Reviewed Sep 15, 2026Breakfast was adequate in quality, freshness, and amount, but did not vary from day to day. It got very boring after the second week.
When we first checked in, we told the clerk we might have a change in plans and would probably check out weeks before than we had originally planned. The clerk advised us that we could check out any day we wanted, however we would still be charged for the length of the original booking. To be sure I wasn't misunderstanding her, I repeated what her statement. She reiterated that I would be charged for the entire length of the booking, whether or not I checked out two weeks early or stayed the length the original booking. She then added, "You can always argue with Booking.com or the manager, who is not here right now, but I don't think you will succeed. You should have booked directly with the hotel instead of Booking.com. If you had, I could do something, but you didn't. I'm sorry." As a result of this, we declined an offer from family to travel to Belgium with them because we did not want to waste the money. The experience tainted our opinion of the hotel, the staff, and our stay in general.

Reviewed Sep 15, 2026Sehr gefallen hat uns die Freundlichkeit aller Angestellten und das wir unser Fahrrad mit aufs Zimmer nehmen durften da Triathlon in der Stadt war. Im Haus war es sehr ruhig und man konnte trotz Bahnhof gegenüber gut schlafen. Parkgarage gegenüber unschlagbar im Preis für 3,10€ am Tag. Fahrradgarage nebendran .
Hat uns das es weder einen Kühlschrank noch einen Kleiderschrank gibt, wo soll man seine Kleidung verstauen ? Nicht durchdacht. Der schmutzige Sessel in 129 sollte unbedingt Mal getauscht werden. Macht keinen guten Eindruck. Das Frühstück war OK aber für so ein Hotel wirklich durchschnittlich. Das Hotel sollte schon darauf hinweisen das Asylbewerber im Hotel leben und sich sowohl in der Lobby als auch vorm Hotel rumhängen, das macht wirklich keinen guten Eindruck für Gäste die eine Menge Geld bezahlen um dort zu übernachten.

Es waren in dem Hotel auch Asylbewerber untergebracht, das war nicht so schön ,weil es teilweise abends laut war und der Müll teilweise einfach neben den Abfalleimer geworfen wurde...

De eerste 3 etages zit vol met asiel/gelukszoekers me vrouw voelde zich totaal niet op haar gemak. Met allemaal mannen die alles wat vrouwlijk is jagend nakijken. Douche was vreselijk geen druk dus niet normaal op kunnen frissen. Enige wat goed is was het bed.

Reviewed Aug 27, 2026The front desk and restaurant staff were exceptional, empathetic, and did everything in their power to manage difficult circumstances.
This property is currently functioning as an asylum center / long-term municipal residential shelter for roughly 30–40% of its capacity, which was completely undisclosed prior to booking. The overall environment has been entirely altered, making it impossible to use the facility as a normal hotel. *Zero Suitability for Rest or Business: Constant shouting, stomp noise late into the night, and heavy group activity around the entrance and corridors made sleeping practically impossible. I had to cancel all scheduled client meetings because common areas were congested, noisy, and unsuited for hosting anyone. *Misleading Front Desk Claims: I was specifically assured at check-in that short-term guests and long-term residents were accommodated on separate floors. This was false; long-term residents were placed directly on our floor. *Overcrowded & Unpleasant Amenities: The breakfast area was chaotic, overcrowded, and unhygienic due to continuous heavy crowding. Public space upkeep suffered, with trash left unattended by the elevators. A hotel cannot secretly double as an asylum center while charging standard commercial rates to unsuspecting guests (I paid 700 euro for 2 nights). If you need rest, sleep, or a professional environment to host clients, do not book this hotel.

I ate in the restaurant and the dinner was amazing. Breakfast was average but for the price on the room was good. I would have rated this very good or excellent but the bedsheets let it down as described below
The bedsheets and pillows smelt terrible from a distance. There was a strong smell of body odour and they were definitely NOT clean. Pigeon deterrent needed outside window as spent a lot of time trying to get them away as were noisy.

Das Zimmer war an einigen Stellen abgewohnt/ abgenutzt.Der Stuhl könnte mal ausgetauscht werden.Und die Gardine war schmutzig mit bräunlichen Flecken.Sowas müsste man mal kontrollieren. Das Hotel ist sehr hellhörig.Dennoch würde ich wieder kommen.

I also saw several of them openly handling drugs. Staff did nothing about the chaos. Felt very unsafe. Strongly avoid this hotel.

Es gab bei Ankunft leider nur 1 Decke. Wurde aber noch gebracht nach einem Gespräch mit der sehr netten Rezeptionistin. Frühstück geht so. Ist nichts besonderes.

Reviewed Jul 5, 2026Hôtel très bien aménagé avec une bonne accessibilité. De grands ascenseurs, un bon espace pour le petit déjeuné ou simplement boire un verre au bar. La chambre était assez spacieuse ainsi que la SDB. Bien situé à proximité d'une zone commercial, de la gare et des transports en commun. J'aurais juste apprécier la présence d'un petit frigo dans la chambre...
La clim semble simple à réglé mais nous n'y sommes pas arrivé en plusieurs jours. malgré les modifications sur le cadran, la température ne changeais pas. L'absence d'un petit coffre-fort serais le seul point noir que je pourrais vraiment noter.

Dat er niet standaard iedere dag nieuwe handdoeken gelegd worden of de kamer opgemaakt word wat nog wel standaard gedaan word in de andere hotels waar ik wel eens kom.

Reviewed Jun 25, 2026Sadly our stay wasn’t the greatest. AC wasn’t working , Shagu a fantastic member of staff gave us a fan. No housekeeping on day one had to request towels etc. Room was small but had all you needed. The hotel is currently being used to house immigrants majority of which are older teen men. They take over the restaurant area and lobby area as well as outside seating at the hotel. We couldn’t sit and have a drink due to them laying around across the hotel also being vocal. We can imagine if you are visiting as a family this could be intimidating. People should be made aware of this situation. The hotel is close to the train station which is a positive.

Reviewed Jun 22, 2026Mooi en net hotel, met vriendelijk personeel. Ook recht tegenover het treinstation, wat voor ons de omslag gaf om de auto te laten staan en met de trein naar Johan Cruijff ArenA te gaan.
Parkeren (op parkeerplaats bij de winkels aan de New Yorkweg) was voor ons onduidelijk. Eerst €3,10 betaald van 14:45-22:00 uur. Bij de receptie werd verteld dat een dagkaart €3,00 kost, ook in de straten om het hotel heen. Uiteindelijk bleek een dagkaart €6,20 te zijn. Beetje jammer...

Выходящие на жд вокзал окна, до 2 ночи слушали проходящие поезда, и вид так себе с номера. Так же не было элкментарно одноразовых тапочек, ватных дисков и ватных палочек. Думаю это странно.

Reviewed May 25, 2026Rooms are very clean and spacious , large breakfast buffet till 10am , the staff are incredibale nice , friendy , professional and helpul. From the receptionist to the restaurant staff they are all amazing! . We really enjoyed our stay there and we will definately go back. Highly recommand if u wanna visit Almere.

The pillows were uncomfortable. I would suggest replacing them with something else.

Reviewed May 22, 2026Evy and Jan were super nice people, if we needed anything they helped us right away. The place was super comfortable and clean. We had an area to park in front of the house. The location has super good location. Evy and Jan also recommended places to go, the bakery that they suggested was the beeest!!

Hele verdieping bezet door jongeren die daar tijdelijk verbleven en van daaruit naar school gingen. Lawaai, drukte, duidelijk andere normen en waarden.

Reviewed May 17, 2026The location is right next to the train station which was convenient for us, we took the train to Amsterdam daily and we could get there in 30-40 minutes. There wasn't any noise coming from the station, which was one of my concerns. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, everything was very clean.
There wasn't any kind of fridge, even a minibar in the room. Traveling with a child means you have to keep food somehow, but we didn't have an option to safely store food even overnight.

Reviewed May 17, 2026Sehr sauber, gutes Raumkonzept, helle Zimmer, freundliches Personal, gute Lage direkt neben einem Bahnhof. Ein Parkhaus ist direkt gegenüber für 3,50€ für eine Nacht.
Für einen längeren Aufenthalt als 1-2 Nächte würde mir ein Schrank oder andere Möglichkeiten zur Aufbewahrung meiner Klamotten fehlen.

Reviewed May 13, 20261st of all, we arrived and was met with youngsters playing football outside of the hotel as we approached the Hotel. Went into lobby- more youngsters strewn about the lounge areas. Booked in, paid extra 19 pounds tax. Went to our room, dodgy window so got to move couple doors down the landing, no worries. We asked for an extra chair as the was two of us. Didn't have a spare so had to use a poof. Room was clean bed was fab view great. Right by connecting trains to Amsterdam. (Make sure u buy region train tickets for unlimited travel awesome) Town was cute, dont expect a mega shopping experience but expect to live like the locals Anyway back to the my point. We established that the first 4 floors had refugees/asylum seekers, noise and lounging about at reception slightly intimidating but would be worse if female travelling on your own. Police presence keeping an eye. Hated having to write all this, when l questioned IHG they declined to comment of the status of the hotel. I understand its everywhere but l would Not of chosen a hotel that housed refugees as felt my belongings wasn't safe, felt like we was being watched too.

Reviewed Apr 22, 2026Holiday Inn Express Almere - Tripadvis: Surprise birthday breakfast As a birthday surprise beginning of January, instead of breakfast in bed, we went for breakfast here. It wasn't a big buffet, but enough choice to have a full belly. There was fresh fruit, juices and salads for those vegetarians. The staff was also nice, very welcoming, and before cleaning up they asked if we need anything else and they even let us stay a bit longer. We'll definitely go there again.

Reviewed Apr 12, 2026W hotelu.razem z gośćmi byli.ulokowani prawdopodobnie azylanci. Taka informacja powinna być dostępna dla gości płacacych.za hotel. Śniadanie mały wybor.,pierwszy raz spitkalam sie z takim.slabym.jedzeniem w Holiday Brak wody w pokojach. Sprzątanie co 2 dni,więc jak.zrobiłeś sobie kawe ,na drugi dzień brakowało.

We had a bedroom with separated beds, but since it was for one night, we didnt complain.
