Essenzia de Cancun

in center of everything prize is good transportation is good

Very attentive staff

Good for what you pay for. Looks like a mall turned into a hotel. Free parking. Okay place if you want something cheep in the hotel zone. Room was nice, weird pictures on the walls though.

Parking was a nightmare, sound travels through every crook and cranny, no A/C in common areas, no hot water.

La pasé muy bien en el hotel, la limpieza de la habitación fue muy buena, el personal muy atento por lo que sin duda regresaría para futuras ocasiones!!

The hotel is very close to the Hotel Zone and the price is very affordable, very comfortable and quite. Within walking distance to the beaches and the Super Market.

Simple and cheap option. Huge hotel.

Very "efficient" (what you get for the money you pay). Good location, clean, quiet (stayed here at the end of the busy season). Nothing to complain. Interesting approach, to convert a (closed) shopping mall into a hotel.

Good price clear room

Ok

This hotel is good for a one night stay but not for a long week. Expect the minimum. Elevator and escalator werent working so we had to carry our luggages to 2nd floor. As other reviews it looks as if it use to be a shopping mall or offices. Very abandon look. We just stayed one night in cancun so the price was right, we walked over to the club strip (approx. 3 blocks away). Walking at night to the hotel was abit shady, but in the day its busy with people. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was clean.

Muy bien ubicada y no cara

The lady was very kind, even though it was 2-3 hours before check-in. She gave me the room so I could change, leave my things, and go to the beach. Everything was great and close

Check/in was great and the attendant was friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and the A/C worked well. However it was difficult to find the entrance which was around the side of the building itself, which is a converted mall. In essence, there is no natural light inside the room and no views to any grounds as such. But there was a good number of lights inside the unit itself.

Staff was amazing, but this place had cockroaches and the bed had hair in the sheets floor dirty like it wasn’t mopped properly had a mildew smell

Great staff and wonderful location. The beach is across the street

Very good location.

Lovely service, clean & updated room, and fair pricing. Would definitely stay here again

For the money, the rooms were large, beds were king sized, and all clean. The hotel has little amenities but there's a cute coffee shop with a great breakfast on the backside. My teenage sons loved exploring the old hotel

Each employee I encountered was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They were patient in answering my questions. I want to commend the women preparing the breakfasts. The food was good, hot and tasty! The restaurant was clean, airy and comfortable. The rooftop pool was an unexpected treat.

Don’t have breakfast

This hotel was very close to the beach and a lot of tourist attractions which made it really easily accessible. reception was very good for arranging tours for us but they didn't even have an extra blanket when we asked for one. due to heavy poor on the day the roof was leaking in the hallway. the gym was not really in a working condition. Room was spacious and clean but would have preferred carpet floors instead of tile.

Little more maintenance in room.

Hey , I like this hotel I see every room different design that is very good looking.

Great hotel

This is a by the hour sex hotel, pictures of half naked women to decorate the room. An abandoned shopping mall and the room is a store front with glass walls and a curtain to shield you from the outside viewers. Lady at the check in counter was asking us to fix her bra and coughing all over the front desk staff. Not a hotel. Not even a hostel. I don’t know what this is.

Property majority of the time does not have hot water. Does not have security safe. Hi placed bathtub, no security in place. Loud at night, bed covers with holes. Water pressure unstable , the stench of weed was coming into my bathroom with a hole they covered up with a portrait photo. Holes in the roof of the hallway dripping down into passage ways. The only thing that worked here was the air conditioning. Hotel is in ruins, literally falling apart.

The place is comfortable but it didn’t offer hand or face towels

Agradable, silenciosa

The outside of the hotel may probably fool you, but as soon as you enter the property, you notice a simple front desk and hallways, but good customer service. Something that should be mentioned is that the bathrooms that are considered public are aging and appear abandoned. But when you enter your room, you can see a room that is on par with large renowned hotels, clean and comfortable, I fell in love with my room. This hotel is undoubtedly a gem in the hotel zone and at a price that cannot be matched. It has a buffet restaurant, the food is good and the service is friendly. If you plan to spend the whole day out, this is the right hotel.

This is a hidden gem. It is right across the Rui, but you don't pay that price. It is not a luxurious hotel, but the price is just about right.

Love the location, easy to walk to restaurants, take busses, wonderful areas for those who like to walk. I recommend it

The room was big and quiet with good AC, we only had one cockroach, and the location is close to the heart of the hotel zone! There is also a beautiful beach right nearby (just walk through the fiesta they’re nice). Overall very happy with our stay

This has been a fantastic hotel that is now past its prime but still very comfortable, inviting and intriguing. The staff are helpful and the morning breakfast buffet is very good.

Old hotel

Really nice and close to restaurants and club's.

It was noisy walls are thin a couple were fighting next door the whole night!

The hotel is a converted shopping plaza. Room wasn't the same as in the picture but good for what we paid for. The room was so sanitized, that the smell of Javel was in the air for the first day. No windows in the room with the exception of the frosted display window in the passage way of the hotel. All in all, not too bad for the price. Located across the street from the RIO Palace.

Our reservation was cancelled at the lobby without any explanation. Instead of 3 nights we paid extra and only where able to stay one night. But this was an extremely low level stay. Be aware - this is an old out-of-business shopping mall, that was turned into the hotel/hostel. Rooms have no windows, bathrooms are inside the room, no soap, no towels.

It's a underground mall they turn into a hotel. we had no windows. It felt like a cave, so we couldn't breathe. The shower is connected to the bathroom. There's only a curtain to divide the bathrooms from the bedroom. And I hate having to take cold showers period the water would impeat at all period definitely the worst hotel i've ever stated.

The property has only one thing going for it and that’s location . It smelled in the room . It was run down and terrible signage . We were lucky the cab driver knew where it was. Never had hot water whole week we were there . Room was cold and no heat as we got some bad weather . Our room was clean but never got hand towel and had to ask for bath towels . In saying that we found the staff friendly and helpful with requests . It’s only good if you get a great deal to stay as close to everything otherwise don’t book here . The place is literally falling apart . We were at highest season Xmas week so we got a great rate compared to other very overpriced hotels . Also we felt safe walking everywhere .

Cute little spot by lack substance , no bar or pool but have potential to be a hot spot the hotel and I'll will be there next year

Good value in a good location.

Great!

Below average, lacks essentials like small towels, lobby can get too noisy and the sound goes straight to the room. Staff pushing carts at 5 am and passing by your room causing so much noise is very normal there.

Good location. You get what you pay for. We just needed it for 1 night and it was good enough

very nice room

I enjoyed my stay. Wonderful for those who will be out most the dayotherwise what's the point while i cancun.staff helpful and attentive. Work being done there so appearance needs some help.but cost made up for that.i would recommend or perhaps leave it as my little secret place

The room was fine, the problem is that the hotel has a different name than the one that appears on the web, after all, everything is fine.

Good

I like, i will back soon

El hotel es bueno por la ubicación, la comodidad de las camas es excelente pero fue decepcionante ver que la habitación no contaba con puerta en el baño, tal vez el hotel en su momento fue motel.

Room ok,hallway needs improvement

The property over all was interesting. We believe it was a mall that was turned into a hotel. The beds were super comfortable! We slepts really well. The only downfall was that we didnt have hot water to shower with and the bathroom shower head was a little messed up. The sink was clogged up too. There are no phones to reach the front desk. But great location and friendly staff.

Not much privacy and a little over priced for what it is. Rooms are in an old shopping mall.

CAREFUL! The rooms don't have windows. This place was not planned to be a hotel. It used to be a mall, so the shops are now remodeled to be rooms. The entrance side, it's mainly a large glass wall, so you have light coming in all night long. Not worth the savings. There are other hotels in the area that were originally planned as hotels.

Fair for the price, but have some issues with air and the hot water took too much time to warm at shower Close to night clubs

Very well located if you want to be in the middle of everything. The rooms are nice and updated. Don’t let the outside fool you once inside you will be comfortable. The price for a hotel in a location like this is perfect !! Best for people looking for a place to sleep and then explore Cancun

Was in cancun for major dental work. This hotel was perfect. Good location room was clean and quiet. Many options for food. Stop and find Manuel he will direct you in your needs.

The shower needs to be bleached or cleaned for mold and mildew

.

There was a giant cockroach in my room..otherwise perfect other than neighbours singing and talking loud at 7am…had to go out of my room twice to ask them to be quiet

I

We do not feel safe here. Room has bad smell & ac is noisy

On my first check in it took 11/2 hours the receptionist was terrible…i had been travelling for 22 hours and just needed my bed and i was prepaid so all he needed to do was give me a room key…1 1/2 hours is unacceptable at 11pm or anytime….

If you do not want the high price of the resorts this is a great place. If you are looking just for a good room to sleep and go exploring on your own. Everything was clean and comfortable. Close to all the clubs, bars and restaurants in the Hotel Zone. For the price you can not beat it. Staff was awesome! You can go to a lot of resorts and just pay their day rate. Lot cheaper!

I stayed at Essenzia de Cancun for 4 days. The room was huge and very comfy! The staff are friendly and services are good. Complain is that they had maintenance at 8am which not convenient for tents.

Check in was super quick and friendly. Room was extremely clean and beds were comfortable. Only downside was that there was no internet near the rooms that worked.

The front representative had a really bad attitude even though we were very nice. The room smelled really bad so we had to change our room. We saw a lot insects. One cockroach in our room.

Very clean. At a good price

The glass wall that allows light in from the lobby the entire night is such a pain. There is no door to close the bathroom from the bedroom, zero privacy when it comes to using the restroom. Worst hotel I’ve stayed in for sure.

They. Should. Close. Done. And. Build again.

Hotel was great and staff was helpful and friendly!

I would not call this place "cozy". One of the room they offered us first was literally separated by the street by a sheet of glass - not very secure. The other room had a strong mold smell. The third room did not have a door to the bathroom. The wifi was not working in our room at all. The

Loved it would stay again

Great staff nice an clean close to all areas

Very friendly

Very good service. My room was very nice but no for big people because the shower door is narrow. And my suite has no windows.

The first room I had smelled weird. Maybe humidity stuck in there. Every morning I would wake up with very bad sore throat. I let management know, they changed my room. The second room smelled a lot better. However, the hot water in the shower in this room was not as good as the first room.

I checked in the hostel room style condition which smells, mosquitoes flying around, yellow-brown color bedsheet while my friends checked in the hotel room as viewing on hotel’s website (we all paid the same amount). I complained the difference she changed me to another better hostel style condition room that I have to accept it because there is no other room available. This room’s shower head spray to the toilet bowl which left only a few drops for shower, I brought it up, she changed to the hotel room style condition as the same level to my friends room. I moved twice to get a comfortable rest.

Quiet and secluded

Is the worst hotel I have ever been, is not even 1 star

we dint stay in the hotel they told me that the manager will refund our money, the rooms dint have air condition we try 3 diferent rooms

Eles foram muito atenciosos e gentis o tempo todo. Adorei a minha estada lá e recomento.

Great location, but very noisy

More food choices

First of all, the smell. It felt toxic. Bad mold is my guess but I don’t know. Second, it is extremely noisy. Interior doors off of an old mall type of building. Lots of hard surfaces for sounds to bounce around and boy do they! Sleep was not to be had, so glad it was only one night.

Esta en buena ubicación esta limpio pero tiene un olor a humedad y la verdad no me gustó el baño solo lo divide una pared de plastico de la recámara

Its a shopping center converted to hotel , google map does not take you there !! People walk on the roof at night , no windows , no safe !! Pay $10 more go elsewhere

The old look made u fill like u were back in the old days

Nice

If you need an affordable room inside the hotel zone this is a great option. So I'm sure others have noted that this hotel is inside an old indoor shopping mall. Basically, the retail spaces have been converted into hotel rooms. It is kind of a strange setup, but it is practical and it works. Rooms were nice & clean. Mine even had a mini fridge which was nice. Wifi was also really good. One thing to note, the bathroom in my room (a single) wasn't in a separate little room w/ a door. It had a wall and a curtain. But the toilet is visible. If you're by yourself it's really not a big deal. But if you're sharing with a friend, it could be kinda weird. However, I'm not sure how the bigger room's bathrooms are set up. Location is really good. Walking distance to bars & restaurants, there was even a grocery store down the street. I would stay here again. Last thing - on most travel sites, for some reason they have this hotel located in the wrong place. Its actually located directly across the street from the Dreams Sands Cancun Resort. In the same building (shopping mall) as the Mayafair Design Hotel.

First room 130 was terrible (bad smell, no curtains and I couldn’t sleep because lots light and noice in the room), so we switched to 115, and life became better. There are nice location and helpful staff in hotel. Brekfast not included, but you always can buy it in the hotel

It was ok for the price

Excelente ubicación por un muy buen precio. Muy limpio, la habitación muy amplia y cómoda. Lo único fue que la ducha estaba tapada pero solo me quede una noche así que no fue tanto problema.

Lovely place, clean, great customer service... going back soon Thanks

First of all from Inside the room was an open restroom, terrible condition with the technology of 1900, the bedsheets that we sleep it wasn't clean, we left the early morning disgusted.

This is a BOGUS hotel. Does not exist and you will get charged for a night. It’s a FRAUD.

Close to restaurants and well situated. It was also very quiet in the hotel
