Provider-sourced guest reviews.
We have just returned from a 2 week stay in Green Fig Resort - and we had a perfect holiday. Yes there were a few steps from our room to the restaurant but to be honest we didnt find it too much of an issue. The walk into Soufriere is quite steep coming back but again just take your time and enjoy the view - you are on holiday after all! There is a free shuttle bus if you cant manage the walk but we never used it. Our room was lovely and the view was amazing, the restaurant was again lovely with stunning views and delicious food. We also renewed our vows at the resort and the staff went above and beyond making our day super special (especially as we decided to do it very last minute) Everything was decorated beautifully, they sorted everything for us, we had champagne and canapés and the chef sorted us a lovely Coconut cake. Even fresh flowers were given to us and when we went back to our room it was decorated with loads of balloons, petals, lights and flowers- was just beautiful. The staff are amazing and super friendly and especially want to mention Rocana, Hartley, Lee, Tasha and Misha who put up with us every day. We sorted most of our trips through reception and nothing was too much trouble and we were lucky enough to be there for Soufriere Carnival which we absolutely loved (even the very early start 😅) our personal experience of Green Fig was brilliant and we want to thank everyone working there for making our first visit to St Lucia one of the best holidays we've ever had. I cant really understand the latest review on here about rancid food etc and moaning about the steps - seemed a very unfair review to me and I had the seafood a few times and it was delicious - as for the steps- it clearly states that there are steps and the hotel is built on the edge of a rainforest on the side of a hill - in my opinion yhink it was a very unfair review.
**DISASTROUS EXPERIENCE — I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GREEN FIG RESORT** Our stay at Green Fig Resort was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Dinner was appalling. We were served shellfish that smelled rancid as it came from the kitchen, yet the server actually encouraged us to try it. We became ill and ultimately sought hospital care. The $40 chicken dinner was so dry it was like chicken jerky served with rice — completely unacceptable for a property presenting itself as a resort. The problems started before we even reached our room. There was no reasonable place to unload luggage, followed by roughly 100 steep, jagged and uneven stairs to our room. I booked a resort because I expected to enjoy the pool, bar, restaurant and property. Instead, the entire experience was stressful and unpleasant. When I repeatedly asked through WhatsApp about their refund policy, I could not get a straight answer. After asking multiple times, I returned around 9:30 PM to discover my key no longer worked and my belongings had been packed up and left in the lobby. My passport was still locked in the room safe, and my medication was missing from my belongings. Thankfully, my CPAP machine was not damaged. I was essentially displaced late at night in an area where transportation is extremely limited. Fortunately, a friend had an Airbnb nearby where I could stay. Otherwise, I genuinely do not know what I would have done. This was not the relaxing resort experience I paid for. Between the food, safety concerns, treatment by staff, handling of my personal belongings and complete lack of customer care, this stay was an absolute disaster. **I would never stay at Green Fig Resort again and strongly recommend that travelers carefully consider these issues before booking
Everything was perfect, from staff to food to the place n location
Amazing experience, wonderful staff, incredible views!
I’m just going to let the photos speak. There are so many things I could say, but they will be disputed by the manager so there’s no point. We moved at our own expense as soon as we could.
Hotel was amazing and staff were incredible!!!!! In particular Kelsey went out of her way to help with tours and how to make the most out of this island She was so patient and kind and made everything amazing Definitely recommend
We stayed here for a week in July, the location is only 10 minutes from sugar beach, the drive in volcano, and local supermarket. The staff at green fig were incredible nice and very accommodating. The views from our room were amazing, the room was clean, and you can't beat it for the price. They have a full kitchen that serves lunch and dinner plus you get free breakfast. Noise level was quiet and very peaceful throughout our stay. We enjoyed it very much, thank again!
Enjoyed my stay from start to finish . A true paradise with incredible views of the pitons. Neisser the host is awesome she’s there for anything and everything which really made the difference in my trip and experience (kelsey too). You can’t beat the value . My room was very comfortable with a great balcony views, I didn’t wanna leave .The amenities are a bonus with a few pools strategically located near your room . The food at the cafe is superb variety and quality with the ambiance of the majestic pitons. Finally, after a long hike the spa on premise left me feeling brand new thanks to laurina . I hope one day I can get back here ,this place was a dream come true .
Beautiful property, very friendly staff, they gave us a nice upgrade without even asking.
Food/cocktails were rather pricey.
View from room was fantastic. Enjoyed the meals.
I knew beforehand but lots of stairs. I use a cane but walked slow and careful. Well worth the effort to enjoy the excellent view.
I loved the location as it is very close to the town. However, be warned of the steep incline to get to the property. Beautiful views. Loved the private terrace. The cats and kittens that hung out outside our room were an amazing bonus. It’s a great place to stay
The breakfast was a bit depressing. I thought given the price breakfast would be included but you have to pay extra for eggs!! Which seemed abit unfair to me.
We spent a wonderful 11 days at Green Fig (couple with 2 teenage daughters). The setting and views are breathtakingly beautiful. We had great rooms with large balconies and everything you would need (fridge, efficient a/c, hairdryer, iron, tea and coffee making facilities, bottled water every day, safe). Housekeepers visited daily and did a good job. The staff were all helpful and friendly - especially the management team we met and Onion on the bar who entertained us every evening The hotel was very lively some days (loud evenings at the bar) but peaceful others (and you could always find a quiet spot if needed) Entertainment 7-8.30 3 or 4 times per week. Most days we had one of the three pools to ourselves. Food - menu quite small but everything we ate was tasty and well presented and good value compared to some of the neighbouring establishments. Communication via WhatsApp was efficient and the front desk arranged numerous tours for us. There are lots of steps as described so a certain level of fitness is needed (but also needed for most of the local trips as this is a very hilly area). It was noisy from the town most days and nights but we enjoyed hearing the local music. Watched the World Cup on the big tv (by request - it wasn’t on most of the time). Walk into town only 10 minutes but very steep hill so usually reserved the hotel shuttle back. Local beach was authentic and mainly frequented by locals and we enjoyed the atmosphere (and the roaming chickens). A bar and a couple of food stalls on the beach. Best trips (and best value) - the sunset catamaran tour, Tet Paul hike and Sapphire Falls. If we could come back every year we would!
the view and the staff were really nice
food in the restaurant was not good, the rooms they smell, supper smelly rooms, it was really uncomfortable, i would not recommand this place for couples.
Beautiful views of the Piton mountains and water overlooking the town of Soufriere (which means sulfer) from my balcony. (_•• all the rooms have a unique charm) Loved the romantic canopy bed and loft in mine. Staff, was friendly and attentive and caring. Spa with La, was breathtaking with open air view. Loved her energy, after my long journey. -Very relaxing way to Unwind. Onion the bar tender was entertaining to our whole group and fun. Michael and Dean the managers and Lee were all outstanding. Lance, one of the owners was very conscientious, hard working and kind. Lots of stairs bcuz it’s built into a hill - but the views are worth it. My legs got in better shape for it ! The staff (Gilute) helped me to my room with my bags, while showing me around. (Also, they can bring them up for you when you depart.) Front desk will help with anything you’d like to do. any cabs or tours or spa experiences- Botanical gardens or hot springs and mudd baths. I am a world traveller. Highly recommend. If you are visiting St Lucia. A unique and special air b n b. Made even better by their property management team. Also, I might recommend a water taxi to the night party/market they have up North on the weekend. (But they can also help you find a driver) We tried the Tree house restaurant which was also stellar. The food at the hotel Green Fig was good too. I enjoyed the crab cakes appetizer!
Great staff members like: Lee, Ro, and Hartley, made our stay very enjoyable. This is a great resort for folks like us, who enjoy staying at a "real" hotel versus a cheesy all-inclusive resort. And the local feel of the town of Soufriere was perfect for us, along with the excellent condition of the reefs. We will be back.
My wife and I had a wonderful time at The Green Fig, the view was spectacular and the staff was great! Especially Lee, she made us feel like family. Such a natural and peaceful setting. Onion, the bartender, as well as Hartley, were experts at their craft and willing to help us in anyway possible. It was just a fantastic experience and I look forward to going again.
My husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary at Green Fig Resort and honestly, it was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had! From the breathtaking views to the peaceful atmosphere, everything about this resort screams paradise. Waking up every morning surrounded by the beauty of Soufrière with the stunning Pitons in the background felt unreal. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, always welcoming us with warm smiles and exceptional service. The rooms were beautiful, clean, cozy, and perfectly set for a romantic getaway. The food? Absolutely amazing — every meal was a 10/10 experience! What truly made Green Fig unforgettable was the vibe. It’s the perfect mix of luxury, relaxation, romance, and authentic Saint Lucian beauty. Whether you’re looking for a honeymoon spot, anniversary getaway, or simply a peaceful escape, this is THE place to be. Thank you Green Fig Resort for helping us create memories we’ll cherish forever. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️🇱🇨✨
We had a lovely stay at the green fig! We did lots of scuba diving and the location of the green fig made for a quick walk down to the dive shop. We got our steps in for sure but they were well rewarded with yummy meals and fun drinks! All of the staff were extremely kind and helpful and other guests were very friendly. The room was clean and air conditioned, there are 3 pools and beautiful views of the town of Soufrière and of the Petit Piton. This was a very peaceful place to stay and felt very comfortable and safe, I would definitely recommend.
The green fig is a sweet, unique and beautiful experience. The people are very kind. The location is fabulous and so close to everything you would want to do on St. Lucia especially diving. The diving is magical.
Location and views are spectacular. Hotel is walking distance from town and the beach but, you must be fit to walk back as this place is built into the side of a hill overlooking town, the Pitons and the beach. If you don't feel like walking, they will arrange for their hotel shuttle to pick you up or drop you off. Since this place is built into the side of a hill, there are stairs to navigate no matter where you go on the property. If you can't handle a lot of stairs, stay in one of the rooms near the restaurant and bar as you will have fewer to navigate going from your room to the restaurant or leaving/arriving the property to go on your adventures. Food was very good for every meal we had during our weeks long stay. The best asset of this place though is the staff. They all rate amongst the best of anywhere we have traveled and we enjoyed interacting with everyone throughout or stay. Would definitely go back and stay again.
The scenic views were amazing.
We didn’t anticipate the stairs. We knew little about the property beforehand and so weren’t prepared to navigate the multiple steep stairs. My wife mobility issues.
Stunning views from the room and the bar / restaurant area. Fantastic location from which to explore all the soufriere activities inc mud baths, waterfalls, hotel chocolat, sugar beach, and while i was there the jazz festival. Lovely atmosphere in the pool/bar area. Great place to stay for a few days. Longer than that and id have struggled not having my own vehicle because it really adds up paying for taxis / trips.
Breakfast could be limited esp if you werent there early - for example they wouldnt replace the fruit. While you could order eggs, pancakes etc you had to pay extra- i think with limited changes this could be hugely improved. There are loads of steps but handily i was on the top level so didnt affect me but worth being aware if you have any mobility restrictions.
Swimming pool, piton view, and the bar(food and drink were nice)
1) lack of 24/7 reception desk 2) dirty windows 3) steps from lobby to the room needs modernising, we felt unsteady 4) a member of staff at the reception was not welcoming while others were absolutely fine 5) no telephone in the room to contact the reception 6) lack of variety in breakfast considering what we paid 7) our room(Bali suite) felt tired. It does not look like the photo. Bathroom felt dark and to turn on the main light, you need to stand on the ladder( + did not work on the first night, needed to request the reception to fix it)
We chose this because we wanted a nice view while dining and we were not disappointed. The room, bar and views alongside the staff were excellent. The food is superb, we ate here a few times, and never felt hungry or unsatisfied. The staff were excellent and we felt valued all week. They were more than happy to arrange shuttles and tours if you needed. Only things to consider would be it is a hillside resort so you will get the steps in going up and down to the rooms.
I am very disappointed with my stay at the Green Fig Resort in St. Lucia. The experience was far below expectations and absolutely not in line with the high price paid for the room. As shown in the attached photos, the buildings are shabby, poorly constructed, and generally badly maintained. The overall impression is one of neglect and lack of care, which is very surprising for a resort in this price range even if defined “eco lodge” The access to the rooms is particularly problematic. The stairs are steep, unsafe, and have very small steps, making them difficult to use and dangerous, especially when carrying luggage. This is not suitable for many guests and feels poorly designed. Service was another major issue. The staff appeared unmotivated and disengaged, often distracted by their phones while answering questions. There was a clear lack of interest in assisting guests or addressing their needs properly, which made the stay feel impersonal and frustrating. The continental breakfast was also very misleading compared to what I generally know as “continental breakfast” (see photos). In reality, it is extremely limited and poor in quality and quantity. Almost everything comes as an expensive extra, even items like an omelette, whee not even three ego are included despite being standard in most hotel and ridicolous as an extra with a night price like this. Overall, the experience was very disappointing and does not justify the high cost of the accommodation The only positive aspect of the stay was the incredible view of the Pitons, which is truly breathtaking and memorable.
Le lieu la vue
Petit dej compris très léger Bcp de marches à monter des chambres à la réception Dîner moyen et cher
The view was stunning. Perfect location
Great location with excellent view and close to all local sights.
Dinner menu was quite limited. Continental breakfast menu was quite basic. Quite a few steps to get around the resort so may be an issue if mobility is an issue.
Imagine majestic sunset views, gorgeous views of the hypnotizing blue- green waters of the Caribbean Sea, lush green vegetation and the most hospitable/accommodating staff on the planet. Green Fig Resort offers all of this. However, it also has a massive amounts of steps to traverse (30-40) as you come and go, go to breakfast, go to dinner, etc....it's exhausting. Would recommend to anyone looking for a really unique experience and/or a daily intensive cardio workout on steps. Loved, loved, loved our Petit Piton Suite King Suite w/Balcony accommodations and the entire staff!
Staff and room view excellent
Not that I did not like it but steep climbs up stairs everyday was a great workout
The staff were friendly and helpful, the view from room was amazing, the food was good most of the time and very good at times, good wine selection, very clean and spacious rooms.
The windows are not soundproof so loud music and barking is easily heard, also everything requires a taxi for beach days.
The only great part about this place was the view! The food was subpar, the hiking to everything was extreme, the value of the room was not as expected. It stayed a solid 76 degrees in the room, the spa was not available due to short staffing, and the breakfast that is included in the stay is not very good. I think i’ve had better breakfast at a Days Inn to say the least. All together, the only reason we stayed was because of the incredible view, that’s definitely what keeps this place in business!
Its was ok nothing extra , not really wow factor
The complimentary breakfast needs to be more inviting ot looks borec .uù
Beautiful views
Tough climb from town back to hotel. Steps. Continental breakfast very average, would be so easy to improve.
Quaint, small, friendly. Room was beautiful with great views
Somewhat worn…could use some fine tuning, replacement of “tired” outdoor furniture Very steep hillside steps and uneven but that seems to be everywhere on the island.
The location was wonderful. Rooms and service fantastic. Special thank you to all the staff who were immensely helpful including Kelsey, Cornell and Kinion.
Truly an exceptional experience from start to finish — the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, the views were simply dreamy, and every meal was delicious. The attention to detail in every aspect of the property did not go unnoticed. We stayed in a family suite, and without a doubt, this was the best experience we’ve had in all our Caribbean travels. We are already making plans to come back next year ❤️
From our first greeting with a rum punch and friendly hello, right to the day we (sadly) had to leave, our experience at Green Fig was outstanding! This facility is nothing like those huge hotel complexes, it seems so intimate yet it has what you want…..a great outdoor bar and restaurant, a number of pools, stunning views of Petit Piton and Soufriere Bay with gorgeous sunsets every night. It’s listed as having 49 rooms, but they are all spread out over a half dozen or more buildings spread out over 3-4 levels. A huge shout out to Rocana, Nisha and Tricia who we had many conversations with. The front desk staff are super helpful with recommendations, arranging taxi rides to everywhere we went near and far. You should definitely have staff book your taxis, they have a great team of drivers and you feel safe and comfortable with them all….more shout outs to Ravi, Jarvis, Matthew, Tyree, Erland and Daniel ! Free shuttle taxis to downtown (3 minute drive) was a great bonus. The food is well prepared, creative and most importantly very yummy. If you want to find a quirky, laid back place to stay that isn’t jammed with guests, its Green Fig all the way!
This hotel feels unique. It's built basically into the side of a hill and has an old mango tree that grows up through the restaurant deck. It's quite... special! This results in spectacular views from almost anywhere in the hotel (and a fair amount of steps). I visited with my friend in January 2026. It may sound strange given I was with a friend, bit we stayed in the romance suite, made practical by the huge and very comfortable king sized bed. We had a beautiful bathroom, a large balcony and little private 'plunge' pool right outside our door. The room was cleaned and made up every day and the tea and coffee stocked up. There was also a small fridge which was welcome in the heat and humidity of the Carribean as was the highly efficient air con. There are a number of pools around the hotel which make it possible to find both company and privacy depending on your preference. All are clean and well maintained. All the staff we encountered during our stay were friendly, helpful and polite. Two things especially stood out for me service wise:- The first was Chef Roy. I am vegetarian and the menu looked, at first glance, very limited for me. However, Chef Roy went out of his way to create me a new dish every day which was very much appreciated. The second was the excursion booking team. There are a number of excursions operated by the hotel. However, having climbed Gros Piton and spent our entire stay gazing at Petit Piton I really wanted to climb Petit Piton even though it wasn't an offered excursion. Both transport and a guide were arranged for me with no fuss at all which made me very happy. (If you're an active person I highly recommend both climbs). In short, I would love to come back to Green Fig and I highly recommend it.
I’ll preface this by saying that as a travel blogger, I did a lot of research on hotels for our stay in Soufriere. I’m a big fan of boutique hotels and resorts, especially those that are unique and truly reflect the destination. On paper ( and photos) Green Fig Resort & Spa certainly ticked all my boxes and I was very excited to experience what appeared to be the rustic elegance of the hotel. There are many positives to share and also some room for improvement ( in my mind). The tree house concept of Green Fig totally fits the stunning location situated high above Soufriere. You are perched along the cliffside with a spectacular view of Petit Piton and the Caribbean Sea. All the staff we encountered were lovely and we were always greeted with warm smiles. Special shoutouts to the restaurant servers and especially our man, Onion at the bar! He kept our glasses full and our stomachs aching from all the fun and laughter. This talented guy has a real gift with people and he was a highlight of our trip. We ate several meals at the restaurant and all were quite good. We particularly enjoyed the chicken roti & fish tacos on the lunch menu and the creole chicken and veggie spring rolls on the dinner menu. The continental breakfast included with our room rate was ok, plenty of options but it would be nice to see maybe some fresh jams rather than packets of Smuckers grape jelly and Jiffy peanut butter. We booked a Bali King Suite and it was very spacious and pretty comfortably furnished. The king bed appeared new and was comfortable. The views from the floor to ceiling windows literally took my breath away. The bathroom was spacious and the shower adequate. Now here’s where things fell a bit short for me. The lighting in the bathroom could use improvement and the overall condition of the building itself was rather run down and/or not properly constructed. There are exposed junction boxes and nails that poke through walls, the doors to our private deck area had a hook & eye closure that had obviously been replaced numerous times as the previous holes were never filled it. It felt more like a camp bunkhouse than an over $600/night room. The curtains are cheap looking and dingy and our deck furniture was falling apart ( I’m sure from the elements but I should be able to sit on my deck without being poked & scratched by broken plastic rattan). So high marks for the size and position of the room but not the construction and maintenance . I was prepared for the sheer number of steps to & from our room but was a bit surprised by how steep, crooked and slanted some were. It’s a bit precarious, so be forewarned. That being said, the employees carrying luggage up and down certainly work hard! And we certainly appreciated them! I’ve saved one of the best for last and that’s a huge thank you to our driver Jarvis! We made the wise decision not to rent a car and used reception to book our transportation to various restaurants and sights. After our first off site trip we requested Jarvis exclusively. He was kind, professional, personable and most importantly kept us safe at all times. I know Green Fig has several drivers in rotation and if they’re all as great as Jarvis, you will be in great hands. Overall we had a lovely stay at Green Fig
Schöner Ausblick
Extrem teuer für die gebotene, sehr rustikale Einrichtung der Zimmer und der Anlage.
We had visited St. Lucia on a cruise a couple of years ago and knew we had to come back. We wanted to stay in Soufriere and have a view of the Pitons. Did some research and discovered the perfect hotel/resort for our stay...Green Fig Resort! We picked the Romance suite and couldn't have been happier with our selection! We had been up since one in the morning traveling and finally got settled in at dusk. We got cleaned up and headed up to the restaurant and were greeted by Lee, who couldn't have been a better ambassador for Green Fig and St. Lucia to two exhausted and hungry travelers. The restaurant was quite busy at that time, but she managed to get us a great table, and drinks 🍸 came right away! We made sure she was the one to take care of us the two other nights we ate there. Kudos to Roxie, who took care of us at breakfast and lunch. Both her and Lee made us feel that we were a part of their families. The hotel is built on a side of a mountain and there are stairs, but it was exactly what I was looking for, for our stay in Soufriere.
Mooie kamer en locatie. Schitterend uitzicht.
Het vele trappenlopen als je appartement wat lager ligt zoals bij ons. Was een hele klim om bij restaurant te komen. Je moet zeer mobiel zijn om dat te doen.
Green fig exceeded my families expectations!!! We have stayed at other St Lucia resorts and you cannot beat the service, price point and views here!!! The concierge desk set us up with private drivers who took up to/ from dinner and any exertion we wanted to go to (with good prices) Tet Paul and sugar beach is a must!! St Lucia has the nicest people you will meet in the carribean. Jarvis was our main driver and he was amazing, flexible and made our trip so memorable . The food and drinks were awesome. Just beware there are many steps at this resort- which makes it so unique. Will be coming back!! Book it!
The Green Fig will take care of you. The will book excursions for you—snorkeling, ATV’s, sunset cruise, massages, dinner and rides, mud baths—they set you up to have the fun of a lifetime. The Saltfish restaurant is delicious, the main pool is a blast, and the views take your breath away. Tucked in the volcanic hillside above a bustling town of Soufriere, you are a fun little hike down to explore the town. We were able to safely see local shops, eat at local restaurants, and meet the locals. In this town, they take care of their tourists. The locals are proud to share their culture and history, and everyone is so friendly—willing to point you in the right direction. At the Green Fig, this small resort is a sight to behold. Bridges, Stone Mountain paths, it’s tucked in the rainforest. It felt like I was staying in a treehouse in the rainforest, but with AC and 5 star accommodations for the rooms. So unique and fun. For the staff, Cordell and Misha are incredible, Cordell always bringing the energy with a smile on his face around the resort, it’s infectious. His spirit rubs off on you. You can’t help but have a great time in paradise. Also, Onion runs the bar, and he’s a good hang. Funny, lots of stories, underrated vocalist, and will tell it like it is. I appreciate that. We loved hanging out with Onion late into the evenings, talking life’s turns, goals, and the world around us. He makes a stiff drink and keeps the good times rolling with a mischievous grin, haha. Anyone on the fence looking for a once in a lifetime experience, choose Green Fig. But don’t be afraid to explore Soufriere town. The resort offers shuttles if you don’t want to hike down. This gem is tucked in the mountain, don’t miss it. Such a different experience than a bigger resort, they know you within a day. Thanks for everything, guys! We will be back!
As soon as you get out of the taxi, have your phone ready, the views at this resort are nothing short of incredible. The staff were attentive and friendly, the food was excellent, and our room was clean. There are several little niches and places to relax and enjoy. Great entertainment in the evenings. We also booked quite a few of the excursions - very convenient. Naturally, there are a lot of stairs being that it’s situated on the mountain side. The charming sounds of Soufrière echo up to the resort. You can walk to the beach which is really nice, but if you want to spend the whole day beach bumming, I would recommend taxiing to a larger beach. Wonderful experience.
The veiw from the romance suite the dinner back down to the lil exercise u get from the stairs
1 proble i had the slide door fromnour bacony fell out of place on me i was slightly injured my hand from catching it
Nothing
Staff rudeness, broken dated and unclean equipment and facilities , the most basic of breakfasts, inadequate mosquito nets and aircon, attempt to overcharge for taxis and bill at end
Beautiful view and great service. The room was beautiful and the view of the Piton was unparalleled. Everyone was very kind.
Gorgeous location, beautiful resort with an extremely friendly staff. Food and drinks were delicious and the spa was absolutely heavenly with an incredible review. Incredibly comfortable beds as well as amenitized rooms. Also Soufrière is an incredible location with a ton of activities nearby. Could not recommend more as the resort was also very fairly priced for St Lucia.
We are big island travelers, but this was our first visit to stunning St. Lucia. This is a very special place-as travelers who seek out unique experiences, the Green Fig was one of them. It is not a cookie cutter hotel. Honestly, such beautiful views and you are up top with a jungle experience with sunsets every night. It is magical. The property is really gorgeous in the most natural way. A couple of things to note: TONS of stairs to get everywhere, so if you are not so fit, it may not be your spot. Tricky to walk at night. But so easy to walk to town. We walked 7 minutes (but there is a free shuttle service for those who need it) and the small city beach below. We mostly used some friendly locals to water taxi us to the amazing Sugar Bay Beach and Anse Mamin beach as the local Hummingbird beach is a bit small and not nearly as nice. A big disapointment: The staff is not the most friendly, especially the lady server at the restaurant at dinner service and the lady at the front desk. Ouch. I have never experienced such anti hospitality behaviors. Not four star or even three star service. A good tip-we found it way more pleasant to make our own reservations in town and found local taxis services that were super happy to help us and took great care of us all week as the Green Fig staff did not care to do so. The Bar staff, Onion and team, were very lovely and warm! We highly enjoy you hang out with them. The General Manager also very kind. A big plus, the staff at Green Fig really cleaned your room each day nicely, and gave us new water bottles and towels each day. This was awesome as the grocery store is a bit of a walk into town. The continental breakfast each morning was pleasant. The pools are more plunge pools, just to note, but enjoyable. We had a great time. Overall the stay was good, but the service not to par.
Such a quaint hotel! Sweet staff!
Only issue is the chickens in the morning😂
Honeymoon of a lifetime! We stayed at Green Fig Resort and Spa for our honeymoon, and it was an absolute dream. The island was gorgeous, and the resort is located on a beautiful mountain side, with breathtaking views. We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was decorated with fresh flower petals and "towel" swans decorated with island flowers and palms. The suite featured a private balcony with the full view of the small town, ocean and piton mountain. The resort was very well taken care of and very clean inside and out. The restaurant at the top of the resort has stunning views of the Soufriere town along the beach, the resort has the infinity pool just below the outdoor dining area with easy access to the bar and endless relaxation. Service was exceptional! From the dining and bar staff to the housekeeping staff and the front service desk ladies, it was a real pleasure to stay with these amazing and friendly people! The resort also allows you to book excursions directly through them, so you just tell them which excursion or adventure you would like to do, the date/time you would like, and they will set up the rest including transportation! It made our trip just that much easier and enjoyable knowing we didn't have to go through the hassle of researching companies, excursions and transportation. We highly recommend visiting St. Lucia and staying at the beautiful Green Fig Resort! We had the trip of a lifetime and have made new friends with the locals while we were there. 10/10!
I don’t know how this place received the 4 * rating in its current condition. The parking lot/entrance is littered with trash. There is no signage. Very unappealing upon first sight. City noise is awful!! Loud music, barking dogs, motorcycles… all day and night. Impossible to sit in veranda and enjoy view. Also felt the railing on our patio was unsafe … very wobbly. Our room was above the restaurant and pool. Again loud until 1am ! And then bright and early clanking dishes that morning. We complained to receptionist upon our arrival … tepid response. We informed her we would be leaving after 1 night. No manager reached out to speak with us. We left and found Tet Rouge ! Highly recommend!! 5 stars!!
Without a doubt we stayed at the BEST resort on the island for our 25th anniversary celebration and we’ve been to many. This was our first stay on the island of Saint Lucia and this quaint spot is situated right in the heart of the island’s outdoor activities. We aren’t big on sitting around at a pool all day but you absolutely could here because the views are spectacular! Instead we generally enjoy exploring and experiencing an island and its culture. This was exactly the place to be! We were able to get around to hike the Pitons, drive deep into the jungle to search for remote waterfalls, enjoy the sulfur springs and the mud bath experience, spend an afternoon making chocolate, snorkel and dive on the pristine beaches of Anse Chastanet & enjoy some of the best views at nearby restaurants for romantic dinners without the hassle of a 2 hour commute each way from the north side of the island. Aside from the ideal location of this resort, the amenities and the people here are what made our vacation beyond memorable. The staff was always available for any needs and unbelievably helpful and friendly. The breakfast included was delicious, drinks were always flowing and dinner was spectacular, using fresh fish caught by one of their regular guests who happened to be there while we were. We were also lucky enough to meet one of the owners, Lance, as well as the GM, Michael, and the restaurant manager, Dean. The warm feeling of this small boutique resort…they couldn’t do it any better and we can’t wait to return! Thanks Green Fig- we will recommend you over and over again to anyone looking for an intimate experience in the perfect location!
First of all the views are amazing. We had so much fun staying here. We felt very welcomed and very safe. The rooms were clean and the soap products very lovely. We stayed at the bottom room and laughed everytime we walked up and down the stairs (154 steps) it took for us to get from our room to the restaurant. The fresh made jucie was a morning favorite. We enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly staff. I will definitely note to be prepared to get a workout because it is like hiking everytime you go anywhere. If you are not stable on your feet I recommend getting the rooms closer to the top :)
I loved the natural setting, it can be a lot of stairs depending on where your room is. The restaurant, bar and pools are great to relax and enjoy the beautiful views of Soufriere and the Petit Piton. We would definitely come back to this place.
Lovely staff, beautiful views and our room was really nice. Food at the restaurant was great!
Lots of steps!
Our family of four recently spent a week in St. Lucia based out of the Green Fig Resort & Spa. We loved every aspect of our time here. We booked the Slik Suite, with two rooms and an incredible view. We did not purchase the food and board package, but would recommend future guests do this. Our intent was to go out every evening in town, and while we did this occasionally, in the end the days were so full that we simply wished to stay at the Green Fig to relax, enjoy the sunsets and the evening music. The staff, from the front desk, restaurant, housekeeping to groundskeepers were stellar—we felt truly cared for. We all enjoyed spa treatments. The practitioners were skilled in their trade. We were only sorry that we didn't get our treatments sooner so we could enjoy more. This is truly a fabulous option for exploring the Southern part of the island if you are looking to avoid the big resort feel in favour of a independently owned boutique experience.
I absolutely enjoyed every minute of my short stay at Green Fig Resort. Although I spent just one night, it was exceptional and customer service was absutely amazing.
Amazing view!
Our family of five adults spent a fantastic week at the Green Fig Resort. We loved the vibe - adventurous and not pretentious, but still luxurious. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They gave us great recommendations for activities and helped get everything booked. We enjoyed meeting guests from all over the world. It’s small enough that you can get to know the staff and other travelers, which we enjoyed. The food was yummy too! And the incredible views of the Pitons from everywhere in the hotel never gets old. There’s even a tree house built off the restaurant and bar!
We loved our stay at Green Fig Resort. The views from the hotel were amazing and the staff were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We stayed in one of the Bali Rooms which had a huge balcony and was right next to the pool on the middle level. It was a short walk up the steps to the restaurant and pool. The hotel does have a lot of steps and it is a steep walk back up from town but that didn't bother us at all and we walked into town several times. There is some noise from the town at night but the bed was so large and comfy that we both slept really well (I always sleep with ear plugs at night so the noise didn't bother me). We loved the rustic feel of the hotel which was like staying in a tree house and different from anywhere else we have stayed. We also ate at the hotel for breakfast and dinner and enjoyed the food. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for something a bit different with great views and good atmosphere.
This is a tricky one. There is no doubt that Green Fig is a special place, largely due to its location and breathtaking views, anything else pales in to insignificance and it seems a bit trivial to pick fault in other aspects of the hotel/stay, however, I will keep it balanced and real. It was a strange start for us, we arrived after a 12 hour journey absolutely shattered, hot and hungry and ready to get to our room and settle in. There seemed to be a few words between the reception staff who advised that they were just making sure the room was ready. After a few minutes, we were told that we were getting a complimentary upgrade, we were to be shown 2 rooms and we could choose which one we would like! You can imagine, we were delighted and very excited to see what was on offer! After a further few minutes we were told that we were now not being given an upgrade and were in fact being taken to our original room! I didn't want to create any fuss and really just wanted to get to our room but, nevertheless, it was a little disappointing to be offered the carrot and then it taken away again with no real communication. Anyhow, we were shown to Room 105. Near the top of the property, old in style and very compact but lots of character and a fabulous balcony within the trees and a spectacular view of the Petit Piton, as mentioned before, it really is breathtaking! The room is air conditioned but the unit was having to work overtime in an attempt to keep it cool, it was perfectly adequate though. There is a free shuttle to the town upon request (try to give 1 hours notice). We did use this service but also walked to the town several times, be aware, the walk back is not for the faint hearted, it's very steep and in 32 degrees, is a bit of a challenge, really enjoyed it though. Continental breakfast is included and comprised of a plate of mixed fresh fruit followed by toast, butter, peanut butter, jam and maybe a piece of banana bread/cake. It was adequate but not special. You could pay for alternative breakfast which we did sometimes, which was lovely, we had the American and also the Lucian pancakes, each between 14-18 USD. We stayed at the hotel for dinner a few nights, again, it was fine, not exactly special but good enough. The staff, are on the whole, lovely, very friendly and helpful and the vibe is very laid back and relaxed which we enjoyed. We cannot forget the steps, yes, there are a lot, some very steep and uneven, all adds to the charm. There really is no rush anyway, so just take your time when navigating the property and take in the views! Maintainance is an issue here, yes it is rustic and I love that but there are also things that are in disrepair that push the 'rustic' narrative a bit too far. There are tiles missing in the swiwwing pool, there is a screw sticking up on the bottom of the pool, there are chairs that are broken, banisters on stair rails that are broken etc etc. I appreciate this is a never ending, thankless task, however, there does need to be some more attention to detail, even just to a safety standard. One other thing, on day 3, we once again got offered a complimentary upgrade and this time it happened! We got moved to 331, this room was totally the opposite to 105, very new, huge, modern, great aircon etc. It really was stunning! We feel very lucky to have experienced both styles of room while there. To summarise, this really is a special place, it just needs some attention to detail to make it match up to its massive potential! Thank you for having us, we feel very lucky to have stayed in such a beautiful part of the world.
Location was excellent and the view was amazing. Staff were kind and welcoming. We had foolishly assumed that St. Lucia used the same plugs as Barbados (aka US) and not UK ones, but they kindly gave us an adapter. The food was tasty and freshly prepared.
Our room was not ready when we arrived at 3 pm, and we needed to wait for almost an hour - while, the pool bar was nice, after a serpentine mountain road, we wanted to chill and have a shower. St Lucia lacks signs, and so does the hotel, we missed the hotel entrance the firs time, then it was up a very steep, at times slippery and potholed incline. Parking was also a challenge, as one needed to reverse down a fairly steepish mountain - not for the faint hearted. A valet service would be nice!
great suite and lovely view , private, loved having choice of pools,
a bit of variety with continental breakfast, would be nice to have a bath tub, or better pressure in shower. sometimes water was cold,
I traveled to St. Lucia as a birthday gift to myself. The Green Fig Resort was the perfect place for lodging. The resort is beautiful, the staff and their service was excellent, the view from my room was stunning and Onion is one of the best bartenders in the world! As if that isn’t enough, the guests at the resort were friendly and we were cool hanging with each other at the bar at the end of the night. Yes, the steps are plenty and steep (I didn’t mind) and I decided against walking the steep, sidewalk-less road into town but neither of those things stopped me from having one of the most beautiful stays of my life. ❤️ Thank you to the staff for your part in making this one of the most memorable trips EVER.
My wife and I just came back from our honeymoon in St. Lucia. We could not have been more happy to have stayed at the Green Fig Resort - the staff truly make the experience incredible. Tasha and Kelsey at reception were so welcoming and helped us booked our excursions throughout the week including transportation, it was seamless, everything taken care of. We were also upgraded to a lovely room with a balcony overlooking Soufriere, the bay , and the famous Pitons. The complimentary breakfast was a great way to start the day, and the dinner menu did not disappoint - recommend the salt fish fritters and the jerk chicken! Onion the bartender was hilarious and made sure everyone was having a good time. We would recommend the private boat excursion with captain Alvin and his nephew Daquan - probably our favorite activity during our stay. We couldn’t write this review without mentioning our man Garvin the taxi driver. On one ride, he pulled over in town to grab something and my wife and I didn't think much of it, he comes back with his favorite local chicken wings - they were the best wings we’ve ever had! Thank you for making our honeymoon unforgettable! We will be back next year!
The views from everywhere on this property were breathtaking. The town of soufriere is just a short walk downhill. Close to all the tours. Food at the saltfish restaurant was amazing daily. Friendly staff, this hotel is absolutely 10/10.
Perfect location to unwind and recharge . Staff are amazing, food totally scrumptious and the rooms all have spectacular views of the Pitons . We would definitely return to this little gem.
Amazing view of the piton and sea. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
This was a 10/10 experience! All of the staff were so helpful and kind! I am a local and I went a on a short staycation and my partner and I were so pleased with the service we received. Shout out to Lea as well she made our dinner experience the best! The room was great and there are so many spots throughout the property to chill and explore! I would return 1000x!!!
Green fig did not disappoint 🌴✨ The resort was such a vibe! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel so welcomed and at home, they were warm, attentive, and always greeted me with a smile. The views were unreal (literally postcard worthy 😍), especially having a perfect view of the islands iconic Gros Piton. Don’t get me started on the food… every meal was a 10/10. Perfect mix of relaxation and good energy. Already planning my next trip back! 🥂🌊
Had a wonderful stay at the Green Fig! The views are spectacular and the staff was very friendly & accommodating. The food was great and the chef prepared our fish that we had freshly caught, which was delicious. The town was lively, which can be noisy at times, but was a great way to get a feel for the local experience. It was also a fairly easy walk into town via the service road (just a bit steep on the way back up). We really enjoyed our excursions to the Gros Piton hike, the mud baths, and deep sea fishing, all of which the hotel helped to arrange. If you like to eat and drink, maybe consider the all inclusive package as that can add up. Overall really enjoyed our stay! Also a bonus if the resort dog Cocoa is there and you get to give her some pets :)
I had the most amazing time with the staff. They really made you feel welcome. The views from the room were breathtaking, and the food was absolutely out of this world.
Great staff
Beautiful views. Room was exceptional. Made my birthday extra special
I spent the weekend at Greenfig Resort to wrap up my vacation, and I truly had the most wonderful time. Everything was just perfect — from the food and drinks to the room, the service, and of course, the breathtaking view. I’d especially like to thank Lee, our amazing waitress, Chef Roy, Onion at the bar, Yo Yo at reception, and our waiter (I’m so sorry I forgot your name!) for making the experience so special. You all made my vacation unforgettable, and I’m so grateful.
Amen here for my wife’s retirement and was upgraded to room 331 and a card and champagne given to us along with flowers on the bed. Most unexpected. Great breakfast, lunch menu good and evening meals brilliant. Lots of steps but keeps you fit. The hotel arranges taxis to all over. You must go to Tet Paul to hike up between the pitons, Anst Chastenet beach is great for relaxing and snorkelling and The Beacon restaurant is lovely and has fantastic views. 10 minute steep walk to hummingbird beach and the seashell restaurant is nice and well priced. The dream bar is cheap and does great local grub. 15 minute walk into Soufriere but the hotel does a free shuttle between 10 and 4 but give them an hours notice.. Overall 10/10 to the hotel. Nice bar and well perched in the hillside with a view to die for.
Views are fab but the one thing that would stop me coming back is the noise from the town. Sitting in my room at 1045 pm being kept awake by music played at god knows how many decibels with no idea what time it might finish. Not necessarily the resorts fault but nevertheless a big minus if you come for a bit of peace. Not the only night this has happened so unfortunately couldn’t recommend here if you’re looking for a peaceful rest
We had the absolute pleasure of experiencing Green Fig Resort in a truly special way – as a last-minute venue for our civil wedding – and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we reached out, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, thank you again to Michael the manager who we reached out to. Despite the short notice, they welcomed us and accommodated us. Every single member of the team were very friendly, helpful, and kind, creating an atmosphere of joy and calm that made our day even more special . The setting itself is breathtaking – serene, and intimate – a perfect backdrop for our small wedding. It felt like something out of a dream. My parents were also fortunate enough to stay at the resort for the entire week and had a beautiful experience. They loved the beautiful room, the peaceful ambiance, and most of all, the wonderful staff who made them feel right at home. We are so grateful to Green Fig Resort for turning what could have been a stressful, last-minute scramble into one of the most memorable days of our lives. Thank you for everything – we really can't wait to return. 🇱🇨
My wife and I spent 5 days in green fig. It was an amazing experience. The staff was friendly courteous and extremely helpful. I have to call out the front office in particular that was always willing, ready and able to solve just about every problem we had. Whether it was helping us with a broken medical device or restaurant recommendations or getting us a driver. Tasha and her team were always there to help. Our room was on the end of one block of Villas with what was essentially our own private pool and an amazing view of the pitons the beach. There pitons are mesmerizing. The kitchen staff was also very accommodating for example they prepared for dinner some fish that I had caught on a fishing trip. It was amazing.
Before coming I read the reviews and mapped the location on google. I knew exactly what to expect as I did my research, as one should. I chose this resort as it was central to the things I wanted to do; hike Petit Piton, visit Sugar Beach, Anse Chastanet Beach and be close to town. The resort is beautifully situated cliffside overlooking Petit Piton, the ocean and the town of Soufriere. The views could not be any better. Staff greeted me upon arrival, checked me in and brought me down to my room. Yes, there are plenty of stairs on this resort as described. I stayed in the budget friendly room. It was quite large, had an amazing view and a little balcony outside. The pools were clean and the resort in general was tidy. Leaves and various fruits are consistently falling from trees so don’t be surprised if you see them on the steps or walkways. I had the (included) continental breakfast every morning which was good and had dinner here a few times, but mostly ate in town or while visiting nearby beaches. The prices for food and drink are comparable to what you’ll find in town and at other resorts. The staff were courteous, easy to talk with and the locals in town are respectful. Taxi’s are expensive around here but you can shop around and bargain for a better rate. There are infinite lizards, tree frogs and lots of bats flying around at night which is cool to see. I had a great experience and have nothing bad to say. If you are older, out of shape or have knee problem's, please note, you’ll be going up and down lots of stairs, and if you choose to walk into town that will require going down (then up) a steep road. The walk to town is 10 minutes and the resort has a shuttle to bring you down the road.
