Staff was very helpful and polite.
I liked it
The restroom. Was dirty they send the lady to clean she didn't clean well at all the bathroom curtain fall and she put it back all dirty
This was our second year staying at Casa Mariano and it was just as pleasant as the first time! The room was spacious and clean, it had a mini-fridge and a small stove, and the AC was cold!! The shower had cold/hot water and the toilets worked properly. The Staff remembered us from last year and (because the rooms were available) gave my wife to opportunity to pick the room she wanted for the week. Thank U! The free breakfast includes beans, chilaquiles, and your choice off eggs (scrambled, mixed with bacon or chorizo or vegetables, etc) and either coffee or juice. You can enjoy it in the rooftop dining area while enjoying the view of the city and mountains or they offer to take it to your room. There is always someone at the front desk and the door to access the rooms is closed so you don't have to worry about random people walking around in the halls. The Location is also Great- it is walking distance to the heart of Downtown, but far enough to relax. It's not a big property and has the Family atmosphere with the Staff. **The Owners (husband and wife) were on property overlooking renovations being made and even took over the kitchen because they gave Staff the day off. "Attitude reflects Leadership." You can see it in the way Staff smile and take care of things.** THANK U for a GRT Vacation!! **NOTE: next year we have to be in Tepic for a WHOLE month and we're seriously considering make ourselves at home in Casa Mariano.**
We didn't have cable nor internet connection on Friday and Saturday nights. **HOWEVER** They contacted the Technician and had him come on SUNDAY NIGHT to make the necessary repairs! Instead of waiting to have it fixed during regular business hours, Casa Mariano had it done right away, on a Sunday night.
Very clean, nice staff and very comfortable
The hotel run out of water for shower and restrooms.. no water during my stay... they should pay close attention to those details...
The staff here were all fabulous. Nothing was a bother to them. From breakfast chats to calling taxis, they were so helpful. Such a good location too. A street and a half away from the old centre. Very good value.
I had a room under the kitchen, so it was sometime a bit noisy early in the morning.
The staff was kind abd the breakfast is pretty decent.
1. Poor facilities: What you see on the internet is not what you get. 2. Improvised furniture, not even a decent wardrobe. 3. Rusty faucet in the bathroom and a shower curtain that falls every time and is mouldy and dirty. 4. Not the minimum decent standard for hotel, bad electric installations, and no windows in the room. 5. Want to charge your phone? Do it on the floor. That's where the sockets are. I really struggled to decide to review this place, and I was thinking about the people working there, but even their service doesn't compensate for the disasterous room they gave me. For the price, I ve got a way better hotel in Guadalajara city.

Location
The rooms don’t look like the pictures. I visited with my old parents and there were not even night stands. We booked a bungalow with kitchen and it did not have a fridge and enough cups. The room looks more like a student one. There was also a light in the patio that was on during the night and passed through our window. Not good quality bed clothes. Bathroom not to good standards of a boutique hotel.
Very friendly staff especially in the kitchen. Great location only a few blocks from the Centro. Wonderful rooftop lounge with nice breezes. Great King bed for sleeping and a very quiet room. Would definitely stay there again.
Would have liked a ceiling fan to distribute the air.
Super comodo y Renee es tan amable.
Had an amazing time . All stuff were very helpful and nice .
The morning breakfast was amazing and very delicious
Great location to visit the Cathedral which is close by. Breakfast was good.
There was a step up to the room with no wheelchair access. Bring your own ramp if you use a wheelchair. Parking was available down the street.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
The facility is extremely noisy. Due to the fact that everything is concrete, every little sound echoes throughout the complex. Also, the doors are made of single pane glass. Every sound from the street and the hotel amplifies and echoes into your room. I could hear notifications from people's phones who are staying in other hotel rooms. The noise in the city is terrible. Constant motorcycles, dogs barking, train whistles, vendors on megaphones, chittering birds in the atrium, people talking and yelling, etc., you name it.
Was great especially the free breakfast in the morning
The parking was around the block
I liked the hospitality, attentive staff, and cleanliness of the suite
The staff was amazing
Amazing staff
It was very clean
Slow internet
This was by far my FAVORITE place of our whole trip!! Our room was super roomie. It had a nice TV, fridge, sink, King Size bed, sofa, good bathroom with a rain shower head. Our window was looking out to the street. They have parking around the corner from the hotel, which would be a 3 minute walk, but if you are lucky, which we were every day, you can park on the street right across the street from the main entrance. The staff here was AMAZING! Just AMAZING! They helped us with our dog, to make sure we had everything we needed and to make sure she was safe at night. They were very communicative as well. The price is a steal! It has great location, with downtown being a couple of block away. Within a 5 minute walk you have pan dulce, multiple restaurants, burger places, coffee shops, cathedral, big historical plaza, etc. They have a small bar with a pool table that placed great music at night. On the upper floor, they have a small kitchen, which serves breakfast that is included with your stay every morning. I had chilaquiles every single day because they were that good. We also had lunch one day with included one of the best fish I've ever had, and some delicious Aguachile. It was an amazing stay and I'll do it again every single time I visit Tepic.
Nothing I didn't like. I saw some other rooms that might've been smaller than mine, but I had room number 1 and it was amazing. No complaints here at all! Parking could be closer, but you can literally walk anywhere.
Family told me about it
Out of our three rooms only one had issues, the other ones were perfect. The issue was the mold on room 14 , mold in the bedroom and the bathroom area ceilings.
No good
Better Breakfast the place Need to be remodeled
The staff was extremely nice and the free secured parking.
The amenities were all terrible: no AC working, humidity in the room, terrible pillows, broken fridge, no curtains in the only window, nor so good internet, shower leaking all day so wet floor, terrible lighting in the room…
The hotel was a hidden gem in Tepic. The manager Patricia and her staff took care of my every need. The top floor terrace restaurant served great food and the staff were terrific.
I didn't like that my schedule prevented me from spending more time there.
Staff
No fridge in room
The staff were wonderful and the building and outdoor spaces were lovely!
The bathrooms could use places to put your shampoo, soap, toothbrushes etc. The beds could use reading lights and plugs near the beds as well as a table near the bed. The pet fee is 150 pesos which is not bad but not free.
Great beds! It’s a unique hotel with a lot of character. We found the made to order breakfast to be delightful! It is a quiet area of town.
The shower smells of a backed up drain and the communal area is very loud when occupied.
The hotel advertised a room at a good price. It presents pictures of large rooms with spacious accommodations. We paid in advance through a booking service. When we got there they gave us an extremely small room, nothing like the pictures. It was clean and we did get breakfast and secure parking, but the advertising is deceptive. They show a large well equipped room and offer a price. When you agree to those terms they switch you to a very small room. It is so small. There is less than three feet to walk and put luggage on two sides of the bed. You can barely close the door to bathroom when on toilet. There is no screen on the window so you cant keep it open due to mosquitos. Pretty crazy. I asked why the room is so small and they said because of the price I paid. What?? I paid exactly what I agreed to based on the offer, but they didnt deliver what they advertised. Deceptive. On a good note, the staff was polite, parking was secure, and breakfast was included. I enjoyed the rooftop garden. I dont like to give reviews like this but these are the facts.
the service was good, the staff was helpful..
i checked in late at night (or should i say morning) 4Am so i had a not so friendly welcoming..bedroom was good, bathroom it felt more like a guest bathroom, small, toilet next to shower only thing separate them from was a thin curtain.. there's a small table to eat..(it was so uncomfortable to eat because it was kinda loose)..so I'd say it was "ok"
The attention and the clean of room was exceptional.
There was an issue with the drain shower, with a little flood in the shower.
This is a funky and eclectic hotel, close to the center of Tepic. The staff are delightful, and could not do enough to help us. A special mention to Hector the manager. What a lovely man! Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace and included in the price. It is delicious. Highly recommend this hotel. I should also mention that they are pet friendly, which is a huge help. Secure Parking is also provided a short distance from the hotel.
Great staff, great facilities, superior complimentary breakfast…….had a riot shooting pool n playing cards…….
Noisy
The breakfast was delicious. the staff very friendly.
the shower water didn't get hot.
Breakfast was fine. Prepared on the spot to my liking. I love the roof top terrace for open air breakfast
There was nothing that I did not like. Staff works hard and adds a personal touch.
The bed very comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Very good price
Wi Fi not working Bathroom not well cleaned Weird smell Very uncomfortable sofa
It said it had board games it has none and wifi didn’t work breakfast was only free for adults
Great breakfast. Very attentive staff. Being pet friendly was a requirement for us and the staff was very accommodating to our needs.
Junior suite was okay .
They sold me 3 night is the junior suite but over booked or something and made me stay one night in a very hot stuffy room and claimed one night was “free” but didn’t give me the money back that I paid for that night .
Vero good overall and details taken care off.
It's all nice!
I really loved that it was near the center of the city.
property was great! only downside is the parking is not onsite.
Wonderful and comfortable hotel easy walking to the square. Very modern, great beds, and amazing staff. Nice rooftop too. Highly recommended.
Nothing, everything was excellent.
Staff is excellent! Location - walking distance to everything. Clean comfortable bed. Roof top garden was lovely. Breakfast was good and staff excellent.
This is not a boutique hotel. More like a hostel. Wifi is very inconsistent. Bathroom lighting is 1 low light. No vanity light. Makeup mirror light doesn’t work. Shower curtain is rusty and uneven. Yuck. This could be a nice hotel but attention to details are missing.
Wonderful B&B!! Large, beautiful room! And, our hostess, Rosa, is a gem!! On top of which, she loves dogs!! Plus, a wonderful breakfast!! We wish we lived closer to visit again soon!!!
Not a thing!!
took dogs
wasn’t very convenient
The bed was relatively comfortable. Maid was nice. 1 girl on the front desk was really friendly.
Bathroom was really dark and ill lit. Stayed several nights and breakfast was poor and exactly the same everyday. Except the one piece of white bread on offer was toasted two of the days. No butter or condiments. A LAZY, terrible and shamefull offering. The rest of the staff were like zombies. Strange and disappointing place. A so called boutique hotel with zero personality.
The hotel is charming throughout. From the gorgeous rooms to the delightful sitting nooks all tastefully decorated. A lovely rooftop Cafe for breakfast features a telescope where you can take a closer look at the cathedral and the surrounding mountains. A short walk to the zocolo. Great staff - friendly and very helpful. Very comfortable bed. Nice and quiet.
Our room had a small kitchenette and a coffee maker. However there were no cups, cutlery or anything for taking advantage of the kitchen. Perhaps you have to ask for those. This was a pretty minor thing though.
Staff very kind , the Hotel in the center of Tepic
None, not applicable
The room was not large enough to open 2 suitcases in without laying one on the bed. The bathroom was so small that you had to sit sideways on the toilet or your knees would hit the wall in front of you. You had to turn sideways and sidestep to get past the toilet to enter the shower.
I loved this place! Such unique decorative decor that make the rooms feel homey....plants, macrame, wood slab coffee table. And central courtyard is amazing, festooned with plants, it feels like a sanctuary. Everything was very clean, bed comfortable, my dog and cats were very welcome. Although parking is in a secure lot around the corner, just pull up to the front of the hotel and the staff is ready to carry your luggage to your room. The location is excellent in the center of town, so you should get out and wander around. It is a beautiful town! I think I will return and stay for a few days to explore more. If you want a standard, sterile hotel experience, this isn't the place for you. It is unique and proud of it.
Evacuated during a hurricane and they accepted my cat. Very nice staff members.
Pillows horrible, candy stuck to duvet cover, no hot water, very noisy
very accommodating, we evacuated due to a hurricane and had two dogs and two cats with us. the staff was very helpful in helping us to unload and load up the cars.
could use a microwave instead of a gas stove, no utensils in the room but if you asked they brought for us. also, breakfast was delivered as we could not leave our pets inside alone. very helpful.
Staff tried hard
The electricity was out when I arrived.... they kept saying it would be fixed in an hour....it too 5 hours but they gave me some gorgeous pecan pie.
All Employees was very helpfull and friendly! Thomas Manager great Man! Naer old District from Tepic 5 Minutes to go!
Todo
I definitely enjoyed having an ample amount of towels in the bathroom. The hotel spared no expense in getting name brand water for the hotel guests. The WiFi was exceptional.
Nothing--- I enjoyed my stay.
