高台にあって別府湾が一望にできました。露天風呂からも景色がみえて景色をひとりじめできました。 お料理も地元の食材を使っていたり、とてもおいしかったです。特にシイタケのスープがまたたべたくなるおいしさ。

部屋にはいったときに、カビ臭いと感じてしまったので、そこだけ残念です。

An amazing design hotel, wonderful architecture on the hillside looking down to the town. Sitting out on the balcony at dawn or sunset was such a tranquil experience. So many photogenic spots around the hotel.

Although they are many onsens and bath houses nearby I wish they had a hotel spa.

Petit déjeuner qualitatif mais assez réduit en libre service , avec quelques plats à commander trop compliqués ou trop élaborés pour un petit déjeuner . Mériterait plus de choix en libre acces pour faire sa composition soi même .

食事が素晴らしかったです レストランのスタッフが食材やメニューの説明をして下さり一段と味わい深くなりました 見た目にも美しくお味も最高でした 和牛のステーキ、また食べに来ます！ アフタヌーンティーも美味でした

ホテルの立地がイマイチかなぁ〜 高台に位置していて周辺にお店があるわけではないです 車で来られたら良いですけどね 良くある温泉地のように浴衣を来て商店街を散歩というわけには行かないです

お風呂のロケーションと風呂場からの直接出入り可能なテラスとか最高でした!隣りの部屋との干渉もなく、ある意味ではお忍び旅に適しているのかも知れないですね!（家内も芸能人とか来るんじゃないって言ってました）

ホテルまでの道が分かりにくかったです。迷いました。まさに、お忍び旅の様に。（笑）

服務人員剛好遇到有一位是台灣人溝通上面沒有問題，我覺得得很親切，環境很好拍，遇到下雨跟起霧...神秘感更提升氛圍...

整潔度...細節部分有待加強.椅子下蟑螂兩晚都沒清潔到...

Beautifully designed with attention to detail on most things.

Room uses a Roomba for cleaning, although I am not sure if it does a good job since some footprints are still visible on the floor.

Location is very inconvenient. And the lighting is too dimm. It’s dark especially the bathroom and onsen. A lot of mosquitoes.

Loved the private Onsen and the views from the balcony. The hotel itself was an artwork and we loved every corner of it. The room we had was super stylish and fully equipped. The amenities were one of the best we've had and they even had amazing coffee.

The breakfast was too expensive for what they offered. The location is not well connected to public transport but the hotel does offer shuttle services on a hourly basis (must be pre-booked) to the city center.

We liked the room size, which was quite spacious and comfortable. The location worked well for us since we were traveling by car. The staff were friendly.

The cleanliness of the glass doors in the toilet and shower areas could be improved. In addition, the lighting in both the shower room and toilet was quite dim, making the space feel darker than expected. The water feature near the entrance, located in front of our room, also appeared somewhat not clean. Improving its cleanliness would create a much better first impression for guests.

The staff was very, very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is a bit out of the way, which is ideal for relaxing, but if you want to take a quick trip into town, it takes about an hour and a half to walk back. The room’s amenities are simply luxurious, and the view is breathtaking. If you get up early in the morning and take your time, you can watch a beautiful sunrise over the entire Beppu Bay—and the sulfur onsen bathtub, of course, invites you to relax.  Breakfast was excellent (pancakes 😍🤤), the bar staff were very friendly, and the drinks were great. The building itself is quite unique, with lots of art and a secret that makes it worth seeking out. 😊 I’d love to come back.

I love whole artistic concept of the hotel and its galleristic look. You really feel like you are stayin in special place. From point of architekture there is always corner, angle, small part what surprises you. Room was also great looking and very practically organized. View outside from 5th floor was amazing. I love how hotel tries to give you best instructions. Everything is translated into english. Even navigation for AC remote controller. Onsen in the room was heaven. Breakfast have nice selection to order from and very calming vibe. There are only 35 rooms in the Midobaru and that’s why you will never feel to crowded in the morning. Last day we flew quite early to Tokyo and they were so lovely in the Peak restaurant that they prepared for us breakfast package. Twice we ate also in Japanese restaurant. It was really nice meal. Guys at reception were superhelpful and trying to fulfill any wish or demand of ours.

Hard to find something. Its not in real what I didnt like but I would like to point for others who will read this review. Because you are in the town of hot streams with sulfur water, there is particular smell of water. For someone can be disturbing but should be not. Be also aware water works everywhere with its composition and temperature. That’s why u see in the room white dots on the stone in shower or snaps on the floor. But that’s completely natural process of water in whole Beppu. And maybe one thing what was less comfortable. Always running Water in onsen is super hot and you definitely need to cool it down which of course takes some time. One day we stayed whole day in the room and just relaxed. When we got hungry we wanted to order from hotel restaurant take away food which is also possible. But from 5.30 pm only so we needed to wait maybe two hours. But we survived :)

The hotel building itself feels like a piece of art and has a very special atmosphere. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the onsen was excellent with a beautiful view that made the experience very relaxing. The welcome drink was also a very nice touch and made the stay feel extra special.

The lighting in the shower and toilet area was a bit too dark. There was also a slight sulfur smell in the room due to the onsen, which may bother some guests, although it is understandable for a hot spring hotel in Beppu.

El edificio es muy bonito y el personal muy amable. Llegamos tarde la primera noche y nos subieron la cena a la habitación.

Sin embargo, deja mucho que desear; Las habitaciones y la bañera mucho más pequeñas de lo que parece en las fotos La TV está situada en un sitio muy poco cómodo Las luces automáticas son muy molestas (tuvimos que tapar el detector) Los pasillos al aire libre son molestos si hace viento o llueve. La iluminación del tocador es malísima, no puedes maquillarte bien. Hace muchísimo calor, creo que el edificio es bonito por fuera pero está muy mal diseñado para que sea práctico para los huéspedes. No volvería, muy caro por lo poco práctico que ha sido.

Our stay was once again a perfect relaxing gateway! Convenient parking on site, friendly staff, perfect room with a gorgeous view of Beppu. Most importantly private onsen bath located on the balcony with a view of an ocean. Beds are wide and comfortable.

We’re juz afraid we’ll miss the hotel pickup car, so hotel may provide more photos of waiting area and the van to make sure guests can wait at the right place

Staff were decently friendly. View was good. Easy parking.

The room felt dirty and everything was just dark. Bed was hard, bedsheet quality wasn’t fantastic. Breakfast and dinner options were kinda expensive. No blackout curtain. Disappointing for Japan.

Overall design style, service, and scenery.

The carpet and floor were not very clean, and both the backrest and seat of the lounge chair on the balcony were moldy, and the breakfast offered limited choices aside from the main dish.

* Absolutely stunning—felt like staying inside a piece of art. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful and quiet. The private bath was amazing, and the bed and pillows were perfectly balanced—not too soft, not too firm. * The room was very spacious, fully equipped with all amenities, and had a balcony, making it perfect for relaxation. * The location is close to Umi Jigoku, which is very convenient for sightseeing. * There is plenty of parking available

* There was a slight sulfur smell in the room, likely from the natural hot spring water. It was mild and understandable, and didn’t affect sleep at all. * If you don’t have a car, getting into the city to find food might be a bit inconvenient.

Hotel d art avec chambres immenses et tres agreable avec onsen sur le balcon. Diner plutot agreable meme si assez occidentalisé. Belle selection de vins au verre et champagne. Petit dejeuner avec petit buffet mais chiix d un beau plat sucré ou sale.

Personnel non formé. Tres beau bar mais pratiquement aucune offre (pas de vins, 2 cockails...) et barman qui est aussi à l acceuil, pas du metier. Peu de personnel formé au restaurant, erreurs de plats, erreur sur facture, service tres approximatif... ce lieu merite de belles formations pour etre à la hauteur de ce qu il let en avant.

This place was amazing, we did not want to leave! We booked this hotel as part of our honeymoon trip and it did not disappoint, they had cute towel swans made congratulating us on our recent marriage. Most spacious hotel room we have ever stayed in Japan. Very calm atmosphere, comfortable bed and great views. The private onsen was the best feature of the room, we enjoyed it day and night. Will definitely be back!

Le design « architecte » de l’hôtel , la chambre exceptionnelle qui est grande , confortable avec l’onsen extérieur et la belle terrace avec vue sur la baie de Beppu. Unique . Literie de très grande qualité . Calme de l’hôtel bien insonorisé . Parking gratuit avec nombreuses places . Salle de restaurant très belle . Équipe anglophone très professionnelle.

Il manque une machine Nespresso dans la chambre et au petit déjeuner . Aucun cadeau de bienvenue à l’arrivée dans la chambre : le frigo est vide . Ajouter quelques boissons gratuites serait apprécié de même que une coupe de fruits ou quelques gâteaux. Dommage vu les prestations exceptionnelles . Le dîner est très cher et aucune proposition japonaise . Et l’autocollant remis pour avoir rempli le questionnaire de satisfaction est ridicule .

The staff were very kind. The breakfast and dinner were nice. The room and hotel were literally an art gallery.

The drive path to the hotel is steep and narrow. The location of the hotel is far from city center.

The staff are excellent and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The in room hot bath was exceptional....soooo good. The hotels style and vibe was very impressive. The peak restaurant food was brilliant and well paced. Even checking out early they provided a take away breakfast which was the we have had...

Some time it is the little things...so the phone is the room did not work... so ordering drinks or room service we had to fo down to the reception area. The stylish ju mg in the room leaked when you boiled water.

The in room onsen was amazing and the space was designed beautifully with gorgeous views and sweet staff.

My boyfriend has a deadly peanut allergy and we were bummed that we couldn’t order anything from the restaurant or cafe so that we could stay in. Transportation to the main part of Beppu made it so you had to time correctly with limited public transport or hire a taxi…. We found a great spot for vegan hotpot though.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Having the onsen bath in our room was a wonderful convenience. We enjoyed all of the dishes (crab pasta, Caesar salad, Marguerite pizza, fried chicken and potatoes).

Not really something we didn’t like, but there were few restaurants and no convenience stores nearby.

我們這次訂兩間房間且連住兩晚，入住的其中一間房間免治馬桶故障，請服務人員來處理遇到英文溝通不良，檢查完畢以為運作正常，結果真正使用時還是無法使用，但另一間房間就沒這個問題，對我來說非常不方便，以這種高貴的房價換來這樣的品質真的不是很ok

宿泊代金が程々だったので、さほど期待していませんでしたが、スタッフの方々がとても親切で、お食事も朝食のバリエーションが豊富で選択でき、夕食もとても良かったです。欲を言えばデザートの種類（ゼリーやムースなど）さっぱりした物があったら嬉しいです。建築や展示されているアートを案内するツアーに参加すると、滞在がより楽しくなります。室内の建築とアートに関する書籍も興味深い内容でした。 各部屋の温泉風呂、時間を気にせず入浴できて、最高でした。また、訪れたいホテルでした。

ロケーションは別府湾や鉄輪温泉の湯けむりなど眺望できますが、高速道路が近くに見えて夜は少し車の音が気になりました。
