The Old Borough Hotel - Wetherspoon

My stay was pleasant and comfortable. I have a mobility problem and the manager took my case to my room and when I left the next morning - VERY early, there was a lovely cleaner, who helped me with the case again: that alone, both times, was very kind. The room was lovely.

We were warned when we made the reservation that parking is minimal in the small lot in from of the hotel. We were lucky to get a spot but if not would have had to do a paid spot some ways away from the hotel.

Comfortable, nice friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and a good location for us as we had been to Dublin and we were en route to Belfast so it was a good location for us

TV had to be set up by staff after I arroved and complsined not working. Had to phone two over 45 mins to get something done. Room cool and not clear how to fix. Decor dated

Prices like nowhere else in Dublin. Have stayed here on several occasions now. Great spot and great location. Rooms are very nice

Prima locatie voor 1 nacht! Dichtbij vliegveld. Super goedkoop eten en drank! En was prima van kwaliteit! Aardig personeel kamers zijn schoon en netjes

We were blown away by our room - beautiful original brick, fireplace, and high ceilings. It felt a little like we were staying in a castle! The room was also spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and modern. We were concerned it would be loud with the pub/restaurant below, but the thick brick walls snubbed out all the sound and it was very quiet. They also had climate control in-room, which was a first on our Ireland trip. We had a great sleep here!

There's virtually zero parking at the hotel or in the streets around it. We had to park a fair bit away to find a spot and carry all our luggage back. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, but a bit stressful as it's in a very busy location and would have been a bit miserable had it been raining (which it often does).

Location to the airport. Staff were great, able to eat at restaurant in the pub which was convenient. Quiet location. Large room, clean and comfy.

Zero parking in reality, only enough spaces for 12 cars max, and that’s with sardine can parking. In addition, being a busy pub, that equates to zero parking for guests. They should not advertise as “parking available” even with the existing qualification, this means they don’t get included in searches that specify onsite parking available, because in practice they actually don’t have parking. available for guests. For this reason I will not stay with them again. The 11am checkout time wasn’t appreciated either.

In a great location

Bedroom had obviously been a smoking bedroom at some point. The shower tray was in a poor state and the sealant needed to be replaced- we did not shower due to condition of the shower. Bed was a very small double which seemed to be broken at the bottom

We were a little intimidated at first but the place turned out to be absolutely great. Friendly people, great food, very nice rooms. Worked out for us - 2 adults, 3 kids - just right.

Das Zimmer war gross und sauber, es gab eine gut bestückte Kaffeebar. Der Pub unten im Hotel bot auch um 22.00h noch ein leckeres Abendessen an -toll nach einer anstrengenden Anreise. Vom Flughafen aus unkompliziert zu erreichen.

Das Zimmer hatte kein Fenster! Es gab zwar eine kleine Dachluke, über die man etwas Hinel sehen konnte, aber es gab keine Möglichkeit zum Lüften und die Klimaanlage war zum Schlafen zu laut

Adorable! I wish we could have enjoyed all of the amenities but we arrived at around 8 pm and had to be at airport 11 hours later. The pub/ restaurant was very popular and had a lovely vibe. The hotel room and bathroom were beautiful. It took a moment to figure out how to use the sky light but it was a neat surprise. We had about 30 minutes to walk through the “mall” that was across the street before it closed. The town would have been fun to explore if time had permitted. Don’t hesitate to book!

Parking was limited however the manager walked outside with me to look at the small parking lot and told me where we could squeeze in.

Rooms are tidy and clean, beds really comfortable, and the location is superb, 15min bus away from both terminals… while being at a cozy town with nice pubs to have a drink or eat something.

The hotel is a series of rooms atop a large pub, reception is part of the bar counter. As a hotel it works, rooms are securely separated. Not knowing so can be offputting, theres no hotel clam common areas. Totally fine for a airport one night stay!

Location was great

The room was very small and smelled weird. There was mould stained silicone in the shower and the drainage didn't work well, had to take a quick shower, otherwise the bathroom floor would be flooded. There was no shampoo, no hair conditioner. The remote control for the tv didn't work and a lamp was partially blocking the tv. The rooms are on the first floor and there isn't a lift, I can walk up the stairs just fine, but it definitely wasn't wheelchair friendly and I would expect that from a 4 star hotel.

It was very close to the airport and was in the middle of town where you could walk around for the day.

The window opened up to the outdoor bar area - which was very loud.

We usually stay in a room 105 with windows & walk in shower. This stay we were assigned a room with skylight & bath shower. The dresser table chair had food lodged in the back of seat. A ton of dust stuck to the light shade that kept blowing onto the bed when a/c is on. As I have mentioned on previous reviews here the bar & outdoors courtyard needs a good cleaning. Wooden floors instead of carpet in bar. When sitting outside the area is never swept or tables not wiped down. You stuck to the table top! Staff only come out and collect empty glasses. Not cleaning the areas!! Management please take note.

The parking…

De korte afstand was onze reden om te boeken. Koffie en thee is bij het ontbijt gratis voor hotelgasten. Ruime keus qua ontbijt (vers uit de keuken) kleine prijzen voor ook wel (fijn!) kleinere gerechten. Het hotel wordt goed bezocht. Het was er gezellig druk. Parkeren voor de deur was ook heel fijn!

Wij kregen een kamer zonder raam maar met lichtkoepel. Dat is ons niet bevallen. Wij vonden het beklemmend aanvoelen.

Parking was struggle, parked free nearby until the evening when a space became available. TV service was terrible, intermittent signal.

We didn’t actually get to stay here as on arrival we were told our booking had been cancelled. The staff told us this wasn’t the first time this had happened and said it was down to booking, com. This has never happened with any of our other booking.com reservations as we always book through them. Really disappointing as we arrived for a 2 night stay and had to find alternative accommodation. Luckily we had rented a car so we were able to drive out of Swords as no other availability nearby.

Quarto amplo, local sossegado e numa região bonita. Fica a uns 15 minutos do aeroporto, o que evita trânsito movimentado de Dublin.

The way it has been renovated suits the old building.

The bar. Both inside and outside. It needs a facelift to brighten it up. The carpeted area is grubby & smelly.

Das Zimmer hatte hohe Decken bis ins Dach, eine sehr coole Einrichtung und die Unterkunft war nach dem Flug einfach gut zu erreichen. Um die Ecke ist ein kleines Cafe, wenn man auf echt irisches Breakfast noch keinen Appetit hat.

The room was spacious and clean. Loved the skylights with remote opening and blinds. The bath was large and modern. AC was great. Well done on the room! The historical woodwork throughout was beautiful with a bar/restaurant that COULD be charming. Food and drinks were inexpensive. It was an easy, short drive to the airport. Overall good value and convenient.

It was not obvious how to check in when we first arrived: I was directed to the bar. Someone mentioned there is a lift, but we never found it so lugged our bags up and downstairs. We got lucky and found a parking spot in the very small lot in front, but it would have been expensive it we had to buy street or lot parking elsewhere. The restaurant was tacky despite its potential - the big menu banners all over the place were ugly and unnecessary. Food was not especially good, and ordering at the bar was harder than it needed to be. Swords is run down - not a destination spot.

Room was poor, too hot, flies everywhere, toilet was loose on wall and bed was not comfy. not a great entrance and had no idea where to heck in etc

everything, all of above was a big issue for me. More of a bar than a hotel. I certainly would not recommend this place.

Proximité Aeroport.

The location was good, near the castle and transport to town. The rooms were updated, larger than usual and the beds were very comfortable. Strangely, our room had no windows, only a skylight.

The hotel entry was very confusing, no real lobby with a way to check in. You had to cut through the large musty smelling restaurant, and chase down restaurant staff to get questions answered.

Nicely made up room, good shower, good hospitality tray, good location.

Preislich nicht gerade günstig, aufgrund der Hoteleigenen Bar im Erdgeschoss doch etwas laut bis Mitternacht und aufgrund von Durchzugstüren auch danach - wir sind etliche Male aufgewacht weil diverse Personen die Türen neben dem Zimmer zugeschmissen haben…
