Reviewed Oct 4, 2025Gezellig hostel met gemeenschappelijke zitruimte met zicht op de tuin. In de tuin lopen 2 ponies. Ontbijt is inbegrepen, maar Irish breakfast is bijbetalen. Koffie en thee zijn altijd beschikbaar. Er is een taxi dienst naar Roundwood om 's avonds iets te gaan eten. In het hostel kunnen er overdag drank en snacks gekocht worden (incl. alcohol).
Er kon niet met kaart betaald worden voor de snacks.

Reviewed Oct 3, 2025Really therapeutic experience as an American expat living in Ireland for many years (2008) True Irish hospitality with a great mix of French, German and other cultured guests.I felt the warmth and conversation with the welcoming staff & others. Also, Roundwood is a village that punches way above its weight in food. The original owners of Avoca have a pub and coffee house with wonderful food and local produce. Pizza night on Wednesday and an extremely friendly staff. The pub is noticeably frequented by the dedicated locals. Fans of beer will love the Wicklow Wolf Brewery on tap. I’m in the food industry here in Ireland and was blown away. I was also really surprised at the level of cleanliness in Lus Mor house, with the backpacking community known for unavoidable muck(mud) on our boots. I left my second car key on the bed unknowingly and the owner had it returned to me straight away when I returned the next evening while I was parking whilst unashamedly admitting he’s jump starting his Land Rover van for guests at the moment 😎 Classic mix of Irish hospitality and humbleness. 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 Not to mention the Shetland ponies…absolute beauties. Sincere thanks to Lus Mor for their hospitality. Highly recommended!!!

Reviewed Oct 3, 2025Es war sehr nett bei den Volunteers und Ponies und es ist schade, dass das Lus Mor demnächst schließt. Das Konzept ist sehr liebevoll und sehr auf die Gäste ausgerichtet und der Standort für Wicklow-Way-Wanderer ideal gelegen.
Nichts woran man viel ändern kann. Nach Roundwood kommt man per Shuttle und Radwege oder Gehsteige an Landstraßen gibt es in der Gegend kaum, also läuft man notgedrungen auf der Straße, wenn man den Wicklow-Way verlässt.

Reviewed Oct 2, 2025Wij deden de Wicklow Way en Lus Mor was één van onze overnachtingen. Via een shortcut geraak je snel (ongeveer 1,5 km) op de route. We hadden hier een aangenaam verblijf! We verbleven in de ruime familiekamer met eigen badkamer. We hadden een prachtig uitzicht vanuit onze kamer en genoten dan ook van de mooie zonsopgang 's morgens. Het ontbijt was heel goed en het personeel was vriendelijk. Echt een aanrader!
Ze deden hun uiterste best om een gezond en uitgebreid lunchpakket mee te geven, maar jammergenoeg was er veel olie in waardoor onze bagage tegen etenstijd helemaal ondergelopen was.

Reviewed Oct 1, 2025The whole place is gorgeous, clean and comfy. The bathrooms and dorm rooms feel like being at home instead of a hostel. You can tell that the staff put their heart into it and it makes all the difference!!
The only thing I wasn't aware of is that you can't use the kitchen there, so don't plan on cooking. However, they have cutlery/plates/bowls, a microwave and kettle at disposable and the staff are very helpful.

Sehr kleiner Raum unter der Dachschräge, Trinkwasser nur an einem Hahn im Erdgeschoss, Gemeinschaftsbad mittelmäßig sauber, kaum Haken im Zimmer um nasse Klamotten aufzuhängen. Das 'kontinentale' Frühstück besteht aus Marmelade und Toast (kein Käse).

Reviewed Sep 18, 2025Entspannte Atmosphäre, ideal auch für Familien. Wir hatten eines der beiden Familienzimmer und waren für mehrere Nächte dort. Zwei sehr schöne Wanderungen konnten wir direkt ab der Unterkunft starten, für die übrigen und für das Abendessen hat sich das Mietauto sehr bewährt. Der nächste Ort ist 4 km entfernt, Kochen kann man nicht, es gibt aber eine Mikrowelle und den ganzen Tag Tee und Kaffee.
Das B&B wird im Nov. 2025 leider wegen Verkauf des Hauses dauerhaft seinen Betrieb einstellen. Sehr schade!

Reviewed Sep 11, 2025Beautiful location in the fields outside Dublin. A short drive to Roundwood town for meals and a quick drive to Glendalough for hiking. I visited as part of a road trip but there were plenty of hikers walking the Wicklow way. A warm and inviting space with friendly staff and generous brekky - would stay again!
It would be good to have another shared bathroom but not a big issue

1 unserer Matratzen im Doppelbett war (für mich ungewohnt) schon seeehr weich, konnte aber die 1 Nacht trotzdem gut schlafen.

Solo pudimos estar una noche, ya que teníamos que continuar nuestro viaje, pero nos hubiese gustado quedarnos más días. No dejaré de recomendarlo!

Net een balzaal 🤣 ´s Morgens kregen we het bezoek van een wild Sikahertje dat gras kwam grazen. Ze liet zich van redelijk dichtbij fotograferen. Dat was super!
De verwelkoming was wat koel. Het personeel is een beetje afstandelijk.

Reviewed Aug 13, 2025Hostel je na krásném místě, to je bez debat. Celkově působí velmi dobře a příjemně. Snídaně jsou moc fajn a možnost objednat si obědový balíček na výlet (a ještě vegetariánský) je super! Personál byl moc milý a vstřícný.
Strávili jsme tu celkem 3 noci. Sdílená koupelna by nebyla problém, ale sprcha je dohromady se záchodem a tak je při plně obsazené kapacitě (což jsme zažili všechny tři noci) fakt problém dostat se při večerním a raním provozu na záchod. Samostatný pokoj je fajn, ale dveře (naše a vedlejší ještě k tomu dost slušně vrzaly) slouží prakticky jen k tomu, aby nebylo vidět dovnitř. Jinak je slyšet komplet všechno. Jako byste byli na dovolené s ostatními obyvateli. Vybavení je velmi skromné (což je v pořádku, je to hostel), ale postel byla skoro na spadnutí a matrace připomínala vodní lůžko. V momentě kdy se jeden otočí, s druhým to hází jak na vlnách. Na jedno rychlé přespání asi fajn, ale víc nocí se v našem případě neosvědčilo.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2025Zimmer und Essen waren gut und sauber. Das Gebäude liegt etwas abseits, daher ist es dort sehrr ruhig. Es gibt eine Möglichkeit mit einem Shuttle zum Essen nach Roundwood zu fahren. Es gibt Zugänge zum Wicklow Way.
ich kann nicht sagen, dass mir das nicht gefallen hat, aber die Zufahrt geht über Schotterwege und ist für Motorräder teils schwierig zu befahren.

Fresh sheets and towel provided. Pillow was comfy. Bathroom was bright and fresh and clean. Places to sit and relax and drink a cup of tea or coffee.
Gaining entry to the property involved opening and closing a gate - not really a massive issue - they have two ponies so the gate needs to be shut when not in use. I totally didn't mind - just didn't know what else to write in this box.
