Reviewed Jul 17, 2026The room was clean and nice and comfy, although it was a little bit small. Pretty close to everything I needed in Essen, and no complaints in that regard.
There was no fridge in the room, which I understand isn't always the case. But there were no microwave, hot water for my tea/oatmeal or ice **anywhere** available for me in the building, and the staff was not very accommodating. So the hospitality was lacking, in my opinion. Burger King Next Door was also out of ice, so I drank my warm wine over the weekend. Not very appetizing.

Rührei sucht man vergebens.

Reviewed Jul 2, 2026Checkin process quick and smooth. Cleanliness of common spaces and welcoming environment from the beginning. Fair breakfast choice. Fair mattress quality. Quiet room even if it was a carpark view with fast food. Bedsheet and linens very clean.
Carton glasses missing in the bathroom, and the floor was poorly vacuumed. It was super easy to find hairs and hair on the carpet. Not something I was expecting from B&B.

Reviewed Jun 24, 2026This. Was one of the worst travel experiences i have ever had. Upon arrival, we were unable to check in because nobody was available and the self check in machine didn’t find my reservation. We called the hotel more often but our calls went unanswered and the telephone numbers were not available. After that, we contacted Booking.com customer support and were assured that an alternative accommodation would be arranged for us. Unfortunately this never happened. After a long exhausting trip, we were left stranded with nowhere to stay and were forced to spend the night sleeping in our car. This situation was completely unacceptable and caused us significant stress, discomfort, pain and frustration. I’m extremely disappointed by the lack of support, communication, accountability from both the hotel and the assistance provided through Booking.com. A confirmed reservation should never result in guests being left without accommodation in the middle of the night. I strongly urge Booking.com to investigate this incident and take appropriate action to ensure that no other travelers have to endure such unacceptable experience.
