Hampton by Hilton High Wycombe

Ruime kamers, goede sanitaire voorzieningen, stil en alles goed geïsoleerd op geluid. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Veel bewegingsvrijheid in en om het hotel. Eigen laadpalen voor hybride en elektrische auto's. Lokatie was dermate goed, dat er veel mensen kwamen werken, vergaderen, workshops volgen, gebruik maakten van doorreismogelijkheid.

Parkeerplaatsen zijn er te weinig op het terrein van hotel. Zeker in de avond-uren een probleem. Hotel ligt aan een drukke doorgaande weg (achterzijde).

A modern hotel set on the edge of the M40 which proved to be an ideal location for our stay. The rooms were air conditioned and wifi and breakfast were included.

Car parking was confusing on arrival until we belatedly saw the sign for parking at the rear of the hotel. A round of drinks was expensive. The mattress creaked every time I moved.

The duvets and pillows were amazing. Absolutely spotless , and breakfast fantastic.

The only thing I would say would be the parking.

It was really clean and tidy and the staff were polite.

The pillows were a bit odd. One was super squishy and the other was super hard was difficult to get comfy.

Location a little bit out from the town centre but super easy to reach by bus or taxi. Our room was lovely and the bed was absolutely massive! Breakfast was great and the staff were really helpful when I had to ask about allergens as I have coeliac disease. Would definitely stay again

The lovely property is spoilt by the parking fee.

I always find it such a scam when a property charges an addition for parking. It puts me off staying again sadly. Parking should be included not a way of leveraging more money out of someone. I stayed at Hamptons all across USA not one charged for parking.

Beds were uncomfortable sofa bed needs a mattress topper at least as sofa bed was like sleeping on the floor and main bed mattress was uncomfortable also and not to the standard the room deserved.

Whilst the room was fine, the overall experience at this hotel was rubbish. Complete rip off from start to finish. The bed was comfy. the room was ok - very typical hotel group hotel. nothing to write home about. It was all the rest that was the problem. Firstly, unless you've read the small print somewhere (I didn't see it at all), when you arrive by car - and you inevitably will, because there's no other way to get there - you'll be hit by the parking charge. That added another fiver to the price that wasn't expected. Then the receptionist was pretty rude and condescending. Then we made the mistake of ordering some very basic bar food for dinner. 2 pizzas that were all tomato sauce and very little else, some sweet potato fries (1 portion), a small bottle of water and a J2O - over £60!!!!!! That's more expensive than London pricing and is nothing other than an absolute rip off. Robbery and a disgrace. It's 1 thing to earn a margin, but when you've left feeling like you've been robbed, it leaves nothing but an incredibly poor taste in the mouth and that's why, 2 days later, I'm sat here writing this review. I would NEVER go back to this hotel and I'd advise you all to book any of the number of other hotels that are local to this. It's also a real stain on the Hilton brand. Disgusting

The service was very good, people were genuinely polite and helpful. The option for food was alright too.

Breakfast was decent, and the rooms were really comfortable. The staff were very helpful. The fitness centre was also really good for a hotel's usual facilities. It's also good there's a big Waitrose just next door.

The staff were very helpful, cheerful and polite. The room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. The shower was brilliant! The bar was really nice.

One night receptionist could have been more helpful to the clearly new member of staff working the bar on that Saturday night, when it was very busy.

The hotel was clean, spacious and had great facilities. Loved the walk in shower. Breakfast was great. Really convenient location for an event at Wycombe abbey. Will definitely stay again

Breakfast selection was brilliant. Being picky; sausages was mushy in texture and the little hush puppies where not crunchy, eggs NOT good.

Moulds in the bathroom shower door, sides and ceiling, could have been cleaned. There is no toothpaste provided. Other 3 star hotels provides toothpaste.

When booking, I overlooked that the room was listed as 'accessible' (wheelchair friendly). It might be helpful to highlight this feature more clearly during the reservation process so these rooms remain available for guests who truly need them.

Had a meal in the restaurant, very basic menu , but poorly cooked and way overpriced for this sort of frozen fare. Complaint made about poorly cooked chips excuse made, fryer not working but no alternative or refund offer, just shrugged off. Similar response when asked about stay on checkout! A poor sauvignon blanc at £38.40 per bottle rounded off the poor meal ! Definitely won't be eating dinner here again...

The location was a perfect distance to all the attractions we wanted to visit, being close to the motorway helped. Had a full English breakfast every morning and it was delicious. The room was modern and the shower was great. A nice big tv and a lift to our floor was good.

The mattress was a little hard and I woke every morning with a bad back.

So clean and modern

This is basically the best hotel in High Wycombe. It's not in the centre itself but is just a short bus or car ride away. Rooms are fresh, stylish, and comfortable. Everything in the hotel is spotless. The breakfast is outstanding. All of the staff at the hotel are excellent, but the kitchen and breakfast staff deserve a special mention. They are happy and welcoming. They keep everything clean and tidy, they are super attentive, and make sure everything works like clockwork. We always stay here when in High Wycombe.

Only downside is the limited car parking but things have improved since last year. The hotel now has access to some overflow parking in the car park opposite.

Our bathroom door was a bit broken, not a problem for a mum and daughter but if you aren’t that comfortable like a new couple could be an issue

Clean and convenient

The staff were not particularly welcoming. The man who checked us in looked bored and almost like he couldn't be bothered. But the lady who was there later was better and managed a smile. Parking was charged which I'd not had to pay for before. If you've paid for the hotel, it's shame parking is charged on top. (Especially when this was not clear at the time of booking.)

When I checked in the member of staff didn't signpost me to the usual 'check in' type info. For example where the lifts are, meal times etc. so I was left doing a little wander around to try to locate the lifts which are not really visible upon check in. I also had to ask about the car parking validation which ideally should be information that doesn't need a prompt when guests check in as it's very clear that parking notices are issued if parking is not validated within the hotel. The website isn't clear as to whether evening dinner is available so I made steps to order in then realised that food can be ordered at the bar. Other than that - a wonderful stay !

The room was very comfortable, with most of what you might need: a small desk space, some hanging options, fridge, kettle, ironing kit, safe, and hairdryer. Staff were extremely courteous and happy to help, and the breakfast was a really nice mix of hot and cold options. Air conditioning worked well (though it can take a while to update settings changes) and excellent shower.

I do think its a bit ridiculous to have to pay for parking on top of the price of the room on arrival, and this wasn't made very clear during booking. It isn't extortionate, but considering the car park is private to the hotel, it does feel odd.

Mistake with the key cards meant someone entered our room, as he was assigned the same room as us.

The bacon was not to my taste. Scrambled egg was the only egg option (husband dislikes Scrambled egg but loves other eggs). No decaffeinated tea or coffee in the room, we had to collect decaffeinated every morning from the breakfast layout (had requested decaffeinated via an email sent to us during our first day. Email reply said it would be arranged but nothing was received)

The modern style of the hotel and the large reception area. It was free to park your car.

Cars parking in the EV charging area which weren't even electric vehicles. The breakfast was poor and chaotic. Food cold, the coffee machine needed the waste granules emptying and it took 30 minutes for a member of staff to do it. Cutlery, bread and sugar in the wrong places which meant you had to lean over people to get them. No fried or poached eggs which when I asked the lady said she would have to warm the eggs up in a microwave! No cooked porridge just pot noodle style. The bar was mega expensive, over £8 for a pint of IPA,hence we didn't drink much in the hotel. The air con in our room did nothing meaning it was too hot and stuffy to sleep. Even after reporting it to staff. The shower and handbasin are blocked and need someone to clean out the waste traps.

We like the layout of the hotel. The room was excellent, comfy beds, large screen tv, spacious and particularly loved the Smeg fridge.

Location was difficult to find, satnav sent us via the end of the bus station and concerned we may get fined because of it. Signs showing where the reception is on the way in and many people had problems understanding how to use the lift. Access to the carpark was tricky for my disabled wife.

Breakfast not as good as last visit, staff slow to refill food containers The gym was designed by a man for men. Where are the lighter weights for women? Reception staff did not give us the notice to put in our car for the council car park to say that we had paid at Hilton, and neither did they advise us that we could only park in a certain area of the car park. So we got 2 tickets at £50 each, which we now have to dispute. We will not be staying there again.

Hampton by Hilton is by far the worst hotel iv stayed in without exaggeration, a mattress that ensures you break your back, extremely stinky washrooms unclean and uncomfortably low. Absolutely no cleaning or housekeeping. The air conditioner doesn’t work nor is there any other facility. Room size is painfully small and neither the decor nor ambience nor the service is even close to acceptable . Nothing compares to the name it bears

Chris is an amazing member of staff. I arrived about tea time and he made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived, there was someone already checking in when I got there, but he kept me entertained until I could check in. Later I popped down for a drink and was offered a taste test of local beers. He really engaged with me and we had a chat about wild camping in Scotland. He made an effort to talk to me every time he saw me. Renee served me the second night and was professional and chatty. The room was fabulous, having a corner sofa really made a difference to my stay. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking to book
