Ein wunderschönes Guesthouse direkt am Strand, mit viel Liebe zum Design eingerichtet. Wir hatten die Zimmer mit Meerblick und diese waren sehr schön und liebevoll eingerichtet. Besonders gefallen hat uns der Raum mit dem großen Tisch, gemütlichen Sitzecken, dem Kamin und der Küche, in dem man Abends mit einem Wein aus der Honesty Bar den Sonnenuntergang genießen konnte und morgens das Frühstück serviert wurde. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, mit vielen frischen Zutaten wie Tomaten, Paprika, Gurke und frischem Obst neben Avocado, Käse und Joghurt. Wir kommen wieder!

Der Pool ist viel kleiner als er auf den Bildern wirkt.

The views were amazing! Tranquil and relaxing. The staff were so professional. A huge thank you Bolewka, Porshe and Bongi. They were amazing! Breakfast was so delicious and the evenings with the fireplace going made the atmosphere so cosy. The rooms were comfortable and we especially enjoyed the fact that we were literally a few feet from the beach. Restaurants were close by and we were given great recommendations

Tucked just a few steps from Bekbaai beach in Paternoster, with sweeping views of Tietiesbaai, this place feels like a coastal haven. The staff are genuinely warm and welcoming, and the breakfast is nothing short of exceptional. The living area is beautifully decorated, with a fireplace that invites you to linger. Unlimited coffee and tea, an honesty pub, tasty snacks, good reads, and a cosy dining space all add to the homely ambience. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at ease—warm, inviting, and full of character.

We had a great stay here with the Ganana family. Epic spot, great attention to detail. Beautiful right on the beach. Amazing breakfast. Loved every moment there, what a treat :)

You can here the people get ready for breakfast at 8am but then it was time to get up anyway :)

Lovely setting & accomodation.

Only 2 of the six units were occupied, they could've put us in a front sea view room instead of a back facing room without a view.

Das charmante Guesthouse liegt an einem schönen, idyllischen Strand, mitten in der Natur. Die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll und gemütlich. Die Betten sind äusserst bequem. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig und die Angestellten sind äusserst zuvorkommend.

Ein kleines, schönes am Strand von Paternoster gelegenes Gästehaus. Toller Balkon im allgemeinen Gästebereich mit Blick auf das Meer, welchen wir besonders beim Frühstück genossen haben. Nette freundliches, sehr aufmerksames Personal. Tolles Frühstück. Saubere Zimmer. Gesamte Anlage sehr gepflegt.

When we arrived at the guesthouse, each of us were forced to sign a document before they would give us our room key. It is a fine-print document which perhaps many people do not read and simply sign on demand. The document is, inter alia, a liability waiver wherein they indemnify themselves, amongst other things, against their own potential negligence towards guests. The document is worded purely in favour of the guesthouse and to the legal detriment of paying guests who are told they are obliged to sign it. If they insist on this document being signed by guests, the document should be disclosed as part of the booking process so that guests can decide before making the booking if they wish to proceed.

De plek, het personeel was super vriendelijk. Lekkere bedden. Top ontbijten. 50 m vanaf strand. Prachtig uitzicht op de kustlijn.

De trap naar boven slaapvertrek was niet prettig om te belopen in het appartement. Maatvoering klopt niet. Naar WC gaan beneden is dan nachts niet prettig

Bedroom on ground floor with a bedroom above it. Woodern floor boards as ceiling. Excessive noise until after midnight from guests in the room above walking around, talking, dragging items around and dropping items onto the floor. Non intentional I'm sure. This noise disturbance again began early in the morning. So to get decent sleep was just a wishful dream.

Close proximity to the beach and all restaurants. It is an intimate town. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful.

There was no TV to watch my sports, but this wasn't a deal breaker. I will definitely come again, even if there's no TV.

The staff were great and very helpful . Everything you need is provided . Very clean .

We had two bad nights sleep .. we were in no 3 directly under the eating area . Can hear everything above. If I had to be really critical ..coffee was average . Coffee is a game changer for me personally .

Could not find a hairdryer in my room. No mirror in the room at a plug point.

We unfortunately only stayed one night at this beautiful guesthouse, but it left a lasting impression on us. From the incredibly dedicated and warm-hearted staff—who take such wonderful care of you while still ensuring complete privacy—to the stunning design and thoughtfully curated facilities throughout the property, everything was simply exceptional. The comfortable beds, the perfect beachfront location, and the lovingly prepared breakfast made our stay all the more special. We truly loved every moment. We will definitely be back and will gladly recommend Gonana Guesthouse to our family & friends if they’re planning a trip to Paternoster. An absolute gem!

Sehr tolles kleines Hotel direkt am Wasser. Zimmer schön gestaltet mit Terrasse direkt zum Meer. Sehr leckeres Frühstück in einem schönen Raum mit toller Terrasse und super Blick aufs Meer. Kleiner, aber schöner Pool.

Lage perfekt, Zugang direkt zum Strand 🏝️

Die Lage direkt am Strand ist traumhaft! Die Aussicht vom Frühstücksbereich ist einzigartig und wunderschön! Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die gesamte Unterkunft war sehr sauber. Besonders gut hat uns der Pool gefallen. Der Empfang (inklusive Begrüßungsdrink) und der Service war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir haben uns direkt wohl gefühlt. Die Einrichtung war gemütlich und an die Umgebung angelehnt. Die Terrasse im Gemeinschaftsbereich lud zu jeder Tageszeit zum verweilen ein. Es gab ein großzügiges Angebot an Getränken und Snacks, die zu einem minimalen Aufpreis erworben werden konnten. Darüber hinaus bietet die Unterkunft bei Bestellung am Morgen für den Abend ein leichtes Abendessen an (haben wir aber nicht ausprobiert). Besonders hervorzuheben sind die Gemütlichkeit der Betten sowie die Sauberkeit!

Wir waren leider nur eine Nacht vor Ort.

Sehr ansprechende funktionale Zimmereinrichtung, absolut ruhig, direkt am Strand mit herrlichem Blick aufs Meer für alle Gäste. Frühstück großzügig und individuell zubereitet. Alles bestens.

Frukosten var fantastisk. Läget på stranden unikt. Vacker inredning som känns inbjudande, blandning av sydafrikansk och Nordisk design. Många av restaurangerna i Paternoster är turistfällor, men det är ju inte Gonanas fel. Vi skulle ha testat light dinner som erbjuds på Gonana istället.

The location right on the beach is unique. Everything is bright and modern, and the view at breakfast is fabulous.

A lot - there are NO cupboards in the rooms just a small hanging rail and a very small shelf - absolutely crazy unless you only have a backpack

We loved everything about this property. Beautiful location, comfortable and lovely rooms, a great living room with a magnificent view for breakfast, pre dinner drinks or just sit and read a book

De locatie, het uitermate vriendelijke Gonana-team,...

Het was echt meer dan fullhouse tijdens ons verblijf. Dit had voor gevolg dat het ontbijt in shifts werden georganiseerd, wat niet altijd vlot verliep. Dat was zeker niet aan de dames van het team te wijten, maar gewoon té veel gasten (ook van buitenuit...) voor de beperkte ruimte ontbijt.

Es gab mit einer der beiden managerinnen eine sehr unfreundliche Begrüßung, das ging auch anderen Gästen so. Die Stimmung im Service extrem schlecht. Das guesthouse ist schön, die Lage sehr gut, aber es wird schlecht geführt. Keine safe, keine laundry, ei mit speck und Pilzen, nur eine beilage geht und so weiter....

The view was spectacular. The beds were super comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.

The location,staff, breakfast all great.

We had room five a queen room with a pool view from the window. The room was ok but the sound proofing was terrible from the room above and adjacent. You would need to be a heavy sleeper for this room. Unfortunately e are not. Also the sound of the adjacent entrance door being opened and shut in the middle of the night was not good.

Wonderful location right in front of a beautiful beach. Really enjoyed the living room and balcony upstairs for the views and sounds of the ocean. All the staff were impeccable.

Lovely and private. Very clean. Right on the beach. Own private pool. Cosy communal eating / relaxing area. Great views from the upper balcony.

The only thing was that it was a bit noisy at night / early morning as we had a downstairs room under another room and by the communal hallway.
