one. I felt like I was having fine dining in Ozen and every dish, even in the bar area were amazing. In Kagi sadly the food was not at all special in any of the restaurants - Ke un, Nonna or the main restaurant to the point that the bar burger was a highlight dish... Chatura saved the day on occasion with some fresh cut mango and steak. But this is obviously not what is expected for this price.
I know that the rock walls are built to protect the island, and thus are needed, however they can be an eyesore, particularly the odd number ocean villas, even number lagoon villas and most of all the beach villas.

The food wasn’t really at the level of the resort, I wasn’t happy with the food the buffet and the normal menu or the restaurants.

Reviewed Mar 12, 2026Kagi sorge in una piccola isola bellissima. La privacy di questo resort è pazzesca, tutto è perfetto. La villa lagoon è moderna ben curata. La pulizia è sempre top e il cibo è un’esperienza in tutti i ristoranti. I drink sono buonissimi con scelta e alcol di qualità. Le escursioni sono interessanti e divertenti e tutto il clima a Kagi è veramente top! La barriera corallina è raggiungibile direttamente tuffandosi dalle ville e la varietà di pesci e fauna marina è veramente indescrivibile.

O hotel tem duas opções ou vc vai de barco ou vai de seaplane. Eu mandei mensagem reservando o barco porque tenho fobia de altura e seaplane. Ao chegar no aeroporto não tive opção e tive que ir de seaplane. O hotel não mandou nenhuma mensagem avisando. Foi uma falta de respeito comigo e meu marido. Expliquei o meu medo e falaram que a opção era ir à noite de barco sendo que chegamos de manhã. Como fomos passar o final de semana eu tive que enfrentar meu medo para não perder o dia e esperar o barco até a noite.

Reviewed Jan 12, 2026В целом весь отель - этакий большой компромисс. Отель очень маленький, из-за этого достаточно тихо и не много людей, но и нет такого обьема (разнообразия) услуг\возможностей\еды. У отель очень неплохой домашний риф, но когда мы там были был сильный ветер и сильное течение, из-за чего далеко не везде можно нормально снорклить (не уверен что это чисто сезонное явление, думаю это особенности положения острова). Еда достаточно неплохая, повара справляются и не "портят" блюда специями или пережариванием и т.п., но разнообразие блюд не очень большое. Персонал отеля очень дружелюбный и на позитиве, но и особой инициативы не проявляет (особенно менеджеры, чем ниже "по званию" тем лучше персонал там). В итоге с одной стороны в отеле всё есть, но с другой ни что из этого не "вау".
Сложно сказать, все плюсы и минусы описал в разделе "что понравилось", т.к. они идут рука об руку.

Die Ruhe, das klare Wasser und diese unglaubliche Natur haben mich sofort entschleunigt. Mir hat gefallen, wie exklusiv und gleichzeitig entspannt alles war – kein Stress, kein Lärm, einfach Ankommen und Genießen.
Ein Punkt, den man unbedingt einplanen sollte: Alkohol ist auf Kagi extrem teuer.

Reviewed Dec 29, 2025The resort is beautiful, The rooms are very comfortable, and I loved the bathroom with the bathtub at the back. The pool is a bit small but nice. I loved that I could see the fish from the pool just by looking out at the sea from my room. The staff were very attentive and helpful. I really enjoyed the all-inclusive plan.
What I think they need to improve is having a more extensive buffet, and in the lounge there should be some snacks available besides coffee, because if you have to wait for the seaplane, it's not fun to be there.

Reviewed Dec 26, 2025Just got back from the most amazing stay at Kagi Maldives and honestly, it was perfection from start to finish.
From the moment I arrived, the staff were so warm, friendly, and welcoming. The location is unreal: incredibly peaceful and serene, surrounded by the most beautiful shades of blue and turquoise everywhere you look. It truly feels like you’re a world away from everything.
I stayed in an ocean overwater villa and it was absolutely stunning — sleek, minimal, and beautifully designed, with direct access to the house reef. The architecture and decor throughout the resort are tasteful, clean, and understated, which makes the whole place feel calm and effortlessly luxurious.
Diving and snorkelling were hands down a highlight. We saw dolphins, turtles, sting rays, sharks, and thousands of fish.
The food was also excellent, with great variety and consistently high quality across all meals. My favourite had to be the Maldivian curry!
And the spa…wow. Easily one of the best I’ve ever been to. Incredibly relaxing, rejuvenating, and the perfect way to completely switch off and reset.
Overall, Kagi Maldives is a true slice of paradise. Would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful getaway. Already dreaming of going back.

Reviewed Dec 25, 2025Being the 5th Maldives resort I have visited, I find Kagi perfect for honeymooners and people who are looking for a relaxing holiday. we visited from 20-24 Dec 2025. It is a new resort, open only for 5 years and the room facilities like lights and aircon worked perfectly. the large indoor and outdoor shower areas were fabulous too. appreciate the 45min speedboat transfer from the airport directly to the resort too (the sea planes schedules are very weather dependent). rooms are really quiet and separate from each other - we could not hear the neighbours at all.
I really like the F&B service - the full board covered all 3 meals at same restaurant but the variety was excellent, with 3-4 live stations and many new dishes (with very little repeat) over our 5 days. the service was attentive and the staff remembered our names and requests. I will like to give a shoutout to Chathura, Jarov, Carlo, Joey, Bikram and Davin.
The private speedboat snorkelling tour was very good too. it was unfortunate on that day, the winds were strong and the waves heaving, but both Mandhu and Judy ensured the safety of my 3 teenagers, never letting them out of sight and also showing them giant clams and special fishes, also bubble tricks under water. we felt really taken care of and we will highly recommend such a tour.
Furthermore, Maria and Dorji made us feel very welcome during meals as part of the waiters/servers. by the way, Maria also gave my wife a really good massage at the spa.
It is a resort that really cares and will be attentive to guest's needs. a perfect honeymoon spot.
Young kids maybe bored here - no jet skis or water parks. will be good idea to bring snacks (like chips) if you have such cravings as there is no convenience store on the island. the house reef is rather small, so if you are very keen on snorkelling, booking a private speedboat snorkelling tour will be better.

2 main downsides for me:
- Scuba diving instructor. I had to pay for online course, but didn’t have any lessons. I felt that he didn’t have enough experience and also was quite chaotic, persuading me that I will need to pay. Total scam
- Food quality is quite poor. No seafood at all, mostly chicken and beef

We loved the modern architecture, the sense of newness, and the overall comfort it provided. For the quality and experience offered, Kagi delivers excellent value for money.
The food was excellent, and we are grateful to the doctor, the waitstaff, and the housekeeping team for their warm and attentive service. The house reef was a true highlight, full of vibrant corals and colorful fish.
Kagi exceeded our expectations, and we will surely return.

Reviewed Oct 31, 2025It was one of the best vacations my husband and I have ever had. The hotel is very close to the reefs, and the underwater scenery is stunning. You can even spot lionfish right from the beach. Joining the snorkel and sunset cruise tours is a must. We were lucky enough to see two mantas even during the snorkel tour. We truly enjoyed trying different cuisines. Many thanks to Shaba and the management team for their hospitality and kind guidance.

Comida super variada, pra todos os gostos, drinks maravilhosos, inclusive muitas opções de drinks sem álcool. Vale a pena pegar o all inclusive. A academia é muito boa e com vista pro mar.
Voltaria com certeza pro Kagi, mas ficaria no quarto da praia. O barulho das ondas no bangalô incomoda um pouco.

The island has the perfect size for a relaxing and private get-away.
The food is super delicious giving a great variety of international cuisine at the buffet and the different restaurants.
The house reef is spectacular and offers the chance to see turtles, sting rays and reef sharks while snorkeling and diving. We want to leave a special thanks to the staff of the diving center (especially to Mido) wo made us fall in love with diving and even certified deep sea divers!
From ping pong sessions to cinema under the stars and spa treatments (thank you Maria also for showing us how to open Mangostin) we had not one minute of getting bored. The water villa was absolutely amazing and offered great sunset views. Everyone on the island took very good care of us - thank you Shinan, for helping to plan our trip and being there for all inquiries and questions we had.
We would definitely recommend staying at Kagi and are very sad that we couldn’t stay longer! Hopefully this is a see you soon. 🏝️

What an incredible resort! Just 4 years old, this island retreat in the Maldives felt fresh, modern, and beautifully designed — exactly what we were looking for. Every space, from the villas and rooms to the restaurants, bars, and spa, was aesthetically stunning and meticulously maintained. The entire property was spotless, with regular cleaning that really stood out.
We opted for the premium all-inclusive package, which was absolutely worth it. The mini bar was fully stocked and restocked daily, all drinks were included, and the food was both varied and consistently high quality.
One of the highlights was the beautiful house reef, which my husband loved exploring. The location is also perfect — just 15 minutes by seaplane and a quick 45-minute speedboat ride, offering flexibility to reach Malé for international departures.
The resort staff were exceptional, and the overall vibe was relaxed, welcoming, and luxurious. Our host Sonam was super nice and always very responsive so big thanks to her! The honeymoon package came with lovely extras like a sunset boat trip, a complimentary massage, and even a mini photoshoot — thoughtful touches that made our stay even more memorable all booked and arranged by her!
We had initially been concerned that the island might feel too small, but after the intensity of our wedding, it was exactly what we needed. The compact size made everything feel accessible without being overwhelming — especially appreciated in the humid weather. Walking from our villa to the restaurant was just the right amount of movement.
We only wish we could’ve stayed longer!
One major issue we faced was with the hotel’s credit card processing. Nearly $6,000 was charged on my card, but the resort did not receive the payment. I had to call my bank to investigate, and they confirmed that the amount had indeed been reserved and would only be reimbursed after 21 days if the hotel could not see it on their end. As a result, we had to use a second card — a stressful and unnecessary complication.
For a resort of this caliber handling high-value transactions daily, the payment process should be seamless. Staff should be clear on whether to process payments in local currency or the cardholder’s home currency (and good to do a test transaction before locking such a huge amount in one go maybe). What if I had been traveling alone without a backup card? These resorts often don’t accept cash unless it’s in USD, and I was carrying euros. Payment issues shouldn't be something guests have to worry about.

Any 'on top' activities like massages, day trips or diving experiences were super expensive. But we had a fab time without any extras. The food is very good although limited vegetarian/ vegan options.

From the moment we arrived, the staff's exceptional attention to detail and warm hospitality ensured our stay was nothing short of perfect. Our lagoon villa was amazing, offering breathtaking views and luxurious comfort that set the tone for a truly relaxing getaway. The veriety of activities kept us entertained, and the exquisite dining options had delicious food for us at every meal.
A special mention to our PLA Li, who met us on the first day and took exceptional care of us throughout our stay, right till the end. Li's assistance in showing us around and booking / recommedning daily plans was great, adding a personal touch to our experience. The staff consistently went above and beyond, anticipating our needs and making us feel incredibly special throughout our stay. Their dedication to creating a personalised and unforgettable experience was evident in every interaction. We are immensely grateful to the management and team at Kagi for making our anniversary celebration so remarkable, and we look forward to returning for another unforgettable holiday.

The staff is extremely friendly, super accommodating and ready to go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The hotel offers a variety of experiences and there is plenty to do (5 Big safari, Ocean glimpse and Blissful sensation are highly recommended). The spa facilities and treatments are outstanding (Aromatherapy and Baani serenity are highly recommended). Kagi is definitely a place to relax and recharge. I highly recommend the ocean pool villas with the sunset views! Make you use the Kagi resort app before you arrive to plan your itinerary in advance - a great way to plan your trip and keep track of your activities.
The Wifi is very slow. Alternative e-sims work well.

Reviewed Nov 17, 2024what an amazing design. There are only 100 guests at full capacity and it was when were there but we hardly saw any one. Every room has a private terrace and pool with sunbeds. So the most people we ever saw was about 20! Fantastic design.

Had the pleasure to visit several resorts and if want small, quiet and serene even in high season (but utterly special in lower density mid seasons), 30 min transfer from Male on sea plane and 5 min boat, limited kid noise given no kids club, amazing house reefs for snorkelling, first class eurodiver operation with 6/7 of the best dive sites in the Maldives within 45mins on a great boat with a truly great team, world class food and spa, a personal expression by the local Maldivian owner with genuinely first class personal management and service teams, there is no need to spend €1k plus per day at the busy and hyped brand resorts when this individual and perfect offering exists.
We extended 6 days after 2 weeks to enjoy a little more…family feel and way they treat their staff means the service you receive is just sublime.
Over water villas are just lovely and beach are quieter, do both if you can.
Thank you Nazeer, Fira, Basil, rest of bar and restaurant teams, gardening team, Dora, Sajeith, boat crews and for making this our truly special home from home.
Vibe is super luxe and relaxed, management team and service is world class, amazing diving especially if experienced and simply…the calm.

Reviewed Oct 31, 2024My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of staying on this small, beautiful island and can say with confidence that it was one of the best holiday experiences of our lives. The intimacy of this tiny island was exactly what we were looking for - it felt like our own private paradise! Every inch of the island was beautifully maintained and the setting was straight out of a dream.
One of the highlights was definitely the house reef. Amazing snorkeling was just a short swim from either your room or the beach! The diversity of the marine life was incredible and bountiful, including colourful fish, turtles, rays and small (and big) sharks. It felt like having our own private aquarium right on our doorstep! We even had the good fortune to witness dolphins playing and jumping from the panoramic view from the gymnasium.
The food was another standout, with the buffet style breakfast providing a huge variety of food to cater for ever pallet and was very impressive considering the island’s small size. Each evening meal was also a feast for the senses, prepared to perfection and served with a smile.
What truly made this trip exceptional, however, was the staff. The service was faultless and everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive. They took the time to get to know us and tailored everything to make sure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Attention to detail was remarkable and it was clear they genuinely cared about making our experience unforgettable.

Reviewed May 2, 2024We absolutely loved our stay at Kagi Maldives for our honeymoon. The island is beautiful, secluded, and quiet. We stayed in an Ocean Villa on the water, the room size was great with easy access to the ocean and coral reefs. The coral reefs on the island were fantastic and so easy to get to from the room, we saw turtles, sharks, manta rays, and plenty of fish.
We selected the all-inclusive package, which I'd recommend not to worry about costs each day. The buffet for dinner wasn't open when we were there, so we ate at Ke-un and Nonna each night. We loved Ke-un, and the prawns were massive and spicy, our favourite dish. We also enjoyed Nonna but preferred Ke-un for the asian food. There is a good selection at both restaurants. All the food we had good, the buffet breakast had lots of chocie and the dumplins and pastries were delicious and our favourite part.
The drinks choices are extensive, most cocktails we really enjoyed, and the wine selection was great. The bar staff were great and attentive, never waited long for a drink.
We arranged a chefs table dinner. Nahil, who was superb throughout, managed to arrange for this a secluded beach, which was a very special. The food was delicious and the setup beautiful.
Overall, the island is beautiful with an amazing coral reef, the staff are attentive and friendly, the food and drinks are excellent with a wide selection, and it was very romantic and secluded, perfect place for our honeymoon.

Very beautiful reef, great friendly staff, delicious food, interesting excursions. If you want to relax and see the incredible underwater world, this is the perfect place to do it!
I would also like to mention the diving center. Tried diving and liked it so much that I took a full course for basic certification (Skuba Diver).

Reviewed Apr 1, 2024Firstly, we would recommend this island to all people looking for a calm, quiet space, who care about the environment and coral reefs. This hotel, in particular, has a good sustainability ethos and refrains from watersports that could disturb the coral reef and its inhabitants.
We are a couple from London and arrived for a 9-night stay on the island. We were warmly greeted by a Kagi representative as we arrived at Male airport. The gentleman kindly escorted us and facilitated our seaplane check-in. This was a very smooth process. The seaplane itself was hugely enjoyable. It was lovely seeing all the atolls from above. We then had a boat transfer from the seaplane dock to the island, where we were warmly greeted by Cindy, our representative for the island.
Our stay at Kagi was nothing short of amazing. The island itself is small, quiet, and in harmony with its surroundings. The architecture was modern yet aligned with Maldivian island vibes interspersed with greenery and flowers. There were multiple restaurants to choose from, all pre-arranged by Cindy, which made our experience completely stress-free. The food choices were extensive, and the food and drinks were exquisite.
The ocean pool villa was stunning. The outdoor shower and bath were a nice touch, but the steps down to the reef were the best part.
We had such amazing snorkeling experiences, seeing turtles, sharks, puffer fish, and lionfish, to name a few. Kagi is apparently well-known for its reef.

Resort staff were absolutely amazing at all times of the stay, Friendly and accomodating. Food was excellent at all restaurants, including the buffet breakfast. Resort was very clean and well maintained. Great choice of beverages (alcohol and soft drinks). Room was clean and we had a great view (room 321). BAANI spa was truly amazing - never seen anything like it
The weather didn't play its part, but that's not under the resorts control.

Despite being on the All Inclusive package, some food menu items carried an additional charge, and room service was chargeable. I think this wasn’t necessary.
Also, some of the food menu items needed a 24-hr order notice. Though I understand the logic, it would have helped if we were made aware about it on arrival. These were some of the best menu items, and we were unable to order them.
